Chidori's past? *minor spoiler*

From Full Metal Panic season 1, the photos show Chidori had a younger sister and parents. However, her background story is never told. Will her family's background story be revealed in season 3 then? I don't even know if her sister and parents are still alive or not. She also talks to her mom that is in the photo similar to Sousouke talking to his comrades that are also in a photo.

In the first? (second?) episode of the Behemoth storyline, she tells the young AS pilot that he's not the only one without a mother. Other than that, I think it's pretty sparse as to her past. I'm sure that there's quite a bit more explained in the manga and def. more in the novels. (I cant read japanese tho, so wah). I guess that from the end credits, we can assume that she was the single child of two fairly prominent and wealthy parents and was destined to go to the boarding school she goes to now (from the mascot doll in her baby photo). I guess we're supposed to assume (since she lives by herself in her own apt. and not in the dorms) that her parents died in the past due to some accident, but left her a large enough sum to live by herself, maybe under the loose guardianship of some distant relative. Btw, I haven't watched Fumoffu yet, so Idk what happens there.

From what I understand the anime is based on 2 novels that finish the story. S1&2 both were based on the first novel. So there is material for a S3. Will there be a Season 3? We can only hope :)
Look around the forum there is a lot of info about it...probably more accurate info too.

really.... rather strange postition, it is the study of distribution and abundance of life and the interactions between organisms and their environment.... i really don't see any relevancy with his position and her being a whispered... any reason why she is left behind?

It's probably more like the UN version of the EPA, where he handles permits for industrial development and such.

As for why she's a whispered, I'd thought it was established it was due to random chance, anyone who has a birthday on or around Dec 24 is automatically a candidate. There isn't any other unifying factor, since Tessa and Leonard's parents were a US naval officer and housewife, and Nami's were never mentioned.
