From the sound of this.....I can only smile......eventhough I want to crash something hard......sounds like a disappointing chapter. Will have to wait and see. :upset:

On the other hand, Charles got to not only share several minutes of bathing naked with Ichika, she even gets intimately physical with him... and asides from his obvious awkwardness in the beginning, he didn't seem to mind later. :nod:

Can't have a tournament in this school without it being called on account of world threatening problems. Charlotte and Ichika have some really nice teamwork going on, being able to turn Laura's AIC into nothing but an 8-bit shield. I get the feeling this week is going to involve things being corrupted in unpleasant ways - though Laura can and was saved. And all the better. Walls are being broken down this week.

I'm in shock. 9/10 (minus 1 for more Ichika idiocy)

Greatest moments:
- Houki hitting and then punching Ichika so strong he leaves ground for a second (someone make a gif out of this, quick!)
- Charlotte's bath scene u-huuuuh... Ichika no ecchi.
- Rin turning into Grief mode and evolving into a Witch which, because what she does from this point on will be pointless, seeks Ichika's life
- Finally, Laura's first dere moment... and at the same time kiss! Ichika no baka.

Next week is yet another obligatory beach episode. Nothing to complain about, especially seeing that saucy preview.

The best part of this episode was when Ichika got a punch+ a kick from Houki. Normally, in harems, the guy don't deserver half of what comes in his way. But this one?F*ck yea he deserves it.

I laughed so much.

The battles were great as ever, except for hte clichéd lines, which just work when we actually like the characters. Does anyone here likes Ichika anyway? The only original line there, was from Charlotte. If he loses..... hehehehe. Well, I don't think he would mind since he is gay anyway.

HAHA at Ichika reaction at the end:

The fun thing is, he got kissed and made a depressed face afterwards. And Charlotte is so obviously throwing herself at him, but he doesn't do a thing.

Man, he is so stupid/dense.

As I thought, Charlotte saves the show. Her voice+visuals+gentleness+the rest are perfect.

I will give this epi a 6. 5 because of charlotte 1 the rest.

Man, Charlotte saved this episode as usual. Great IS fights with wonderful teamwork from Ichika and Charlotte. Charlotte is not only cute and sweet but badass in the battlefield as well, just look at that Kyousuke-style pwnage. Even as ichika run out of energy to fight, Charlotte gladly gave him her's to continue fighting. LOL at Charlotte wanting ichika to wear a girl's uniform if he lost.

Followed by comes Houki's 2 hit fatal combo on ichika, the prick seriously deserved it if not much more of it. Then comes the highlight of the episode, the bathing scene!!! With Charl wailing "Ichika no ecchi" yet again and the skinship between the two of them deepens the relationship further.

And meh for Germany forcing a kiss on the prick, that pushy style is not gonna cut it. +1 for Rin bursting in IS-mode for massive ownage. YAY for Charlotte finally wearing the girl's uniform that shows off her nice legs. BUT HEAVY RAGE AT THE ED!!!!

Overall France still wins despite Germany forcing her way through

Man It's so rare that i give an anime episode a 10 these days but this episode was balanced and of course the clichés were still in the episode but they were well executed, Charlotte stole the show again and she got more development between her and ichika,(it's strange that she was placed last on the ending though, cause she clearly keep scoring points on ichika).

The fight were well made nothing wrong with that, the animation was superb as always.

Okay, maybe it's the translation, but can someone help explain to me Laura's behavior? The way I see it, it goes like this:
Laura: My savior dares shows a dere face!? RAGE RAGE RAGE. Then she lost, so she freaks out and unleashes that...Valkyrie Trace thing, which Ichika again defeats. After reminiscing, she woke up to see Chifuyu, which tells her to what I guess to forget the past and live for the future, and to be herself and not trying to be her. I'm not 100% sure why she's laughing after that, but I can still follow. But how that being herself --> promptly kissing someone and declares him to be her waifu, the person who just hours before she hates with all her might?

I mean, I'm not complaining, and out of all them she's the most likely to do something impulsive like that, it's just considering their history it'd make more sense for the others to do it first...well, at least the competition is heating up now, what's with Charlotte gender revealed as well.

Another complaint from me is that Houki went down WAY too easily. Yes, I know she's the least talented IS user out of the other three, especially Laura, and they need to focus on her more. But yeah...a few slashes here and there, but apart from that she's just fodder.

Oh, and while Houki did something useful this episode, and Laura scored major points, I'm still in Charlotte camp. Seriously, they're perfect together, both in battle and outside. The part where she's in bath and saying Ichika no Ecchi again doesn't hurt either. Speaking of which, her seiyuu Hanazawa Kana celebrates her birthday today, congrats and continue the good work (where is Kanon :heh:?)

I thought the most interesting part was the blade materializing, which reminded me so much of Shaman King. I totally went OVERSOUL in my head.

A little more screen time for Houki's better than nothing I suppose. Gotta LOVE Charlotte destroying Laura for that couple of seconds though.

The battle was great, Charlotte being all kick ass. Houki went down fast, she didn't even stand a chance. :I

Anyway, absolutely loved the Ichika x Charlotte bath scene, more points to France! O:< -waves flag- Only thing that makes me sad is that now Charlotte will have to move out of the room she shares with Ichika. If I were her, I'd keep my real gender a secret for a lil while longer...you know, to keep on scoring more point on Ichika. Because let's face it, being in the same room as the guy you like is a very nice advantage. xD And then when I´d finally get the guy, ONLY THEN would I reveal my true gender. :P

Can't wait for next week. :D

People really need to stop commenting on that, it's been explained a lot. ED order had nothing to do with their points with Ichika, it's just the most recent addition that runs next to him.

I liked the ep, Laura was my favorite from reading spoilers before the show aired so I'm happy that I finally got to see her steal her kiss.

Yes, i'm glad i liked Laura from the beginning. Even though Charlotte has all the good points and stole the show with her bath scene, Laura has the last laugh. So another ep this week where a kiss signifies marriage. Liked how she said your my husband and it's final.

Well got to see Laura's past. Suspected something with the eye was machine like so that explains the nano-machines, but didn't think she was genetically enhanced. So the VT System is what made Laura's IS transform and the reason why it looked like and resembled Chifuyu was because she wanted to be like her. So the reason she fell for Ichika is the same reason she liked Chifuyu.

Ichika was bad-ass when he only had his sword and that little armor to be able to defeat Laura. He's becoming better and better enough to look over his denseness imo. Though his reaction at the end was as dense as ever. Also he thought of only taking Houki out on a date for shopping, liked how she beat him up.

Props to Charlotte for using a page from Kyousuke's book. Didn't think she would reveal herself to the school, but its better because we get to see more of those legs. Is it because her whole mission was to gather data from the tournament, and now that it's cancelled she can't finish it? Well everyone's reaction to the news was great especially Laura.

This was the most win episode of the series so far. Awesome battle, with Charlotte being such a bag of hidden tricks. Love that spike arm.

I can't say I was really excited by this episode considering how awkward it was executed but well...

First, the match was a total mess with the camera not really giving a proper focus for the action (such like a zoom on Houki swinging her sword, then only afterward focus on Charlotte on the receiving end), which is worse with recycled animation sequences patched here and there quite obviously (most notable part was Ichika attacking Laura after realizing something is odd).

But again, the way they are handling Shield energy is just a chore: Byakushiki was shown with a value going like above 80, but suddenly dropping dry with an obvious alert (whereas it didn't happened in the previous occurence). Now, it is perhaps another nitpicking, but it just confirms that the energy blade is actually the shield nullifying attack, which means Ichika is just running dry almost all the time, because he doesn't seem to practice "pin point strikes" (therefore explaining why he was so low on energy back in Episode 7).
It is just... a frustrating to see a decently built universe (if you deliberately omit few points), but in practice, the action doesn't really go on the same direction.

At least, the animation wasn't bad for the non recycled sequences, although the way how it was stitched was a bit a glaring flaw.
On the positive side, the presence of an actual strategy and execution of it, with tactics being changed here and there was definitely a good sight. It is certainly a proper way to deal with a fight of this kind.

As for the characters, color me as surprised and puzzled like Houki regarding Ichika: it is all good to have some admiration for their elder sister, but reckless reactions like these didn't exactly seem in line with what we were presented so far, and it just makes the whole deal harder to believe so. Overall, it really seems they wanted to make a huge unecessary connection between the Orimura siblings, despite we had various scenes beforehand.

Meanwhile, I'm still rather neutral regarding Laura. The whole deal almost look way too similar to Cecilia's "switch" although the reasons are obviously drastically different. I would have been slighty less annoyed if they didn't pull flashbacks right in the middle, leading to a momentum break.

In the end, Charlotte is again the notable saving grace this week, and the bath scene was surprisingly good in term of relationship development, instead of your expected fanservice antics.

Quite an average episode I guess...

I thought the episode was good, though not perfect, for me. A definitely refreshing change to see tactics / teamwork in a battle (taking out the "weak link", then ganging up and exploiting Laura's AIC weakness, etc.) and I personally hope for future battles (if any left in this anime season of IS) to have more of such (well, I'll prolly jump ship to the novels / manga once they're translated).

Charlotte seems to be an exceptionally awesome IS pilot and she complements our charging shounen hero well. Just a bit of a shame that her IS isn't as powerful (technology-wise) as the others we've seen to complement her piloting skills. And yes, I initially thought the bath scene would be mindless fan service but I personally felt that it was a nice relationship upgrade / boost between her and Ichika. Also, HNNGGG.

Still not overly excited about Laura even if she "got the last laugh" at the end but I'll give her another episode before really saying much. Having said that, I think she's slowly growing on me so...who knows? (with that preview showing...an interesting scene) :heh:

I believe she was distracted by her own attempt at wowing the crowd with the revelation, SHE WAS A GIRL and possibly missed out on the whole thing. . :D It's also possible she was blasted by the intrusion of two IS equipped ladies who have total disregard for doors and walls. :heh:

Although you might also reconsider what word Laura was actually using. :heh:

When the time comes for a priest to declare them man and wife, Laura will obviously be pronounced as "Man", while Ichika the "Wife." That is where Laura kisses the bride. Brilliant!

Eh? I was able to calm down a little during the end, but the "story" that was before the end, in other words, the entire episode reminded me of the Chaos of Kabutoborg... Only not in a good meaning, but painful meaning... Everything... was just so... bad! I couldn't believe it myself... If I was an anime character, I'd be like (;;;O;;O;;; ) or something like that..............
As for the end......... Yeah, yeah, Eyepatch is now part of the harem. Her falling for Ichika probably topped Cecilia's "falling in love" in randomness...

I guess if there was something good to say about the episode, it was Ichika getting beat up by Houki. Yeah...

PS: Eyepatch's running... is normal! Most normal, anyways. Then Rin, then Houki, then Charles, then Cecilia.
PPS: She really was Cinque-nee after all... Not only appearance, but story-wise...

ok Laura really took me by surprise in this episode. I agree with the whole class in the ehh!? moment. I knew she was going to join the harem eventually but not in that way. Funny how she went from hating him to I am going to be your wife dere mode in about a day.

I also loved the part where Houki beat up Ichika for being dense. If Charlotte was really a boy he should have been the main male protagonist he isn't nearly as dense as our current main protagonist or maybe Ichika's friend that lived off campus that appeared for that one episode.

But no.. they had to make it a joke. Oh well. The whole ChifuyuxIchika ordeal was pathetic to say the least.

Moving on to Laura. Totally random revelations and even more random change of heart. Like I said in her character thread, while it was bad enough that other girls were falling for Ichika for no apparent reason than being defeated by him or "I will protect you too" etc., it was really not sufficient for Laura given how she was literally trying to end his existence and full of hatred for him seconds ago. At least she doesn't deny her interest and is gutsy enough to take charge though. Not even close to Charlotte in terms of awesomeness but better than every other girl simply for being awesome enough to admit her feelings, however awkwardly. I didn't like that she was blushing when she pronounced Ichika her wife. Would have been better if she had said it matter-of-factly.

And I would have saluted her if she had chosen to turn a lesbian and pursue Chifuyu while only looking out for Ichika. Not happening with this crap harem, I guess.

And finally, the good part. Charlotte was fucking awesome this time too. And I am glad they didn't ruin her character off the shelf. That bath scene was the only non-random relationship advancement scene in this entire show so far. She is the only girl who has been properly built. And she was the only one who didn't give a heinous reaction to that kiss. I would have loved it if they had included a smile from her though. Just the type she was giving Cecilia and Rin in infirmary the other day. You know, the smile that says "Ara ara you want him too now, do you? Unfortunately for you, I am the only goddess in the temple of his heart. Kiss him all you want, that's about all you are getting off him anyway." You know, the cruelly benevolent type :heh:

I'm suffering from a severe fever + virus, so the last 2 minutes of that show were way funnier than I thought they should have been. Random girl smashing through the wall to attack him, the kiss, and even Charlotte wanting everyone to know she's a girl was just simply awesome. With the announcement of yet ANOTHER new classmate, I was rolling my eyes at that point saying 'Oh now who is it?'. Hehe :)

This episode started off strong but then... stalled out.

The first part of the battle was well executed, good two-on-two action. Well... more like two-on-one, however after VTS or whatever was activated things got a bit murky.

Just like with Cecilia's transition to falling for Ichika, Laura's was rushed ahead as well, it doesn't happen quite at lightspeed in the novel, but I guess this is a 12 episode show... I still don't like it though.

Almost all battle results have been either no contest because of outside forces or a loss for Ichika because he ran out of power yet again at a key moment, it's becoming kind of stale.

I'm not a Laura fan at all, probably because she's a dead ringer for Soma Peries from Gundam 00 (wasn't a big fan of her) and her sob backstory didn't really garner all that much sympathy from me.

Poor Cecilia, Rin and Houki though... ever since the emergence of Charlotte and Laura these three characters might as well be extras, and with the harem this large I don't think they'll be able to do each character justice with the time remaining.

And finally... in the back of my mind I wish there were main girl in the show who WASN'T head over heels for Ichika, having 5 girls all battling for a piece... well I've seen that shtick before too many times to count.

All in all, the substandard tail end cancelled out the strong start of the episode, and I hope there's some improvement next week.

EDIT: I would've liked to see Charlotte remain undercover for an extended period but I know that doesn't follow the source material... also... I prefer her in pants.

May her miraculous voice continue to save shows like Infinite stratos for years to come.

Charlotte was once again the saving grace of this episode. Everything else was terribly mediocre. The fight was a total mess, and Laura's sudden face turn was even worse. At least try to make it a little believable, would you? There exists something called gradual character development. I admit she looked very cute in the final scene (which I found hilarious, finally a girl who understands Ichika's not a man!), but it's far from being enough to make me defect. I shall remain loyal to France and the Lady Charlotte.

Back to Charlotte. She fought cleverly, unlike Cecilia and Lin last week (Poor Houki, she got owned so badly :heh: ). Great use of her weaponry and excellent teamwork. She and Ichika made a very good team, it's like those two are on the same wavelength...:)

The bath scene was the highlight of the episode. Charlotte is playing all her cards right. She's way more aggressive than the other girls, yet she isn't as forceful as Laura. She's picked up on Ichika's denseness ("sometimes I think you're doing it purpose" :heh: ) and therefore knows how to handle him. She's just perfect.

I'm so glad she won't have to hide her gender anymore. Right on time for the mandatory beach episode! Moreover, we'll be able to admire her beautiful slender legs all the time now. I also hope she'll wear the female plutsuits from now on (pseudo swimsuit + zettai ryouiki = pure win).

As much as I like Charlotte, I hate to say she's going to be a participant in a plot point that I will totally ridicule if/when it happens: The entire school including the student body and administration deciding to forgive her for what basically amounts to espionage and attempted theft of industrial secrets.

But let's cross that bridge when we get there. Today we get more of the steaming pile of goodness that we've come to expect from Infinite Stratos: Decently animated fights (although it looks like that drained the budget from other places) followed by characterization that is seemingly treated as an irritating afterthought, including back stories that appear to have been written in 5 minute brainstorming sessions, Ichika pulling an inexplicable level of skill out of thin air, and character 180's for no good reason. Laura hates Ichika for stupid reasons, Laura changes mind about Ichika for equally stupid reasons. She's a carbon copy of Brit-chan and if past events are any indication (ie: yes they are) she will find herself on the back-burner after all fanservice situations relating to her have been milked dry. Ichika, who was just calling this girl a bitch and a bastard for imitating his sister's combat style, trips flags by pointlessly running into suicidal situations and swearing to protect her, as if this episode needed another dose of inanity. Did everyone in this show with the possible exception of Chifuyu jam markers into their cerebral cortices?

Well, we saw Charlotte in a bath, although the enjoyment of a fine Charlotte is being ruined by her attraction to a lout with gravel for brains.

Pretty nice episode. Good teamwork from Charlotte and Ichika. Laura was arrogant, and Houki... well, the fact that she isn't a good pilot to start with and she was using a training IS meant she had no chance to begin with in a fight with personal Is's involved. In fact, looking at it from that perspective, her performance wasn't bad.

The final battle with the Valkyrie Trace was rather interesting. It's nice to see that Ichika respects his sister so much that he would pissed off at a copy of her that looks pretty shitty too.

That said, I must commend Houki's combo there. I really do think he does some of it on purpose, you know.

Laura's addition to the harem, considering the fact that she has no social skills at all, it's a logical step. She likes him, therefore he is her husband. Direct thinking. Houki's face was win, though.

The end of this episode was a huge WTF moment. I knew Laura was destined to fall for Ichika but the way she passionately smooched him out of the blue was simply insane. My jaw literally dropped after that. :heh: Truly the best part of the episode, although it was slightly offset by Ichika's unbelievably dorky reaction.

At the start of the battle, when Houki said "Don't forget about me," it felt like she was talking to the author.

Laura's past was mostly fine, I like the child soldier trope a lot, but the reason she has the grudge on Ichika is really weird and implausible. As long as Laura knew Chifuyu, Chifuyu always had a soft spot for Ichika. It was simply moronic for Laura to think that Ichika 'changed' Chifuyu for the worse, since that 'changed' Chifuyu was the only Chifuyu Laura knew.

That was a nice, cute bath scene with Charlotte. Unfortunately, I don't expect much more out of her because the focus will definitely shift to Laura now, and especially that she decided to reveal her gender to the school.

Apparently, the writer thinks that attempted murder is funny and simply romantic. :mad: Are Rin and Cecilia even characters anymore? They just seem like mere shadows of their former characterizations, tools for developing the other characters like Chalotte and now Laura. I'm afraid Charlotte will get the same treatment soon. This writing is a disgrace for consistent character development. Even cheaply writing characters off like putting them on a bus is more preferable to this character decay.

This is what confused me. It's because Chifuyu cares for her brother that she can be this strong. And it's because of her brother, going to save him when he was kidnapped, she went to Germany to be an instructor.
I just couldn't understand Laura's hatred towards Ichika.

I've decided there's no point in thinking too much about this series. It's 12 episodes long and they've tried to cram in a giant harem, thus relegating some to just be on screen because they're in the harem.
I have to say though, as long as Ichika doesn't just fall in love with Chifuyu (I will rage) and then they pull out the not-blood-related card (which is just a safety route, I will rage again) then I can say that this was an alright show.

First things first: Skywalker Ichika is awesome, and then:

- very good battle scenes between Laura's team and Ichika's. Teamwork >>> all.
- Ichika's going out with Houki ....absolutely priceless lol wtf.
- Charle... I mean Charlotte... Indeed she's the best for Ichika and totally compatible with him whether battle or skinship.
- Everyone realizing Charles is actually Charlotte and had been sharing room and bath with Ichika - lulz.

Now for the bad part..... Laura suddenly went 180 degree and falling for Ichika, WTF with the kiss. No character development and interaction...lame.

Nevertheless, mad props to our man Ichika for finally getting a complete set. Looking forward for next ep :D. Man this show is really a guilty pleasure for the season. Harem generic as heck, but completely enjoyable.

Japanese Girl lose some reputation after her punch and kick towards Ichika unless he is a masochist aside from being dense.
French Girl reveals her true self to everyone so she can be lovey dovey with Ichika outside the room as well, after obtaining a lot of flags from Ichika.
China Girl plans to kill her boy along with herself.
German Girl plans to use zerg rush and win the game instantly without others interference.

This episode is added on my usb brain, along with other Kana Hanazawa episode favorites from other anime.

Charlotte is easily the best character in this series though. Loved the excellent team combat with her and Ichika. Never thought we'd see something that had that solid level to it. The combination with him and Rin the other episode was pretty unstable, but here it worked well. They covered for each other well and would have had a very nice win if Laura hadn't used that weird system to throw things into chaos. But even then a smart power transfer from Charlotte helped things to work out.

Have to agree Charlotte handled things well. She's slowly raised up a ton of flags with Ichika, gotten into close contact quite a few times, and clearly has gotten him to recognize her as a girl to think about. Now she can walk around freely and be more open with her actions.

I can't believe how far Rin especially has fallen as a character. Her weak fighting was bad enough, but at the end here she's just lost it. She got all over Houki for swinging her sword at someone who might not be able to defend, but then she attacks Ichika with her IS while blasting through the school!? Her character has just hit rock bottom.

The development of some of the girls has really suffered though. Maybe it's due to the length of the series? Seems like Cecilia and Rin got about one episode (if that) then faded away.

Agreed. Cecilia actually had a character in ep 1 and 2 but went downhill from 3 onwards when she's degraded into an Ichika fangirl. Rin sufferred similar fate with Cecilia only getting 2 eps worth development before joining the fanclub. Houki had some rather decent backstory but too less interaction with Ichika and her tsundere denial isn't much of a help. Laure spent 2 eps being a bitch before miracalously joining the harem.

Imo Charles so far got the best development and interaction with the hero with only 4 eps worth where each ep really added her characterization. Finally her gentle personality and honesty really helps her getting the edge over the other girls.

The problem is that Ichika was not even hinted having such obsession. To begin with, he was portrayed as basically a "go home club", and didn't really practiced Kendo until he get in touch with Houki (note that I wonder how he could have the time to practice Kendo AND Iaido/Kenjutsu).
So having Ichika going panzer about it was basically nonsensical and not really constructive to his character, to the contrary.

Ichika would see red at the Morph Chifuyu that Laura took on. Laura's image of strength was Chifuyu so it makes sense that the VT morph took on Chifuyu's appearance. It was an external 'mind rape' on Ichika - using his sister whom he does love and hold in high regard to literally crush him.

If your own family member whom you look up to suddenly tried to kill you, wouldn't you freak out a bit? And THEN you learn that it's some imposter just messing with you? You wouldn't care any more - you'd kill that imposter for daring to wear the likeness of your family member to kill you and not so much for the kill attempt itself.

There's a good reason/chance that when mind rapes fail, it is usually followed by someone getting their ass kicked.

Oh my, there is too much turn around in this episode.

For the bath scene, i feel like we only the half of the scene . . . .:frustrated:, more of it Ichika did have towel on his head, WHERE is Charlotte towel :love:. Cahrlotte do her best to get Ichika out from his gay zone. In my opinion Charlotte is aggressive in soft way.:)

Luckily Laura now willingly help Ichika get out from his gay zone to, because she is one of girl who aggressive in hard way.:eyespin:

Great Episode and I enjoyed the battle to the point where Ichika got pissed at Laura and the VS system. I mean really he's just taking an unnecessary risk with wanting to take on Laura in that state with only partial IS mode when the instructors could of easily handled the situation.

But anyway it was another good episode with Charlotte doing great again and another "Ichika no ecchi" moment which literally made me laugh.

Have to say I was surprised over Laura's sudden kiss and why Ichika couldnt call up Byakushi himself when Rin attacked. Also Charlotte's reveal as a girl didnt really make sense.

Yay, Houki beats the shit out of Ichika for being a retarded moron again. I honestly don't usually like it when female characters do that but for Ichika I'll make an exception because he really does deserve it. Unlike Charlotte I have no doubt that he really IS doing it on purpose.

Oh my God, bathing with Charlotte. The fact that Ichika probably still doesn't realise Charlotte wants to do him only adds to his retardedness. I thought Natural Selection would've dealt with him a long time ago. Well it probably did. It gave him such ridiculous logic bending charm that makes a harem in the hope that one of them will eventually find it's mark, and that's how his genes have survived.

And then a whole lot of shit happens. Charlotte comes out of the closet (if she could do that from the start then what was the porblem in the first place?), Rin tries to kill Ichika for no reason (Yeah I kinda am pissed off about that. Not funny at all). And then Laura kisses Ichika and I was like...

...read the damn novel. The anime direction messed it up pretty badly for Laura. Right now, if things were truer to the book, we'd be having WW2 all over again with Germ and Franc going for each other. Yes, the book actually MADE LAURA'S CHANGE BELIEVABLE.

But no. Its still GO CHARLOTTO because of all those bits that were cut out. :(

Also, is just pretty normal that the main male character doesn't seem to know that he has an harem, and I'm not bothered by that, that's because if he know that a bunch of girls like him than the commedy part of the harem thing is less funny, or at least I think so.

Same goes to me. I think it's normal. Cause I've seen a series which the main male lead who is as dense as Ichika.

Anyway, I did voted for a perfect 10 here.

Team tactics with Ichika/Charlotte were good, the rest of the battle was not... I don't even wanna get into it.

On to the meat of the episode: YES! Want more. Charlotte is obviously trying to seduce Ichika and I love every minute of it. Her attempts actually get Ichika's "blood flowing" unlike Houki/Cecilia/Rin who haven't found out how to break Ichika's dense-barrier. Laura's laugh in the hospital bed was cute and her final scene was hilarious. Could not stop laughing. I'm okay with her half-assed explanation for crossing over into the dark side because she looked damn cute making Ichika her wife.

I'm pretty sure that point won't even be touched upon in the anime. Everyone is just going to pretend nothing ever happened.

Sadly, now that Laura has officialy entered the competion, I'm afraid Charlotte will take the backseat for a while. I'm already slightly annoyed her reaction to the kiss wasn't shown.

I think they don't show Charlotte's reaction because she has no need to be jealous of the others. At least that's what I'd like to believe. Rin had that attitude too, and look at her now...

This episode is Laura centered as it shows a lot of her past and circumstances which tie her that different colored eye. I do feel sorry that she had to undergo a complete body change that may have made her into a sort of cyborg at a young age and I also never liked human scum asses who as a means make humans into non humans as end to having superior weapons. It was the same in Saikano and so it is in this case. The fighting was done pretty well IMO. The ending just came out of no where though Laura went in for the kill with the first kiss. the others girls are left standing around with expressions like "that bit****!", "I'm the childhood friend it should be me!".... That kiss and ""You are going to be my Wife"" were completely unexpected and just look at the faces of the other girls were AWESOME! This show can make me laugh and cry (not from sadness) and still keep me coming back next week. On that note the beach episode is up next. Yes this episode was full of win.

Pretty nice teamwork of Ichika/Charlotte. Houki got the short end of the stick with her default IS and was put out ot commission quite fast. Too bad :heh:

As expected, AIC has an important flaw that can be exploited in team matches and Laura was forced to activate Valkyrie Trace, which shape-shifts the frame in addition to increasing the power (and lowering the defense too, apparently). Even though the match was cancelled, this is the first time Ichika actually...wins. Yay.

Bath time and more development for Charlotte, cool. And more censored scenes. Not cool at all, 8-bit...

Then, the hilarious final scene with Laura stealing Ichika's first kiss and taking him as her wife, "no objections allowed". Priceless.

For next week: the obligatory, unmissable, anticipated BEACH episode. The potential is limitless with all the female characters in the anime.

I finally caught up with all the episodes and i must say i enjoyed the episode quite a bit.

Ichika and and Charlotte with their tactics managed to come out on top. I was highly impressed by their team work, although Laura's IS had nearly overwhelming offensives and defensive strength Laura herself and her IS had flaws. Which the duo exploited to the fullest. Taking Houki out quick and fast so they could double team Laura was a smart move. Laura was not use to fighting against coordinated attacks and Ichika surprisingly found her IS's weakness. It was a good fight i felt bad for Houki her run of the mill IS just couldnt cut it.

I was not expecting Laura to land that big fat one of Ichika at the end but damn was it funny and i think she just and the newly out of the closet Charlotte just made enemies out of every girl in the school lmao. Whats even funnier is Ichika is the wifefu LMAO

So with this i guess all the girls have gathered even though im pretty sure Houki will win out in the end if we do get a love interest conclusion

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I'm thinking Houki would eventually win. But in the mean time, I'm enjoying whatever screen time Charlotte has. And always feeling she's wasted on Ichika rather than myself. :p

I have a feeling there is yet more girls to add to the harem.. But I'm wrong here :heh: well if you add the entire academy, then that is indeed a large harem :p but Houki winning with how far Charlotte has gotten, then a miracle event must occur then :uhoh:

Random thoughts on the episode.

The battle was a little disappointing. Not bad, the CG is actually pretty good, but it wasn't as awesome as I'd dared hope.

Shut up Ichika. Just shut up; please. I know harem leads are often undeserving, but it's been a while since I actually despised the main lead.

More Charlotte screentime! Every second with her on screen is gold, GOLD. Hanazawa Kana is always brilliant, but she's outdone herself here. Cutest character in eons. Looking forward to Charlotte "serving openly" from now on.

This law has been truthful in many animes so it would be quite tough for the anime to take another direction from this law. But if they don't follow this law, then they will merely just keep the harem around for comical situations.

But Houki might have some interesting development that will make people love her as well.

I kind of find it hilarious that Charlotte's swimsuit resembles a hazard sign. It's almost like she's genre-aware of what would happen if Ichika is exposed to her in a swimsuit for extended periods of time.

Well, Charlotte is hazardous material, so I find it quite appropriate for her to wear a swimsuit with this pattern. This way, nobody can complain in case she does something out of the blue (or rather something happens to her and Ichika out of the blue), because you're supposed to be on alert in direct proximity to hazardous substances XD

I would expect a harem ending of sorts anyway tbh... but who knows, the novels are still in single figures.. the author might have noted the extreme popularity of Charlotte... I would think the novels are at a stage where this influence could happen.. (and this is not an invitation for novel readers to pop in and agree/disagree)

As much as I love Charlotte and want her to win, it's obvious that Houki is the main girl here just like Index is the main of Toaru Index, Naru was the main of Love Hina, etc. And it's only rarely that the main girl doesn't win.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if I'm wrong, but I'm not counting on it; we're either going to get an open ending or a Houki ending. More likely the former if there isn't going to be a season 2, since this series is only going to be 12 episodes if I recall correctly. (not much time to solidify Houki as the winner of the harem)

You got a point there. So I'm gonna say that since it's a light novel there's a chance that they won't follow the same pattern that has been use everywhere else. If you manage to see other harem/romance/whatever type series that's based on a game or a manga, they would always reveal to you within the first chapters or moments the destined girl who will take it all and everyone else is just...nice scenery. The sign? (She'll be sparkling like an albino vampire in a sunny day...) The formula is old, but it's how they do it I guess. Though it doesn't hurt to mix it up once and a while so it won't get too predictable...at least that what the people (me) want...
