The end of a journey is upon us. I've been rewatching the second season on Crunchyroll in preparation for the finale (on episode 3 as of now), and walking into this episode I have some thoughts of this season when compared to the past one:
-The comedy has been better. Sure, the sound track still lacks proper comedic toned music, but the actual jokes has far better timing in general. I'm sure by the time I reach the mid way, things will look even better than I first saw it.
-The music is still great. Yes, this is clearly a score that doesn't fully cover the needs of the series, but it does fulfill the romantic side of things. The track that played during episode 2 with Kusunoki's feminine side materializing is among the best things I've heard not only in this show, but in this season. I'm getting the second OST for sure. *that and they use Lum's track for Elise lol)
-The voice acting is excellent. Ito Kana as usual is Elise, now and forever, but Hiro Shimono had really grown in to the role and impressed me this season. Other roles that stand out is Kana Asumi as Chihiro, but I think I'll expand on that once I get to rewatching that string of episodes again.
-The direction has more impact. Chihiro's arc along with Shiori's had been the best of the both seasons, with Shiori's looking visually superior and Chihiro's having the stronger dialogue. But both show a general level of caring placed into them that carried across and made for some fantastic viewing.
-And finally, it looks nice. While not exactly the best looking show, it does have a consistent look about it, and has no major failings in that regard. That and the retro feel the show appears to be going for is working in it's favor.
So, as I rewatch, I pray that this finale episode doesn't fall to the mistake the finale from the past season fell to. And that is not having enough comedy to counter Keima's obsession with galge, which lead to a very disturbing episode. Don't hold back and let loose, is what I hope will happen here.

Kaminomi II-XII - The All in One and the One in All
You can please everyone some of the time. And you can please some people all of the time. Keima can't even please himself some of the time. This was probably the most in depth look at his thought process we've ever been given, and it is fascinating (frankly, I'm on the side of Multi-Heroine myself, but that's for another day). I also liked the cameos of every past girl Keima's met, and the speech at the end was touching. Looks like Jun's arc had a bit of an impact on him. Yokkyun was kind of weird looking, but I learned long ago not to base all my opinions on art styles. For a closure to this season (and perhaps all seasons? We know there's an OVA on the way.), it was very well done.
May peace prevai- wait, wrong VN show.
This episode get's a full on 10/10 from me. Yokkyun's introduction and screentime with Keima delivered, and we also had the epic confrontation between Keima and himself. Oh my, that Gundam 0079 reference, so good. It was awesome in the manga, though so much better here.
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time reference was easily my favourite part of the episode. :heh:
& then we get that ED, which totally hints at another season. Let's aim for a third season!

I just love this show, its totally a 10/10.
With the ending obviously hinting a next season, i can't wait to see it!

Keima has found what he considers the closest thing to the ideal game in this episode, and I have found the closest thing to a perfect Kaminomi episode here!
This was ... everything was right here. The music placement and usage was correct, never out of place, always managing to complement each scene. The usage of silence never stood in the way of the comedy, Hiro Shimono ... he became Keima in this episode, without a doubt! The vocal changes he underwent, I was impressed! The man earns my respect as being the most fitting for the role.
The references were excellent. Ranging from simply parodying Gundam, galges and VN's, to straightly calling out Sound Novels and the different fandoms of VN's, but always affectionately. The staff had a clear amount of love for every thing they had made fun of in this episode, going as far as including a typical Tomino-service (bath scene anyone :p) to the typical arguments you see between each faction.
Every cameo was great. Seeing all the girls showing up, continuing their lives, for one last time was a great send off for this series. Also, that small tester was simply cruel! Third Season where!?
This was without a doubt, the best episode of both seasons. All my wishes were fulfilled (they learned from the mistakes of the past season's finale) and more (every cameo, every thing simply went right here). The music was great, even moreso than what it usually is. The animation looked above the shows average. It was simply a pleasure to watch.
This is what I wanted from this show, episodes of this quality, of this care placed into them. I have no regrets now that the show ends on this note, though I would love to see them make another season. But as far as I see, this was the perfect way to end this show.

Yokkyun was kind of weird looking, but I learned long ago not to base all my opinions on art styles.I simply loved how tongue in cheek every thing was :p going from the look of Yokkyun, to the arguments. It was simply very good.
I do wonder if the way they attempted to show that both sides are equal had to do with being ''politically correct'' (in his mind? :heh:), since ultimately Keima's closest thing to his ideal, is after all a game with a single Heroine? :p

Highlight of the episode for me was once again Elsie, she is the best Kaminomi girl!

What seriously? I was totally soaked into this episode to notice, though Sakura Tange is one of my all time favourites!

My god...this finale was just fantastic!!! So much Yokkyun screentime with Keima, and delicious cameos + references.
That ending though it's quite teasing...Mmm Season 3 is a huge want!

Torture I claim!
Why giving us a glimpse of the next targets (especially one with a passion for bubble warpers), when there is nothing to confirm their animated arc? :frustrated:
The ending was great, with a good reflexion about reality and ideals, the original OP and nice animation.
The love story between Keima and Yokkyun felt a little too standard for me.
They should have let it in the dark, so each watcher could think about how they really resonnate. There, I think we've lost the magic of "What could be the ideal Galge for the Galge God?".
Sometimes, it's better not to tell.
And they should have really boost the Gundamesque war. They've been relatively shy compared to the final episode of the first season, screenplay speaking. A gorgeous spacewar fight with all the suited technobabble wouldn't have hurt the show finale...
Anyway, once again, Kami has left us.
Let us pray for his return. :)

great episode to end this season!!! It had me laughing from the beginning till the end, and i learnt a very valuable lesson to! :P
Loved the 'fighting' part... altogether, i think that this episode reflects this anime as a whole
also, showing the future girls and the reflection of tenri.... man, at first, i thought there wasn't gonna be a second season, but now i have hope!!! xD
Great ep, I love how the added on to the whole Yokkyun bit. Seeing as the manga really never went in to him playing the game it self.
Also dat ending, it was a great way to connect season 1+2. Using the same animation style from the season 1 opening along with hinting at a season 3. Biggest tease ever I have to say.

With the ending of this episode the possibility of a 3rd season is definitely there, especially since they showed most of the upcoming capture targets in the story. Perhaps season 3 should run for 24 episodes instead of 12?
I wouldn't say this was my favorite episode to watch though. It's canon material and all, but for the most part it just felt superfluous despite that. Probably just me who feels that way though.
Anywho, I guess it's back to the manga for a while now.~
I always seem to forget my favorite little jokes until after I've written the main capsule review. But the start of this episode had a pitch-perfect example of a good joke. Start on Kanon singing on TV, cut to Elsie singing along....and then to her ingredients shrieking in pain. I knew I was in for something special when that opened the episode.

looks like seaons 3 will be on. but i think we'll have to wait for the ova first right? i believe that's going to be out in sept.
yep... showing all the girls for the next season is amazing. but there are a lot of targets...i won't spoil you guys.
looks like there are 5 targets, so probably another 12 episodes.... my favorite from the preview is a toss up between the ramen girl and the swimming pool girl showing at the end.

This alone make this episode the best of the second season! (She's my favorite seiyuu)

i was thinking that, with the amount of girls they showed for a *potential* third season
with 5 girls, i think they would need more than 12, but 24 seems a bit much too.
Here's hoping for more :D
You guys are getting too excited about what was shown in the ED. The fact that they showed them is like the producers saying, ``Here they are since you will never see them in the actual series.``

I doubt that, really seemed more like a teaser. I'm sure that TWGOK generates enough interest to get another season.
Perfect episode, without a doubt.
Been a long while since I gave 10 to a single episode, but this deserved it.
Yokkyun reminded of the horrible artwork from the orginal Kanon. But I really started to fall for her at the end. :D
The director literally made miracles with this episode. I cannot express how satisfied I felt after watching this. A shame that a season 3 doesn't seem to be on the near horizon, but nevertheless this episode left me pumped uip for whatever's coming. 10/10 from me.

6:30-6:35 - What's up with the 7-11 reference, man?
And wow, at last we find the funny side of the Capturing God, and some of the previously captured girls, too. They've become a whole lot better than the first time we saw them.
7:15-7:45 - CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE 101 - When you play a video game inside the classroom, NEVER GET TOO EXCITED, or the teacher will LITERALLY KICK YOU OUT! And if you have a sister in the same class as you, she will get chewed, you won't probably know it, but at least you can do "the worm" (LOL'ed hard at this one) while continuing the best game of your life.
can't wait for season 3....they just have to put them!

There will be a third season and at the same time, there won't be.
Manglobe trolling.
Anyway, mediocre episode but that initiation with Kanon then to Elsie was perfect!
Last I heard the initial sales were weak, but sales didn't drop off as quickly as for other series.
Result: Wait and see if total sales are sufficient to support a third season.
So it's not completely ruled out, but not anywhere near confirmed

They have no reason not to make a third season.
The anime has overall been faithful to the original story. All the girls that will feature in the third season have had there respective arcs completed. It has been a fairly good anime this season (as opposed to what else was available this season)
It will probably be until next summer or perhaps spring before the next season I would assume, to give the manga more time to catch up.
This episode felt a bit more like a tribute to the author of the series to me. I remember reading one of his bonus pages about the making of the anime and how he thought of who he wanted to do what for what parts of the series.

All I can say is, there is definitely hope for a 3rd season! :) It has been a great series and a great way to conclude the second season, and best of all, I get to learn a lot from Keima, the God of Conquest, lol.
They got Kobayashi Yu to do the same game character she played in the first episode of the first season. I wonder if she might voice a heroine if they do another cour?

Manglobe will be the first entity on both my hate and love list if all of those cameos at the end be nothing more than teases. There must be season 3. Keima might see the ending, but Elsie says continue.
Not a bad season closer, but there really needed to be more Haqua than what was shown.

Manglobe y u do dis 2 me?
Indeed, they love to tease the fans. Anyone else notice the "love me do" at 15:25? :heh:
I wonder what Yokkyun would look like if she was drawn more in line with today's anime standards.

Ah I really liked this episode for how it went into Keima's thought process.
One of the things that always bugged me about the show was the apparent contradiction of some of his statements about the ideal dating sims.
But this episode showed that he himself was able to notice the contradictions in his thoughts but was able to combine it into a consistent whole. And I think I can understand him as a person now.
They just have to make a season 3 if they are going to put that ending which leaves such a massive cliffhanger for us.

This last episode was very good it was funny and i loved the teaser of a season 3 at the end
I really want to see MORE of Tenri/Diana and Tsukiyo!! both of them are awesome!!
what made this episode perfect was their decision to run the first OP as the the ED for this episode.

Just seeing Tenri/Diana animated alone was amazing enough that it just made that ending sequence perfect for me.
To tell you the truth all the girls are my favorite but seeing Tenri/Diana animated it means so much cause they are part of the main plot of the whole story.
Anyway i think that 3rd season won't come out soon since there's not even an official announcement yet , but we can dream all we want =P.
THEY TEASED US.
They have to deliver now. D:
Like Khu said :heh: its not good to tease us and not deliver :heh:
woow... I actually don't understand this chapter in manga
But in anime they have done better job in introducing yuukyun! Yeah.. this epilogue is better than the first season's epilogue
10/10 from me... great job
I can't wait for season 3.... In season 2 they have made me love the conquest which I don't really like (well, I used to dislike Chihiro's arc and Nagase's arc but they have changed my opinion in anime version)
How about season 3??? they have a lot of my favourite conquest!!!
woow... Tsukiyo, Tenri, Diana, Akari, and Sumire spotted.... please release the third season next week... lol

Yeah, this is possibly the best and my favorite of the non-capture episode. I like how they tie in the theme, showing cameo of the past girls and ending it with season I OP. There are two things I'm not a fan of though - first, they showed Yokkyun's game, even just bits of it. I just feel that the game itself is best to be left to our imagination, especially since Keima, who has played literally thousand of games, consider it to be virtually perfect. And yet, while I don't call her bad, seeing her in the game doesn't seem that she's really all the way above the pack...
The second, like other people have said, is the tease for the next girls for the third season that may not even exist. There's definitely enough material, but the problem is the sales. I don't have the exact number, but I remember the first vol of season 2 is below the Manabi (sp?) line which means that they don't make much profit. The only hope is from the merchandises, as well as the fact that TWGOK is Manglobe best-selling anime even with the low numbers (Deadman Wonderland is even lower) so maybe they'll stick with it just because. Otherwise, they may do like their fellow Sunday manga Hayate no Gotoku and get another studio to do the continuation, but I'm not sure I like that and the chances are small anyway. In any case, it'll take at least a year until we heard news so for the time being, I'll just enjoy the manga.
I giggled like a little girl every time Yokkyun was on screen, she has one of the most atrocious design I've ever seen. It makes Key's early art look like a masterpiece :heh:
The Gundam parody was awesome and very faithful to the original. Sayla/Keima was... kind of hot :uhoh:
I like the designs of the new girls we see at the end (and there is... a loli!?), but I'm afraid I'll just get bored again for 70% of the series. That's assuming they do make a third season, that is. The multi heroine format definitely isn't working in anime for me. Unless each new girl is better than the previous one, it's no good. I want Shiori back!!

I give this episode 10/10. Though it might be wrong for me who haven't watched the entire series of season 2 yet, I found this episode to be extremely enjoyable. Almost all of it made me glued to my monitor screen while watching this episode.
First of all, I like how they presented Yokkyun in this episode. There are several times where I agreed with Keima at Yokkyun being cute (despite her design :heh: ) This didn't happen for me in the manga (while at that time I can only laughed at Keima's act toward his game :heh: ). I especially liked that part where 'Amuro and Char' fight, and then when every Keima turned Chibi. Also, the part where Keima and Yokkyun holds hand is very cute.
And then there's the music...god, it was excellent. Especially their choices of music during the credit and the last Yokkyun scene.. Oh, I almost forgot that bard tune during the first part of Keima's dreams.
...And all those teases of future capture target :heh: I hope this will have a season 3.

A great end to the second series I laughed pretty hard a number of times, and Keima's self debates on how games should be was hilarious.
Yokkyun reminded of the horrible artwork from the orginal Kanon. But I really started to fall for her at the end. :D
I am pretty sure her design was poking fun at Kanon[toei]'s designs :heh: given how Keima looked at some parts and the fact that shes looks so very much Ayu :p. And...
I wonder how many people out there gets what that "B's ware" is a reference to...
By the logo it a reference to key, but more so the 2chan which had "Leaf, Key BBS", so had the leaf being the start of the game with the clovers, key's logo, and thus B's ware further referenced those two companies didn't they?
I just don't get Manglobe... it's like Jekyll and Hyde... then again, ideals vs reality huh?... oh, Manglobe you, you got me... *bows*
Ekureiru

I'm suprised no one got the other Mamoru Hosoda reference.
It was in the mid-episode title, which was named 'Summer Wars'. :heh:
Also, third season, anyone? I certainly think so, with the massive spoilers left for us by Manglobe.

I actually expect Keima not putting the move onto the kid. I means she is not even a loli like how i often classify them (undeveloped young teenager). She looks like a 6-7 years old kid. Maybe it will be a background chapter or sort xD
Anyway, if there is another season, then S3 will have the turning point of the entire series!! I'm all excited thinking about it actually. I'm all excited just looking at the ED of this season in fact. If they make S3 24 episodes, and put the rest of the cast on..... it will be a real disappointment if the fan base does not at least double by the end of it

Another best season finale by The World God Only Knows!
Cameos from the girls recently conquered? Check!
Keima being Keima? Check!
Gundam Parody? Check!
Yokkyun? Yokkyun!
Beautiful songs? Check!
And finally, a tease for the next girls to be captured by Keima in the next season.
Ten out of Ten!
Ten for Tenri. Nah, but it was a really awesome finale altogether so yeah. My heart hurts a little now that TWGOK ended once again.

I liked this episode, it suits the series very well.
Anyone know what the insert song was by the way? During the Gundam praody period. PM me or reply here if you got an idea! Thanks.
Yeah, we didn't get enough Haqua this season. She's the big seller, so you'd think they'd put more in. I guess maybe the OVA will cover her and hopefully sales will be higher for that.
They need to merchandise the heck out of Haqua, and maybe it will be enough to push them into marginally profitable territory.

I like this manga but it's never on my top tier list; but strangely the anime adaptation is. How uncommon for me to say that the adaptation is stupendously fantabulous to the point of mind-blowing.
5 heroines for next season? Interestingly, squeezing in 5 heroines is what I believe to be a strategic move to reach *****'s arc to reach an important point in the series that will give breadth to the story to increase the chance of having a season 4.
I never fully enjoy episodes that are only about galge, but Yokkyun was entertaining for a while, and Elsie singing and Diana was a big plus (Diana was smiling a little too pleasantly though).

I just realize that the company that made "One Leaf" is called "B's ware".
As in Bioware!
I think mangaglobe are Bioware fans since in ep 10, there was a poster called "Dragon Age".
That was brilliant! Now let's hope for that third season because we can't do without Tenriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...
And we got another Heidi parody! I love those since I grew up with that show...

I can't stop grinning while watching this super cliche and sweet episode. It's over the top for me but that's great. Giving it full marks is right thing to do. But what's with the teaser animation of the new girls. They better announce a third season by the time the ova shows up.

Before anyone start canvasing over Tenri, please be reminded that the Mahou Shoujo is MINE.
Now get your hands off her before I boil you all in Sumire's noodle soup.
P.S Who's going to be her V.A? Rie Tanaka? Eri Kitamura? Asami Imai?
Saintess, you keep reminding me of why I love you, my friend :heh:
Note alongside that warning, the student teacher is mine.
P.S. It better be freakin' Eri Kitamura.

well, there is an OVA to look forward to, in September... and i think there's a spoiler around already on what manga chapter it'd be based on. and i'll leave it at that.

Could it be the story of Elsie going to Hell to get the award fot the captures?

Yokkyun for saimoe lol
I think I enjoyed this series more than the first series, really, I think they've refined it to a higher level.
Yes. A third series would be nice...
Keima's true love finally appear...All hail Yokkyun!!
Meh, I was actually waiting for them to go "Sieg Keima" or something like that, but then, I laugh all the way through the Gundam 0079 reference (Keima as Captain Bright, Amuro & Char...)
Now here hoping for 3rd Season...
I nerver thought Keima would fall for Yokkyun, I wonder what he see in her :heh:.
The teaser was to much for me :frustrated:. I hope the won't have us wait to long.:uhoh:
the third season will come... otherwise Elsie will not say 'すずく' or something

It's つづけ, which actually means "To be Continued", which means the 3rd season must and should come! :)

Beautiful character development that surpasses all others that Keima has faced against. Which explains why they all started to join forces peacefully when the Gundam 0079 reference went around :heh:
Best episode ever for TWGOK ....
1- Yokkyun <3
2- Gundam version
3- ED

$%^#^*#!!!
Why does it always take so long to load between disk 2 and 3?
I think I'll go play some FF7 while I'm waiting.
Bring on the next season and the next batch of girls! :D
like how most of the girls got a cameo this ep. Lol at Keima fighting with himself over the ideals about making a game. What was with that tease at the end with the other girls. I want a 3rd season now.

Why we can only grade this as 10 :( I want a 11 :P
Awesome finale for the season and REALLY LOVE THE 0079 GUNDAM REFERENCE.

I think it means to be continued (in the manga).
I'd be surprised, but not disappointed if a 3rd season is ordered.

With the tease at the end, I don't know whether I should curse Manglobe for torturing manga-readers like myself, or pray for the success of their sales figures so that the arcs of the girls we root for to be finally animated.
And Goddamnit, it's Tenri! Her arrival, along with Diana, pretty much changes the rules (or rather, expands) of the game.

If the VA is Kaori Mizuhashi, Aoi Yuki or Saito Chiwa (hint : magicianal girl), it will certainly be the biggest joke in the anime industry ever. :heh:
Though I secretly hope it will be Nana Mizuki - but she is too expensive to hire as a seiyuu.

Considering they gave the Go on S2 with only an average of 2000 in BD/DVD sales, I don't think it'd be too hard to get a S3.

The first two seasons of TWGOK was a split cour season, no matter if it sold 20,000 or 1000 the second half was always going to happen.
As much as I would love to see a 3rd season (and a 4th, a 5th, a 6th, a 7th etc...) I really doubt we would get one. I think the S.E Manga Volume with the OVA would have to sell really good to even give us more bundled OVAs.... lets not even think a 3rd season....
I can't figure out what's different about Tsukiyo's design. But I think she looks much better than in the manga.
Minami looks surprisingly good too.
Keima got some nice season ending lines. Ideal route in the real world? ...it must secretly be the harem end! You can do it Keima!
Yokkyuuuun!!
That was a great way to conclude the second season. Amazing battle inside Keima's brain was even more amazing than in manga, which is a great accomplishment for the creators. And that teaser at the end, I just hope the sales are good enough to support the production of the third season. Kami Nomi isn't Kami Nomi if Tenri doesn't show up. That's where the real deal starts.
Shimono Hiro grew totally accustomed to Keima. He must have got used to voicing characters who are out-of-ordinary, a bit loser-like in some way. Be it Keima, Yabe from Mitsudomoe, that loser from 30-sai no Hoken Taiiku, Akihisa from BakaTest, or Haneda Takashi from OreTsuba.
What a great ending, although I can't see how Keima could like that character. By the to-be continued at the end, does it mean we could get a third season? :D

Yokkyunnnnnnn!
Another best season finale by The World God Only Knows!
Cameos from the girls recently conquered? Check!
Keima being Keima? Check!
Gundam Parody? Check!
Yokkyun? Yokkyun!
Beautiful songs? Check!
And finally, a tease for the next girls to be captured by Keima in the next season.
Ten out of Ten!
Parody of The End of Evangelion? Check!
(Everyone turning the same and merging into a symbolistic form)
Omake? Failed.
Why omitting the easiest stuff to animate?
They did it for Kusunoki only.

Google their names together. They are all great candidates for Tenri the magical girl and they appeared in the same anime together once.

Mostly because she brings the 'Kami' to Kami Nomi, quite literally.
I can live with an OVA, given the low sales of the series in general, but her arc has to be animated somehow, as it's pretty much a turning point for Kami Nomi. :(

90% of the last ep was a chore to watch. I really wanted to gut my eyes out when I saw that abomination of a heroine and al the shiet leading up to the MC writing back to the company. The only redeemable thing was the last 2 minutes with the reveal of season 3.
I wonder how many people out there gets what that "B's ware" is a reference to...NIS America?

She isn't the "kami" in the name; Keima is.

It makes me SO happy that they included Tsukiyo and Tenri. Tsukiyo is so cute. <:
I still feel that season 2 is a little dragged out but not nearly as bad as season 1. The anime is decent but I definitely find the manga to be far more enjoyable.
I give season 2 a 7.5/10 (I gave season 1 a 7.0/10). I'm really looking forward to season 3 because of Tsukiyo and Tenri. <:

As with the first season, the last episode of the second season focused on Keima and him alone. It was an interesting episode. I especially like how it is shown that even he cannot decide on something he is doing his whole life - playing games. He couldn't find that perfect one. I really liked what he wrote back in the reply message, was the right thing too.
Now, in the end, he realised that he is a part of the real world as well, although he hated to admit it. I hope that will effect on the 3rd season, it might make things a bit interesting.
