This thread is for those of you with questions about the Maria-sama ga Miteru anime or novels. There are many questions that don't need a whole thread to discuss them. A simple practical answer straight from the anime or novel without any speculation can solve these connundrums. If someone has such a question about Marmite which can be solved by answering with facts from an official source, then please ask that question here.
Please don't post in this thread unless you are asking a question or answering one. Please remember that it only takes 1 person to answer a question. And don't speculate! You can only reply with cold, hard, merciliessly unforgivable facts. If you have to speculate, then please just tell the querrant that no answer is known, but here are some facts that might help him make up his own mind.

Make sure you use spoiler tags if your question is about the anime, novel, or any non-anime source. Untagged spoilers are risking a ban. There are two ways to create clearly marked spoiler tags, as shown in the following:
The easy way: By simply clicking on this http://forums.animesuki.com/images/as.global/spoiler.gif icon which can be found in the Quick Reply or Reply to Thread template. This is how I create spoiler tags.
or
The macho way: By using those uber vB codes (http://forums.animesuki.com/misc.php?do=bbcode#spoiler) as shown in the following...

[edit]someone posted a link with all the characters and whatnot... alas, i can't read kanji D:
Oooooh, that's so funny! XD!!! Who are all those people on the top actually... I dunno which anime which that's from...
Below:
Rosa Foetida (Eriko)
Rosa Foetida en bouton (Rei)
Rosa Foetida en bouton's petit soeur (Shimako)
Rosa Chinensis (Youko)
Rosa Chinensis en bouton's petit souer (Yumi - main character, sort of...)
Rosa Chinensis en bouton (Sachiko[-sama!])
Rosa Gigantea en bouton (Shimako)
Rosa Gigantea (Sei)
That's in left-to-right order. Just ofr the record, I like Rosa Gigantea en bouton and Rosa Gigantea the best. ^_^
Thanks for providing that list wao, wish this was information was added to the first ep since it would help so much in working out who's who.
And the faces from the top row are from GitS: SAC :)

okay most accurate source here:
http://mariamite.free.fr/galerie/groupes/chara_UK.jpg
One minor correction: It's Yamayurikai, which in English would be something like Mountain Lily Council.
Also for those who don't speak French, this might help:
blanche=white
rouge=red
jaune=yellow
frere=brother (would put the accent grave in, but I don't know if everyone would be able to view it...)
Also there are similar character charts in the manga, chapters 1-3 of which have been scanlated and are available at http://lililicious.cjb.net

I am not the webmaster (Laurore31 is the webmaster), i am just the guy who did the photoshop work in that picture.
I just did a screen shot of that picture
http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/anime/mariasama/character/character.html
and I replaced Kanji of the names by Romanji. I didn't really translate every thing. Most of the Katakana are translated though.
I also change the resolution of the faces, did a lot of photoshop work and added Rosa Canina. I hope you like it. If there are mistakes, just send a private message and I'll correct it asap.

BTW, that would be from the Cromatie High School parody of Maria-sama. Too bad nobody still fansubs Cromatie High School tho.
BTW if you wanna see another relationship chart I came across this one thru a mailing list I think. Spoilers because I think it has some next year students on it?

I don't read Japanese, but I was told this was the color key
Blue = Friends
Red = Love
Purple = Seour
Yellow = Rivals
Light Blue = Blood Relatives
Green = Dislikes
It seems to work out from what I know and who I recognize on it. It would be cool if someone could put out a translated version of that chart. It's like a Marimite cheat sheet :)
:eyespin: i would translate this but its sooo hard to read!!!! omg omg omg

I would suggest taking this chart with a grain of salt, because it was made by some Marimite fans and reflects their interpretation of certain relationships which may or may not be supported by the novels.

Interesting. I get the "Drill" bit (pun intended, ^o^) but what about "Denpa"? I assume that's short for "Denpatsu", but it doesn't look like she's got "electric hair".
Should there be a second season, I'll be looking out for these two. Wonder who they are..

The actual definition for denpa ( 電波 ) is "electric/modulated waves." The VHF/UHF signals that is used to transmit TV broadcasts and AM/FM bands for radio are good examples of "denpa."
The case used here is a degenerate slang term. You call a person "denpa" if he/she acts extremely weird. Origins comes from a person that acts so strange as if they are transmitting and/or receiving some sort of electromagnetic wave. You sometimes see this in anime for certain characters...most notably Hanajima Saki from "Fruits Basket." Other interesting usages: "doku denpa" (poisonous waves/signals). Many people believe jokingly that Akihabara is transmitting some sort of poisonous signals that brainwashes otakus to buy and go moe~ over anime and ero-games.
In "Maria-sama ga Miteru," Hosokawa Kanako is known as the "denpa" due to her obssesive actions (to put it bluntly: being a stalker) that stems from her twisted image of "my dearly beloved Yumi-sama." She also has a dark past yet to be revealed in which she has a very strong distrust and abhorrence for the male species. Such being the case, Kanako and Touko are clear opposites in which they extremely dislike each other.

Because I've seen too many questions regarding who's who (and had several myself) I've taken the chart one step farther... names!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v432/hooliganj/RelationshipChartNames.jpg
Oddly enough, Yamanobe-sensei is only mentioned by name once in these forums, and then it's as Yamano. I went to the episodes he's in to try to find his given name, but even in the credits, it's just Yamanobe. Oh, well.
For all the other names, they've come up at one point or another in the various threads, usually from kj1980. Thanks to those who can read the novels for putting up with all the weird questions. :)
edit: 'Hasakura' is now 'Hasekura'. I'll leave 'Shimazu' as is, since it's a difference in romanization style, not an actual error, and I prefer the style that reflects the correct pronunciation.
edit: Corrected 'Yamano-sensei' to 'Yamanobe-sensei'. I even mentioned it in the post. That's kind of embarassing. That should make everything accurate.
edit: There shouldn't be any mistakes, please let me know if there are, so I can make corrections.

I'm not sure if this is of any use for anyone or even if I'm posting in the right place but I came across a good web translator program which works in IE its only about 4mb or so download and I have just now used this program for http://mariamite.free.fr/ (the only dedicated Maria site I know of, pls correct me if am wrong :) ) and http://www.gokigenyou.com/ (the official website)
The conversion is not 100% perfect but if your like me and cant read any French or Japanesse it will give u the jist of whats going on.
The program is called maxthon. You can get it here http://www.maxthon.com/ as far as I know this is not an illegal program so this should be ok to post the link on here.
It also converts languages vice versa so this may be useful for non english readers.
err.... Maxthon isnt a web translator.... its an IE frontend that is meant to enhace IE by adding many features, including tabbed browsing, gecko engine, useful toolbars among others. For those who know about MYIE2, its just the new project name.... then again Firefox p0wnz it in no time :p
Thx for the correction  I might have a look at firefox if its that good tho.

I like that. Personally, I would have written the names in the personal-name-first-surname-last format. Furthermore, I would indicate long vowels with macrons.
Anyway, I just noticed the "Deko-chan VS American." That's cute!
Eriko magnifrons (having a big forehead) est; Sei Americana est! :heh:

I tend to take whatever order that person would use when it comes to the name, so Japanese characters get the family name/given name order. If there were any westerners on the chart, the name would have been reversed for them. And diacritical marks tend to make things harder to type and harder to read. The pronounciations might be more accurate, but the doubled up vowels are pretty close, especially if you're somewhat familiar with the hiragana set to begin with.

Does anyone know if there are english versions of the novel out?
I wish they were. They're really hard to read in Japanese.
I doubt we'll ever see commercial translations in English, but you never know: Viz recently translated Novala Takemoto's delightful Kamikaze Girls novel to English. Maybe if that sells well, they'll pick up Maria-sama?
There are some fan translations out there. Google sees all, knows all:
http://www.google.com/search?q=maria-sama+novel+english+translation
I keep links to all the novel translations that I know of at http://www.ziggr.com/mariasama/. That page also includes my own attempt at translating the first novel. I definitely recommend Rosa Chinensis' White Petals translations at http://www.yurizuki.net/white_petals.html and http://www.yurizuki.net/answer.html.

That Youtube link says it's from the Rosa Gigantea fandisk... so I'd assume it really is from that one, since it doesn't seem to match any of the other ~Haru~ Naisho specials.
There are three fandisks that came out this year (or was it last year?), one for each Rose family.

What are the drama CDs?
Does anyone have the OST name and list of tracks in it? I particularly like the ending song for the first season.
What are the drama CDs?
Audio-only "radio plays" where the same voice actresses from the TV animation again act out stories from the Maria-sama books. The drama CDs tend to include a little more detail and depth than the animation, usually squeezing more chapters from the books than what you see in the TV animation.
Obviously, the audio is Japanese. I know of no translations or scripts.
Does anyone have the OST name and list of tracks in it? I particularly like the ending song for the first season.
"TVアニメーション マリア様がみてる サウンドトラック", or "TV Animation Maria-sama ga Miteru Soundtrack". Amazon.co.jp has the details on it, http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B0001927AQ/ including track listings, which I've copied below. The first season ending theme is the last track on the CD (Sonata Blue TV Ver.).

That's the Japanese title. I know of no official English name, as the product is not officially marketed towards an English-speaking market.
That's the first season OST. The second season OST is TVアニメーション「マリア様がみてる~春~」サウンドトラック (TV Animation "Maria-sama ga Miteru~Spring~" Soundtrack). Amazon.co.jp also carries it, along with track listings, at http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B0002RN8F0/

The fansubs you're watching were originally recorded from a TV signal, around 7:30 in the morning (Sundays, I believe). All the second season fansub episodes have this clock. Many Japanese TV stations put a clock on the screen during the morning. Consider it part of the authentic Japanese TV viewing experience. ^_^

Does anyone know the release schedule for the OVA?
This might have been answered more extensively somewhere else on the boards, but I'll do it here again, so you don't have to go looking.
2. Ryakushite OK Daisakusen - 1/31/07
3. Suzukaze Satsu Satsu - 3/28/07
4. Ready, GO! - 5/30/07
5. Ciao Sorella - 7/25/07

One every 2 months?
Hmm i thought it would be 8 episodes. Is it 5 in total?
SleeplessHeart

It will be certainly over 5 OVAs. At the moment, we only have the schedule dates for the first 5 OVAs. Regarding the number of planned OVAs, I am not sure whether it will be 8 or 10 OVAs. Could anyone point out a reliable source to confirm this, so I can put it in the FAQ?
The number 5 has been said for while now. It will cover basically 5 novel of Marimite. One thing I think so me of you are forgetting is that the OVA is 50 minute long. Which really works our to something like 2 normal episode per DVD. If you think in that fashion you really getting something like 10 episode total for the 5 OVA that will be release.
I will be happy if they go past Yumi trip to Rome. Release more OVA that cover the other novel have a bit more drama to them. Yumi really began to focus on getting a Petite Soueur. The rivalry of Touko and Kanako really show up for Yumi attention.

I would love to see more Marimite myself, but I, too, have only the number 5 when it came to the amount of OVA discs planned. Moonphase also says that there will be 5 in all.
Of course, this could always be a test to see how successful the OVA is as perhaps an incentive to start working on another TV series..
...but maybe now I'm getting my hopes a little too high..
On the topic of the OVA, I was wondering if anybody had any information about the OVA being picked up by a fansubbing group. I've been dilly-dallying around the intarwebs for a while, and while it's obvious there wouldn't be a release yet, (long episode which has only been out for about a day) I haven't noticed any groups noting that have even picked it up.
Anybody know anything about this?
(And in my own defense, I've already done a search-oriented barrel-roll).
Thanks!
A while back ago a group did say they will do it. They are the same group who work on the second season. I also recall should the group who work on the first season say that should the group who did the second season not do they will pick it up and do it.

it there any chances that they'll make 4rd season marimite in series after the 3rd season finish
There is always chance in life. I image they will not make a decision tilt about either during the 4th OVA or closer to the 5th OVA whether there will be a 4th season of Maria-sama ga miteru. I can see they will have solid report of the performance of the first 3 OVA and see whether is worth during another season. If you are buying the Marimite stamps, cards, stationary and what ever else if offer in gokigenyou.com and the OVA you are pretty much guarantee another season of Marimite.
If, as reported, Shizuka Kanina's voice actor really did sing those songs we heard in the anime series, I suspect that she must have had at least a year worth of classical voice lessons, or perhaps she was a vocal music major. Can anyone shed more light about the voice actor? I was impressed with her additions to Bach/Gounod's Ave Maria as well as operatic aria from earlier episode ( My memory is faint so I don't remember whether it was the one from Samson and Delialah or O mia babino caro ).

Remember, the best way to increase the probability of a 4th season is to buy those DVDs! (The first-run print of the 2nd DVD is going to run out soon...you've been warned lol)
It's hard to find one in my place. I can't find any DVD or VCD regarding MariMite. So sad. :(

I have a question about the rosaries they use.
If a girl already got a rosary from her grande soeur, is she obligated to give it to her new petite soeur, or can she buy a new one?
If so, wouldn't that mean that Noriko can't get a petite soeur of her own, since she promised to give the rosary back? If not, why didn't Shimako just get another rosary to give her, since the one she got from Sei was so important?
They can do either it pretty much up to the older soeur. If she want to keep the one she got or not. BTW on the trip to Rome one the stop they make is to place that sell Rosaries.

yup you can watch it with two choice of language, original japan language or dubbed english, and the dubbed conversation some does not match :p

it there any chances that they'll make 4rd season marimite in series after the 3rd season finish
it was announced in august that a 4th season of marimite is in production... it is still unknown whether it will be an ova or tv show.
i have a question about the novels... i'll put it in a spoiler just in case.
does yumi have a petite souer now in the novels? i know she asked touko-chan and was rejected at first. has that been resolved?

I don't know the details, but it seems to have been resolved in volume 29, Crown of Roses. You can see the lovely family photo here (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=1291714&postcount=3). To me, Yumi was dumped two volumes back (she was dumped in volume 23, I'm currently at 25). There is soooo much material about Yumi's soeur issue I can't believe it can be resolved in 5 episodes (which season 3 in OVA format was). Let's hope for more than 10 episodes for season 4!

Anyone knows who became Yumi and Yoshino's soeur?
Yes, I asked the same question again because this thread is dead for more than 2 weeks.
I don't mind being spoiled.. as a reminder, please put it as a spoiler tag or PM me.
Heartfelt appreciation to any kind soul! I am looking forward.. Maria-sama is made of WIN!

Let's see...
Who Yumi's seour would be is fairly obvious. The anime production team already gave everyone a heavy spoiler, Touko. Yoshino's seour isa girl named Arima Nana. She should appear fairly early in the 4th season. Nana is one year younger than Noriko/Touko, so at the moment she is 3rd year middle school. A kendo player, and looks like a cross between Noriko and Eriko, and is said to be similar to Eriko personality-wise. You can see Yoshino's seour picture at the image thread.

I see..
So..
1) what happened to Kanako ? Seems like her role in Maria-sama is of little importance.
2) Yoshino's seour is beautiful!
3) The novel went far ahead of the anime, right? When Sachiko graduates, did she took on a similar role of Satou Sei, where occasionally she appears and intentionally/coincidentally look out for Yumi?
4) Thanks for the images of Nana and replies!

1) Kanako, after resolving her family issues, again emphasized she did not want to be Yumi's soeur. She seems to have joined the basketball team, and more recent novel art implies she and Touko are resolving their differences as well.
2) Nana is awesome.
3) The novel's timeline slowed to a crawl through Books 20-30, as the author took forever working through Touko adn Yumi's angst to get them together. So Sachiko has not yet graduated.

That's great, but we are not going to see Yumi with her own seour in the 4th season, nor do I want Sachiko to graduate.. ( I hate reality in this case, just like when the previous roses graduate, I hate it all.. )
It would definitely be interesting to see how Yoshino and Nana gets together, I believe that will be the one of the highlights for the fourth series!
Hi,
I'm a HUGE fan of Marimite and glad to know that the fourth season is happening! Yatta! :D
Just a quick question, does anyone know if the OVA was ever shown on TV at all, in Japan or internationally?
I read the 3rd season (the OVA) was a DVD only release in Japan, but just wondering whether it was broadcast in any TV channels before?
Thanks!

Rosa Chinensis, Gigantea and Foetida are President, Vice-President and Secretary of the Student Council. But which is which?
Konno Oyuki writes in the first novel: http://ziggr.com/mariasama/index.html#p60
There are only three leaders, officially called Rosa Chinensis, Rosa Gigantea, and Rosa Fœtida. These three people share in equal parts the official duties of student council president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and it has been this way for generations.
I interpret this as there is no one-to-one mapping of title to rose; the Rosas and their soeurs all work together to do the work that most student councils perform.

I wonder if anyone could help me to clarify something.
On episode 3 at 15:53
Sei and Yumi are racing to find Sachiko and Kashiwagi when this dialogue occurs
Sei: And I was so sure he would never make a pass at Sachiko!
Yumi: What?
Sei: Birds of a feather can tell.
...that completely mystified me.
Although I deleted the fansubs from my computer I forgot that I'd saved them to a DVD-R (I'll probably have to just throw it out since I can't write over it again) and in the fansubbed version Sei says:
"I know they are related"
Which seems to bear no relation to the line in Nozomi's translation.
Could anyone shed some light on this?

That's believed to be Sei's Gaydar... LOL:eyespin:
Many people argue Sei's gay, and she feels Kashiwagi's gay, too. Therefore her conclusion is Kashiwagi won't be interested in Sachiko -> Sachiko's safe.
Sei didn't know they are engaged at that moment.

Oh, duh. I really should have caught that. :heh:
Kashiwagi is gay as it happens.
Let me just check...
"But, Sachiko-sama. You do like Kashiwagi-san, don't you?"
Then Sachiko-sama looked up. "A long time ago."
Instead of returning the handkerchief she used to dry her hands and head to her pocket, she stuck it on a comparatively clean window, then returned to sit next to Yumi.
"He… Suguru-san, is not a bad person. But he acts only for himself, but he doesn't seem to realize it. He can't understand how other people feel, nor does he bother to even think about it. That's why if he hurts someone, he doesn't understand why, and he doesn't even think about whether he was the cause. Every male in my family is like that."
Sachiko-sama muttered, the fact that they have no ill-will is the most bothersome part.
I see, there are no perfect people in the world, Yumi thought.
"So you began to dislike him after seeing his selfish personality?"
"Hmm. Not exactly, but something like that. He can only love men. Even so, he plans to marry me."
Sachiko-sama was an only child, so she would be used for arranged marriages, preferably to a man who could continue to manage the Ogasawara group. On that note, her cousin Kashiwagi-san seemed to be the perfect fit, so their parents agreed to the marriage.
"They're both public companies, though, so there was no need to forcibly pull someone from the Ogasawara group."
Apparently her grandfather was a stubborn, Meiji-born person obsessed with the welfare of his company. In that case, there was the option of simply adopting Kashiwagi-san and allowing him to inherit the company, but apparently he loved his only grand-daughter, and wished to have Sachiko-sama inherit everything.
"What do you think Suguru-san said, when he came to celebrate my high school entry? We're similar people, so our marriage will certainly succeed. That we should both live freely, without interfering with one another. When I asked, 'What do you mean?' he confessed, 'I hate to tell you this, but I can only love other men.' So he said I should fall in love with someone else, and have their child. He wanted to give everything to my child, as the future heir to the Ogasawara group. They would be related by blood anyways, so he would be able to love him like his own child. … What was he thinking? Making a mockery of people like that."
"A 16-year old high school student, to a girl one year younger."
"Too much cuteness results in a hundred times the hatred. Because of him, my hatred of men grew even stronger."
She tried to crack a joke, but it couldn't have been that simple.
Because Sachiko-sama truly did like Kashiwagi-san.
Before she could tell the person she liked, "I like you," they ended up becoming intended consorts. Even that was hard to digest, but then her hopes of a possible loving relationship was obliterated. –At the age of 15.
That would pervert your thoughts. Who cares about men!
"Then, why don't you have the engagement cancelled?"
"We avoided each other for a year and a half, so there was no chance to bring it up. But it was a good opportunity, so when I brought up it, he got angry."
"In front of Maria-sama!"
It all came together.
"Right."
Everything else was as she knew.
Kashiwagi-san was misunderstood to be molesting, Sachiko-sama announced that they were engaged, Kashiwagi-san went too far and got hit, Sachiko-sama fled after hitting, and Yumi chased her here.
"He doesn't know I used to like him. So he went too far."
"Too far?"
Because Rosa Gigantea seemed to have realized he was a homosexual, he tried to destroy any suspicion. Kashiwagi-san probably thought Sachiko-sama would help him by accepting a kiss. But, that calculation was wrong. He underestimated Sachiko-sama.
Sachiko-sama was right. There was no way she should be able to happily dance with such a partner. Yumi thought it was no surprise that Sachiko-sama would try to get out of dancing the entire time.
Or rather, it would be if we could all read Japanese. ;)

Hi!
This is my first post in this forum thing (joined today...five minutes ago actually)
because I started watching MSGM over the summer aaaand I love it sooo much.
I watch it for Sachiko. And Yumi lol but mostly just Sachiko <3
anyways I have a qestion:
Even if it IS airing in Japan next month....doesn't that mean I'll have to still wait FOREVER for someone to sub it in eng and post it on the internet?
And there was a part I found really confusing....but I can't remember it right now so I'll just post it when I remember it I guess.
Oh I thought of another question!
If Sachiko used to love Kashiwagi (or whatever his name is...suguru?) doesn't that mean she likes guys? unless meeting Yumi made her like girls....which wouldmake her bi?
Plus what happens when she has to marry him? That would suck for her, Yumi, and him because he's gay right?
Does anyone know if they kiss in the manga or novels? And I heard the last novel is coming out soon...or the last manga?
Sorry for so many questions I've just always "guested" this site and was so lazy to ever join. But now that I'm sick in bed I have nothing else to do so yeah, these are all my thoughts lmao.
Sorry!
EDIT:
I remember that really weird part that confused me.
It was in the first OVA, 3rd season thingy where Yuuki asks Yumi what kind of girl she likes....that was kind of weird to me...like...i know he knows she likes Sachiko but by wording it like that it sounded like he was calling her a lesbian or something "what kinda chicks you into sis"ya know?

He ask what type she likes iirc, referring to guys, but she goes on to basically list Sachiko's personality traits. So the moment sort of goes awkward.
So what is this anime/light novel etc about?
So what is this anime/light novel etc about?
Here's a summary of the first season for you, which should do the job.
Yumi is a first year student at the Lillian School For Girls, an exclusive all girl's catholic school. The school has a tradition that older girls take a younger girl as their little sister or "soeur" in order to instruct and look out for them. Though Yumi admires Sachiko, a reserved second year student who is a member of the student council, she has no hopes of being chosen as her soeur. When an innocent encounter leads Sachiko to impulsively ask Yumi to be her soeur, Yumi is suddenly brought into the inner circle of the Roses, who are the members of the student council. With Sachiko at her side, Yumi begins to unravel and understand the relationships between the Roses and their soeurs and figure out her own feelings for Sachiko.
Just so you don't expect the wrong things, this is by no means a yuri series like the mistakenly similar Strawberry Panic. It rather falls into the shoujo-ai/school life territory.

I wouldn't label this show a Yuri anime, though there's still some Yuri elements in the series. Just very well hidden ones.
Question:
In the light novels i know Yumi makes Touko her Petite Soeur....but does anything "develop" past that? i mean i know the 4th season ending frame has Yumi and Touko together.....but Im sure she'll make her, her petite soeur like the novels but does yumi ever develop feelings (like she did with Sachiko) for Touko. And does Touko even like Yumi at all? throughout ova 3 and so far as 4th season she seems to dislike her? or is she just hiding it....
Thx ^_^

Hi, I posted a reply here (hopefully without spoiling too much): http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=2159938&postcount=2
Someone asked in another of the threads about Touko-chan, and Yumi's petite soeur. It caused me to try to remember when Touko-chan first appeared. So I ended up rewatching a good portion of both the first series, and all of the second.
Touko-chan and Noriko-chan both first appeared in Episode 7 of Spring.
Another question...
We know sachiko originally loved her cousin she was supposed to marry. and although it's pretty clear that Yumi see's Sachiko more than "just as a seour"....does Sachiko feel "those" feelings towards Yumi....i can never really tell. Since the series is so ambigious about the homo-erotic relationships between the girls...

Actually thats the point behind it all. Its not suppose to be very straightforward that way. Think about brotherhood, Sisterhood is pretty much the same thing there is a thin line.
Question: Do people consider the Light Novels or the Manga better? I've heard the Novels contain more detailed stuff, but their not available in english from the beginning are they?
I know the manga is scanalated, but does it follow the story? from what i saw of it I like the drawings. (altho sachiko looks diff) but what is the general view of the manga? good? bad? worse than novels? better?
how about compared to anime?

I like the novels better; well, it's much better detailed, especially regards to describing the characters' inner thoughts. The manga is not too bad though. I enjoyed it. I recall it tries to be a bit more "helpful" than the novels, explaining things in somewhat simpler terms. I also had the impression that it was more faithful to the original plot than the anime.
Sorry, it's been a while since I last read it. But in short, I liked it.
Moved demographics question to Maria-sama ga Miteru 4th season discussion (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=47762) thread.
Hi!
I have 3 question regarding Haru episode 07.
I know these are difficult particular questions, but i hope there's a big fan out there who's an expert on this topic.
I'm the translator of the entire series in Hungary, i'm always trying to add as much note as possible. I was able to find out which temple Shimako and Noriko went to in OVA 01, but this seems too much for me.
In addition to my admiration towards japanese culture, my favorite characters are Shimako and Noriko, that's why i want to do this properly.
1.: What is the name of the buddhist temple Norkio visited in Kyoto to see the Kannon-zou (which is shown to the public once in every 20 years) the day before her entrance exam to her first-choice school?
2.: Name of the temple run by Shimako's father. According to a web source it's on the outskirts of Tokyo. Or maybe it's fictious?
3.: Some basic info about that sculptor named Yuukai, creator of Miroku-zou statute kept at this temple.
I get a feeling that my question will remain unanswered, but i'm grateful in advance just for reading this.
