View Full Version : Episode Discussion Threads
I notice you guys also have Episode xx discussion [Spoilers] threads.
Since we don't know when a new episode will be made available from K-F, we can't have exactly the same format as the Naruto discussion threads but if you want to have the latest one made into a sticky, them I'll try and make sure that when a new ep is released I'll update the stickiness of the appropriate threads.
Or in other words, I'll make Episode 87/88 discussion [Spoilers] (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=10004) a sticky. When episode 89 is released, I'll unsticky the ep 87/88 thread and sticky the new Episode 89 discussion [Spoilers] thread (and so on and so on). Please bear in mind that I'm not here 24/7 so I may not be able to update the threads the instant the new release is made but I'll do it when I notice :)
I would suggest that you can always PM one of the Mods to do the job if I'm not around but to start off with it may be better to just PM me (maybe we should appoint wnkryo as official thread starter (and Mod prodder) as I notice he normally is the one to start the discussion threads).
Any comment on this....

I think it's a fantastic idea. Infact, I was just going to make a episode 87/88 discussion seeing how K-F just released those episodes, until I saw this thread. Since the One Piece forums aren't as popular as others, I think this would be a very good idea, and it do away with point less thread making every time K-F releases an episode. It would be nice if we could make this thread into the discussion thread I was going to make, then change the name of the thread every time another new episode releases. I just wish we had a mod for the One Piece forums who would do that :heh:
edit: Never mind about making this thread the discussion thread. I just noticed the sticky on the top.

It indeed is a fantastic idea, xris-sama.
Even though I don't think a unique thread would be the best to discuss all episodes. One thread every episode is released is the best, IMO.
And like wnkryo-san said, we really need a mod here :heh:

Actually Vicious, I like the idea to just change the name of the episode discussion thread stickied on top, and use it to discuss other releases ;). The reason why I say that is because I don't want things to end up like the Naruto forums where you can barely find the thread of a previous episode discussion thread after it is replaced with a new episode discussion thread.
I dunno.
Maybe one big huge gigantic thread of Episode Discussion would be better. Not to insult One Piece forum members, but the Episode Threads don't really have that many people posting in it.
First off let me say while its nice to have an episode discussion thread stickied it isn't even necessary for this forum. Because their aren't enough active threads for the episode discussion thread to pushed down very far. The recent episode discussion threads are always visable on the front page until the next episode comes out, and even then they are still visable on the first page for awhile.
However I do agree with Dranz that one big episode discussion thread stickied at the top is probably best idea.
Oh yeah we need a mod in this forum too.

I don't know about this. I know this section isn't really kickin a lot of times, but even then i think 1 thread for all episodes discussion might get out of hand eventually.

just do it like the Naruto boards.... it's a good idea..... sticky current episode discussion and discard it as new releases come out... you should sticky the manga too.... I've seen people create a thread about one chapter.... and then a couple hours later when I check the board again... there's another thread discussing the same chapter.......
Don't take this the wrong way but do we really need a forum Mod for One Piece?
I know I don't check every thread here but there doesn't seem to be the need for a regular Mod as far as I can see (unlike the Naruto forum, which does need someone to watch over it). If there is a problem or you need some action taken (such as merging threads or making a sticky), then you can always PM myself or one of the other Mods/Admin you see online. If there is something more urgent, then there is the good old http://forums.animesuki.com/images/buttons/report.gif Report button.
I'm not saying the OP forum will never require a Mod, it's just that at the moment it seems the level of posts and the quality (for want of a better word) of the posts and posters doesn't require a constant watchful eye over them. When the OP forum population grows larger then it may come to the point when a Mod is required.
There are a number of responsible posters here (those who have posted in this thread for example :) ) who generally keep things in order, I know you guys have already suggested a Mod but as I mentioned, do we need one, yet?

from wat i can see One Piece forum is one of the "cleanest" forums. One mod would be able to handle this thread with no problems. Im thinking that most people here will just feel more comfortable with a mod getting rid of useless threads and wat not. It may also be that we would want someone to represent the One Piece forum (lol). for example: the 1st thing i think of when i see Dranz's post is that hes the naruto forum mod.
sorry im not making any sense, i lack sleep.

:hmm: Dranz is the Naruto Forum mod so he must appear like that no? if he posts here and keeps the forum controled even better.
I agree with xris this forum isn't that big now that requires it's own mod, this forum has few users and much fewer noobs than some others out there, since Dranz visits it on a daily basis and it appears that xris and NoSanninWa also visit sometimes, they are more than enough to get rid of some stupid threads and some bad posts, however as popularity increases and the number of users increases as well at some point in time a forum mod would come in handy.

Dranz hangs out here also. I don't think it's a bad idea if he mods OP too. Like you said this forum is already pretty clean. He'd just have to clean out a few pointless threads only once in a while.
