Maybe I've watched to much anime in to little time, but I've now watched 6 episodes of FMP and… I don't like it so far. To me it just seems as an excuse to show panties and schoolgirls. Does it continue like this to the end?

oh, and next time I get an anime I'm gonna read about it first rather than just trust what the majority tells me so that you wont have to listen to my rabble.

...sorry.

I watched the series 2 times......and I don't recall there were any attempt to deliberately showing panties, as for schoogirls, they are there because for the earlier parts of the series it revolve around Sosuke being assigned to the high school to protect Chidori, because she is a protential target of some terrorist group.....and I don't recall there were any attempt to compulsorily showing schoolgirls onto the screen when unnecessary......they are sometimes there simply because the the background is a high school.

I enjoyed the overall story and setting......I even bought the novel for it to read the story in greater detail.

What I meant was that in the early episodes, which are the only ones I've seen so far, the show plays a lot on the supposed attractiveness of Chidori. For example; close up of Chidori’s whole underwear collection at the panties thief scene. The only character with a shower scene is Chidori, actually she has two in just a few episodes. Why would soviet scientists dress up their test subject, Chidori, in a white miniskirt?

What I asked is if the show continues like this and from what I've read in this thread it doesn't so I'll watch a few more and see how it develops.

Actually, if memory serves, they dressed her in a hospital gown.

Yeah, here's some links to some screencaps from the series--

She's also dressed in a hospital gown in volume 2 of the manga--

And then there's this image from the novels--

Actually, the worst fan service episode is the Fumoffu episode when Tessa visits Tokyo, and they go to a hot spring.

The earlier part of the series is that way, once you get out of the high school environemnt, it starts getting much more serious.

The later episodes are much more action/storyline oriented, and other than a bath scene later on, there is very little fanservice in the later episodes.

According to the novel, the reason that she got stripped completely and got changed in the hospital gown was to ensure that she does not have any metalic objects on her before putting her into the tube-coffin like device.

Well, I guess it doesn't like direct linking. The entire gallery can be found at http://www.abstratica.org/anime/fmp/fmp-gal.html

Lots to see, and if you're into FMP, check out the forum.

I am mortified to actually find someone who doesn't like FMP. My entire anime club loves the series and we have pple who ave mised favs. we ave pple who love Princess Tutu and some who absolutely hate it. So its not like we all like the same kind on anime. Just keep watching and believe me, it will get very interesting (4 u anyway seeing that the whole thing is interesting 4 me). Hang on my friend, hang on.

Hotsprings episode = mandatory in any and every anime ever created... It's a cultural thing, I guess. And besides, that was one of the funniest episodes ever.
Kurtz: Shinji... You must go on...
Shinji: No! Kurtz-san!
Kurtz: I can't go any further...
Shinji: You just have a burn on your butt...
Kurtz: Shut up! I know my body best... Now go!
**slumps over**

To clarify...there is no released BOXED set, there is the Volume 1 + Box + T-shirt offer which is basically the first DVD volume with the collector's box and a t-shirt.

ADV has very rarely released smaller volumed series' as a boxed set, most times they stick to the series' that have more than 10 volumes to create a full boxed set to, as do most other companies. There's a chance there might be a retailer that has boxed them together themselves, but that's usually just as rare.

Ohhh... So that's waht it was. My bad. Sorry for the misinformation. I was just passing through your friendly neighborhood Best Buy and noticed a box of FMP lying on the side. I didn't give it a pasing thought, as I was busy looking for NTHT box.
