I was looking on amazon.com to see if Full Metal Panic 5 was out on the market yet. It's not, but they had a picture of the cover and I was disturbed to see a little green triangle at the top left hand corner saying "artwork subject to change"

I really like the artwork in this series. I'm fairly new to the manga scene, has anyone experienced a change in artists before? If so, is it tragic? or do they do a good job so that there is a smooth transition and not much of an alteration? Granted the story will still be the same, but you get used to the way characters are portrayed.

Uhhh... "artwork subject to change" means that the final cover art might not be what is shown in that picture. It does NOT mean they just gave the manga to a different artist to draw...........

note that they've been doing a lot of altering to manga covers recently, like Ikkitousen (AKA battle vixens) has 2 volumes out with 4 different displayed covers (1 of each on websites/pictures, 1 of each for the actual cover)
the same goes for a few others, it's kinda weird

I wonder if the US publishers wanted a different cover on purpose from the Japanese edition? Or do they try to use the same cover when they can?

honestly i don't know why they do it, though the actual "Battle Vixens" vol. 1 cover is a bit more suggestive than the advertised one
