Lazy Dog [possible spoilers]

Hey i just wanted to know from those who read the manga if that damn dog ever does anything or if he just hides out in the bushes the whole time?

Dude ... it's like a little dog, his job is to be smart and have ridiculous tracking abilities. And he's not lazy, he does what he's supposed to very well.

I know he is a dog and is specialty is tracking but I was just curious if he assisted in anyway beyond tracking down garaa

Not really. He's just really smart and his sense of smell is acute that he can detetc how many people there are in a certain radius by smelling them.

Actually if you read the manga closely, you will see that he slowly feeds Naruto his special chakra which heals him... all the while doing supersonic attacks which make you believe he is doing nothing. Nothing is safe when you do not suspect the dog. There is a reason why he was on Naruto's keychain in that one episode. He eventually turns on naruto when Naruto is all exhausted. It gets freaky to see the true power of "PURI PURI" released. His claw swipe looks like it could even knock out Itachi. Most people are too focused on the Naruto fight to be paying attention to the little dog.

Ok I just explained what he does and people are still saying he's useless ... It's a dog the size of a Chihuahua. I guess people would appreciate him more if we went around rasenganing people and summoning really cool things. Hell kishimoto should set up a pakkun vs. itachi showdown.

Nobody said that he's useless after you posted--they just said he does absolutely nothing in the upcoming fight but act as a spectator and commentator--and this is entirely true.

Well he did actually did something once. Twice actually,
#1 biting Zabuza in the arm
#2 Hangings as Naruto's Keychain.

But we shouldn't expected much from him. Except watching out for his awesome Puri Puri powers as pointed out before.

If I recall correctly, he didn't bite Zabuza in the arm. He was hanging in front of Zabuza by a kerchief, or wrapping, or something. I don't think he broke flesh-- he was just an added weight of sorts.
