The majority of anime adaptations news comes from LN stuff, and I don't know why they adapt it so much due to fans' rage like "I grow tired of incest romcoms" or "What the hell Japan don't stop making such LN adaptations !?".

Think of Ai Kayano or Aki Toyosaki voicing Akiko. Or Eri Kitamura and Yoshino Nanjou. :D
Well, I like the light novel series of these two siblings, and I want to see more anime based in LN.
Then again, 2012 is giving me so many gifts: Oreimo 2dn season, Monogatari series will be adapted to anime, Oreimo 2 for PSP, all the awesome anime this season, etc, etc.

I won't dismiss this out of hand, but it sort of depresses me that anime/manga/LN seems to offer so few good series about normal sibling relationships, yet endless ones with incest overtones.

I am in favour of Yoshino Nanjou (heh, heh, Oni gokko fandisc...:D)
Aki Toyosaki.....voice doesn't fit my image
Ai Kayano....to me, Ana fits her more.
Eri Kitamura......student council president.
And we need one for Gin. Maybe Kaori Ishihara (from Rinne)?

Not exactly a huge surprises anyway...the bigger surprise is the fact Nakaimo got animated first before this...(Same publisher, both imouto title, but this sells 2x better than Nakaimo...)
Won't comment too much since I never read this one, though...
As for who'll voiced the imouto, I'm going with Ayana Taketatsu (Running)
P.S. What's left in terms of LN I know...Hentai Ouji is I think getting animated (don't remember whether it's ever confirm), and the only other one from the top of my head is Mahouka Kouko no Rettosei...

I wouldn't count on Ayana-san because she has that "tsun" feel when it comes to Imouto characters, and Akiko (the lead Imouto character) isn't tsun at all. I could be wrong but that's just me.
I think Kana Ueda, Kanae Itou or Ai Nonaka are my best bets.

Kirino's one of her most famous roles but really she isn't limited to tsun characters at all.
The Plot Summary in the OP is kind of bare so here's the one from mangaupdates:
After being separated from each other for 6 years since the death of their parents, fraternal twins Akito Himonokouji (brother) and Akiko Himonokouji (sister) had finally reunited together again during the holidays thanks to some planning from Akito, despite objections from both of their adoption families. Being happy that Akito had fulfilled his promise to be with her again, Akiko confessed readily that she had incestuous love in Akito, and will not hesitate to do anything to win the love of Akito. Akito however does not harbor the same feeling for Akiko, and as a result has a headache with Akiko's actions. Despite all these, he still loves Akiko as a sister, and finds her adorable and cute, especially when he had not seen her since she was 10 years old.
I'm looking forward to it, seeing Akiko's antics animated should be a good laugh.
I wouldn't count on Ayana-san because she has that "tsun" feel when it comes to Imouto characters, and Akiko (the lead Imouto character) isn't tsun at all. I could be wrong but that's just me.
IMO...the only reason why I bring up Ayana is only b/c of the fact that she voiced the imouto that starts the floodgate (somewhat) of imouto LNs...
Someone brought up Hentai Ouji earlier, why couldn't they animate THAT?
Personally I think they're "saving" it as a "secret" weapon...

LNs these days, regardless of the themes, have insanely long titles. Don't ask me why, it's the current trend.
Marcus H.
2012-05-18, 22:58
^ Long titles for light novels are more often seen in slice-of-life novels, though. Fantasy or Sci-Fi light novels often have straight-to-the-point titles like Sword Art Online and High School DxD.
Personally, I think there was a LOT of imouto LNs before Oreimo became hot.
I'm not saying that they don't exist before Oreimo. But how many of them even sale over 10k or is well known? Alternatively, if you can even name a few...
On a side note, while this will be on my "to watch" list (So is Nakaimo), last I check the review of this series and Nakaimo on Amazon are not exactly the best...

Hmm... noticed its written by the same person who wrote Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun, admittedly one of my guilty pleasures when the anime aired. Looking at what little info is there on the web about it (unfortunately my Japanese friends didn't like it as they think its an Oreimo ripoff so no info from them), it doesn't seem like there's a childhood friend this time around though. :(
C'mon Suzuki-sensei, maybe make blonde girl the forgotten osananajimi? (after all there were 2 in Ninomiya-kun) Heck, I'd be happy if Imouto-san is merely just not blood-related lol :heh:

more detailed Synopsis
After the death of their parents, Akito Himenokouji and his younger twin sister Akiko were adopted by separate families. Six years later, they now live on their own, under the same roof.
Akiko makes no effort to hide her brother complex. She even goes as far as trying to convince her brother to make their first night together a memorable one, to no avail. Akito calmly rejects his sister's many advances and deems loving his blood-related sister impossible. However, Akiko is determined to prove that love can overcome any obstacle.

Ohsaka Ryota as the male lead is good. He's superb in Tsuritama.
Bah, I wanted Ryota Ohsaka to get more roles, but not ones like this. Ah well, I'll try it just because he's in it, I guess. The author wrote Goshuuhousama Ninomiya-kun, which I did like so maybe it'll be good.
This is also Silver Link's first anime in a while without Shin Oonuma as director, but instead Keiichiro Kawaguchi (Nyankoi, Sket Dance, Zettai Karen Children, Mayo Chiki!). He's alright from what little I've seen, so there might be hope.

Studio: Silver Link
Staff:
Director: Keiichiro Kawaguchi (Mayo Chiki!)
Character Design: Kōsuke Kawamura (Mayo Chiki!)
Composition: Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Milky Holmes)
I really like Kawamura's character designs in both this and Feel's Mayo Chiki!, so this'll definitely look good. If the energy of Milky Holmes can be somewhat channeled by Fudeyasu then even better.

Yay, Kitamura! I also haven't seen Chihara in a while and it's always good to see an iM@S VA (who isn't Imai Asami :heh:) get roles. Shimoda is definitely underrated among the iM@S VAs as well. Even if she isn't my personal favorite, I'm glad it's her since she has a lot of talent.
So it's SILVER LINK .. their artworks are usually good so I guess it's fine .

It's probably because of the "lack of creativity" in thinking of a title for the series. Oreimo pretty much proved that adaptations of light novels with a long name and a story about the relationship between siblings can be successful, and I don't think it's farfetched to assume that "it's the same as Oreimo" given the lack of information.
But now that more details have been given, then the real interest begins to sprout.

I had finally watched the pv and I see darkness there (censorship)
well the pv is nice and I see no problem animation wise and is the music used in the pv op? it sounds nice too.
The music used on the PV is based on a ending theme.

Oh I like the blonde girl:love:, that pose with those legs, so haughty and full of love :heh:
I actually like the other girls too, pantyhose-chan and eyepatch girl, I... hope she's not German :heh: no I don't have a thing against girls from my country, but why is it that German girls gotta have an eyepatch, that always made me laugh :heh:
By the way, have you folks played the puzzle game at the main site (http://www.oniai.com/special/game/stage01/index.html)? Honestly I've never beaten such a game, in fact this is the first time I did :heh: Sure took me awhile, to the point it drained my [wireless] mouse battery :heh:
You only get a wallpaper, and if you folks don't feel too mind boggled, get it here (http://www.oniai.com/special/game/stage01/next_stage/index.html) :D (still, play the game. It's rather fun :heh:)
I did finish it in 1:27 minutes!!!
Pretty easy btw. What kind of technology allows you to finish such a thing in a short time? :D
I want now another puzzle with the other girls. At least that was more funny than get the thing for free XD

1:27 minutes :heh: It took me almost 15 minutes, if they hadn't put a template behind the puzzle to show you where goes what, I would have thrown my mouse at my screen :heh: It wasn't until the final minutes did I realize these games need you to turn the images around in a certain order :D
But yeah I want another puzzle. In fact I think there should be puzzle games like this on Android, hmmm.... :heh:
I only started with borders, then the "second layer" of images after borders, and so.
It's easier to move a block of images in a sequence in order to move one, so the order gets the same as before.
Don't know if there is another way, since I haven't played a game like this since "The Simpsons" in a SNES console :heh:

Aha, when I finished the puzzle I worked from the bottom right corner to the top left, rotating pieces into place. That was after I had to shuffle the game because I moved everything from the right to the left :heh: (I think that game shuffled me to a higher difficulty :eyespin:).
And, since the puzzle was based on her pose in the picture I posted above, I can't wait for the blonde girl, if she's in that pose, ah I want that wallpaper :D
Don't forget about the red-haired kaichou and Ginbei :D

I heard in a certain site that the show is packed with potential, so I'll most likely watch it since it shares some staff members from Mayo Chiki!. The whole "imouto pursuing her love for her brother with her unhidden brother complex, but her romantic ideas were constantly rejected by the MC" looked pretty refreshing after a obnoxious amount of generic imouto romances taking its place. I thought the MC is likeable based on what I've read the manga, and I'm looking forward to see the execution on how OniAi stands out many tired imouto romances. I'll give it a shot.

To be honest, this is a standard story, but somehow interesting since the characters are quite rare :heh:
The LN focuses in dialogs, so there isn't much progress in the plot, and sometimes it gets a little boring. But despite that, is a good thing to see.
As I said, I think the anime will focuses in the fan service, so I'm rather pleased with that.

I'm also hoping for the characters' interactions to be interesting and making the comedy amusing for me ! Time to watch it in one month !

One strength of the LN series is the word play and the comedy, so rest assured.
Also, the interactions between the Students Council is quite hilarious, and the MC is not a Mahiro-san :nono:

No, he isn't XD
He is the Machiavelli type, uses everything he has in order to accomplish his goals, and he's skillful with his speech, and pretty smart.
Well, he's not the dense type as Ichika, neither hates when others are enjoying themselves.
The thing about it is that the girls are oddballs, so he can't help but stop their actions :heh:

No one can be compared to Araragi :heh:
But, let see: he has some secrets, a questionable hidden job, it's the one doing tsukomi while the girls play the rol of boke, he's pretty smart and is willing to do the needed in order to accomplish his goals.
Also, a bit dense, and sometimes he just feigns ignorance. Also, he's just plain, but the whole SC felt for him

different, too much different :uhoh: the guy is a siscon while commander Araragi is a lolicon to the bone marrow and every cell of his body screams when he sis Hachikuji. While Akito can remain calm and Manipulative on his little sister though I don't like her sister..... seriously spells trouble.

Can't guarantee you'll like it too much then. :heh: Though Akito's buzzkill act hides a lot of his own feelings and motivations which even other characters ended up calling him out on.
And he shouldn't be nearly as extreme as that pussy Mahiro, who single-handedly made an otherwise really fun series a total bitch to watch (his being voiced by a female VA who made him sound like an exhausted, hoarse woman didn't help). It was kind of an extreme case really.

The story is good and the characters are likable so at least give a try. Like the 3 episode rule which others implemented. Though if you don't like annoying and characters that can't take a hint that they are over reacting then you might get annoyed a bit.

Mahiro from Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, strangely voiced by Eri Kitamura of all people...the last person I'd ever thought would voice a boy. And yeah, he WAS annoying w/ those forks..

Who are you talking about?
Sorry, sorry. I was talking about the main character of the series webkid94 mentioned. IIRC Kaisos really didn't like that guy, who was a total buzzkill the whole time (I did watch the series and finished it on the strength of Nyaruko's hilarious insanity), and he's worried the MC here would be similar.
I think Akito is different though. As Syokool said, he's a smart boy who likes to feign denseness and keep his secrets close, though he still has to do a lot of the tsukkomi since the girls, particularly everybody's favorite brocon sister (we're all here for her), are bonkers.
Kaisos Erranon
2012-09-13, 15:13
The only time I liked Mahiro was when Nyaruko was in his body.
That aside, I do wonder if the main guy in OniiAi's "feigned denseness" will come across in the anime at all. Those kind of things usually don't, in anime adaptations.

Mahiro from Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, strangely voiced by Eri Kitamura of all people...the last person I'd ever thought would voice a boy. And yeah, he WAS annoying w/ those forks..
Only because he had a disguised (not to mention perverted) Eldritch Abomination clinging to him like glue and trying her damned hardest to get him to 'do her. Telling her to stop it didn't help (only made her more determined), so he resorted to said forks for self-defense. It might have been a bit crude, but it was damn effective nonetheless.
And I liked Eri Kitamura's role as Mahiro, but to each his own, I guess.
As for this show, that second PV looked mighty interesting, so all the more reasons for me to keep a eye on the show.

The sister is played by a newbie not yet 15 years old, Kido Ibuki (http://horipro.co.jp/talent/PF146/). Considering some of the lines she will have, that's a little uncomfortable...or something. And she also sings the ED (with Chihara Minori, Shimoda Asami, and KitaEri), so she probably has something going for her.

Any information about how many volumes will be covered in anime?
Any information about how many volumes will be covered in anime?
Let's see...
Volume 2 introduces Jinno
Volume 3 Cliffhanger
Volume 4 introduces Arisa
Going by the characters, I'd say they will animate up to volume 6 (maybe).
Also, they can add some extra stuff, but at least the anime will have to cover volumes 1-5.
As I said, I want it to be full of ecchi and fap fan service, because it will be so boring if you only watch the conversations :heh:

I wouldn't say it has minimum plot, but the pace of that plot is really slow.
If you have read the LN, you can say it has a lot room for development, but the conversations take the most of the "time" and pages. Which makes it worse is that u can get bored because there are a lot of things you want to know, but the novel repeats itself with the same material (same jks).

After six years of separation due to the death of their parents, Akito and his sister Akiko Himenokouji reunited. However, Akiko developped a strong brother complex, which leads her brother rejecting her petty ideas. As they moved to a new mansion, three female members of the Student Council (which is consisted of Anastasia, Ginbei and Arashi) lives in the same house, which leads to many ridiculous situations and love is complicated even though Akiko is able to overcome her obstacles. While the show was dialogue-heavy, I found the fanservice to be tasteful and the scenery was eye-grabbing. As expected from the Mayo Chiki!'s staff, the visuals are stunningly eye-grabbing, and I found the jokes to be okay. While it wasn't particularly a masterpiece, I found OniAi to be one of the most interestingly good harems of the season.
And so, with SKET DANCE finished, Keiichiro Kawaguchi's talents are freely available for other series. Like this one. He's usually really good with visual gags, so having him helm a dialogue-heavy comedy series like this one will be an interesting experiment. It's not Monogatari-level dialogue heavy (then again, very little is), but the degree of verbal wit being thrown around exceeded what I was expecting. The cinematography of the series is really nice - the opening montage with Akiko seeking out her destination was well done, and there's a lot of interesting musi choices on display here.
Akiko's a lot of fun to watch, and the rest of the student council, though getting minimal screentime compared to her, made a pretty good first impression. Arashi, doing Agata's "ka-ka-ka" laugh got my attention. It was probably in the source material, but I can't help but to draw the connection. Good composition can make even something seen before unique, and such is the case here. It further proves why Kawaguchi is my favorite director, and the idea of a dialogue-heavy series is appealing to the wordsmith in me.
The opening's got a really nice beat to it.

Ah well, it was boring, to quite the level. It was boring for the first half, but then the rest of the characters appeared, and I almost wanted to fall back in my chair and fall with it to the ground. Then it was boring on a different dimension.
And on top of that, the voice actor of the main heroine especially was... pretty lacking.

As I, and other people said, it hasn't a strong plot nor a good material for an adaptation since it comes from a LN based in conversations.
I suggest you watch the first ep. and if you don't like then stop. The first ep. will say u how it will be in the whole season.
As I, and other people said, it hasn't a strong plot nor a good material for an adaptation since it comes from a LN based in conversations.
Again, doesn't that describe the Monogatari series? The only difference is the nature of the conversations.
Well, Monogatari inludes a lot of events, and even has time skips and jumps.
This one not so it can be pretty boring if u don't like tsukkomis. The thing is this series has a horrible pace (almost two months covered in 3 vols.).
That can make it boring even to read.
Well, it's not as u can compare NisioisiN with Suzuki sensei. Their styles are a lot different :heh:
Again, doesn't that describe the Monogatari series? The only difference is the nature of the conversations.
Monogatari was boring sometimes with the long monologues, if you didn't pay attention or didn't know all the gimmicks behind their speeches you lost most of the meaning. Not to mention that anime was heavily riding on the ecchi aspect (especialy second season and all naked shoots or toothbrush scenes, though I left monogatari or what was called that season after 1 part of bee sisters ep)
I remember wanting to read this novel or at least seeing it sometime somewhere (most likely BT).
Wish there was subbed ep, considering that the better series get around 1-5 groups translating them.

I kinda expected that; the last three shows I've seen from Silver Link all have rather misleading first episodes, before turning everything around in the following episodes. C3 had that, Tasogare Otome was somewhat like that, and Kokoro Connect was definitely like that.

If there's one thing I like so far is how united the other three girls are at stonewalling Akiko :heh: Also, unlike other harem shows where girls are one by one 'recruited' into the team and had to be trained from scratch, this one presented us with a fully functioning harem where everyone already knows the drill and procedures :heh:
THERE ARE NO SECRETS IN THIS HOUSE.
LOL i grateful that MC of this series is not just a dull or weak guy. Whenever cliche scenes happen you usually think "Oh, it's gonna be like this", but Akito is capable of changing the flow with something completely different, like when Akiko convinced him with her brocon fetish, he completely ignored her and counter her statements with his snarky comments, and Akiko just got tricked into his wordplays.

I like Akiko's character design and her eagerness is appealing. Glad to see that Akito has a brain for once. I'm anticipating some zany antics as the girls compete in future episodes.

I'm enjoying this show much more than a sane person probably should, watched EP1 2 times already and probably gonna watch it a few more before the next episode. I just can't get enough of Akiko.. that design, and especially that voice, goddamnit
Why are they parents ALWAYS killed in stories like these?
It's been common trope in most harem anime nowadays. Parents died, went overseas, or the protagonist lives separated from them. It's because harem genre works perfectly when The MC have no parental supervision at the moment.

well that may be the case but in some harem genre when the parents are away and come back to see that their kid has a harem they usually accept it like nothing (i.e to love ru) or in like in hsdxd the parents really dont care how many chicks he has which i think is awsome.

I don't know. It kinda felt like the pacing was weird and the jokes fell flat compared to Keiichiro Kawaguchi's other TV series. I'm no staff expert (Midonin is the only reason I knew this was Kawaguchi in the first place), but I like this first episode the least of the shows I've seen from Kawaguchi. This show is just so comparatively low-energy, and the energy was what I liked about the other Kawaguchi shows...
Well, I had few expectations going in, and all those expectations were answered well. Now to watch for more Akiko, Ginbei, and Ana(l). <--(that was a horrible joke.)

I thought the art style looked very familiar. Interesting to see the artists of Mayo Chiki in this project. I love how this show immediately cut to the chase straight to the harem sequence where everyone is apparently in the student council and are obviously fighting for Akiko's love right in front of him, and he accepts it as though it was a normal thing that occurs in the house/dorm. This should be fun to see.
Just finished the episode and like the novels I'm definitely following this. A boy living in a dorm with a few girls (sister included) nothing new, but oh well in harems don't change what works.

Akiko's design and looks reminded me of Kanade plus she has some of the vibes of said character from other series.

Don't know about the source material, but I enjoyed this first episode.
The sister's voice and lines are very clear and fun to listen to, and the bantar between all the girls at the end was entertaining.
Looks like a good light-hearted show for this season.
That blond girl voice actress use totally same voice as horizon from horizon.
Not like I'm complaining or anything but when you watch to much stuff (even though you avoid VA names just so you won't know who did what), it just hard when you imagine other character while looking at someone.
Story seems quite funny and light. Might follow it for *not engaging* fluff anime of the season. That is if it won't flop in future eps.

It kinda makes sense if you think about it, this is all mostly from Akiko's pov.
Before she realized it, her onii-chan already has a fully functioning harem before the main heroine has ever entered the scene!
Kind of disappointed that they threw in the girls moving in from the first episode, that didn't happen until over a month after the siblings had gotten back together in the novels. I hope that won't mean we're going to have drastically reduced sibling together time, those were my favorite parts.
so question, will the next episode be going back to the period before those 3 move in or will it continue from now on?

Hopefully. Otherwise this anime would end up like Campione, where all kind of random things got thrown into the fray without proper explanations.

I will readily confess that I mostly watched this show so that I could feel justified in lambasting it. Having said that, I will give props to the two siblings for at least bringing something a little different to this tired dynamic. Akito is witty and playful, while Akiko's displays no interest whatsoever in hiding her intentions. Between the two of them there's a legitimately funny repartee. So color me impressed for that, if nothing else. The second half of the episode, however, felt about 6 hours long.
A wild harem appears... It's not very effective.

I have to say this is about as blatant as it gets. The girls are not holding anything back here. No one is pretending they aren't after this guy. Kind of feel bad for Akiko since no one is on her side here :heh:. I'm not really, but it's just kind of funny to see her struggling on her own here.
Been a while since I saw a harem that was this direct. Of course just means the guy is going to have to be pretty cautious since otherwise the show wouldn't be clear for tv :heh:. Doing a good job trying to dodge the girls so far and being pretty witty when he has a chance to.

Hmm, it was O.K., but not overly wow for me. I mean, Green eyes was the most normal out of all of them^^;;. Blondie was like, ok I get it you're a sadist, join the clud Larxene-v-. And for the red head, hey look, Kamina and Yoko from Gurren Lagann DID have a child, and she has an eyepatch, sweet, outside of that, meh. The little sis, glad to see a female perv after that debacle of Dakara H, but it still doesn't sell me. The animation though, as expected from the Mayo Chiki people, very well made :). Overall, I'll take a few more views of this show, just for the chuckles.

I like the original Light Novel and enjoyed the first episode, but does anyone else feel like the deliveries of the joke are a little off? I cannot really put my hand on what or why. Maybe the punch lines are presented a little too early or too late or without enough impact.

The lead girl, however.... Great voice. I can see why they gave a 14-year-old (KITO Ibuki (http://horipro.co.jp/talent/PF146/)) her own show so soon. I'm not sure about her acting, but her voice is a wonderful instrument. We're going to hear a lot of her in coming years.

And that's a bad thing?
I personally don't care how heavy the ecchi factor is, as long as the show amuses me. I expect it to get much 'worse' than this, but we'll have to wait and see, I guess...
And that's a bad thing?
It depends on how it's done. Half-assed ecchi just annoys me. But if an anime chooses to be mild on the ecchi, then make the innuendo very interesting. It's just my taste. :)

Did I skip an episode in between the halves... that it seemed that her Oniichan had an "instant" harem going on already....?
Now, she really admits of being a BroCom.... even a perverted brother would be shocked hearing those words coming straight from her mouth...:heh:
Nope, but I think I know why this ep. was like this.
Honestly, I want to see more things than in the novel, and some other stuff from... Sakigake! or so :heh:
Voices are well, though I never think in Akiko's voice that much.
Akito is older in the illustrations, so I find him a lot younger in the anime.

Agreed about the voice.
I was pretty impressed by it and searched who the voice actor was, and surprised it seems to be a newcomer to the industry. Didn't know she was only 14.
Been noticing a lot of debut voice actors in the last year.
Does anyone else feel compelled to stare at the little sisters super tight “U” smile when ever it appears on screen? I just can’t look away from the hypno smile
On an unrelated note, i wonder why incest harem romcoms tend to have incredibly unnecessarily long names (KissXSis doesn’t count since they're not blood related siblings in the first place, but it's still shit anyway)
-Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai
-Oniichan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne—!!
-Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne!
-Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru!
Incest harem romcoms feel like regular romcoms except with the goal and endgame being incest and/or the main girl being the MC’s blood related sister. Those Japanese people sure have a thing with Incest romcom.

well my input on this anime is that its very interesting the whole harem is right off the bat and we all know they'll be fighting all the time which is always fun to watch but the only part i dont like is the whole sister and brother incest thing but i heard she's not the real sister but idk honestly this is one of the ones imma watch through to the end just to see the outcome

Well, that certainly was different. The girl is the one who has incestuous feelings, is proud of that very fact, does crazy things to try and make it happen, and the guy is the one who rebukes it? Certainly entertaining, thanks in big part to the imouto's seiyuu. She really sells all the misunderstandings caused by the brocon mindset, and the humour naturally comes after.
It's not gonna be the best series of the season, but at least it has more appeal than your typical harem anime.
On an unrelated note, i wonder why incest harem romcoms tend to have incredibly unnecessarily long names
Nah, it's just the current trend in LN titling, as from what I hear Japanese LN readers love to know the general idea about the novel just from the title.
That's why you have stuff like "Baka to Test to Shokanjuu", "Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai", and "Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru" (yeah I already can tell that the childhood friend loses in the last one for example :heh:). Kinda of like how a lot of movies in the 80's followed the "X no Y no Z" titling after the success of Nausicaa (Kaze no Tani no Nausicaa) in the JP box office, though I can't remember the LN that started the trend (I blame its long name ;)).

Wasn't a fan of this first episode. It only had one joke: the sister complaining about what the brother should have done to her and him just reacting with a deadpan expression. That one joke was the entire episode! And the other girls contributed little because they just did the same joke as well, only without the sister connotations. You can't run an entire episode, or series, on one unfunny joke.
I think that the subbers are at fault there... ^^;;;
Not really a good opener since they skipped quite a lot!!! Hopefully, by next episode they'll show us how they met...
You have a point, though I don't think that's fully explain my reaction. I do hope this will fade away. It's like swinging a pendulum slightly off the resonace frequency. A joke is getting really good but they made the tsukomi a little too fast or too late and lessen the impact.

I've read somewhere a while back about the longest light novels titles, and I think the general theme among them is not imouto but seitokaichou.
Hmm, my opinion about first episode of this anime adaptation:
The animation is good.
The voice actors are good.
The dialogues are being very loyal to the original.
Why in the hell don’t they have more faith in themselves?
They shouldn’t have skipped parts of the novel, it starts a little slow (if you are not into incest and you are more into the harem parts) but it starts getting better and better as the story progresses.
They easily got rid of a couple of twists and from now on everything is going to be flasbacks unless they decide to spoil things further ahead before explaining what the hell happened in the first place.

Was here for wincest action. Not happy that they rushed all the other girls in without even a proper introduction and cut short the sweet "alone" time the twins had before the harem got going.
Ehhhhhhhhhh. Go away, leave the twins alone I say.
Though Akiko's VA is a pleasant surprise.

Akiko's seiyuu was pretty impressive in this one - the first major character she's had to portray, and has done enough to impress me. (She's only 14?! wat :heh:)
The other characters were introduced like a whirlwind, but I was more fixated on their dialogues so it didn't really dawn on me until I finished watching it. I guess the pacing could use more work but it's a pretty nice start and the premise will lead to plenty of wacky antics in the future.

Yeah, it was really weird how it when from brocon and wincest comedy to a full fledged harem one without any sort of explaination or knowledge of how they're there minus the other girls interest in the main character, much to the sister's chagrin.
I wonder if it'll be explained in the next episode or two during flashbacks why the other girls are there, considering that it felt forced and awkward that they went that route more sooner without any sort of build up into it.

I don't expect anything, so it's fine. This series is more a filler than a new or promotional series. Keep in mind this isn't the best season for anime. It is in May-April IIRC.
Erm no, Fall season is where everybody puts on their A-game faces and brings out their best shows, arguably more so than Spring season :heh:
Though compared to last year's Fall, this one does lack a lot of the Big attention grabbing names imo...
Hmm, maybe I was confused all this time, and now u say that, Comiket is coming soon also.
In another note, Japanese perception is almost the same as here, and other parts of the world.
Funny thing finding there is no a general predilection about the girls.
Well, the way anime is going on sems to not be an adaptation but a complement for the LN series, so it's good (to me).

“Ok, this is funny… wait. Who are these people? Why did we just skip a WHOLE MONTH?”
Brain-dead anime needs to be more brain-dead. Stop trying to be clever, just be funny. No need for time skips in the first episode. -_-
Hrm ... well ... the premise seemed kinda "standard" for me (for this kinda angle/concept, etc.), but somehow there was nothing "new" or "fresh" about it that jumped out at me to make me interested - to be fair these kind of shows are not my cup of tea anyway, but hey - you never know when something will surprise you.
So - dropped for now.

It's just first episode, and its main purpose just to get attentions from viewers. It's true that rushing straight to the main plot feels too painful to watch, but i suggest you to at least watch it until 3 episodes (I'm a LN reader, so you can hold my words) before you put a judgement about whether a series is total crap or masterpiece.
maybe i'm expecting too much, but wouldn't it be hilarious that those 3 move in not for Akito's body, but for the opportunity to tease Akiko whenever they could?
"oh she is so obsess with her brother, let's join the party and poke fun at her 24/7 by pretending that we are into him as well"
or maybe it's just another one of your usual harem set up :P
Just watched it, and all I can say that they just didn't bother being subtle with the opening. Which is really an understatement, I mean like holly sht.

After being dumped by Akiko for rejecting her incestuous ideas, Akito have to deal a conversation towards the three student council members and explain why they come to recruit him in the first place. However, Akiko see these members as foes, which creates some lustful jealousy over Akito. The second episode is just as funnily good as the first episode, which is full of comedy and fanservice. Despite the slow pacing, the okay jokes get a bit better. The opening theme is one of the sexiest theme songs I've seen due to its tastefully gratuitous content imitating H-animes, but I quite loved it. The ending theme looks nice too, and it seems the character development will slowly builds up. Akito appears to be a somewhat average guy as always, but his quotes seem logical for an teenager like him, while Akiko continues to chase after him even though her personal ideas about love keep getting rejected, but is able to overcome these obstacles. Hopefully, Akiko should be able to literally defeat the student council members and see if it succeeds depending on how Akito see them.
While the opening's visual innuendo is abundantly clear, I still love the song. Musically, it's one of the most enjoyable songs of the season. Minori Chihara's voice, and the song's upbeat melody attract me, in rather the same way as WORKING!!'s openings did. The conversations between the twins are a lot of fun to watch, but the most fun was Ana. Her deadpan readings get the most laughs out of me. The atmosphere still feels kind of like a stage play, but it's not bad. It's in that area where it's able to be dirty without including a lot of explicit fanservice (except in opening). Just hearing VAs saying dirty things can be entertaining itself.
The ending dance is really simple (as in, it's just one motion), but the ED's cute. I'm also liking the naming pattern this series has going on. Something about overly long titles always amuses me.

Incidentally, 高畑 (Takabata) does also exist and is located in Nakagawa-ku, Nagoya, Aichi prefecture:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takabata_Station
That's a few hundred kilometres to the west of Tokyo. You'd need to take the Shinkansen to get there.
Ikebukuro is spelled 池袋 - there's no place spelled 池梟 (although the reading is the same).
Ikebukuro is a neighbourhood in Toshima, Tokyo:

original: 目城 (eye-castle)
correct: 目白 (eye white)
Mejiro train station:

The names for the various train lines were all written using the wrong kanji (pronunciation is the same).
original: 東海同線 ("Same Eastern Sea"-Line)
correct: 東海道線 ("Eastern Sea Highway"-Line)
東海道 is romanised "Toukaidou" or "Tōkaidō".

edit:
I've now fully TSed my version, with all wrong kanji fixed :D
They really should hire me to fix their embarrassing mistakes.
http://t.imgbox.com/acgsBqk9.jpg (http://imgbox.com/acgsBqk9) I can't believe you went through all that work and totally failed to realize the most obvious point: the place names were parodying actual place names! These aren't mistakes, it's deliberate! :heh: Some of the parodied names were pretty obvious jokes too (like the "Maru" joke). I really can't believe you tried to call that out as a mistake. :heh:

Erm, I think it's not use to try to portray language jokes if your spectators (actually people whom don't speak Eng. or Jap.) don't have a little knowledge in Japanese.
This series is full of jokes, and anime will make a good use of them as ep. 1 & 2.
IIRC this parodying is present only in the anime. Sadly, it's not easy to add T/N to an episode like a manga or LN.
Haven't seen the licensed ep, but I'm curious how will do they with some "particularities" of this show.

Suuure, if someone does mess up, it's suddenly: "Hey, it's not a mess-up, it was meant to be that way - it's a parody!"
Reminds me of Windows: "Hey, it's not a bug, it's a feature! It was meant to be that way!" XD
But hey, if it makes you happy, believe in your little "parody", which wasn't there in the source material.
This isn't a parody. It's not even funny (other than most other things in the episode). It just makes whoever did that look really, really stupid.
As such, I'll continue to fix this stupidity.

Easily the best OP of the season so far <3
Episode was quite awesome overall, loved the whole tsundere thing and lots of delicious akiko ass shots. Seriously my favorite show so far, the 15 year old seiyu is probably also part of the reason.

Lovely. Hope they didn't forget condoms :D
Man, why the camera guy was so ecchi? It seems he had nothing to do but keep shooting at Akiko's ass. I also kinda feel bad for Akiko since she was being butt of all of the jokes from other girls all the time.

A lot of anime tend to intentionally change the name of real life places and restaurants to avoid copyrights or just because. It's very possible.
I'm sure you've heard of all the McDonalds variants, like MaskDonalds or WcDonald's, or all the Windows (Mindows) and Google variants.

But...the main audience IS japanese people, people who speak the language, understand the language, etc. So why wouldn't it be appropriate to have these jokes?

I get the first one as an innuendo. But I fail to try to figure out explanations for the two after it. What would the blonde be doing that gives off that image.
The second picture is impossible for what we normal think it would be.... Looking at the angle... the girls head is more than 12 inches from the guys pelvic area... I will be surprise if that thing was that long for the girl to reach in!!! She needs to be more closer for that scene to be valid as an perverted scene. I suspect she is jut sucking on an ice bar and is actually coincidentally hiding under the MC's desk. She's not between his thighs but beside him.. probable a foot away..:heh:
Third picture.... Hmm... the girl is imaging it... see the guy... he looks unconscious... and is unaware that something was above him...:heh:

So? Animes add their own little things all the time.

Parodies don't have to be funny, they're meant to reference things.
As Shadow5YA said, parodies of McDonald and various other brands have had their names changed to avoid copyrights or just because, this is no different.
And you're not 'fixing' anything btw -_-

You're not even suppose to have access to this if you're not Japanese so what are you talking about -_- ?
people need to stop a looping gif as the real thing :D
that being said, holy *** that OP just went all out. However that ED is quite lazy, and I hope they update it in the future episodes

You know generally, if EVERY SINGLE place name uses an ateji for a location name instead of the actual kanji, it's probably intentional and not an accident. Absolutely hilarious that you harp on people for not learning Japanese, but the fact that you are unable to read between the lines shows an utter lack of ability to grasp the language.
Might not be a parody, maybe they want to avoid any sort of liability, who knows. Arguing that it isn't in a parody because it's not source material is ridiculous, the anime isn't even following the source material. It's completely reorganized the time line while picking and choosing events that want from the novel.

Maybe I wasn't too clear. What I meant is it's not use to change those things (like correct the AVIO in laptops to VAIO), since it has sense only if u know Jap.
Well, I don't think it's a big issue, so whaterever is fine.
.....
Opening was kind of NSFW, but I will make one of those gifs my next signature :)

The main audience for this are the Japanese watchers -_- They generally don't make Animes for non-Japanese speakers you know, especially these kinds.

I know it's stupid, but the sister's whole "Your indifference only arouses me further!" personality is just so damn funny. :heh:
