My guess is...
This is where we'll have the wrestling match scene.
Can't wait!

Dammit she's one of those characters whose flag can't be raised.

Nikaido and Keima have some of the most hilarious interaction in this whole series.
Not at the same time, but the combination of robots and basketball triggered some memories in me. The first 2/3rds or so of this episode had some pretty good comedic moments, such as Jun not holding the PFP the right way, and Keima's attempts at doing bad, only to realize he is both a protagonist and not a protagonist. Given his game obsession, he's closer to the protagonist's best friend, really. All the stuff with Nikaido was great as well, including her "information".
On the subject of Jun, interesting that her revelation should come about so soon after yesterday. However, she doesn't seem to be hiding any grudges or troubled pasts (mostly) beneath that exterior. Her passionate self is real, and I admire her for that. So many times a passionate exterior is just a front, but why not, when that passion is stripped away, have more passion hiding beneath it? I sympathize with her to quite a degree. She shouldn't end this route by removing her passion - for one, that would be tremendously stupid - just rechannel it into something that benefits everyone.
Jun, go for it!
The humors were definitely up there this episode. Well Jun is a good and caring teacher.. just too passionate towards solving problems students have that it gets on their toes. I mean I would get really annoyed too if someone kept on approaching me with that mindset though the intention is a good one. Also pushing ideals/expectations on others is always a no-no, which Jun's memory of her basketball team also seems to suggest.

Lol just how did Nikaid make to the teacher's seat with her attitude :heh:
She and Keima work really well together...
Poor Jun... she does get on students backs a bit too much. If she were to lower that passion a bit, I'm sure she would be fine.
P.S. Why do I have a feeling that next week episode will start with gloomy Jun dressing up?

GIANT ROBO!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejW9NM2B9fY
As always, nice additions form the manga.
I didn't like Jun that much in the manga. I found her a lot more pushy than Kanon (mainly because Kanon had better reasons to be pushy). Like Keima, she a person of ideals. But unlike Keima, she tries to force her ideals into others and doesn't see their reality as true as her.
One episode to go and probably another last one to close the season.
GIANT ROBO!!!
Hopefully that reference will push the people who haven't seen Giant Robo in the right direction to do just that.
So Jun is just too passionate and gets depressed. At least Keima has some info o her w to work his magic. Best scenes were with Keima and Nikaido, she's quite hot.
Great episode.
It's almost painful to watch Jun's optimistic, albeit a bit too pushy, spirit being gradually broken despite her best intentions. She's such an angel. She looks too cute holding that trophy.
Pretty funny preview this time. This is looking to be the best arc of the season as far as I'm concerned.

Jesus hell I would have just Lupin'd myself right inbetween Nikaido's drooping wondermelons in that shot. Holy fuck.
The 'de' transition screens were a bit much in this episode. You'd think they could have someone to make more than one of those pics this far in the season.

Seriously this :heh:, her "prices" for information to Keima was so epic.
And Jun's past and current issues are quite clear from this episode, and she's a fairly likeable character too.
. ..and she's a fairly likeable character too.
Understatement of the century. ^^

If I had teachers this hot in high school I'd have had better grades.
Probably.
Don't think so, too busy staring at places other than the blackboard XD
Yeah, you won't be getting better grades, but you'll definitely not miss a day of school...
aww... I'm sorry for Nagase~sensei.... but I think there are some people who easily give up and you can't push them... she need to understand that.... although I respect a dedicated teacher like her.... (it's hard to find teacher like her)
so the next episode will be the conquest.... Go Keima! Go Jumbo Tsuruma!

Sorry, but I have to disagree. As the matter of fact, I have a confidence that I'm sure that I would never miss or skip every single class available in school; and will surely get an outstanding grades if I were you if I had a young, hot, beautiful teacher in my class. :heh:
Hmm... Why not become a teacher's pet? :p
Quite an eventful episode if I may say so, loved the ' And Fire Engines!' shout by Elsie at the end especially.
I understand that sometimes teachers that are too dedicated or passionate may annoy certain students, my old class too once had a teacher with a similar personality, we started out taking a liking to her but it started to turn annoying not long after. Thankfully my teacher 'calmed down' after heart-to-heart talks with the class.

Great episode.
The scenes with Nikaido are interesting. Would have been totaly awsome, if Katsuragi would have to conquer her, instead of Nagase. :D :heh:
7/10 vote from me ... a good episode. :)

Getting older women always involves 3rd party
Elsie: How about doing it?
Keima: NO!

I'm ok with Nikaido's prices ^^
gr8 arc, gr8 episode
I think it's interesting that this has been Keima's most challenging conquest yet.
Nothing is going as planned.
Plan A: Don't approach her in school, make sure she doesn't see you as a student.
Fail.
Plan B: Make her angry! (Isn't that Keima's usual tactic with these girls? He did it with Shiori anyway).
Fail. Best line yet. Keima: "Usually it's so much easier to make girls angry."
Plan C: Form a relationship with Nikaido to make himself Jun's "equal". Also, pump her for info.
Fail. And this one was all Keima's fault as he lost his patience and revealed his intentions, although Nikaido did misunderstand it.
Keima did end up with some information, but that was mainly luck.
Meanwhile, Jun's attentions have shifted from a focus on Keima to the entire class. Which suggests Keima is losing control of the situation.

IMO, Keima's plans are as good as they can get. It's just that things don't go as planned. And that usually screws up anyone's plans to capture someone.
Some people usually plan captures on the assumption that they are complete nobodies to their targets. But as I said above, the plans screw up because they don't count on the possibility that their targets are particularly aggressive towards them.
I suddenly remembered what my favorite author once wrote: "Don't worry if someone you love doesn't love you back, because there are people who love you but you don't love back."
Well, in Keima's case, he has to do the latter. Otherwise, well, I hope that doesn't happen.
EDIT: Hmmm, now that his alternative plans backfired, he has no choice but to go through the original plan, as he remembers this:
Getting older women always involves 3rd party
Some people, particularly the shy ones, don't usually go capturing their targets on their own. Instead, they find a third party who knows the target very well, usually of the same sex as the target. This third party acts as a "bridge" or the liaison between the hunter and the target.
In our country where females are expected to be reserved in entering relationships, i.e., not entering one unless when the time is perfectly right even when she likes the other party, the "bridge" system often works simply because "you need information about the target to come up with a good strategy" in the first place.
EDIT 2: Oh, so the plan with Nikaido did not work as well as he thought, but that gave Keima another clue about Nagase. In the next episode, we will see how will this clue help him in capturing Nagase, thus finally ending the teacher arc.
I have discussed in the Episode 9 forums about the hole in Jun's heart which caused the loose spirit to go inside her.
Now I can finally do so at full length.
Jun is a very idealistic young woman, somehow in the same way Keima goes all gaga about games. While being idealistic is good, our ideals don't usually work like that in the real world. Ideals are just ideals, after all, but it is reality that we are living in, not our own ideals.
The key to removing this hole in the heart is that one must accept that the world is not perfect, and that one cannot force his/her ideals unto others, not only because different people have different ideals, but also because the real world will never work the exact same way we want to. So we have to deal with it, keep our ideals to ourselves, or better yet, channel these to causes which will make the world at least 0.01% better.
I LOVED the giant robo scene, took me back to the days of UHF when I had to watch a fuzzy screen just to see Giant Robo fight.....a vampire....yikes.

It's not just her ideals, but that Jun forces them on others and gets a negative response from it. To herself, she is just being enthusiastic. Since she thinks she is doing nothing wrong, that makes it seem like everyone who dislikes her does it for no reason at all.
Being hated without a good reason is a bit unsettling for some people.
Jun's in an interesting dilemma. To some extent, a teacher is supposed to instill ideals in her students. Part of their job description is to teach kids society's values. A good example is when she told the students to not litter. Jun's problem is that she hasn't learned yet when she's gone too far in promoting her ideals.
Yeah, I have no problem with Jun telling those punks not to litter.
