Naruto Opening/Ending Discussion

Yeah, i thought it was.... okay. I feel like once i've gotten used to one and begin to enjoy it( bobbing my head to the song and such... XD ) they smack a new one in my face and i'm half sad and half happy and exited... hahah... yeah, i dunno.... how do you guys feel? Am i the only one that feels this way?? ^_^;;

I'll most likely begin to like the new one too though... =D

I loved the opening.! It's just really cool and fun to watch.....and the part when the girl (who is that btw?) is sitting on the background of the screen, and Jiraiya walks by, stops to stare and naruto stumbles behind him *kicks* ...it's priceless!

I wasn't too crazy about the ending though...It's alright I guess but they looked kinda dumb and purposeless just standing there in a line, staring at nothing in particular..

The opening has good animation at least which made me like it. The girl jiraiya stares at is kurenai, team 8's teacher. The ending is kinda dumb like Priestess Kikyo said. Why they are standing in a straight line staring at the sun is kinda weird. They should've used the hokage monument in this ending instead of the sun.
Is it me or in the OP they are "ghetto fighter"?

I like the new opening, it's pretty good. :cool: I like the animation and all, it's pretty different, i like it. The song doesn't hit me as amazing, but i'll just have to get used to it like the last one. The sad thing is, now i have to learn the words to another song and sing along to it every week!

The ending i was kinda bummed about, it is pretty stupid, but i think the last one was the worst, i mean Naruto standing there, as the camera zooms in, :eyebrow: that was gay, but this one doesn't do much better. the song is better at least...

Hmmm, I wonder why they showed Mr. Sharky's silhouette (that's what I call him) during the "Naruto" title (that's definitely him because of the hair style and his huge wrapped-up sword)...it's not like he actually held any significance in the manga storyline other than being Itachi's partner. Itachi's face/eyes follows that shot but it still seems out of placed to me to have him during the title display.

What about the silhouettes after Naruto kicked Jiraya? Here are my guesses:
Sasuke and Sakura: Sasuke and Sakura; the short spikey one is Sasuke and the long hair belongs to Sakura...they are the only ones who make sense to be in that scene.
Kurenai, Gai, and Asuma: Neji and TenTen; this set I'm fairly certain because of Neji's hair and TenTen's bao-bao (the two stuffs on her hair).
Naruto and Kakashi: Orochimaru and Kabuto (very obvious) followed by Mr. Sharky and Itachi

oh yea, it's one of those songs you get used to. Like Haruka Hanata...such a good song! When I first heard PMK's op song I thought it was just "noise" but then, eventually I somehow started to like it more and more...Now I can't stop listening to it :) :help:

I'm not the biggest fan of the new intro, I'd have to say I liked the 2nd one more, and the 1st ending theme will always be the best. It just wouldnt fit to have it anymore. Too bad. :sad:

The same goes for several anime songs that I initially didn't like very much, so I generally reserve judgement until I've listened to it a few episodes later. There are always those rare cases that I knew right away I loved/hated the new op/ed no matter how many times I hear it, but it's always be better to give those other new op/ed a grace period before the bashin' and hatin' and whinin' begin. :heh:

To begin, i will say that the previous theme song is not so good and i have been waiting for a change for a long time. The new theme song sounds better, the images are also better. HOWEVER, if you notice carefully, all the characters are still and lifeless(like in manga). only the images are moving (flash trick). Sighs.

the new opening is a real blast! I think its the type of song people will grow to like it as they listen to it a few times. Well, this is much better than songs which u like it at first and grow to get sick of it.
The animation for the opening theme is very fabulous! I suppose its because i get to see what is to come for the anime. I like this part especially whereby Jiraiya was looking at Kurenai in a pervert way, Naruto and Sasuke was with this -_-; expression but Kakashi was smiling ^_^;. Its so cute!
The last animation i've liked was the 3rd ending theme which i believed its called Viva Rock by Orange Range. It was soo kawaii!

The ending theme was so-so for me. It's actually a little bit boring... But the song is quite nice. ^^ (maybe i will grow to like it if i listen to it a few more times) :heh:

Hmm, upon closer inspection, you are correct that there were three people; I just assumed the lower right one was originally the left one running faster. For the second set, my eyes deceived me...could the two be 1st and 2nd instead? The only male in Naruto I know of that have that kind of hair style is the Hyuga family (primarily Neji) or the 1st Hokage.

i believe that the sillouettes in the 3 jounin scenes are zaku and kin. Kin's the only person with a ponytail like that with a bow at the end. The naruto kakashi scene is obvious. The sasuke and sakura sillouettes still baffle me.

That's the one where they are in their coats. The other major part is during the "Naruto" title--the silhouette of a guy swinging down a huge sword is Kisame, and the eyes that followed belonged to Itachi. The last one is where Kisame and Itachi's transparent silhouette (following Orochimaru and Kabuto's) appeared in front of Naruto and Kakashi's still.

Harmonia was kinda "stupid" in that purpose too (WHY were Sakura and Ino singing? WHY were they Chibi? Mysterious indeed....), but I liked that ED too, and I like Ima Made Nando Mo even more, both song and animations, even if it may seem purposeless. I get too see all my favorite characters, well drawn with nice light and shadow effects, looking cool in general. That's more than enough for me as long as the song is good :heh:

The only bad thing about the OP/ED I can think of right now is this: Sasuke is still in his rather ugly jumpsuit! Which probably means that he will keep wearing it after the current "situation" and all is over (this arc will probably be pretty long, and if he wouldnt be wearing it thorough the arc, I dont think they would make him wear it in every scene in the OP/ED either. Maybe I'm the only one thinking that though....). Which is a terrible decision, since his original clothes were so much cooler.

I don't really like the new opening. Its all side scrolling. No panning, no zooming, no real interesting angles... it seemed more like a closing animation. It was ok but my least favorite so far... atleast it looks like they'll be going into the next arc.

All those were based on what I've seen from the anime and the manga...if you want to hear my reasoning, read on.

Again, spoilers:
Okay the eyes is not really a spoiler. Based solely from what we've been told and shown, there are currently only three people in world of Naruto who have Sharingan: Itachi, Kakashi, and Sasuke. We all know Kakashi has only one complete triple-dotted (for lack of a better term) Sharingan while Sasuke has two dobule-dotted Sharingan; that face showed a pair of triple-dotted Sharingans, so hey hey guess whom! Also, throughout the series we've seen Sasuke flashback to Itachi's profile (face), no? This second hint (more affirmative) is that Itachi has this wrinkle (?) slanted below his eyes...that's his distinctive facial trait. In that white-on-black shot, you could clearly see the two slanted wrinkles.

As for the transparent-silhouette, I claimed that was Itachi because it was follwed by Kisame's silhouette (which is VERY obvious because Kisame's outline is distinctive). The two work as pair as seen in their other two appearances in the opening (and later on in the story) so it's only fitting to assume that this cool-looking hair-floating guy must be Itachi. :)

2) pause the movie at the right moment
3) press PS
4) paste in paint
5) cut out the movie (if done carefully, size: 640X480 exactly!) and copy the bit
6) press [ctrl]+N and not save
7) paste again
8) save as JPG file
*9) continue watching movie for more pics :D

as for the new music. this is nice but Haruna Kakanata by Asian Kung Fu generation is still the best. Ending wise, i like wind by akeboshi and alive by raiko. the new ones cool too. heard the band's going to have an album coming up. back to haruna kakanata... the animation just fits the music so so so well. for me it is the best so far.

Haruka Kanata is great, yes (Asian Kung-Fu Generation rules my MP3-playlist right now in general. A really great band), but Go!!! is almost at the same level, both song and animation. The ending is just as great as Wind and Alive, which are both my favorite ED's so far. Wind and Ima Made Nando Mo (the new ED) are way superior to Alive when it comes to animation though.
Showing Lee, Neji, Sasuke, Naruto and Shikamaru (by 5 favorite Genins, no question about it) at the same time, all well drawn, is enough to create an OP/ED completely in my favor ^_^

I loved the new opening. So cheering, so fast-paced, it felt like Viva Rock ~Japanese Side~. It's in my opinion, the best opening so far, animation-wise. But the best song is still Haruka Kanata :D

Now, the ending sucks badly. The animation is good, but the song is horrible. Didn't like it at all.

PS. I watched it in "good quality" just today. I was waiting for ANBU-AonE's episode 78 :D

Well, I also like Harmonia. But for the opening, I like Go. It kinda gives me that All American Rejects/Blink 182-esque rock feel.

The openings I like are Rocks, Haruka Kanata and GO! They are all good, the only ending that I thought was pretty good though was Wind I though that was really good.

the first ending is still the best, harmonia was a skip straight through to see next weeks preview kind of affair. I really like both the new themes, esp. the panning around the Genins in the ending sequence, good match with video and music track methinks

ANd not to forget, the lyrics to both the new songs are great to, and fits really well with the new arc. Fight for your dreams, never give up, be yourself, etc. Very nice lyrics indeed (didn't really care until I saw ANBU-AonE's song-translations earlier today, so I guess I might be a little "after" :heh: )

the new opening is really good, even if the pictures chosen give it a little away for the guys who don't read the manga. Anbu&Aone karaoke is really great, it's not easy to sing a long, but it looks really good :) .

Yah, I remember when I saw that scene in the manga for the first time and thought OMG YEEEEEEEEEEEEEES W00T!!! because they came out of nowhere RIGHT after the end of such a major arc...
