Any of the Marl's Kingdom games would be fun to watch (like Rhapsody or Disgaea), but the ultimate game to show conversion would have to be Genso Suikoden II. You could also do I and III, but II was the best one.

The thing about making anime series from fighting games is that the result usually ends up being something like Battle Arena Toshinden.

Amano Shiro did a pretty good job with the manga - draw the Disney characters in the style Disney uses (with a few exceptions... Alice got an eyejob, but is still recognizable) and the rest of the characters in his own style. It works surprisingly well.

Theres already an anime for Zone of the Enders, theres the movie Idolo, and the series Delores i, both were excellent. Unreal Tournament would be great, but there wouldn't be a good story to it. I would like to see one for Half Life, Doom, and Powerstone.

I would love to see a Suikoden series, I would want a 4 part series of all four games, with a SuikoGaiden OVA. I want to see the Lunar series get an anime, all 3 games. Most of all though Lunar: SSSC. I want a good Classic Rockman series, as well as X, Zero and DASH series. I would love to see Wild Arms 1 turn into an anime. I would love to see a Dynasty Warriors anime.

Metal Gear Solid - Maybe an OVA or movie, but I don't think they could manage a series out of this really. It would be hard to create a story of MGS standards that would last for 13-26 episodes. Also, many viewers may not care for the sneaking in place of action.

Resident Evil / Biohazard - Ever since I saw the opening animation of Hellsing I've thought this would work in an anime setting. Push the horror element enough and it would work. Plus since the live action movie series seems doomed an anime might be the route to go.

Halo (maybe) - As somebody else said Red vs Blue is the route to go for this. "Oh sweet! They sell tanks!"

Xenosaga - nope... Xenogears...

Ninja Gaiden - If they could make the series really old fashioned like the old NES games I'd certainly watch it. Just have the first ep end with Ryu getting shot in the back by a woman. Think every NES game, the first mission ended w/ some woman sneaking up on Ryu and shooting him...

Dead or Alive (probably ends up a hentai) - Very echhi probably...also probably the best chance out of all of these of making it into an anime...

Mortal Kombat - guh...no more...mortal kombat...

StarCraft - Would have to be done in the cg style like the cinematics between missions during the games. However, with a style like that it would probably look identical to the Starship Troopers series: "Roughnecks".

To the several people who mentioned City of Heroes, I refer you to either the Ragnarok anime series now airing, or to the official City of Heroes comic book. To sum up: they both suck, and so would a CoH anime.

The opening anime sequences in Suikoden III and Oni would definatley make a great shows. Just not the story from the game in Oni's case, maybe pick up after the game's end. I really love the animation in Suikoden III's opening tho.

It'll be about some kid who becomes old enough to become a Gunbound player. He meets a girl who teaches him about the game, and from their they meet a goofy Pirate, a mean and cocky Law enforcer guy...and some really good player who has that mean Vegeta attitude(the "You will never defeat me" kind of look)

That's what makes me wonder. Four or five different groups were doing Star Ocean EX when it aired, and that show was really bad, it doesn't make any sense that noone would sub a Suikoden anime.

Naruto, Initial D, Shaman King and Prince of Tennis all have multiple video games already. I don't think there's one available for Slam Dunk, and while I would find it amusing, it would just be a basic basketball game. It's one of the things I love about the series - there are no special tricks or super moves, it's all about playing good basketball.

Regardless, you have the purpose of the thread backwards. The question here is what games should become animated, not what anime shows should have games made for them. For that you want this thread.

I'd be pleased with EVE Burst Error anime too, due to my eager fanboyism, and the recent Kira Kira could be an awesome anime too (I imagine it could rival K-ON in popularity if it's done well).
There are many more great VNS which could be adapted into a great anime, but obviously everyone prefers animeadaptations of various Princess Lover, Akane-Iro and KissKiss type harem VNs. *sarcasm*

Usually, animes are adaptations of visual novels but.. There are some instances in which the animes are adaptations of games but most of those instances aren't very popular. Personally, I would like to see anime adaptation of these games:

Growlanser I-VI: I know that Growlanser IV had a short ova and wasn't popular at all which actually implies that making the Growlanser series into anime may be a bad idea, especially when the games itself do have anime cutscenes.

Tales of Hearts: Considering that it got both an anime and CG edition, not mentioning that it is part of the "Tales of" series, an anime adaptation doesn't sound like a bad idea unless the anime edition has lots of cutscenes. Chances of this getting an anime adaptation is higher than the Growlanser series but still, unlikely.

Stella Deus: This cell-shaded anime game from ATLUS is a bit old, so I don't think there is much of a chance that it will get animated. I haven't played it yet but I bought it for 60 bucks. The game does feature voiced dialogue but the battles are tactical-rpg which I don't really like.

And more realistically, I think these visual novels will most likely get anime adaptations:

Great Idea! I was actually confidently anticipating its anime release! And Delita hints me of a medieval Lelouch from his course of actions. Of course Suzaku is a no match for Ramza. Love the old english btw. I've played both ps1 and psp versions...jst to show how much i liked it.

It's unfair that visual novel games (including adult ones) are mostly the ones being translated into animes. (Speaking of which, suikoden gaiden wasn't even given a chance). RPG's aren't getting enough fair treatment. I'm glad about Tales of the Abyss' and Valkyria Chronicles' recent success but rpg's have more untapped and anciently powerful potential.

Hi everyone.

I don't really know if anyone wrote a similar thread or not. But I just felt like writing about it.

It is very common to see popular anime turned into video games whether they are good or not, however, the opposite is not entirely true. There are some popular video games that I'd like to see turned into anime so bad!

One of them is Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series (aka Gyakuten Saiban) which is one of the best Capcom games. I am not a big fan of Capcom but I love this series. It is certainly one of my favourites and the best handheld game IMO. It has interesting characters, nice art style, deep background stories, well written script, very mysterious murder cases and events, intelligent investigations, nice soundtrack...etc. I think it has the potential to be a great anime and I would like to see Capcom do it as soon as possible.

Another game is Hotel Dusk. This is one of the videos games I would like to see turned into anime too.

When thinking about MGS I think about other games like Killzone, Gears of War, Halo(yes there is a anime series but it's far from ideal or more far from what I want), Cryisis, Far Cry and Resistence, games with that kinda little twist on the real world and what not, would make for some great animes(again seems I'm drawn to FPS for wanting animes)
But oddly with a very recent game I'm playing, Uncharted 2, I somehow can't imagine what a anime would be like for it.

Well there are loads of japanese games that we can mention but I really like the thought of more western games getting the treatment.
