As we have agreed before, We will only have one thread per episode.
I am following kj1980's naming convention from Season 1 episode 13.

Now for the big news:
Marimite's scheduled has been confirmed, every sunday at 7:30 morning (Oh the agony of waiting for a raw on Tuesday...).
Not only that, a special service for marimite fans, here is the synopsis of the episode 1 season 2:
Synopsis of Marimite Season 2 episode 1 (http://premium.uploadit.org/SleeplessHeart/Marimite2_ep01.tif)

Of course, it is in Japanese ... (giggle) (giggle).
So,anyone who can read japanese , please volunteer to translate it (I am a beginner).

Looks like it will be the new year's side story.
Yumi got a call from Sei and was tricked into going out with her alone for a date. Later on Sei drove them to Sachiko's home for a stay-over that night but found Suguru and ..surprise... Yuuki were also there. Four of them and Sachiko's mother had dinner together (sushi :-)~~) and played various games that evening. Quite warm and funny side story.

Did anyone notice, that the title of Marimite has been changed?

 マリア様がみてる ~春~
Maria sama ga miteru - Spring

Spring....

Does it mean that it will end at graduation ceremony?

No no. It has been made public that Noriko and Touko will both appear. That means we will definitely see past the arc in your spoiler tag. Not sure if that's a spoiler though. ;)

I think I already mentioned way before that the first episode will begin from "Nakaki Yoruno" (see chapter 2 on novel# 4 in the Marimite FAQ) and about Touko and Noriko's voice being played at the Mari-mite event...

Watched the raw and all I can say is:

I want more of Yumi and Sei dating...

A good starting episode and cleverly used many chances to introduce the characters to viewers who have not watched the first season. Yumi again showed her hundred different expressions and was pretty funny at times. Next episode would be on Rosa Foetida. Should be a light-hearted episode as well while we go into the graduation arc.

Wow... Sei can drive? Wait, how old is she again? WARRGH

Okay, so she hasn't graduated yet but she will soon. That means she's... um.. 17 or 18 maybe? Can you drive cars in Japan at that age? Here you can only drive cars when you're 21 and above...

I had totally forgotten how much i liked this serie after season 1~ o.o

Even tho i didnt understand a thing i had to see the raw for the first ep... and it didnt disappoint me XD
I wont talk about the story itself as there isnt yet subbed eps out.. but the ending made me seriously hope for more shoujo-ai stuff in this serie. REALLY suggestive positions XD~ Damn you teasers!

Check out the eyecatch tho! Sachiko and Yumi looking cute ^^

Just had a chance to get a quick look at the raw first episode... My Japanese isn't good by any means, but even I found most of the episode pretty self explanatory. It was a gentle introduction to anyone who hadn't seen the series before, and the audience got a good look at Yumi, Sachiko & Sei's personalities, and the whole Yamayurikai gang all managed to get introduced neatly.

I thought the first episode managed to capture the mood and feel of the first series quite well and also had a few nice nods to returning viewers, such as a scene where Sei once again made Sachiko jealous over Yumi...

On a slightly off topic note, what's up with the cat that shows up out of nowhere in both the opening & next episode previews?
I think the highlight for me was the yodelling in the preview. :) LOL!
I couldn't figure this out, but were those photos shots of all the older men Eriko had been dating or am I just imagining things?

I remember I read a doujin where Sei drives like Yukari-sensei (Azumanga Daioh), but I forgot the URL.

Back to my impression of the new season:
- Slightly better art but the animation is still similiar to season 1.
- Opening theme is better without the lyric
- Those ending arts are very nice, I hope they will release them as wallpapers

Pleasant surprise:
The raw is available after a few hours from the TV broadcast.

Here's my summary of the episode. If anyone can think of anything to add, please do. :)

The ep starts out with Yumi meeting Sachiko in front of the Maria-sama statue. Yumi gives a bit of recap.
After the OP, we go back in time to the day before New Year's Eve. Yumi misses Sachiko because she hasn't been able to see her during winter break. Sei calls her and invites her on a "date," a New Year's meeting of the Yamayurikai. Yumi agrees, happy that she'll be able to see Sachiko.
The next day, Yumi goes to meet everyone, but Sei is the only one there to meet her. Yumi is confused and Sei says, "Did I say anyone else was coming? ... You fell into my trap, Yumi-chan." The look on Yumi's face right after that is PRICELESS.
Then they get into the car, and it takes Yumi a minute to notice that Sei's the one who's going to drive them. Then when Sei took off I really feared for Yumi's life... @_@ Then Yumi asks how long she's been driving and she says that today is her first time, although she's been training. Yumi gets panicked and asks to be let out of the car, but Sei brushes off her concern.
They pull up to the gate of a building and Yumi asks where they are (she wonders if it's a hospital, or a school, lol). Sei doesn't answer her at first, but as they're driving in she tells her to look at the nameplate on the gate, and Yumi sees that it says "Ogasawara."
Yumi is amazed by everything, like how big it is and how the gates open automatically... ^^ Yumi castigizes Sei for not telling her where they were going before, because she wanted to make emotional preparations for visiting Sachiko's house...
They are greeted by a butler, and when they walk inside they see Yuuki (Yumi's brother) and Kashiwagi (Sachiko's fiance); Kashiwagi has his arm around Yuuki's shoulders. Yumi asks Yuuki why he's there, and he says he ended up coming there after losing a bet to Yuuki in an arcade... ^^
Then Sachiko and her mother, both dressed in kimono, greet them. Sachiko introduces Yumi to her mother, who applauds Sachiko's taste in choosing Yumi.
Then they meet up with the rest of the Yamayurikai, and they talk about Yuuki being Yumi's brother and how they look alike. Then they play some card games, with Suguru and Yuuki. Yumi is horrible at it because her face gives everything away. ^^
Sei and Kashiwagi have a minor disagreement, both quoting superstitions about how being good at a game means such-and-such about a person, and Eriko remarks to Youko that Sei and Kashiwagi are natural enemies.
Later, Sei shows Yumi to the bathroom (which, of course, is HUGE). Yumi asks Sei if she's ever been to Sachiko's house before, and Sei says that she has, the summer before.
Sei says that they (the current Roses) should hang out at Sachiko's place with everyone sometimes after they graduate. She says the best times would be like today, when Sachiko's father and uncle(s?) are gone. She tells Yumi that the Ogasawara men are visiting their mistresses today. They all have secondary residences away from the main house. On New Year's Day they have a family party, but for 2 or 3 days they give the servants time off and go to visit their mistresses.
Yumi is surprised that Sei knows so much about Sachiko's family, and Sei tells her that she heard it from Youko. She says that her (Sei's) job was to bring Yumi to make the atmosphere more lively.
Sei heats some takoyaki up in the microwave. Sachiko asks what it is and then, when Sei tells her, remarks that it's unusual. This reminds Yumi of how different her life is from Sachiko's.
Sei holds one out to Yumi and asks her to try it to see if it tastes okay. Sei feeds it to her and then wipes her mouth, telling her she has food around it. Then Sachiko scolds Sei, telling her not to give Yumi the bad habit of eating while standing up. She scolds Yumi too, of course. ^^
Sei offers Sachiko some takoyaki and Sachiko turns her down.
Kashiwagi walks in, and asks Sachiko if she always does fun stuff like that at school. She's surprised that he called it "fun," but he continues, "Even if you try to hide it, I can tell. Sa-chan, goofing around with Yumi like that is the thing you find most fun." Yumi's surprised to hear this, of course.
Sachiko takes the tea and goes. Sei tells Kashiwagi to keep his hands off of Yumi.
Most of the Yamayurikai have plans, so they leave. Rei and Yoshino are going to Hakone with their families, Eriko is traveling somewhere with her family, and Youko and Shimako both have plans as well. Eriko asks Kashiwagi and Yuuki to act as bodyguards for the girls. Yumi's surprised to hear that Yuuki is spending the night. ^^
Yumi is afraid that Sachiko will tell her to go home, but then Sachiko asks Yumi if she has any plans for tomorrow, and when Yumi says no, she tells her to stop being so nervous and invites her to spend the night.
Yumi is a little shocked by how big the rooms are in Sachiko's house. Yumi wonders if Yuuki and Kashiwagi have gone to bed already, and Sei says "I hope Yuuki-kun will be all right..." ^^ Yumi doesn't understand, of course. -_-
Then Sachiko comes in and suggests they make good luck charms to put under their pillows so that they'll have good first dreams of the new year ("hatsuyume"). They do a chant thing to make the charms; Sachiko goes first, then Yumi does it and Sachiko compliments her on it. :)
They go to bed. Lying there, Yumi thinks to herself that she never imagined being able to spend New Year's Eve sleeping next to Sachiko, and that this year will be a good one.
She wonders if Sachiko has fallen asleep, but then Sachiko tells her that she's happy Yumi came today, and invites her to come over again sometime if she'd like. Yumi repeats Sachiko's words to herself in her head.
Then the setting switches back to the one at the very beginning of the episode, where Yumi and Sachiko meet at the Maria-sama statue. Yumi remarks that it's spring already, and Sachiko is confused.
Yumi thinks to herself that her first year here is passing already, dreamlike, and that time is cruelly passing. Then she implores Maria-sama to let the shininess of this current time in her life last forever.

Just watched the first episode subbed, it was alright; a good introduction to the second season. The opening song was a little :eyebrow: though. Arika's voice isn't er.... too suitable for these kind of songs. Otherwise, it was cool; more Rosa Gigantea is always fine by me.

Unfortunately, all the raw sources available to us had this time stamp, and I mean EVERY stupid raw had it.. I must have seen like 10 raws, These time stamps are not uncommon... several shows have had them in the past. Removal of these stamps would be fairly difficult.. So there they are =p

Actually, for what would seem to be a mundane intro/recap episode, there's quite an underlying message that tells us much about the Yumi and Sachiko's relationship beneath the flowery scenery, gentle music and dream-like world of school.

Just before Sachiko falls asleep, she tells Yumi that she had a good time together for New Year's Day and she ask Yumi to come over more often. Then in the next few spoken words from Yumi, we find out she never did for the 2 months between then and now. For those of us who've watched the first season, we know they've gotten closer since the Valentine date should have taken place within. Yet they're still not close. So they have a long way to breaking down the insecurity barriers that keep them apart, though it's at the risk of losing what they have now. Kinda like taking them away from the dream that needs to be taken away.

I liked this episode a lot.

Yumi was so cute. I only say "Pokerface-Yumi" or
"Well thatīs probably because we were made in the same place".

Sei was great as always teasing poor Yumi.
Sachiko looked beautiful.

Probably to early to say this but I really wonder if Sei and Suguru Kashiwagi are soulmates.
They are somehow similar, teasing others, esspecially Sachiko and Yumi.
Both seem to have a relaxed and self-confident personality.
I think they could be good friends if they try.

"Soulmates" doesn't have to refer to people who are romantically compatible, but it's often used in that way.

Now that is a first that I've ever heard...and as remote of a possibility as Touko becoming Yoshino soeur.

In the novel, Sei has a very harsh tone of voice when talking with Kashiwagi and vice-versa. But in many ways, Yumi is pretty constructive in using their help whenever she needs it...

I really thought it was a possibility.
Of course I only know the anime so it was just a prognosis based on very little information.

I was thinking in the direction of a german saying: "People who tease each other love each other. " ("Was sich neckt, das liebt sich." Not literally translated)
Of course in the case of Sei and Kashiwagi in the form of a friendship.

What a pity. It will not happen. Sei seems to be serious in her aversion towards Kashiwagi.
But that is of course better for the anime as a whole. There is already enough harmony and peace in this one. :)

When the opening started and there was singing I nearly fall from my chair. Ooohh... I was hooked to that opening song from the beginning. I liked first episode a lot, maybe the best MariMite episode so far (first season included of course :heh: ).
Sei and Suguru? I don't think so. Sei enjoys too much teasing Yumi.

And the scene of Yuuki and Suguru (Suguru's hand on Yuuki's shoulder) was so typical shounen-ai uke-seme scene that I had to just laugh to that.

Hmm... is there any straight character in this series?

Hmm... is there any straight character in this series?

Kashiwagi Suguru - blatantly obvious that he is bisexual with an eye on Yuuki-kun. But he also is pretty amusing that he has fell down from becoming a prince of ginkgos to a guy that is used by Yumi-chan whenever she needs assistance (笑

Fukuzawa Yuuki (Yumi's brother) - he thinks Touko-chan is rather cute (笑

Kobayashi-kun (Hanadera's Student Body Accountant) - hinted that he is rather interested in Yumi (ぉ

The guys that kidnapped Yumi at Hanadera - they all fell in love with Yumi (笑

Mizuno Youko - more like she wants to enjoy high school life and go on to get a better education. I don't think she is interested in love relationships.

Ogasawara Sachiko - Once her fear of men are resolved through the help of the new members of the Bara no Yakata...

Fukuzawa Yumi - Once her over-reliance and self-consciousness to Sachiko is overcome by "Rainy Blue" & "Parasol o Sashite."

Torii Eriko - Yamanobe-san love love (笑

Hasegura Rei - "Rei-chan ga nikui, Rei-chan ga nikui, Rei-chan ga nikui!!!!" (笑

Shimadu Yoshino - it is hinted somewhat that she is rather interested in Yuuki (ぉ

Satou Sei - blatantly obvious she leans toward the same sex as her own

Toudou Shimako - Shimura Takuya (笑

Nijou Noriko - Shimura Takuya (笑

Then again, these are rather points in the novels that are usually put into imaginary expansion in doujinshis.

I wonder about Suguru sometimes...

His opinion towards the future heir of Ogasawara clan was pretty much: "Children? Heck no... I am not tapping Sachiko's ass. Let Yuuki do the dirty work"

He's quite twisted
