2003-11-22, 22:47
That was the ultimate summon creature.
And, there was not one per ep...
There is one almost every episode...
But sometimes hey are repeated...
Like the 'super' pheonix
[it takes the same soils only they say 'recharged']

The Ultimate Summoned Monster one is the one Pisto tried to summon when he stole the Demon Gun.

Not fair :(, I didn't see eps 12 onwards.
I thought there was a new summoned creature each episode

ChibiDusk
2003-11-28, 11:21
Um...
Typhoon and Leviathan are two different summons.

There's also the very last summons used in the series (EP 25) but the soils for that are pretty big spoilers, so I'll stop there..........

There are a few more soils, but they arn't actually appear in the series. The soils that appear in addition to what are listed above are all a part of the Final Fantasy Unlimited - AFTER production, the manga / novel that is the second half of the series. I don't actually have it - all I know is that a few more of the big summons of the games appear in there. Someone who's better aquainted with the novel would probably best say more.

DrWho2002
2003-11-28, 22:02
Yeah, there's soils there for summoning Anima and Knights of the Round. I can't remember what those are offhand tho.

Some of you may already know this, but since the TV series was cancelled,
the company decided to continue the series in the form of novels. 5 were released
entitled FF:U AFTER. Now, what surprises me is...on ADV's FF:U site they have this particular wallpaper:

http://www.ffudvd.com/images/equipment/desktops/desk04-800x600.jpg
http://www.ffudvd.com/images/equipment/desktops/desk04-800x600.jpg

Now, this is definatly detailing FF:U AFTER, well I am 98% sure it is.
I don't care if most of the characters died at the end of the TV series, they just did that to end the series due to cancellation.
Let me explain the wallpaper in more detail.

1] Shuroi Kumo seems to be experincing after battle feelings of hate towards certain memories in his past. This causes him to break down and become somewhat unstable. Kaze helps him along, throwing aside the fact they are enemies. After the TV end episode it should be clear they are both on the same side and are fighting for somewhat the same reason.

2]Helba was ressurected in full bloom to help along the rebirth of the Count. If you can recall. In a certain episode The Counts eyes was shown, they were all spirally. In that ep Yuu gets somewhat sick and at the end of the episode it closes up on Yuu's eyes and we see the same spirally effect as Count's eyes. This is said to be, Count had embedded a piece of Omega withing Yuu due to the fact he could forsee his demise and wanted to secure the destruction of the Inner and Outer worlds.

3] So as said above, Yuu has been possessed in a way, he now holds a part of Omega.

4]Lisa and Ai want to save Yuu, so they team up with a couple companions.

5]"Clear" is back, I believe he was a part of some puzzle of Omega.

6]Dont ask me whats with the guy in the corner, he is shown in the AFTER books but not that evily o.O

So, I really do hope ADV continues the series in anime-form and not only novel.

I think you're grasping at straws here man. Nothing more is gonna happen with FF:U. Since they've done the books already, it's certain no more anime is going to be produced. FF:U sales over here would have to be tremendous hit for anything to happen, and so far, no news of that has happened. =p

The guy in the corner is named "Soldier C" I believe and is one of the bad guys.

Only one FF:U After novel was released. There were webstories on FF:U's japanese home page called FF:U After - Spiral. There are 6 of those stories out, plus a Zero story. There is also a FF:U After 2 Drama CD, and a FF:U Before drama CD. That is it.

ADV just probably thought, "hey that's some nice artwork" and put it up on their page.

ChibiDusk
2004-03-13, 20:44
No, Final Fantasy: Unlimited is an anime series based on the games.

<xellos>
2004-03-14, 10:15
based on the games? i wouldnt say that

DrWho2002

Saying it's based on the themes of the games would be a better choice of words....

Sensei

Damn you... I hadn't seen Final Unlimited and you just told me the end... erm... well actually thanks. I never actually got in that anime, it bored me... I guess I'll finish watching it to see that ending.

Damnit why can't they do anything good ? Theyre games are awesome, yet this anime was bad and FF: Spirits something wasn't really good, yes the animation was great but the story.. meh. I sure hope alot from FF: Advent Children.

Again, sorry if I offended any FF Fanatics.

Saying it's based on the themes of the games would be a better choice of words....
Saying it violently violates the "Final Fantasy" name would be an even better way to put it...

it's pretty lame, the art style isn't nearly as good as it could be, and it was obviously made before FFIX (the character is angsty, all FF characters cease being angsty after FFIX)

Um... FF:U After Spiral is a text story available online at www.ff-u.com. It is NOT an animated series. Unless you can read japanese well, you're gonna be SOL.

It had a really interesting plot and it had a lot of potential. But the director is poor at directing, the character designer (although i dont mind the characters) doesnt really give an FF feel....and the crazy ass amount of fillers.

The plot was revised and some ideas were reused in Kingdom Hearts, which I adore.

I actually wouldnt mind if they remade FFU, but this movie....is really NOT a smart move for Square Enix. I dont think it met commercial success at all...why continue it?!

Hi there. I just finished watching FFU and I was wondering if anybody knows if there is or will be a season 2? I mean 1 ended in a way where there doesn't REALLY need to be a 2 but it kept it kind of open so I am curious now. I searched the 'net and didn't find anything at all about a Season 2 but I did see one mention, at a site that was closed down  so I am at a loss as of now. Any information would be greatly appreciated because, well, I wanna know :eyespin: lol. Thanks ahead of time.

im am positive there wont be. when FFU was announced, it was supposively a 50 ep series. however, due to low ratings, they scaled the entire series down to 25 or whatever episodes. anime and movies havent been squaresoft's strong points. its better we let them stick to games.

Wow the admins here are so nice I love it. I posted a topic on this in the wrong place (I have done this before too...I am new to AnimeSuki) and they put it in the right place without making a warning or anything. Better then other forums at least...I won't say any names. ANYWAY.

So what is this I hear about the Novel continuations that finish the series? I followed the posted link and it took me to nothing pretty much. I mean I realize this series isn't the best of series' out there but once I start something I want to finish it. I watched the whole show now I want to see how it ends properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
