Realistic or Naruto-type ninjas?

I would like it if instead of the type of ninja in naruto they would use a bit more realistic ninjas (not completely realistic there should still be some *magic* involved) like the ninjas in PMK... they were verry badass and a show about them would have been cool.
I think a show like that could get into a serious storyline. (like in the zabuza arc where naruto questions if a ninja is only a tool)

Anyway what would you guys like 2 see more? Naruto type of "ninja" or a show with more "realistic" ninjas? where they would go on missions in the night and actualy be dressed in black? :)

I think that Ninja's with magical powers and are more "naruto-ish" is the way I like it. That is because in the naruto world, everyone can learn unique and strange abilities, so it would be a fun and exciting world. Where as real life ninjas, just watch "The last Samurai" or something if you want to see more "realistic" ninjas :)

I prefer a Naruto-style Ninja. Kicking ass while doing a nasty kaiton attack out of nowhere beats sneaking up on people and the slit there throat to watch them die a couple of minutes screaming there guts out for me. That and that Sahdow type Jutsu are to cool and that rea life ninja's can't use make them lame IMO. Go Shikamaru.

How is the show Naruto related with your thread's point ?? No way.

If you wan't ninjas like PMK then just watch those shows.

I think this is more of a complain as a sideline to a main idea that was to talk about the fact that Naruto isin't the same as it used to be. Or not as serious.

No just saw it in some other thread and I was wondering what people would rather see...
Its not a compaint in any way on this anime.
I would just like 2 see what type of ninja the people here would have prefered... and why.
I dont mean remove all naruto like ellements I mean would people rather see naruto and co displayed 2 be more like the types of ninjas I mentioned (and like I said not remove the chakra... though maybe toned down a tiny bit since I doubt if the anime was more like that a king frog would be involved :)) so they are actualy ninja like and sneaky in the night or rather the flashy stuff they do now... Both have their own pros and cons so I just want 2 know what people like more :)

real ninja's I'd say, cos' sometimes I get a little iritated by the contrast in Naruto. sometimes it's quite realistic (like when Naruto was falling from the tree at the end of the climbing excersise, and kakshi was going like *not good!*, and with the headset when they were capturing the kitty, and with lee not being able to go fighting again because of his bones being crushed...), but sometimes it's just complete nonsense (like with tenten doing that 'white dragon' attack or something; she flew for an eternity there...). I think they should be more consequent (I do like the jutsu's, because nothing tells us chackra can't be real... I don't believe it, but there are no hard proofs that no single human-being can have it, see what I mean? the 'flying' thing though isn't as well founded as in dbz, where they just say they simple are able to do it): and I'd definately prefer 7th samurai-style to dbz-style...

Oh and lets not forget the MK ninja's, I think the look and style of them rock... you know, scorpion, sub zero, reptile and all that. Or even the cyber ninjas were pretty damn cool, ninjas of the future... how cool ^^

i prefer naruto ninjas. if i see a stereotypical "regular" ninja, i instantaneously get reminded of teenage mutant ninja turtles.

As long as a show maintains a interesting story with nice characters both of them would be excelent, but if they can show us some cool jutsu's like spitting fire and water and summoning a huge toad smoking a nice pipe and cracking some jokes without lossing any focus on the story, then it makes the show all the better :D
So i'll vote for Naruto ninjas.

Well, in my opinion. This might even surpass even Rurouni Kenshin. Cuz this has more episodes to keep us going, unlike RK's 95 episode run.

Absolutely the Naruto style! It's a whole new, refreshing, and original take on the 'shinobi' And it isn't that it's not realistic because they're not wearing black, it's that they're so good that they don't need to wear black to help them be stealthy. Also Naruto surpassed Rurouni Kenshin a long time ago. I'm not saying that RK wasn't good, cause it was. It's just that Naruto is probably the best...possibly even more so than Lodoss Wars.

Plus you don't hear someone saying "That you do, or that you will" type of corny ending sentences. Cuz right now, I'd say that Kenshin Himura's team and even the Teenage mutant whatz its (not saying that Himura's a bad person or the Teenage mutant ninja turtles), but they would be at a definite disadvantage. Cuz unlike them, the characters in this anime act more swiftly and 100 times more faster than any other person that's tried to imitate these people.

Please don't turn this into a versus thread because I'll throw in Shazaam, JLA, JSA, the Ultmates' Avengers, Teen Titans and the Hanabarbara crew, and make this an extremely one-sided versus thread.


As for what type of Ninja I prefer, I prefer the OG ninjas, because without them there wouldn't be Naruto, and I like their realistic style more then the typical shonen stuff, but the character design on Naruto is bomb though.

Well, the way how Kishimoto thought of doing ninjas this way was just ingenious. Like rather than taking the traditional ninja type he came up with this, and I couldn't be more happier with the results.
