Well if they cover 3 chapters like they did in episode 78, the last episode of the arc should be 79. If they try to strech it like they usually do by adding fillers then it's 2 more episodes.

I don't count the funeral as part of the Gaara arc because that's when they introduce Itachi and Itachi is part of the Tsunade arc.

ussually they don't cover this many chapters in one episode, tho. i doubt they'd do that again. but considering the oro vs sandaime ends before naruto vs gaara (in the manga), i'm gunna say they will drag out both tear jerking ends of each fight into 2 eps.

My guess us that to make up for ep 78 they will both drag their feet (2 more eps) and add some stuff that wasn't completly covered in the manga(1 more ep). This would be like seeing other leaf nin kick the crap out of sound and sand. A little Kikashi, Gai, and parental action. And while I agree the funeral won't count for me they probably will have to recap it cause Naruto will be like "WHAT HAPPEND". Then someone will tell the sad story of how the Hokage made the ultimate sacrifice for the village. Tears and Ramen will flow like rivers.

In short 3 and 1/2 more eps.

Two more eps. My guess was episode 80 before I saw 78 and 78 covered 50% more than I thought it would. There are three chapters left of the manga and we just did three in 78. There's no way there are more than two eps left.

Also, from the preview we know that next ep will cover at least up to page 7 of chapter 137 (138 being the last of the arc), and they never show the last scene in the preview so they'll probably do more than that. The next place that would make a good ending is the end of 137.

I would almost have thought one more ep, if it weren't for the fact that it's more talking in the last three chapters than the ones that were in 78. My guess is that the funeral will start off an episode so they'll probably make it two episodes and fill it in with some fighting.

All in all, I think it got really dificult to guess after they did so much in ep 78.

Episode 80 should have the funeral (atleast, i hope so).

On another note, since I said above there's more talking in 136-138 (the last chapters of the arc) than in 133-135 (the chapters of 78) I counted the number of words spoken in the chapters and found out I was wrong.

133-135: 1344
136-138: 1156

So I guess it's not entirely impossible that they end the arc in the next episode. I find it hard to see how they could stretch that over two episodes. They can't use anything from 139+ since...
the first pages have Itachi and Kisami looking out over Konoha, and there's no way they'd introduce them in the same episode that the current arc ends

Oh well... probably two, but if we're really lucky it's all packed into one ep.

Well, 78 had new intro and outro, so I guess it's sort of a new arc now. But that is just officially. The Gaara vs Naruto-fight seems to be over in the next episode, so I'd guess the "real" new arc starts with episode 80, and atleast not later than 81.
But that's my guess, don't listen to newbs like me. I'm sure I've forgot something from the manga that would stretch it out to episode 90 or something :heh:

The whole thing will end in 2 more eps with the funeral starting at 81. For some reason the makers of naruto like to go by tens or even numbers. So ending it at 80 is the most obvious choice being how they end the next 2 chapters are fitting for an ep themselfs. Then have 81 being the memorial and the introduction of itachi and company sitting next to them watching at the ramen shop.
