Too bad it happened right before the last subtitled show, the finale of EP 13. Don't worry, as with almost every short (12-13 episode) anime series, the ending totally sucked :(
I guess they needed somehow end the show as the manga must be no where near finished and the producers probably had to cobble together a real mish-mash. I've only started watching japanese anime shows in the past two years, and I've seen enough to dread the final episode of almost every series I've watched (Azumanga Daioh, Kiddy Grade, Ai Yori Aoshi and Fruits Basket being pretty much the sole exceptions). It's a shame, almost a crime one would hope, the mangling of endings.
Sheesh, the last 5-7 minutes was the worst! They rushed to "tie" up loose ends and made it very confusing to people who might have really thought they were following along the show somewhat closely. Whenever a show requires a montage with a voice-over to "tell" us what's going to happen and who's what and what's going to happen next...Watch out and hold your noses!

however, it is sopposed to be released in early-mid 2004, so not a bad turn-around.

Alas, alas, true. If one desperately wants to see the last episode, it can probably be aquired with even less legal means...but the same applies to pretty much anything.

Well I did release the subb for episode 13 however I had to remove it as soon as it was lisenced, if your lucky you might be able to find a copy on direct connect or kazaa.

Don't worry about that last episode...Like I stated earlier...Very stinky mess 'o' stuff not really worth your time, even if you did "like" this show for the first 12 episodes.
I wish Stellvia was licensed, not this, and certainly NOT Divergence Eve...Ugh.
Back to the better shows...
P.S. I have to say it was the most curious thing to go to the official web site for Ikki-T and see for each episode a "Special Shot of the Episode!" (http://www.ikkitousen.com/story/02.html) of a portion of female anatomy in up close and personal...Fan service to a whole new level. So this was a "historical" anime huh ;)

Heh, that was a funny page. I like that they made three "recommended" shots for each episode as well. Too bad I don't know enough japanese to read the comments. :-)

man this anime was really really just based on sex appeal and such
Like in the anime randomly clothes would be tourn off by a punch and at random times she'd just be in weird positions saying weird things
oh well anyways im not a big fan of this after watching episode 6 (i was expecting it to get better cuz of course i dont judge an anime in like 3 eps) I was greatly dissapointed at the lack of everything

heh yeah it was licensed. the manga is going to be called Battle Vixens (crap!) by tokyopop.
It actually wasnt a bad series despite the fanservice (i liked it *grin*). the story i thought was neat.

Well, they did license Mouse. That has to tell you some of the quality lincenses out there. My guess is it's probably cheap, so companies are probably like, meh, can't be any harm in doing it.

Well, extremely lame in my opinion ;)
Here's my muddled take on the mess:
I no longer have the show, and it is blissfully fading in memory.
Ending...Hmm. Hakufu has the annoying creepy womanizer guy (Saji) by the throat and we realize that somehow the newly dead Toutaku has taken over her body and is intent on killing just about everybody left I guess. Hafuku's cousin Koukin tries to intervene and "wake" her up and gets pummeled. Finally Hafuku overcome's Toutaku's spirit and regains control. Not before she's killed (I think) Kannei, the crazy guy with the iron pipe weapons (finally!) by stomping his mad head into a bloody smear.
So does Saji get punished for arranging all of this, torturing Koukin and the big guy Gakushuu, causing crazy-boy with the iron pipe fetish to go crazy, and betraying, well, everybody's confidence? Nope, next day he's in the hospital and Ryomou is visiting him (catches him groping some nurse, but she doesn't seem to mind all that. All is forgiven! Sheesh.
Hafuku finally has a showdown match with Ukitsu (see images here: website (http://ur.anime.ca/hayama/journal.php) ) and they are destined to kill one or the other, supposedly Hafuku. Ukitsu is so excited she takes off the weights she normally wears around her wrists and ankles Hafuku gets pummeled like always, until almost naked she awakes the dragon thingy in herself and almost kills Ukitsu, who coincidently also becomes close to naked. As this is happening, Hafuku's mom and the old geezer from the Hot Springs episode are talking about Hafuku's destiny to die at the hands of Ukitsu...But both are so stupid according to the geezer, so they will ignore destiny and live to fight on.
What!?! My disbelief at what a crazy turn this show makes me laugh out loud at this point.
Hafuku suppresses the dragon-spirit-thingy, tears off the Megitama-Blue Seed earring abd cheerfully Ukitsu follows suit. So the fight ends in a draw.
Bleh!
Finally, a montage of scenes rapidly follow as time is running out on the episode. Toutaku's female follower takes the mark of the emperor to another school and pledges her loyalty (It's the group led by the napping dude who vanquished Hafuku's school in the tournement previously) and lots of silly narration by the old geezer about the history of the conflict of the Three Kingdoms...Blah Blah Blah.
And that's it...As I remember and despise.

I'm also astonished at the crap that's getting licensed this season. Really, I have to laugh - in the race to pre-license stuff sight-unseen, it seems the distributors are really picking up some steaming hunks of cabbit droppings.
I remember starting a joke thread awhile back saying their maybe some U.S. studios are watching this board - so instead of raving about stuff we like (and having it licensed before complete), we should use reverse psychology and be saying stuff "Gee, I hope they license *Mouse* instead of that boring Scrapped Princess - *Mouse* is so kewl!" (SP was still airing then). Now I'm beginning to wonder if it actually worked! :heh:
ikkitousen i way too short. many chars like zaza (guy who alway slept, was called like that or?) did not fight or not enough. did they ve problems with the money. anyway the ending sux.

all i saw were 20-25min/eps of fan service. if this is a TV series, they sure as hell went almost to the adult corner of the store. i think the series is a big waste of time. it's almost softcore porn (bits of clothing have an odd way of covering just the "nips" and every girl has a "pantsu" shot in almost every frame w/ mini skirts for schoolwear and properly placed staircases and wind breezes) but it's not really something you could "beat off" to (for those so inclined). the story is so convoluted that it's not even worth watching for a plotline. i didn't remember even 2 of the schools names (and it wouldn't have mattered if i did). there was also some reference to the "3 kingdoms" that didn't make any sense.
waste of time. :eyespin: one wonders why it's even licensed (if it is). maybe for the teens who can't browse the adult section for "real" hentai can watch this. :thinker: :rolleyes:
i don't know if this would be considered a spoiler for those who might be interested, i couldn't give away the story if i wanted to. :rolleyes:
Ikkitousen is Licensed I believe, I don't know why but it is, since it isn't available for dl on bt anymore and that its listed as licensed under animesuki's licensed anime list.
I couldn't care less for the story if their was one at all. I did enjoy some of the fights and all the panty shots and ecchi scenes though. :naughty:

Yup licensed, btw i loved Ikkitousen, i thought it was rather funny and had some cool characters, and the story was a bit twisted but still ...

its rude to the heroes of the 3 kingdoms dynasty. if they would make it better without the fan service, it'll be much appreciated

I must say that Ikkitousen is definitely just "fanservice". I was a little turned off by all the panty shots and ripping off of the girls' clothing (every single fight scene could be predicted to have at least one but more likely more shots of these). They were a bit excessive. Oddly enough I kept watching till the bitter end because I was interested in the background story of the 3 kingdoms, hoping against hope that they were going to develop the storyline more. Unfortunately, this never happens. This is definitely not an anime I would purchase to keep.
I was interested until about halfway through when I woke up and realized that every episode was the same....
Although I did want to watch it through to find out what happened to Hakufu after Toutaku took her over...oh well, I suppose I will have to just wait for one of my friends to buy the DVD's.

Hmm, what do I think of that series? Good idea, poorly executed. I liked the concept, a modern day (albeit quite fantasy) version of the 3-kingdoms story. Unfortunately they ballsed it up in my view. Constant needless fanservice right from the start meant I couldn't take anything in the anime seriously, they could have done SO much better than this, with its weak storyline and total lack of character development. It angered me that they "wasted" what was an interesting concept to me.
heck, i wouldn't even call the fanservice fanservice...it was more like audience pandering (in the manga, every fight had heaps of sexual innuendo)

Does the manga end better? I skimmed through volume 5 and it looks like it went farther than the anime. I was hoping there would be a better development with Kokin (his character is way better in the manga) because the anime kept dropping hints that he would be stronger. maybe I was just not understanding it correctly. I was really disappointed with the ending of the anime so I wasn't sure to buy the manga. I know Ikkitousen steals frames from Tenjo Tenge but I still like both.

I find it hilarious that I happened to read this thread while listening to the OP single for the same show.
I've never even seen the show itself (only the opening sequence), so I can't comment. But, the trailer is starting to show up on a few discs, so we know it's not far off. (Trailer's on Mahoromatic Summer Special, if you're wondering.)

Anime Keep used to sub it before it got licensed. Ikkitousen had great fighting and awesome ecchiness.
I was wondering if anybody knows if the DVDs by pioneer will be censored or edited from the versions I saw Anime Keep doing. If they are in their orriginal form then I might buy the dvd...

Check Geneon's site, it has a trailer, judging from the fanservice in it you can be pretty sure that it'll be unedited DVD's . Also it has a rating 16+

Oh? The manga and anime are identical, 95% of the displayed scenes have some ecchi element in it, mostly panty shots... and the manga has some actual nudity, while the anime doesn't .

PS The manga is still ongoing??? I thought there were only 6 volumes? That would mean I'd have to search for the rest since only 6 are mentioned at my anime shop (including 2 that have yet to be released) and I'm only at volume 4 ...

Hey, I'm a fan of RoTK having read the novel at least 5 times. I'm actually amused by this (outrageous) take on the Classic tale.
Take it with a pinch of salt, sit back and enjoy the take.Can't wait for Kongming and Sima Yi to show up.
Third seaons coming...YAYYYYYYYYY. Actually not to sure if I'm happy or not, I'm rahter burnt out of pointless panty shots, shredded clothes that still somehow strongly cover up private parts, and no real plot. Actually at first I thought it was a third season, but now that I look at it, some of characters that died in season 1 are back. Guess it's an all new original story with all the characters from season 1 and 2 plus some more I think. Hmmm...I'll check it out none the less.

I really like Ikki Tousen, have watched the first series many times over on DVD so far :D
1)How tall is Kan'u Unchou?
2)Is there some information about the height sizes, etc. of the characters in Ikki tousen?
3)did Kan'u ever kiss anyone? Was she ever raped by anyone? did she ever have sex with anyone?
4)Did Hakufu and Koukin get together? ever kiss? Anything more than that?
Will they ever/any signs of it happening?
