I searched at Manga Jouhou, but the link to Snoopycool.com doesn't work. Does anyone else know where I can find scanlations of Yakitate!! Japan? I really want to read this after hearing some good things about it. Thanks

Hmm, their site seems to be down. You can either wait till it's up again or go to their IRC channel at #Snoopycool@irc.irchighway.net.

Yeah, their site has been up and down for me recently. Often their newest chapters have torrents listed on Manga Jouhou. Doesn't help you for the older ones, though.

someone's hotlinking to the site, but I can't get enough bandwidth free to download the logs and find the culprit. If you happen to know, point me to them so I can have their ISP shut them down.

It seems that vol. 3 chaps 21 and 24 are corrupted files at your site.

noooope, cause they weren't months ago and they've never been changed~ do your file sizes match the ones on the site? if they don't then you didn't get the entire file and need to redownload. And if they do match, you should still redownload.

This makes me wonder why omanga's site is still up despite everyone and their dogs giving out the http links of gantz when anyone asked what it is about during the premiere day.

no, see, the problem is that our server prioritizes larger files. So if you had the links already, they worked perfectly fine, but no one could get to the actual pages because you were taking up all of the bandwidth. We had the same problem when people gave out the Ippo http links in April, so we moved those files to hong kong where they are currently hosted. I didn't think we'd have this problem with the series currently on the archives, but it would seem that I was wrong (who knows... Midori and Yakitate!! Japan seem to be popular amongst asshole hotlinkers. MAR's got its fair share, too, but nothing near as high). But the problem's fixed now... all's well.

edit: Also, Omanga runs off multiple servers while we have the archives and the main site all running from the same box.

The life of the hosting manga fansubbers seems to be a hard one, I hope all these bloody bastard won't put anyone in mind of leaving the field because it would be too damn sad

I don't understand why so many manga fansubbers prefer the direct download method - why not switch to BT? It would heavily reduce bad leacher problems, and reduce the load on your servers... besides, it would allow fans of your subs to help seed and distribute load for the files...

From my experience, unless it's a huge manga BT site where you can find 200+ series, those torrents won't get seeded for very long. The torrents itself has to be somewhat big also(like 15+ volumes) if you want it to last longer than a few weeks.

And I couldn't use Bit torrent when I was in college, so I feel the pains of all the people that don't bother coming to this board because animesuki is completely useless to them.
