Natsume Yuujin-chou san! I can't wait for it! Also I'll probably check out the Hakuouki OVA's... just cause...

Natsume is hands down a must. Might try No.6. Dantalian no Shoka...maybe.

What I'm definitely watching. Ordered in level of interest:

Sacred Seven: Sunrise original anime with Geass character designs and mecha, plus mahou shoujo item transformations with power suits and final fantasy monsters? Yes, please. My only reservation is the "school battle" tag which reminds me of how excited I was for Star Driver which ended up letting me down, but hopefully this won't follow a monster of the week formula and lead into a story that is bogged down by its own attempts at making school life antics 50% of the story.

Blood-C: The next entry in the Blood franchise with CLAMP at the helm. Pretty much says everything.

Dantalian no Shoka: Interested in seeing how GAINAX's first attempt at adapting a light novel will turn out. And of course, just because it's GAINAX makes it an instant watch for me.

Kamisama Dolls: Sounds a lot more interesting than the promo art would have you think, so that juxtaposition piqued my interest.

Mayo Chiki: feel. That is all.

The IDOLM@STER: A-1 Pictures idol moe. What could go wrong? ( ゚∀゚)アハハ八八ノヽノヽノヽノ \ / \/ \

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu: First season was entertaining.

Manyuu Hikenchuu: Meh...why not.

Ikoku Meiro no Croisee: Looks boring as fuck and like a Gosick continuation, but I'll check it out because Satelight is producing.

What I might watch:

Natsume Yuujinchou San: Haven't watched the first two seasons yet, but I've heard it's pretty good so I'll check them out.

Nekogami Yaoyorozu: Not sure if I want to waste my time on something that looks like it has no potential at all, but I'm interested in seeing what AIC+ can do when it's given the head production role, so I might check this out.

Appleseed XIII: Haven't watched the first series but I might.

Hm, this is the first season since I started watching anime regularly that I won't be watching a Noitamina show. Neither of them interest me at all. Man, Noitamina sure is going in the gutter. I thought [C] might turn it around, but it looks like crap now that I've seen the PV. Hopefully Ano Hana, which I have faith in since it's the Toradora/Railgun team, will get the job done for at least this season.

I definitively watch Mayochiki! and Dantalian no Shoka.

Hmm, well, I'm interested in a total of three shows so far (maybe more depending on new versions of the chart). That's probably a good thing since I have so many shows I'm interested in for spring that I can use my free time to catch up with them (and do other things, of course).

I still can't believe a tentative chart is out already. It boggles my mind at how fast the anime bloggers of the internet go.

Here's what I'm watching (no particular order):

Usagi Drop: Yen Press had better speed up the release schedule for this series now that the anime is out. Ahem. I loved the manga for this series and was really, really excited when I heard the announcement of the anime adaption. Production I.G. is a fairly high quality studio (at least from what I've seen of them) so it looks like (from the production art, at least) that the anime is going to stay true to the wonderful manga art.

No. 6: Well, the summary was interesting, at least. Plus, the character designs are cute. Bones is. . . varying in quality although they can produce some top notch stuff so I'm keeping my hopes up for this series.

Uta no Prince: I think I spazzed enough about this series in the respective thread. Hot guys, school uniforms that look like suits, and singing. Need I say more?

That said I'm really digging the artstyle for Nekogami Yaoyorozu but I don't know if I want to watch it yet.

A new chart is already out? Good grief, they're just getting faster and faster aren't they?
Must See: Natsume Yujiincho San, Last Exile, No 6, Bunny Drop.
Interested in and will probably check out the first episode: Baka to Test 2, Blood C, and probably more as more series get set dates. Hmm, better start my Last Exile/Natsume rewatches soon-ish then.

Natsume, Working - MUST SEE.

Other than that, Natsume 3rd season and No.6 caught my attention.

Only one josei (Usagi no Drop) and one harem (Uta no prince), we ladies sure are lucky.

And since I'm a CLAMP fan, I'll watch Blood-C. <3

*Sigh* Not really an impressive list for me. No.6 looks interesting, I'll fallow that and Manyuu Hikenchou. As a CLAMP fan I'll check out Blood-C as well, even though I'm having doubts.

As for OVAs, I'm eager to watch Fairy Tail and Valkyria Chonicles 3, even though I didn't play the game yet. Hope it gets localized in the future. Hakuouki OVA? It will be on my list as soon as I finish the second season.

This list better shape up. As it is right now (Save perhaps Fate/Zero and a few other unofficially announced animes), it's not too appealing. Need a more complete list.

I'll have to say that 2011 is shaping up to a better year of anime than the past 3 combined.

Wait, is there any people who want to watch R-15 ?

Why should you care?... >_>

Anyway, summer season is lacking in serious amount. Winter at least had Madoka Magica, Spring season is already showing bunch of quality stuffs. For summer, I can't see any shine.

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu is the only thing that marked from me as 'must watch'. In case of Natsume Yuujinchou, it's sort of thing with "I will probably drop it from 2nd or 3rd episode and keep it on-hold until I actually have motivation" attitude.

For Dantalian and Sacred Seven, I need to gather more information.

Westlo

Sacred Seven could be big... it could also be another Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo and flop though...

I'll have to say that 2011 is shaping up to a better year of anime than the past 3 combined.

Yeah... looking like it will be the best since 2007... (Spring 2007 > every other season of the 00s)

Yes, there's a Blade anime starring Wesley Snipes, but it features a different story to the original work, like the 3 previous Marvel Anime works.

Dantalian no Shoka is a definite watch for me because Gainax is the one adapting it and it has gothic undertones. I hope that'll be good.

No.6 sounds interesting, and Kamisama Dolls might be worth a shot. I haven't heard much about Usagi Drop, but the little bit I have heard has only been good things, so I might take a peek at that, too.

2011-04-13, 21:34
Baka Test Season 2 is enough to make the season for me. I'm with Kismet on Dantalian no Shoka, the Gothic motic appeals to me. Ikoku Meiro no Croisee also looks nice, though in this case replace 'Gothic' with 'French', and Usagi Drop looks like a good story as well. On the OVA side, I got a mild enjoyment out of Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka and love Higurashi, so I'm looking forward to Kira a lot. Decent season so far, certainly has enough to make it worthwhile for me. (Blah, I just remembered that I should update the 'Watching Now' segment in my profile, haven't changed it since the Fall 2010 season...)

SUPER-DUPER-EXTREME-ULTRA-CHO-GINGA-MEGA-HIGH-PRIORITY:

Natsume Yuujincho 3 - ABSOLUTELY loved the first and second season. I was screaming and frothing and writhing when I heard of the announcement of the third season last week...

Very high priority:

Usagi Drop - Had a great time reading the manga until the time-skip.

Baka to Test - Highly enjoyed the first season. Cannot wait to see the antics of the lovable underdogs, Class-F!

Curious Priority?... If that even makes sense:

Art by Onineko - Yeah, I wish... : (

I thought Spring has the worst collection of new releases but Summer is even worse, consider that bill already in full effect(damn Japanese politicians!). Not to mention that some Spring shows still shown if that had 24+ episodes. Until someone can tell me which shows rocked and sucked, I'm not going to see all of them.

By the way too many shoujo and josei titles. Too bad we will never something like Yosuga no Sora again.

No.6: Cuz it's got noitamina and BONES involved. The plot greatly catches my attention too.

Other than that, I might give BLOOD-C(if I could bear the blood and gore), C3(not sure why), and Blade a shot at their first episodes out of curiosity.

DonQuigleone

I'll be checking out:

Natsume Yuujinchou San: The previous 2 entries were top notch, no reason to think otherwise on this one.

Usagi Drop: I read the manga, I agree with Yuutsu, but the Anime will probably not cover that part.

No. 6: interesting idea, a novel adaptation, and BONES.

Dantalian no Shoka: It's Gainax, but gainax tends to be better on original works, so this could go either way.

Ikoku Meiro no Croisee: Interesting idea, this could be really good or bad depending on how accurately it shows France.

Kamisama Dolls: Another one with potential. Interesting synopsis. Brains base is reliable.

Sacred Seven: Checked out the website. It's Sunrise, it's Anime Original and it's MECHA!!! Automatically gets a look from me. On the other hand, it looks really cheesy. This could either be the next Code Geass, or the next Star Driver.

Overall it's not too bad. Last summer I think was worse.

Must Watch: Last Exile -Ginyoku no Fam- if it indeed ends up starting in summer, if not it's a must watch for me whenever it starts. And loved the recently released first trailer.

Very excited for:
Still really looking forward to Appleseed XIII, Blood-C keeps looking better as more staff news came out, and Valkyria 3 because I love the franchise and hope the third game makes it over here.

Will definitely check out:
No.6's staff and Bones interests me and scifi being my favorite genre, but don't care for BL so there might be too much of that, but the staff list that was added at the end of last month to the show thread made me pretty interested too thanks to the director.

Blade: Want to see which level of these Marvel projects we get for it as it could be good.

Dantalian for Gainax, though the setup of how the main character's meet has me worried it could go either way, hopefully Gainax's creativity overrides it and it's something good.

Sacred Seven: Sunrise original, mecha, and action. Basically similar thoughts as donquigleone above.

The Space Pirate girl thing looked like it might be fun if it has a bigger story behind it like it appeared back last year or so when it was first mentioned.

Croisee's not really my kind of show but I believe that's the one with the pretty gorgeous trailer so it might get at least a look to appreciate the animation.

And I'll continue watching Nurarihyon no Mago when the second season starts to see where it's going.

Not much of an interesting lineup. I might use the time to catch up on Gintama or one of my 4-cour anime series.
If Summer 2011 is gonna be the time when Working!! S2 will come up, then that and Ikoku Meiro no Croisee will be the only series for me. Dantalian no Shoka will be up Kuroneko's alley, that's for sure, and I might pick it up when there's enough positive feedback. Croisee will be somewhat questionable, though, since we're talking about Hinata Takeda, the illustrator of the GOSICK series, as the writer.

-Dantalian no Shoka (Not for Gainax, but for the premise and the goth loli)

-Idolmaster (Never played the games but the concept sounds interesting, I don't think there are many games or series about training pop idols)

-Ro-Kyu-Bu (The combination of basketball and lolis may be attractive)

My interests:
Appleseed XIII (http://myanimelist.net/anime/9737/Appleseed_XIII) (GRRRR on this not showing last season as planned, though perhaps better for my time management!)
Natsume Yuujin-chou San (http://myanimelist.net/anime/10379/Natsume_Yuujinchou_San)--OHHHHHH YESSSSSSS. I loved the first two seasons: the soft colors, soft feeling, but that tension between the human and spirit worlds. Oh, and I simply can't get enough to Nyanko-sensei >.<
Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu Ni! (http://myanimelist.net/anime/8516/Baka_to_Test_to_Shoukanjuu_2)--Another follow up, a sequel this time, that I'm excited for after the 1st season pleasantly surprised me.
Usagi Drop (http://myanimelist.net/anime/10162/Usagi_Drop)--the premise is interesting to me, especially since I like shows like Kurenai and Aishiteruze Baby.
NO. 6 (http://myanimelist.net/anime/10161/No.6)--Bones somtimes hits and strikes, so I'm willing to give this one a go :)
Ikoku Meiro no Croisee (http://myanimelist.net/anime/9938/Ikoku_Meiro_no_Crois%C3%A9e)--Historical fiction + GOSICK's illustrator? Oh yes, sign me up!
Nekogami Yaoyorozu (http://myanimelist.net/anime/9934/Nekogami_Yaoyorozu)--Again, I'm easily caught up in Shintoism, so this show may be worth the try.
Dantalian no Shoka (http://myanimelist.net/anime/8915/Dantalian_no_Shoka)--Books+demons=so much potential?
Sacred Seven (http://myanimelist.net/anime/10156/Sacred_Seven)--Producer Sunrise caught my interest this past spring season with Tiger & Bunny, so I'm willing to give this one a whirl.
Kami-sama no Memo-chou (http://myanimelist.net/anime/10568/Kamisama_no_Memochou)--Well....this barely has my eye since it seems a blatant copy of GOSICK, but I do like mystery and intelligent protagonists, so perhaps this will surprise me as well.
Film Fullmetal Alchemist: Milos no Seinaru Hoshi (http://myanimelist.net/anime/9135/Fullmetal_Alchemist:_Milos_no_Seinaru_Hoshi)--I'm a fan of both the original and Brotherhood, so of course I'll watch this!
Film Kokuriko-Zaka Kara (http://myanimelist.net/anime/10029/Kokurikozaka_Kara)--Studio Ghibli?! check!

I'll probably also watch way more than I listed here for my blog. I've found that really helps me out with finding ones I love that I never expected to wow me.

funny that this is deemed as a blatant copy of Gosick. in last year's ranking for "this light novel is amazing", Kami-Memo came in numbered 10. While Gosick is nowhere to be seen in the 60 slots. Even my beloved Daiden and Itsuten were ranked

Kami-Memo came in numbered 10. While Gosick is nowhere to be seen in the 60 slots.

I dunno what happened, but the problems of Gosick switching from Fujimi Mystery Bunko to another publisher might have created problems. I also heard about Gosick being a light novel "not attracting light novel translators".

As for a series giving another series' vibes, I think Ikoku Meiro no Croisee gives stronger Gosick vibes to me, but maybe because Gosick's illustrator Hinata Takeda was the one who made Croisee.

I myself have read neither. But so far, the feedback I got from readers of both is that Kami-Memo is the far superior one. And number 10 for a LN with no anime is a very big deal. And besides the ranking is based on LN sales of the year before. So translations don't matter.

For me:

Must see:
- Appleseed, Always interested in its world and background settings

- Kami-sama no Memo-chou, not really interested in Gosick because of some of its "silly" tricks but after read through chapter 1 of Kami Memo manga, I will give this a chance.

- Itsuka Tenma, both the light novel and manga are pretty good so I did get excited when this series has its anime version.

- Ro-kyu-bu: watch because of pure moe ^^

Checking list:
- No.6, considering it's from BONES (Rahxephon, Darker than Black, Wolf's Rain) although their recent series didn't get much of my attention (Star Driver, Gosick).

- R-15, the introduction seems interesting (honestly, main char is a porn writer!?) so I will see through the first few episodes to decide.

Also some other OVAs like Valkyrie Chronicles and Hellsing.

funny that this is deemed as a blatant copy of Gosick. in last year's ranking for "this light novel is amazing", Kami-Memo came in numbered 10. While Gosick is nowhere to be seen in the 60 slots. Even my beloved Daiden and Itsuten were ranked

I'm guessing cute neet girl appeals more than cute ehh...doll like girl:p

Well for me as usual theres loads of stuff I want to see but trying to find time to watch has become harder.

For anime series I doubt I'd get time for many but I'm most def be keeping with Usagi Drop and Baka Test.
Anything else if time allows to me to watch would be Appleseed, Blood-C and Ro-Kyu-Bu!(I get the feeling I'll actually just love this one:D)

I will probably have a look at almost all the OVA, etc.
Fairy Tail, Valkyria Chronicles 3 and Kore Zombie will be must watch.

For films, Sengoku Basara and Sora Otoshi is a must, the rest will have to wait and see.

p.s is Moretsu Pirates actually scheduled for the summer?
If so that will probably be a must watch for me:D

I cannot wait for more Higurashi! By far one of my favorite series.

Enjoyed the Itsuka Tenma no Kuro-Usagi novel, so I'll have to watch that too.

Series
No. 6
Ikoku Meiro no Croise'e
Dantalian no Shoka
Nekogami Yaoyorozu
Itsuka Tenma no Kuro-usagi
Kamisama Dolls
Sacred Seven

Movies
Towa no Quon
Fullmetal Alchemist: Milos no Sei-Naru Hoshi

That's more than I usually show interest in, but I'm sure a good number of them will be full of ridiculous fanservice, so the herd will thin out bit by bit.

It WAS on hiatus up until the anime came out and the author decide to return to Gosick...(Just look at Haruhi, much more popular and not on Top 40 either). Although the #10 ranking for Kami-Memo surprised even a reader of the novel in me...(But then, Haganai is #2, and as much as I love that novel, that's a even bigger surprise...)

Well, for me...

Kami-sama no Memo-chou: Alice is too moe to ignored...
Ro-kyu-bu: Just b/c it's pure moe and HanaKana is voicing the lead...
BakaTest 2: 1st Season being the only anime that season that's good, at least it's not the case this season, doesn't mean I'll stop watching it
Mayo-Chiki: Crossdressing Butler FTW

End result? Yeah, another season I'll just start with LN adaptation and move forward from there...

I agree with you on both points. Since the sales figures are not cumulative, and are year on year. Given that there are a number of major LN publishers and many hits, 60 slots is small; once you're on hiatus, it's hard to get in the ranks. What I was pointing out was merely the misconception on Kami-Memo being a clone, which could spread like wildfire if not curbed ;). Besides, throughout history, it's not uncommon to find a few people in different parts of the world, getting inspired by similar ideas without any knowledge about the other person. Makes one wonder about the universe...

And I thought the hiatus was due to the transfer from Fujimi to Kadokawa? And there's no doubt that Haruhi will be in the ranks next year (possibly no. 1), given the number of pre-orders, one of which belongs to me :D

I'll be watching Nurarihyon S2, with caution though because S1 staled out in the end. Also, the first episode of Blade, because it's very hard to keep watching any of the Marvel-mixed series, aaand...maybe test No.6 or sacred seven.

Nah, the author simply move on from Light Novels to Mainstream Novels, and basically "abandon" GOSICK until it's animated, in which the author return to write a new volume...

Well assuming this is another 2 cour season... if anything Mago S2 will have excellent pace (compared to season 1) since they will have to rush through so many chapters to animate the entirety of the Tokyo/Gitsune arc.

I know it's ironic of me to say that I won't watch Baka Test, but actually, that's of a completely different reason...if I have to put it, it's because I don't want to end up comparing with the novels again.

The lineup this time doesn't feel as delicious as the previous but there's quite a number of very interesting sounding shows. Two Brains Base shows in one season makes the summer awesome by default. Based on the list as of now...

Hell yes, definitely watching:

Natsume Yuujinchou San
BakaTest 2
No.6
Nuramago 2
Kamisama Dolls

Definitely checking out:

Blood-C
Usagi Drop
ItsuTen
Dantalian no Shoka
Kamisama no Memochou
Sacred Seven
Ikoku Meiro no Croisee

Yay, OVA~ Side:

Higurashi Kira
Carnival Phantasm

Poor, poor season, but given I'm following a couple of series which will continue into this season, I'll be fine I guess.

Following:

Usagi Drop (has the promise of a very good drama)

Might give a whirl:

Kamisama no Memo-chou (the bastard daughter of L and Komori Kiri solving crimes? Snerk! Definitely giving this a go)

Yuri Yuri (well, if I could sit through K-ON!...)

I find the lack of penguins in this thread quite disturbing ...

What I'm definitely following:

Mawaru Penguin Drum (Ikuhara's new show, not to mention that the way they are advertising it makes me want to just figure what the hell it is anyway :heh:)

Blood-C (This will be interesting to see how it turns out)

Blade (because you just can't have enough people going after vampires)

Usagi Drop (the concept itself sounds good)

Natsume Yuujinchou San (already watched the first two seasons so this already a pass)

What I'll most likely follow for the first few episodes

Sacred Seven

No.6 (It's Bones, I think ...)

Idolmaster (Hey, might as well since Berserk is going on hiatus)

Kamisama Dolls (only because Brain's Base name is attached, other wise I have no interest in this)

Hayate no Gotoku Season 3

my body is ready for some A-tan

That's not this season though ...

There are always mixed opinions, and a lot of people, myself included, sometimes get a little too pessimistic about the upcoming seasons. But with that being said, I think the outlook for spring was generally pretty good among most of us.

Not really reading much manga (and no light novels), and never playing new games, I per usual, know very little about most of the upcoming series.

I'm looking forward to the third installment of Natsume Yuujinchou. I can't imagine not enjoying this one. The second rounds of both Baka-Test and Nurarihyon are also welcome additions, especially the latter.

A lot of other shows look like they might be fun, but there's nothing that really stands out to me as a slam-dunk hit yet. But that's bound to change once the season actually rolls around. Color me cautiously optimistic. :)

We have to consider the fact that sleeper hits are so-called because their strength appears late into the season.

We might have a handful of sleeper hits on Summer, but we can only guess since not one of these series have even debuted. :heh:

usagi drop is the only one which grabs my attention. rest are iffy at best to me. it's most likely because i've gotten tired of using x high school kids and x high school setting used. the story and subplots would have to really grab my attention nowadays if any of these two elements were used together.

and when i saw idolmaster there, the first thing that came to my mind was "INC HIATUS until it is over for berserk" /sarcasm (OR AM I?!).

Wow, I didn't realize how many Brain's Base series there are this season. Not a bad thing though since they're currently one of my favorite animation studios. :)

Definites:
Natsume Yujinchou San - love love love this series; yes more supernatural slice-of-life please!
No.6 - premise sounds interesting and noitaminA
Usagi Drop - noitaminA
Kamisama Dolls - Read the scanslated chapters and it's pretty interesting. Also, Brain's Base.

Will wait for comments and feedback:
Sacred Seven
Blood-C
Kamisama no Memo-chou

There's also a few carry overs from Spring season so I don't want to pick up too many series.

Well, as usual I am going to try to check out most series
But the ones I am sure to watch are:
Itsuka tenma no kuro usagi - I really liked Denyuden, and I think if Zexcs don't mess this one up(yeah right:heh:), it's going to be a really good series
Baka to test- Loved the first season, the ova's weren't so good though
Kamisama Dolls- Liked the concept
Sacred seven- Sunrise and after star driver, I have a good feeling about this kind of series;)
NuraMago- Liked the first season, so I guess I am going to follow the second one

And the ones I am definitely going to check out(and probably gonna watch) are:
Mayo Chiki
Blood C
Usagi Drop
NO.6
Ikoku Meiro....
Dantalion no Shoka
Kami-Sama no Memo-chu

As for the rest, I going to wait for the reaction of people after first episode airs before deciding whether to check 'em or not.

It would be nice to say "I'm looking forward to Rurouni Kenshin: Jinchu this summer"...

I would like to say the same thing, but I have to be honest I am terribly worried. Kenshin for me was apart of my growing anime experiance as a child, so seeing this brings me a world of dread. Yet despite that I am somewhat happy to hear more from Kenshin after so long.

Ok so I finally got some time to update my personal list of upcoming shows and to mark those I might be interested in following. So here goes.

Highly likely to watch:

No.6 - Science Fiction from BONES? Sign me up.
Dantalian no Shoka - Gainax behind the wheel and they did bring me into the fandom so there.
Appleseed XIII - I'm very curious to see this since I enjoyed the 2004 movie in particular. It's a shame it won't be a full blown tv series though.

Will try:

The iDolm@ster - The game piked my interest but sadly I don't have a japanese 360 to play it so it's the next best thing.
Kamisama no Memo-chou - Sounds interesting but I'm going in blind.
Sacred Seven - I'm curious to see what Sunrise is up to.

That's it. Overall not much that rises my interest but who knows? I've been pleasantly surprised before.

1. The iDOLM@STER, Just feel like watching a light laid-back anime at a time (Not to mention, it's good for your health)

2. (Maybe) Blood-C, I already pissed with Saya's design character. But, everything still can happen.

3. Usagi Drop, but I'll only watch it when the BD come out. I want to see at which part this anime going to end. (Those who've finished the manga should know why)

4. Blade anime, at least Blade is not a superhero which wears a tight flashy superhero suite. C'mon.., it's 2011 already xD

5. Hayate no Gotoku! The Movie, Of course I'm highly anticipating the return of Hina-, I mean... Ayasaki Hayate the combat butler.

6. Last Exile 2 (?)

7. At least, but not very least. If (Only IF) there are not any worth shows anymore. I still have Steins;Gate, Nichijou, and Hanasaku Iroha to fill in the summer season.

Beyond Summer?

1. Kizumonogatari
2. Eiga K-ON!
3. Working!! 2
4. Fate/Zero
5. Re-made Rurouni Kenshin (Its an epic old anime, but who wants to watch that old graphic anyway?)
6. Shakugan no Shana III (maybe?)

Honestly, I'm looking forward to Fall 2011 far more than this season of anime.

Spring 2011 gave me a lot of animes that I thoroughly enjoyed - but Summer 2011 doesn't feel like it will do the same.

The premise of No. 6 sorta gave me a thought that I would be interested in it, for some reason (though on reflection, the BL undertones sorta have distanced me away from it - sorta like Monochrome Factor back in the old days).

The only anime I've found an interest in was Sacred Seven. For that, Summer 2011 isn't really up to much in my opinion :(
