For what it's worth I've seen only one person freak out over the "bromance," most of those who didn't like the game simply complained about the character interaction in general overshadowing the player character's interaction with the target guy, and also about some of the stories being too angsty. (In any case, I quite like the idea of OtoyaxTokiya, so I wouldn't have any problems with the bromance. :heh: )

I can sort of understand if the gamers were not so pleased with Nanami being overshadowed since it means less player self-insert situations, but in the case of the anime I doubt it'd be a problem at all. I mean, who watches UtaPri for Nanami anyway? :heh: Even Miyukicchi's lovely voice can only do so much.

Anyway, that was Debut, but the release of the second season is a bit too uncomfortably close to the release of the All Stars game... :/ in Debut you couldn't play the senpai yet but they have routes in All Stars so I imagine the producers will want to promote them...

And about who will get the spotlight in the 2nd season, I think that at least the teachers will just get 1 or 2 episodes and that's it.

A shame that Shining Saotome doesn't have a route. Well, he would need an entire game based on him:heh: and I wouldn't mind a yuri or friendship route with her roommate

I think it's more because he is the most successful amongst STARISH as a solo artist (SuzuKen likely the second), so his label probably pushes hard for him. After all he sings the OP as himself and not Tokiya. Wel of course his position as main love interest helps too but still.

It's just that, even if he sings as himself, he still voices Tokiya who is already a bit over-exposed (yes, they needed some semblance of a plot in season 1, but tbh I fast-forwarded through most of his angst... it would've been a bit less painful if the rest of the group had been more involved) so I have this knee-jerk "mehh" reaction.

That reminds me, I wonder what they plan to do with the romance aspect, provided they want to take it further than it is now. S1 had pretty much done away with the possibility of an actual competition, so it would be annoying if they kept trying to make it seem as if there were more than one possibility. (It was bad enough in S1 when they kept pushing poor Otoya for some reason, even though it was obvious from ep 1 that Tokiya was the real love interest.) But it would be very boring if they hooked up just like that, with the rest of the guys providing decoration as wallflowers.

I guess the others could just officially hook up with each other and be done with it :D though even in that case Otoya would be still left out...

I do hope they'll have more music and hijinks this time... in S1 it was like "look, here are the guys, they're cute, now let's move on to Tokiya being emo the story"... We barely learned anything about them. :/

Tokiya seriously needs some defrosting. I know he's supposed to be the "cool"/ice queen type, but it's amusing to look at illustrations made for the anime: Tokiya often has this angry, disapproving look, like "wtf am I doing here, I hate this ಠ_ಠ)" and sticks out like a sore thumb. :heh: (And that's when he's not trying to smile, he looks scary then.)

I don't think so - her eyes are the same in the game, except there the "shadow" is also green-ish, and there are more details. I guess they scrapped this from the anime because it would've been a pain to animate, and that's where it went wrong.

(Actually, if you look at most game stills/illustrations, everyone's eyes are like that, at least most of the time. It got changed to solid black pupils in the anime, except, for some reason, in Haruka's case.)

well since the 1st season somebody joked that Nanami had yandere eyes, which somehow makes sense if you read the plot..... :uhoh::heh:
or even demonic/berserker eyes
or even heck: Gundam Seed's SEED Mode eyes, yes you got it, Nanami is basically superhuman 24/7 which seems legit awsome or hilarious :uhoh::heh:

1) oh my, it seems A-1 noticed all that squee over Otoya & Tokiya's hip gyration thing in the first ED, now it's back with extra skinship action, and it really is 2000%! XDD Shameless, shameless pandering done right. XD (I can't even begin to imagine the conversation during animation planning. "So at this point they should... hmm...." "Shake their asses!" "No, not enough. How about they turn around and slap their butts?" "Oooh yes!" "Oh! And there, Shou should run his hands down Cecil's hips!" "DAMN YOU'RE A GENIUS!")

2) Otoyaaaaaaaa~~~~

3) it seems Haruka has a thing for blue-haired guys...

4) Ren's lines are so hilariously smarmy and cheesy... XDD

5) uh, where did Camus go? He just disappeared and nobody seemed to care.. :heh: Anyway, Reiji is still the most likeable of the senpai, but I hope the senpai won't hog the spotlight in the anime. I'm in this for STARISH.

6) Tomo-chaaaaannn!! Why is there no Tomo-chan route? She and Haruka are so cute together.

7) Cecil route..? (I guess in that case they won't do the same they did in 1000%, where they pushed Otoya only to discard him for Tokiya... :heh: I felt so sorry for him. Well, I guess I can prepare to feel sorry for him in this series, too... :heh: )

8) The "OP" that was ED in this ep... eh, dunno, there's a bit too much going on. I wasn't crazy about the 1000% OP song but I really liked the OP visuals and how the whole thing was put together. I think I'll need more time to get used to this, and Miyano's falsetto. (I'll never get used to his vibrato.)

By the way, I continue to be infinitely amused by the crowd sounds during the "live" segments. XD I would've loved to be there when they recorded them....

The dance is even more ridiculous (and let's not talk about the outfits) than the previous although this time the song isn't catchy and they used a lot of autotune or sound effects.

Good to see Shining and the teachers again, the trap's outfit is so fabulous

And finally Reijiiiiiii (and Mikaze Ai, Camus and Ranmaru can go to hell) with awesome technology and fabulous dancing. I even liked it more than the ED

The opening song with the visuals was good despite that when I saw the song's PV I wasn't fond of it.

At this rate if they ever do a third season the boys will do a full BL chippendale routine... XDDD Anyway, I actually like the outfits much more than the ones from the debut live, those looked too ridiculous (and Natsuki looked rather creepy).

Wow they upped the standard on the dancing moves. Nice to see Tomo-chan and the teachers again, that butterfly outfit was great. Saotome was fabulous as always. I did a double take for when the senpai appeared, glad i wasn't seeing things as the fourth guy actually disappeared. So i guess Cecil's route is first.

It's nice seeing my fav characters in an anime again.
Natsuki is an airhead, just like Haruka.
Seems like the rest of them are pretty much the same as well.
Ichinose still has a stick up his ass. That guy needs to loosen up a bit.
I like the new characters, the 4-boys group.
They look like serious pains, but I guess it's 'cause they're pros.
It was a nice first episode ^^ I will be watching this one!

1) WHERE IS MY CAMUS?!
2) Will Cecil break the curse?
3) How will they integrate Cecil into STARISH?
4) How will the others treat Cecil, I mean he didn't take the debut exam... he wasn't even taking classes... he was the school's cat!!!
(don't get me wrong I love my prince :3 <3)
5) Will a romance plot continue or an idol plot remain (I love them without Haruka because I can't stand her eyes, so I'm totally okay with that :D, though if there is some romance development I hope it's with Tokii)
6) Will they show us manly Ringo-sensei?

....ah so many questions (and much more I won't post to avoid spoiling someone >.<), so little episodes... I'm already hoping for a 3000% xD

The setting looks like another otome game setting. The female protagonist is typical dull girl. It's probably what female consumers see themselves. This pattern is similar to the indecisive male protagonist(of harem dating game).

I like Haruka though. She has some drive and skill. She's just clueless, but I can relate to that. She could be a bit more rounded. I liked Felicita in La storia della Arcana Famiglia, and would consider her a bit more well developed while still being in this type of setting.

Tokiya has experience doing OOC things because of HAYATO☆, so I think he's learned to suck it up. Masato... probably has a lot of things pent up in that dam of the heart of his, so maybe that's his way of coping? :heh::eyespin:

Uh, no? It's because the focus of the game/anime is the boys, and a strong, central main female chara would divert the attention from them.

Yeah, you're probably right... Perhaps it'll be Cecil & Camus' story + the other guys' adventures with their senpai, and after that's done they'll be back to Tokiya again (Tokiya has a "solo" segment in the OP so I guess he'll continue to be the official love interest. :/ )

Me too! but I'm pretty much resigned to a Tokiya x Haruka end. In S1 I felt so sorry for Otoya, he was getting pushed so much only to get dismissed as a potential love interest... :heh: Oh well, I just hope he won't have less screentime in 2000% what with Cecil around. (And that whatever the main conflict will be, I hope it's not going to be as boring as the Tokiya storyline in S1.)

A few points on episode 2

-The first half of the episode seems like recap of the characters.
-I thought Cecil was a cat that turned into a prince who was a figment of Haruka's mind? Though i read that it was some curse. It's been nearly 2 years since I watched the first season.
-Can is ay how awesome Miyano Mimoru's OP song is. It does give the show a much more intense feel than it actually is.
-The show is so corny at times you can't help but enjoy and laugh at it.
-Cecil's back talk to everyone makes me like him more haha.
-How can you not love Syo? His black nails make him.
-These episodes seem to go by really fast for some reason.

I've always liked his design so it's nice that he looks vaguely psycho in the anime, too. XD;;

As for the actual story, this ep was hilarious. XD Why so short, UtaPri?

Others were not too happy about Cecil's arrival though..
That guy has some interesting skills and no shame at all.

Everytime I see Cecil I can't help but think of Saliyaa from Garnet Cradle (doesn't help that Elements Garden also did the OST for it). But he was pretty awesome during the episode although the other Starish are the guardians of Haruka's chastity so he's going to have it difficult.

It's hard not to love some of these characters. The show is one I probably wouldn't enjoy, but for some reason it sucks you in. Definitely a guilty pleasure hahaha.

Curious as to what the plot this season will be though. Last season it was kind of Haruka making it through the school and trying to graduate and finding out who her idol was.

I really like her and find her relatable, but a bit flat at times. She has more personality than others, like the heroine from Amnesia, but still I'd like to see more from her, and maybe talk back slightly. That'd be funny and shocking.

Sometimes I think one reason they would rather not create a strong personality for heroines of these types of games/shows is kinda like how teddy bears don't have expressions. Projection of their own self emotions onto the character.

Just saw episode 3

Certainly the best of the season so far, though we're only 3 episodes in. Can't believe we got a Syo themed episode so soon.

-This show wins for best OP of the season, and one of the best OSTs of the season as well. I loved that more celtic-inspired theme on the set of the movie.

-My SyoxHaruka chipping levels are through the roof after this! They still lack some chemistry though.

-I thought it was weird that Haruka didn't speak for like half the episodes.

-lol Haruka is so clumsy. That platform was so wide, so I don't know how she fell off. Also don't really know how she ended up there in the first place. Did she just climb the stairs all the way to find him?

-Wouldn't the set normally be closed that late at night? I guess i shouldn't look too much into it, considering Cecil was a prince who turned into a cat haha.

-Syo giving Haruka his hat in the end was super cute.

I also liked the relationship between Syo and Hyuga explored in the episode. It kinda relates to all of us in a way. When we put someone on a high pedestal, it's only going to hurt us more when they finally fall from grace. Though that didn't really happen in here, Syo is finding out more about Hyuga, and a harsh reality that they are in a way rivals now that Syo is an actor.

-Shou episode is unsurprisingly full of MANLINESS and OTOKOGI and overcompensating TESTOSTERONE and of course Kenka no oujisama. XDD I do wonder, though, since when does Haruka have acrophobia? :heh:

-Hyuuga-sensei and Kenka no oujisama will never stop being hilarious. :D

-Natsuki is such a sweetheart when he's not trolling Shou...

-It seems Tokiya is still not really a part of the group... It was pretty awkward when everyone was worrying about Shou, except Tokiya. :heh: I guess we can expect more solo angst from him in the future.

-Shou still needs to work on his singing... :heh: *is shot*

-the legendary UtaPri Awards. Okay. XDDDD It was kind of hilarious that the senpai couldn't win it, though. (Who won it, then?)

-I'm kind of bummed that the rest of the group barely appeared, though. :/ Are all chara focus eps going to be like this?

-who wants to bet that Shou's jump, or rather his landing, will become a meme? :D There was some beautiful animation there... (it was so quality, it had to be on purpose XD)

As for the OP, it's growing on me but I liked S1's OP better, both the song and the visuals. (I thought it was a pretty well made OP.) This one is all right, but I don't know, to me it feels like Miyano's voice isn't strong enough for this song. (Could be just the mixing, but it was the same with S1 OP, except there they wisely arranged the instrumentals not to drown out his voice.)

By the way, I just noticed that Haruka's boobs light up and sparkle when Otoya grabs her arm. XD;;

That reminds me of the best part of the episode: MAXIMUM MANLINESS!!!

I loved that outfit Syo had on. It makes me happy that everyone changes outfits in the show, makes it a bit more realistic.

This was the first episode where I truly recall Syo and Haruka having a "moment". I bet it'll happen with the others too. Too bad he'll never end up with her because he has Natsuki :D

Oh and the music I was talking about that I loved was around the 8:25 mark and when Syo was trying to jump. I love that one.

Btw I read a question on Crunchyroll that was intriguing,
So my question is...did the "Uta Pri" award exist in the Otome game, or did they create that from the show's nickname "Utapri" when they decided to make a second season because the first was such a hit? XD

Anyone know the answer? Was it in the game? Either way it sets up the focus for the season.

As for BGMs, at least two of the BGMs during the character intro scenes in ep 1 were based on the character's insert song in S1. (Otoya and Shou definitely, perhaps Masato, too... but not Natsuki or Tokiya, at least as far as I'm aware. I don't remember Ren's song. :heh: )

Anyone know the answer? Was it in the game? Either way it sets up the focus for the season.
As far as I know it's an anime only thing.

UtaPri awards? And lol when Masato made that comment about avenging Ranmaru. I haven't played the game but I don't remember people mentioning it in their reviews so I guess it's anime-only? Anyway UtaPri is the only adaptation where I don't mind if they put new stuff as long as it's funny.
I preferred Syo's song from the previous season.

I think its better to take what A-1 pictures throws at us, I've given up thinking it would be loyal to the game. :heh:
A-1 are just animating it, though. The whole thing is done with Broccoli's blessing.

Anyway, since there are seven main characters (not counting the senpai or Ringo & Hyuuga, it seems the senpai won't hog the spotlight in the anime, thank god) and only 13 episodes, they can't really be faithful to the game where all the characters have their own complete routes with three available endings. :heh: They'd have to pick a boy and concentrate on him throughout the show, sidelining the others. Instead, if they're following S1, they're trying to spend equal time on everyone, and add some actual plot development in the last 4 eps. I do miss some info that would give the characters more depth (such as Otoya's background) but it would be either addressing the issues of one chara in their focus episode and forgetting about them for the rest of the show, or completely fragmenting the show by trying to juggle the issues of all seven characters, plus Nanami, plus the plot...

(For what it's worth, though, I expect they're going to continue focusing on Tokiya as the love interest, once the chara focus episodes and the business with Cecil are done. After all, his chara song is the last, following Cecil's. Otoya's is the third which just further cements the fact that by now he's completely out of the picture. :/ )

Episode 4 - OK, this was hilarious XDDD oh Masa, you and your ~otokogi~ XDD

I'm pretty sure the only thing everyone will remember about this episode is Tokiya in drag confessing his love to Masa, and crying "tohohoho~" XDDDDDD This was totally a BL pandering episode, what with Natsuki and Shou doing their thing (well, Natsuki doing his), and the whole hilarity with Masa and Tokiya. XD But I guess the Masa x Tokiya ship sunk when Masa couldn't hug Tokiya. XDDD (perhaps they should've tried it with Ren? XD)

Masa himself was all-around hilarious, even his song was hilarious. XDD His songs tend to be pretty "meh" for me (sorry, Suzumura ._. it's not your fault), but now I want to hear him sing a traditional enka. XDD

Cecil is kind of annoying, though. :/ I know what they're trying to do with him, but eehh... :/ At least Haruka's general reaction to him is "uwaah control yourself" instead of treating him as a love interest.

Apropos Haruka, her voice in the scene when she talked to Cecil (after she was done freaking out) was soooo beautiful! Why doesn't she use this voice more often?

Lol I love Cecil. I like that he tends to say what others won't say. It's nice seeing him in every episode, and I liked his line of Haruka being a prisoner to them. I never really considered that idea, but I guess it plays into how some folks see those they idolize: it's almost like a prison. Though i wouldn't say that applies so much here, but I do see Cecil's point.

Ahh Tokiya was too funny. I love the weird, blown proportions faces they make in the show.
A Hirijikawa episode, but lots of the other folks too. The episodes feel awfully short though. Hope we see some of the senpais later.

Meanwhile, currently on my shipping with Haruka list:

My problem with Cecil is that right now he's a borderline Mary Sue. :heh: The exotic foreign royalty who is so special he's scouted by Shining himself, he has a ~special connection~ with the heroine, he ~rebels~ against the constraints and conventions, he immediately shows the original charas how much better he is than they are, he has all the good ideas, he sets the others straight about obvious stuff, etc...

Like the line about why they don't use Haruka for practice. They missed a pretty nice zinger there, by having everyone go "ooh! thanks Cecil, why didn't we think of that!" like they're complete idiots. (Well, they are idiots, but you know what I mean. XD) It would've been funnier and less annoying if it turned out that they didn't use Haruka because they didn't want Masa to monopolize her, or something like that. :heh:

(Also, I'm a bit miffed because he's basically Otoya #2 but gets to have all the focus, and do all the stuff Otoya is not allowed to. I'm going to be even more miffed if the Otoya episode goes the way this episode went...)

I just started watching season one out of boredom and I"m seriously surprised at how much I liked it so far. MC is a speshul snowflake whom all the boys love in some way, though I'm not sure about Miyano's character (or as me and my friend calls him, "Japanese Justin Timberlake).

I'm starting to warm up to Haruka some; she's wishy washy as hell, but I've seen worst female MCs(Amnesia). I'm horrible because I laugh my arse off at how every song is a reference to how much of a speshul snowflake Haruka is..:heh:

I have to say though...this has turned me onto Miyano's music. Of all of the seiyuu I've some to known throughout the years, I have to honestly say Miyano is probaly one of the few that can sing. Same with whomever voices the bluehaired Tsundere that isn't Tokiya and Sawabe's character. Those guys can seriously sing.

I prefer the individual songs though; I can't get past that goofy ED and its hilarious Engrish :heh:

Yeah, this is subjective and all but I think Natsuki's songs are the most catchy (and he has the most insanely over-the-top romantic lyrics XD). Shimono Hiro... his speaking voice is fine and all, but his singing... :heh: As for Otoya, I think the problem with his song in 1000% is that Terashima is singing like half an octave out of his normal range, and you can just tell he's having a hard time. XD It's better in Otoya's other songs. (It's funny, though, in his first songs he's singing in a more comfortable register, but in the following songs it gets higher and higher... :heh: I hope this won't continue this in next week's episode.)

I'm guessing that's probably why Ichinose is the main boy.
From what I can tell Miyano is pretty popular over there, much more so than the others, plus I guess his agency is pushing him really hard, I guess that's why he sings the OP songs and stuff. I guess his popularity has to do with Tokiya being the main boy, but I think it's also because his game story was the easiest to adapt to screen. (He's still annoying, though.)

My mind is blown though: Cecil is voiced by Saitou Hajime? Is that guy a good singer?

I think (though I'm highly biased) that Ittoki is the favorite prince, and we got two songs from him! (even if TRUST☆MY DREAM was from last season)

Turns out he actually 1) has a personality, 2) has a sense of humor (and he's not above trolling Otoya and Haruka, in his own way) and 3) his relationship with Otoya is all sorts of delicious and funny (Otoya is not above trolling him either, though whether he does it deliberately or not...), 3) he's actually hilarious when they're not trying to make him all ~cool~ and ~romantic~. :heh: And 4) he absolutely sucks at drawing, but he's very earnest about his "art". XD

Slap him!)

- Btw, Cecil, if I were you I wouldn't flaunt my stalking tendencies in front of the girl I used to stalk. Go Tomo-chan! Protect Haruka!

- Ren has very impressive lungs and throat if he could make everyone hear him in that arena...

- Also, best action scene so far: RenBro putting that CD on like a boss.

- Oooh, Haruka said the "s" word! She also rhapsodized about how Ren's singing makes her hot, I think this is the first time she said anything like that to anyone. :heh: She was pretty proactive in this episode, I guess they're trying to make up for the lack of raburabu with Ren in S1.

- Haruka aside, this is totally an episode about Ren and the men in his life. First Masa dropping the tsuntsun act and being a concerned osananajimi ("I've known you all my life, I know when something is troubling you" = "I LOVE YOU" in BL-ese), then Ren's brother issues and bro's Ren issues, which culminate on some sort of rooftop(?) complete with setting sun, and the brother dropping the "I've always loved your music" line. We all know what that means in UtaPri. XD It doesn't help that both RenBro and Ren look like guys out of some typical BL manga. :heh:

- He is so epic that he makes the CD sparkle
- He has a brother complex and their scenes were so gay.But then Ren strikes with his overly-cheese lines.

- I will never understand why we never got Tomo route if they are adorable every time they are together

Ren's brother ended up being pretty amusing. I like how UtaPri doesn't take itself seriously enough to spring all these silly sides to otherwise typical characters. Count Permafrost still takes the cake though.

LOL. This show has actually made me like Suwabe more. Before, I always thought of him as someone who always played either assholes or romantic leads. Or sometimes I got him confused with Shinichiro Miki.

I also find it rather cool and amusing that most of the actors like Suwabe and that guy who voices Cecil are in their late 30s/early 40s and still can kick it better than most of the current crop of actors out there. This cast not withstanding.

I'm actually surprised Ono or Namikawa aren't in this since they can both sing as well and are usually in ladyfanbait like this.

Hm I didn't really see any sort of brother complex like others are saying. Did I miss it? All i saw was an older brother who actually cares about his brother.
Don't mind me, that's just my mind speaking from the gutter. :3 Thing is, Ren was pretty much in a romance heroine position throughout the episode ("I want my cool, aloof senpai oniisama to recognize me, but of course I'd never say it out loud!" "I can't let senpai oniisama's show be ruined, I must ~save the day~ with my sparkling special talent, and wow him and everyone in the process" etc XD), and Bro as the love interest ("I pretend to be cold but I'm just being tsundere and I'll stop being tsun and reveal my real ~passionate feelings~ in her moment of need" "I'm wowed and deeply touched by her ~real talent~ shine" "OK let's tell her my feelings on a rooftop with the setting sun as a backdrop" "I've always loved you your songs.") XD All that was missing was Bro taking a blushing Ren's hands or something. XD

And this is further complicated by the Jinguuji brothers looking like they just popped out from a generic BL manga. :heh:

I also find it rather cool and amusing that most of the actors like Suwabe and that guy who voices Cecil are in their late 30s/early 40s and still can kick it better than most of the current crop of actors out there. This cast not withstanding.
Well, age doesn't matter a lot in voice acting in their age range, especially for men... (unless they smoke or drink heavily or something like that)

I'm actually surprised Ono or Namikawa aren't in this since they can both sing as well and are usually in ladyfanbait like this.
It' been a long time since I last heard Namikawa sing on his normal voice (and sing seriously - he sang the OP to the fake Mossan anime in Azazel-san XD) but as I remember his voice is not really suited for these type of songs...

This week's episode brought to you by lots of stills and speedlines. Also the most forced Cecil appearance to date. I could almost imagine the staff planning out the episode and go "Oh shit, it's been 17 minutes and we forgot about Cecil!" :heh:

Fun episode as usual. I love Cecil vs the rest of STARISH, especially how Syo and Otoya were the ones that went against him, fitting since they're the most athletic of the group (and why they were the only ones doing backflips in the ED lol). Like the first season, Natsuki's song is prob my favourite again.

I like Natsuki a lot, but somehow this episode left me cold... it wasn't funny or sweet enough. :heh: (I guess it doesn't help that I'm not crazy about the whole Satsuki situation.) The Piyo-chan CM and the Satsuki vs rest of Starish fight was nice, though. XD I don't really like the song either, which is weird because Natsuki's songs tend to be my favorites. (So far my favorites are Masa's and Otoya's songs. Suzumura's enka is just awesome. He really needs to sing a proper one one of these days. xD)

It was nice to see the other guys working as well, though. Esp. Otoya, he's the only one whose episode wasn't about dealing with a job (even the variety scene focused on Cecil). Also, is it just me or did it seem like Cecil developed a crush on Natsuki? XD

Anyway, wow, if I hadn't known that Tokiya is the "main boy"... :heh: Natsuki was the first one who managed to say the "s" word to Haruka (even though it wasn't dramatic enough), and Haruka was more proactive than ever before.

Actually, it seems to me that the LOVE is getting more intense with each episode: in Shou's ep it could've been passed off as friendship, in Masa's ep it was romantic but distant, Otoya managed to get his hands on her and ALMOST said the "s" word (thank you, Cecil -___-), Ren got her to say she likes him and that he makes her feel ~hot~ XD and this episode was just total romance all around. At this rate Tokiya will kiss her, and Cecil will sleep with her, or something. :heh:

I liked this episode far more than Ren's episode. But that may have to do more with how much I like Natsuki over Ren. :heh: (Ren's attitude irritates me sometimes.) Natsuki's song was only so-so though. The singing was fine. But the lyrics were kind of meh.

I think Natsuki should trade out his glasses for Cecil's sunglasses on a regular basis. They bring out a nice blend of his and Satsuki's personalities. Plus they make him look sexier. :D

Though I enjoyed Satsuki and his interaction with the other STARISH members (except Cecil's which was a disappiontment because it really was forced upon) I did not like Nacchan's songs, I felt it was missing something :/

Too bad since they could've developed more from Satsuki/Natsuki.

And seriously, that episode was so fast paced that everything felt like ahhbxsvsgxasgs done! -_- I know it's the rule of "One guy, one episode" but I wonder what will they do for the last 4 (?) episodes... will they cover the senpai routes or will they make an angsty Nanami that can't seem to compose a song for the group??

...and HOW are they gonna implement the idea of "hey, the title of the new song is Maji LOVE 2000%, you know? 'cuz 1000% wasn't enough anymore lol :p"?? (I can't complain about the song, I like it and all the fanservice they are giving ;), I just still feel the title is unoriginal)

Regardless I hope that song and Yume oibito he no symphony (sp?) are used in the episodes :D!

Lastly I'm a little bummed out that Tokii is not next (hey, Cecil already had his song episode titled, no fair!! >_> I love him but I wanted Tokiya next u.u), I suppose it will be how he integrated STARISH finally (!! :D) and either he's going to be the first in this season who has both songs on his idol CD named or... will they use Yume oibito no symphony as his ep title?? Ah!! I'm excited to know!! xD

Masa obviously adores her but can't admit it.

Ren got her to admit that she likes him and she admitted that she's turned on by him. Lmao at 'I'll bang youkiss you when you're older"

Natsuki's hard to tell: He obviously adores her(they all do), but he also likes cute things and if anything else, despite her piss-yellow eyes, Haruka is cute...

Obviously Ichinose will have the final word....and I think Haruka probably will fall for him....but it'll be fun to see Cecil make his move and how Haruka will react. He's already stalked her in her dreams so he'll probably be the first to actually kiss her.

I hope we see the four senpai in action: I'd like to see how Reiji, the Count and how the Robot all react to Haruka and write goofy songs on how special she is...

Sawabe looks like a normal everyday average Japanese guy in recent pictures I've seen...Cecil's VA looks like the dudes I grew up with; metalheads with long hair :heh:

There are actual live versions where they've gotten together to perform? I should look that up...somehow I get the feeling that Miyano's probably the only one who could dance out of that group considering his own background :heh:

Yeah really......not to sound mean, but I can't think of too many good looking Japanese male seiyuu....:heh: At least ones that are good looking enough for pop idol stardom.

Personally I like the older dudes anyway :heh: though I do think Daisuke Ono and Jun Fukuyama are pretty adorable. And Sakurai, Sawabe and Kenji Tsuda(Vince in Space Brothers, Suoh in K) have the sexiest voices.

I know what I mean is that if they used Junichi-san's pic (that look kinda recent) they might as well used Toriumi-san's too (and not create that much expectation :D)

For me look-wise SuzuKen is the cutest, then Mamoru, then Terashima (<3)

And yeah Shimono Hiro and Takuma Terashima are practically the human personifications of Syo and Otoyan ;):p:D

Also, anyone who hasn't watched the live events should!!! So far I've only seen the first one (the others I have yet to find, but there are short clips on niconico and YT and I wanna see them so bad because the senpai appear!! :D) but yes, it is VERY recommended imho [to let your inner fangirl go crazy as she pleases LOL]

The four senpais show up. There's only four or five episodes left and we know one of them will result in 2000% Love so obviously Cecil will be fine. And Ichinose has to have his Love moment with Haruka yet.

I kinda want to see the senpais have their 'Haruka is such a speshul snowflake that we are all in love with so we shall write songs praising her beautyyyy' moments. I bet the Count and Reiji's songs would be awesome.

And the Fish's following freakout would be hilarious....

Went all "kya kya" several times LOL; and I really liked the way others "grew up" in character: Ren talking about teamwork and Masato laughing (!!)... it became awkward after some seconds but thankfully they all joined in on the fun ^^Uuuu

I'm in this for them, but the senpai have almost completely taken over, in the latest game the "Rainbow route" is just an afterthought (you can only play it if you've cleared all senpai and both teachers, all guys' routes follow the same story for most of the time, and it's very short... people say it's very sweet, though). So more princes, less senpai for me!

As for the rival band, I'm sure of two things:

Most of the first half of this week's episode was insufferable and utterly unlikeable thanks to all the Cecil Sue being shoved down our throats. I'm maji 2000% unamused by his shit right now I couldn't even laugh when he parachuted down.

Thankfully as always, everything became better once SHINING SAOTOME arrived and the usual shenanigans began and saved the episode. I hope HEAVENS will have a few speaking lines and at least one song. I'm curious about them now especially the blonde on the right.

Perhaps. But so far, any time any senpai says something -- with the occasional exception of the red head -- I just want them to fall off their high horse. Preferably painfully. I'm not sure more screen time would convince me otherwise.

At least there's always Shining Saotome and his campiness and jizzing to make this show hilarious.....because to be honest? I would've dropped this series like a hot potato if this episode was on earlier :heh:

So is Ichinose getting his own episode or what? I mean...there's what three episodes left and everyone got the spotlight and Cecil Sue just got a mini-arc....seems kinda unfair if we don't get Ichinose telling Haruka how he loves her while Haruka stares at him while everyone else got an episode.

Yep, totally a new game. Spinoff, perhaps? I guess the senpai weren't popular enough so now they're trying some rivals.

They haven't announced a Heavens single, but all the Maji Love 2000% idol song CDs have c/w songs which may or may not indicate a game where they can be used (like how the Maji Love 1000% c/ws were used in the Debut game).

By the way, looking at some new official images... I wish they'd keep the Princes' heights consistent. :heh: They usually get the two extremes (Natsuki & Shou) right, but those inbetween... Sometimes Tokiya is as tall as Ren, sometimes he's shorter, sometimes Otoya is like half a head shorter than Tokiya (even though there's only a 4 cm difference) sometimes he's taller, etc.

This episode was really fun and over the top:D All of it was about HEAVENS with Yonaga Tsubasa as the shota, Midorikawa Hikaru voicing the S guy and the Kira guy was so silent that I couldn't catch his seiyuu. Like I predicted, their boss is Saotome's rival and he is: Raging Otori!!! voiced by Tomokazu Sugita?!:twitch: but Sugita can't sing

Thanks to previous episodes I can't stand Cecil, the senpais are so forgotten (a shame because I wanted them to reveal a plot twist regarding one of them) and I've liked Tokiya this season although his song wasn't really great, I can't even remember it despite that I just watched it.

If they make a new game with HEAVENS, are they really going to make a route with the 13-year old shota? The characters don't interest me enough to play a game about them.

Really disappointed that HEAVENS turned out to be a bunch of jerks that must be defeated for plot reasons. It's certainly a genre staple so I shouldn't complain but still... I wanted to like you Nagi! Now all I can like about you is your face and voice =(. OnoD's character ended as the most likeable HEAVENS solely because he mostly keeps his mouth shut so I can't label him a jerk unlike the other two. :heh: Also this combination of Midorin, Wing & OnoD is just weird. Doesn't make me care about hearing them sing together. Should've just gotten Trignal to be HEAVENS, I meant Yonaga's already there so they only needed Eguchi and Kimura. :p At least Raging was appropriately voiced by Sugita. Love the idea of Wakamoto vs Sugita. Now that's quite something! :heh:

At least it was fun watching STARISH protect Haruka against Midorikawa.

Maybe Tokiya will have more screen time next episode since he seems to be the only one who has seen that Haruka is feeling down.

I expected ~DRAMA~ but it ended up being funny. HEAVENS are a bunch of jerks, but the megane one kept cracking me up with his reactions, and the silent one was funny, too (when he introduced himself in that flat voice, and the fangirls squealed as if he'd just recited a love poem XDD). I don't care for the shota, though. And their boss... XDDD He and Saotome should just forget about their bands and have the most creepily fabulous showdown ever.

Poor Tokiya got kind of sidelined, but his song was rather "meh" (and Miyano still needs to do something about his vibrato, someone should force him to learn from Suzumura or Taniyama...), and I'm sure he's going to get extra screentime in the next episode, anyway. I just hope he won't angst... -_-)

As for the new seiyuu, count me among those who don't quite get why they chose these three, of all people, for HEAVENS... especially Midorikawa, but it's been a while since I last heard him (he keeps getting roles in anime that I don't watch :heh: ), so I'm not really complaining.

There's so much to say about this episode...

The episode was about Haruka's inner problems, at least this time they didn't insert drama. Wakamoto and his Engrish hilarious as always.
I did like Tokiya's song this episode but... what was he advertising? Himself or something more? He was cute with the glasses.

And suddenly festival episode (when did he change clothes? didn't he want to be in disguise? why do I question the fanservice?) which was actually cute and then we had the walk with the typical "I love... your songs"

The group song was your usual STARISH song and damn Haruka got high at the end:heh:
The others getting mad at Tokiya because he violated the pact:p I'm sure they've made some weird pact to maintain her chastity and purity

(This is why I'll never be good at otome games, there's always only one guy, or maximum two guys, that I'd want to pair up the heroine with... XD) If at least the show would give me some Otoya & Tokiya service, but no, they keep pairing Tokiya with Masa and Ren... Come on, UtaPri, throw me a bone! :heh:

Also, as for the "I love your music, your true self reflected in your music" (I paraphrase) line, I still can't help but find it amusing that essentially it's the exact same thing Otoya told Nanami in the beach episode in S1. :heh: First Nanami stole the "your true self blahblah" to use it on Tokiya, then Tokiya stole the "I love... your music" part to use it on Nanami, and in this episode he used the "your true self blah blah blah" on Nanami, too. Poor Otoya. :heh:

Anyway, aside of the above it was a nice episode - at least Tokiya wasn't his usual self, and he was surprisingly cute. And I think this was the first Tokiya song I liked. The group song... it's not as nice as Mirai chizu, but I guess it does its job. The animation was par for the course, but it was cute and happy. (Except... Otoya and Natsuki? Why? @_@)

So Ringo and Tomo-chan were the ones who made those ridiculous STARISH outfits and they liked it:heh:

Cecil and his Agnodance... Yeah whatever.

So Maji Love 2000% is magical and we had to listen to it without warning of the after-effects? The senpais have been very affected by it. Poor guys they're reduced to be STARISH fanboys by the power of their song.
I'm disappointed the most with Camus, he had that awesome introduction but in the rest of the anime he just observes.

Midorikawa thinks he's still in DiaLovers and tries to torment Haruka along with shota Yonaga but she is saved by Ranmaru. Oh and his sob story is that he was betrayed by his previous band mates so he wants to be alone (guess his real backstory will be ignored).

Let's go to the concert... First those awesome laughs made by Raging and Shining. The highlight was the over the top performance by HEAVENS! The song was like a more electronic version of Maji Love with lyrics to fit the heavens theme.

Raging & Shining XDDDD these two should just have a pose-off and be done with it. XD

HEAVENS' song was.... basically something you could've heard from STARISH. No wonder, though, same composer. And is it just me or did they steal the choreography from the senpais' Poison Kiss?

And then randomly, a dragon. OK. XD;;

(But the "GO GO OTO-NII!" kids were adorable! :D )

Oh, and there was some nice bgm in this ep, instrumental versions of various songs.
