View Full Version : Touch
Okay, I know it's a 101 episode series, and there is 5(??) movies out right now, with the latter two being anniversary-type movies.. My question is, where exactly does these movies fall in the Touch timeline? Do I need to watch the whole 101 tv episode series before i watch the movies, or do they fall within the storyline somewhere? If so can someone give me an episode count as to where they belong (Without spoilers of course...lol)
It's been a while since I saw the movies, but as far as I can remember, the first three movies were just recaps of the TV eps. The first movie I think recaps the first 20 or so eps, etc., etc. Sorry I can't provide more info, it's been a while.

Watch them afterwards. ^^

To watch movie 1, you should at least watch last episode 30-35. To watch the movie 2 & 3, you will need to watch much further.
Thanks for the info everyone, I'll hold off on watching the movies then for now, since i'm still fairly early into the anime, although I'm much further (Vol 11) into the manga, and at this point, it seems to be going identical to the manga :)
I just finished reading the manga.
Do the two movies that come after the TV series add anything that didn't happen in the manga?

I been keeping up with central-anime's releases, and Im glad that they're releasing one episode per day. This is one of the few highschool animes being released and I must say its a great anime.
Anybody keeping up?

It'll slow down once we catch up to what is already complete. Then we'll go to 2 a week or so. I have scripts up to 60 now and once I return home from where I am I'll begin working on them. So I hope you enjoy the series as much as I do subbing it.

Good job with this classic, btw - up to what episode did you guys finished subbing as of this moment?
Another question: Will you guys sub the Touch movies?

Should I put Spoilers just to discuss each episode?
About up to 28
So this is the second part, Im guessing they will be focusing more on the games/matches which are not my favorite parts. I dont think touch would be the same from now on, I mean the whole thing was about the three of them, but now its just gonna be the two of them wich eventually will confess and go out, then the end.
Im just trying to start a discussion.

Actually, the show continues to have a good mixture or games and drama/humor. And some of the games/matches have lots of plot devices in them. Watch all of it and you'll see. :) Character reactions to what happens in some of the games/matches tells you a lot about them. You'll notice that the animator/director/writers took great pain in making sure we notice what other characters notice.
As long as you don't say what happens in the episode you're probably safe.
It's up to episode 40 now from Central Anime. Anyone here still following Touch? I succumbed to watching a few episodes while impatiently waiting for the Touch DVD-Box to ship and I find myself falling into a full-blown relapse of an extremely bad addiction to Touch :heh:
I got a great big kick watching episode 40.
There are only a few people who understand how brilliant Tacchan truly is - Harada, Nitta (who has been very intrigued by Tacchan previously), and even Nishimura has to admit that he and his team are being made a fool of.
My favourite in this epsiode is when Harada said that Tacchan is more a genius than Kacchan is. Nitta's awed explanation later of what Tacchan did against Nishimura made me grin uncontrollably.
About a month and a half away to the shipping date of the Touch DVD-Box... The wait is killing me

PS: and I hate to be rude, but If you're at Ep. 55 already, why not speed up the releases a little? ;)

Because if I speed it up I'll fall behind and then people will start complaining. Like you just did. I just timed 53-54 on Sunday and I have to edit them which takes a while. And since I work on several series at once I go back and forth between them, hence the staggered releases.

Come on.
I don't think it's reasonable to ask anymore of these guys. Releasing 45 episodes in the span of 3 months is almost unheard of in the anime community. It's really remarkable. :)
Baseball is truly the greatest sport. It's not hard to create a story involving this sport because the games can create so much drama.
Edit: I guess I should have added, "IMHO" to that last paragraph. :heh: It really is just me and my passion for the game.

Love the effort that Central Anime is putting in for this series. This is the only way for me to get my fix of Touch right now. The daily release of episodes earlier was fantastic but sanity has to prevail - the current release of approximately 2 episodes/week is well appreciated :)
FWIW, there's only four more weeks to the release of the Touch DVD-Box. Four more torturous weeks of waiting for the release and add to that a week for shipping to get it to my grubby hands. The wait is killing me :upset:
After getting it, I'm probably going to marathon all 101 episodes within 2 weeks.
Just a question for the Touch audience .. does anyone use usenet anymore ? .. I am considering starting to post to a.b.anime / a.b.m.anime like we used to but don't know if it would help anymore here .. or on the other side kill our torrent seeder base (those of whom we are very thankful .. 2 or 3 of us seeding 16+ gigs wouldn't be practical otherwise)..

how can you call that strange?
she considers herself tat-chan's GF
and because of that... doesnt want him to think badly of her...
she knows no man would want his GF to be seeing someone EVERY day... on a social level... in pratically a private room....
which is why she didnt argue with the pretty boy when he called her tat-chans GF... just to test her, to see how she felt about him

And we all know how committed Minami is to Tac-chan as she has already declared much earlier (episode 24, IIRC) that she wants Tac-chan to fulfill her "ordinary dream" for her :)

I'm only on ep 16 but I could already guess who she really likes. Guess I was right from the post above. I can never stop myself from looking at spoilers. hehe:)
I love this anime. I guess classics really are the best. But thats just my humble opinion.
It seems to me that Tatsuya will do anything for his brother, even make himself look like a loser so his brother would look better. It looks like he's been holding himself back for a long time now. It makes me kind of hate Katsuya just a little even though he didn't do anything wrong. Oh well, on to more touch!

Wait till you watch episode 17 then :) If that does not show you a blatant indicator, nothing will.

That's why some of these shows are classics - it is well loved and is surviving the test of time. FYI, the Touch TV series had one of the highest consistent TV ratings when the series first aired in 1985 to 1987. Not to mention that the manga itself was a major seller for Shounen Sunday earlier on.

Yes, Tatsuya's like that - he will sacrifice his happiness for the happiness of Minami and Kazuya (and in that order ;)). If he can make both Minami and Kazuya happy and it would mean him losing out, he will gladly do so. As you watch the series, you will find the "baka aniki" starts letting slip in showing some of his true colours which he has been hiding so well. There are only 2 characters that know what he could be capable of, Minami and Harada (he's no dumb brute - he's way too observant!).

I just finished ep.26&27.
I can not believe they killed Kacchan off. I am so upset right now. It seems to me like this whole first 27 episodes was just a prelude and now is the begining of the real story. So i guess this series is suppose to be about Minami and Tacchan. Gosh its not going to be the same without him. Anyways, let me go cry some more. :(

Episodes 28 to 54 make up the 2nd part of Touch.
Tacchan is left shouldering the burden of his late brother's promises. He has to step up to the plate, so to speak, but with his lack of confidence, as he told to Minami outside the studyhouse in episode 24, he has a lot to do to build up his self-confidence and self-esteem.
If you have not noticed, you will find that some characters are starting to see his qualities in the 1st 27 episodes. This follows through in part 2 and you will see how a few more characters change their negative opinions of him to positive ones. Even a top high school baseball player comes to see Tacchan for who he is (with a little prompting by Harada) and respects him as a true rival.
FWIW, I have already received my Touch DVD-Box and have been marathoning it. Great stuff.

Great classic anime. The last few episodes in the 4th part of Touch (episodes 80 to 101) were fantastic - namely episodes 91 to 101, what a great finishing batch of episodes, especially the phone call at the end.
FWIW, there's another couple of review/recap episodes at 78 and 79.
Boo on the recap episode! At least they're labelled as such, so it's not too bad. "Recap 1: Memories are too Beautiful," implying that the next episode will be a recap as well (even if Heibi hadn't already told us so). I'll see if I notice the added scene in 56. But does this mean that we get a new OP and ED in 57?
In the meantime, I'll get caught up on Gundam Seed...

While I've been downloading all the episodes, I haven't actually gone past the first arc. I'm waiting till the second arc is done before watching anymore.

Just finished watching 57 and
Kashiwaba is the frickin' man!!! He's a cliche character (his name's <insert name here>, and things will never be the same), but the way they introduce him is just awesome. Also, did anyone notice that Yuka never addresses her love letters? Tatchan could totally fuck with her life by planting one of those in someone else's locker. I can only hope such hilarity will ensue.
Edit: Just finished watching 58 and
Kashiwaba is an asshole. I can understand corporal punishment for violent actions, and while looking at a porno mag isn't quite CP material, I'll allow it because Tatchan had it coming to him. But using it as a blanket "no loafing" policy is obscene.

Wow, simply the best anime. Cant wait for ep 62. One the preview of ep 62 it looks like things are heating up between Nitta and Minami. One question though, why does she keep hanging out with Nitta now all of a sudden? I know she got kicked out of the manager position but come on. If shes so devoted to Tatsuya then she shouldnt feel the need. She should know that Tatsuya doesnt like Yuka but this just seems like insecurity. Also, how come she keeps wanting Tatsuya to do something about that other guy that likes Minami but when Nitta shows up its like "hmm I like Nitta". It just seems like if Tatsuya doesnt do something that she wants she goes running off with Nitta.. I dont get it.

It just seems like if Tatsuya doesnt do something that she wants she goes running off with Nitta.. I dont get it. Yes mate, it also bothers me and with the fact that Tatsuya doesn't does anything Q1. Why does Asakura Minami hang out with Nitta Akio?
Nitta Akio is the only other person outside the group of admirers that understands and symapthises with her. The rest are just mainly fanboys and gawkers. Akio provides a friendly listening ear for her to voice her feelings. His confidence and level-headedness is also used to show the direct contrast with Tatsuya ("Tacchan") and is a surrogate character for:
the deceased twin brother, Kazuya, who has roughly the same kind of character..
Q2. Why does Minami get bothered/annoyed with Nitta Yuki even though she knows that Tacchan does not like Nitta Yuki?
She is a comfortable relationship position with Tacchan and the antics of Yuki is that of an annoying prankster that just intervenes in the relationship. Tacchan generally just ignores Yuki except when she does things in his face.
Q3. How come she keeps wanting Tatsuya to do something about that other guy that likes Minami but when Nitta shows up its like "hmm I like Nitta"?
Because Nishimura is annoying in his mannerisms like a rabid fanboy and tries to force the situation whereas Nitta Akio does not (refer answer to Q1).
Q4. "It just seems like if Tatsuya doesnt do something that she wants she goes running off with Nitta"
Refer answer to Q1.
Q5. Why does Tatsuya not do anything about it?
Tacchan trusts Minami and he is aware that Nitta Akio is interested in Minami. However, his form of fighting this battle is not of engaging in a direct relationship battle with Akio but by fulfilling the request of Minami. Besides, Tacchan does not have the confidence in himself to force the issue... [hint: watch more and you will see]
Overall, Minami is well aware of Tacchan fighting his own battle in the baseball club and that she has left it to him to do so, especially in light of this being their last summer in high school and the last chance to get to the Koshien. She is also pondering about her own achievements instead of just actively supporting the Uesugi twins.

But also, I dont think I would like a girl to go running off with some other guy, pardon this, even tho he kinda had to fight his own brother for the affections for a girl. I would get kinda tired of it. This is my own opinion but it just seems like Minami is being selfish while Tatsuya is going through a personal hell all for her, by which she doesnt seem to appreciate. If I were Tatsuya, I would try to find another reason to go to the Koishien.

By which I mean if you look at the last couple of episodes, she complains to Tatsuya that he isnt doing anything to let her back into the manager positon. Meanwhile, Tatsuya is getting his ass kicked by the new coach and says he will do something later. In this, he tries to get her in if he wins against ...uhh the other pitcher guy. He basically lost but in episode 62, it seems like she just whines to Nitta, instead of talking about it to the...well the person she is SUPPOSED to love. And I know Nitta likes her and if he were to confess to her, then... from what ive seen, she might actually go to like him. These are just my assumptions. I realize its anime but talking to someone else other then the person you like is well.... a sign of a unhealthy relationship which down the road would spell doom.
I realize its anime but talking to someone else other then the person you like is well.... a sign of a unhealthy relationship which down the road would spell doom. There are many paths to the same destination. Your path is one option. However, in the case of Tacchan and Minami, it's different. Pay attention to the characters and you will notice a few things about the both of them.
Tacchan is not a direct person. You are thinking along the lines of a direct person and being direct. For Tacchan, that is not him. It takes a lot for him to open up on his feelings. From the earlier episodes you would have seen him having great difficulty in having heartfelt conversations. What he does, he does it in his own nonchalant style. You will notice another thing by Tacchan by now - he is quite a selfless person and one that is ready to help.
Minami is independent but she is human and does get frustrated at times at the situations. There's no one to take her frustrations out (except the lettuce :D) and she just wants a sounding board she can trust. Minami knows Tacchan well enough to accept that Tacchan is not a person to talk with on matters of the heart - he is downright uncomfortable with it. The only one now in her circle of friends that she can talk to at the moment that she trusts outside of Tacchan is Nitta Akio and he lends a sympathetic ear.
Is it unhealthy? She is ready to wait for him and he is fighting out there to improve himself so that she won't be disappointed in him. When a relationship survives tulmultous times, it becomes stronger. I suggest you watch it play out. Minami really likes, believes in and cares for Tacchan, however Tacchan's internal self-esteem and confidence is so shot at and repressed due to years of letting his brother, Kazuya, shine in the spotlight that it hinders him and hurts Minami (and us too. Watch episode 96 in time).
Currently at episode 84, I must say I love it :D Although I thought episodes 50 to 70 were a tad weak and felt more like fillers. My god what is Yuka annoying, someone should slap her :p
Anyway question regarding the movies, I know movie 4 and 5 are sequels or at least taking place into the future after episode 101. Movie 1 and 2(?) are compilations, but what about movie 3? Is it any good?

Same place as posted above. One of the torrents is a combination of the end of the series and the movies. Launch the torrent and deselect the TV series episodes and you'll download only the movies.
I believe thats what I got, those are two specials. I'm looking for the 3 movies that summarizes the TV series.

There are fansubs of the first 2 movies (and can be found in this link (http://www.zkif.com/) - need to scroll down close to the bottom of the page). The torrent is old enough and may be dead but worth a try. I have not come across any English fansub of the 3rd movie.
Someone started to seed them! Stuck at 98% right now though. Get it while its alive! :D
Would be nice if a group fansubbed movie 3. Wonder if those movies were released on DVD.

It's a shame no one seems to care that a DVD version of Touch has been released by the same group that provided us with a top notch translation some years ago.
Well, it did. :D Thanks to Central Anime, we now have a true DVD-rip worthy of its name (no warp-sharp, as popular it seems to be nowadays...).
The only downside it that they still insist in leaving the video at 29,97fps...

I think it has something to do with decimation - processing every other frame (decimation by 2), processing every other third frame (decimation by 3) or any other decimation value, depending on the animation at cause.
It's funny because I've been trying for a long time to test on my own to learn it. But I'm sure there are users here with a LOT more knowledge on video conversion than me. :p
There can be some gain it quality, as there are less frames to process.
(The mp3 audio also didn't see as good as it should be for 192kbps. I'm saying this because I performed a spectral analysis and there isn't much data above 16 kHz. But this is just me going too technical... :uhoh: and looking for perfection.)
By the way, what was the exact source you used? Did you buy the originals R2 DVD? The japanese did a tremendous remastering work; you can actually see some old painting texture that the TV release wasn't able to show! :D
But it sure made my day to rewatch "in high-definition" Tatsuya in his early mishaps. :heh:

Yep, I bought the R2 DVD box set on my last trip to Tokyo. I still have no idea how to increase the frame rate. Would be nice if the knowledge came in a less technical term. I know computers but not enough to increase the quality. Need a "pilot's" checklist on how to do it. i.e. Written for dummies. I'm a pilot and navigator(USAF) so no insult meant towards pilots.

Either way, thanks again Texas Central-Anime!

Great job guys, although I swore you guys used to have a strict policy of laserdisc sources only.
I personally prefered it that way because it gave fans a reason to upgrade and purchase the series on dvd if licensed.
This is one of the reasons why I stuck to LD's for Spt Layzner, don't want to compete against the remastered dvd sales in Japan but then I have more of a traditional mentality.
Problem these days is there are no new LDs coming out. Our policy was actually no video tape usage(i.e. using a video tape to actually time and sub the show). Also, the process of capturing an LD takes up time and space on my PC. I also wanted to correct the picture quality problem we had with the Touch LDs. We had to constantly monitor the differences in each Touch LD. Brightness and colors varied from LD to LD.

I watched the subbed versions a while back and it quickly became my favorite show ever, and now with these new and improved subs, I am happy to be watching it all over again. It is an amazing show and I truly appreciate the efforts of those who help to make it available to watch.
Is the anime much better than the manga?
I liked touch, but when it comes to Adachi's stuff, I liked Miyuki and H2 a lot more than touch.

Since C-A is giving us a second chance to rewatch and discuss all over again this anime, why don't we just do that?
Episodes 5 and 6 were released last week.
we had that disastrous intervention of Tatsuya on the schools games, that was mainly the focus of the episode.
On a side note, one thing that always had pissed me off on Touch, were the twins parents, how can they be so over supportive for Kazuya and not supporters at all for Tatsuya, they are both their sons afterall.
we had Kazuya and Minami's sort of unnoficial date. It's curious to notice here how Tatsuya unaware of Minami's love forces Minami and Kazuya to be together while Kazuya also notices, probably, that Minami has a liking on Tatsuya, even though he got quite unhappy on minami's statement that they were "just childhood friends".
I don't remember if I spotted the signs of Minami more than four years ago when I first watched the series, but they are clearly evident.

You forget to take into account that over the years, Tatsuya has been the delinquent in comparison with Kazuya. Kazuya's efforts are there for all to see - he is the model son to them. Over time, their parents have pinned their hopes and dreams on the hardworking on-the-path-to-success Kazuya instead of the goof-off laze-about Tatsuya.

Yup, you can actually start seeing some hints in the previous episodes. Episode 7 makes it very obvious whom she prefers. A certain scene in Episode 17 seals it. If you still have any doubts, what she says in Episode 24 puts it all beyond doubt. While she wants Kazuya to fulfil her dream of going to Koshien, she only wants Tatsuya to fulfil a simple teenage girl's dream for her.

I'd say Touch anime is about as good as the manga, for better or for worse.
When it comes to anime I prefer Miyuki and Hiatari Ryouko! over this one; as for his manga, I'd have to vouch for Miyuki, H2, and Rough.
Still, you might find Touch enjoyable as long as Tatsuya and Minami don't turn you off.

I can understand that statement. One has to be pretty patient with those two, but what makes touch anime (I haven't finished the manga yet) is that you wait all that time and in the end you get nothing, they just keep the same relation.

The best part of the series IMO. Completely changed the mood of the anime.
I just finished watching this series, and I can say that I am throughly impressed. The series is at its best as a character interaction oriented series, and it has pretty decent character development dynamics, which together makes it a very strong series in the characters department. However, I think that the story had problems defining itself at times.
Specially during episodes 51-70, at times I got the feeling that the series kind of lost a sense of direction. Later you realize that rather than losing its compass its just that the series left the plot in the backburner and took its time to give the character dynamics some workout, only to enter episode 85+ with a plotfest fever, and finish up with a more or less satisfying, but nevertheless rushed ending. Was I the only one that thought that the series was just one inch from ruining the whole thing with that last episode? :heh:
In any case, this is a series that I liked a lot, though I cannot say that it is one of those masterpieces that I can recommend to everyone. As others have noted, you have to empathize with the (excruciatingly slow) Tatsuya-Minami dynamics. In my case I didn't have much problems, but even I with all the patience I have for these things I fonud myself rolling my eyes back just at seeing how wishy washy the characters can be at times.
Talking about interesting characters, I have to take my hat off to the demon coach. I often take pride in my abiblity to analyze and decompose literary models and characters, however the guy remained almost a complete mistery to me till the last 4 or 5 episodes. The guy was almost impossible to read for me. I found it a little frustrating at first, but later it turned out to be incredibly fun.
And the disappointment award goes to Harada. The guy started as a very interesting, and refreshing character, but the guy devolved into a complete plot device by the end of the series. He just appeared on scene to push Tatsuya or Minami in the right direction, and any development he had as a character disappeared by the middle of the series.
The animation and OST is top notch for its time, so if you get into hte mindset that it is a 80's series you will have a great time. In fact, in the technical area I don't have a single complain. Kudos to the anime producers in that respect.
Overall: 8.8, rounded to 9. Excellent and memorable series.
In any case, after seeing this and the currently ongoing Cross Game I got interested into Adachi's works. Before plungung myself into his manga works, I wanted to ask if there is any other good anime adaptation of one of his series? I've heard that H2's isn't all that good so maybe I'll pass on that, but how about others, like Miyuki? That and, which are his best manga works, so I can start with those? I have heard high praise with Rough, but I wanted to ask if there were any others.
Although I disagree in that this is one of those series that I personally recommend to everyone, I do agree that I found the ending to be slightly lacking and fell short of being completely satisfying ala Maison Ikkoku. Actually I personally thought that the duo was relatively free of melodrama and more straightforward with each other than typical anime, eg, when Minami finds out Tatsuya was forced into a "date" with Nitta's sister, rather than get jealous like every other female anime lead, she just teases him about it. On the whole I thought they were refreshingly direct for most of the series.
I also agree that the direction of the series changes quite a bit, but I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing, just realistic - changing from quieter training seasons to Koshien tournament, etc. I do think it could upset viewers who started the series, saw a high school romantic comedy in the first couple of episodes, and then were treated to a baseball drama during some of the later episodes.
Kashiwaba is a character I enjoyed. To the very end he refrains from being sentimentalized too much, which takes a lot of restraint. The scene at the end at the hospital is one of my favourites.
I suppose that I agree with Harada, another character I liked. I found the turning over of the "dumb bully" character refreshing but he kind of faded off towards the end.
Plan to watch the sequel movies? I reviewed them here. (http://omohide.com/1035/touch-sequel-movies-review-miss-lonely-yesterday-and-cross-roads/) If you do, my advice is to skip MLY, I thought it was horrible.
Yeah, I have read the reviews on your blog, in fact it was your non spoiler review which convinced me to watch Touch in the first place. Kudos for that :)
In fact I found the first season (25 episodes or so) to be the weakest by far of the series. I guess I found 24-50 to be the best, followed by the third season.
The scene at the end where Tatsuya gives him the baseball is one of my favourites.
My personal favorite was when the original coach recognized him by who he was. Literally took me by surprise, and a good one at that.
Touch is a classic. As such, it kind of defies my better judgment, in terms of actually rating it - I can say, however, that the live-action movie was very cute, even if it obviously condensed way too much story into less than two hours.
However, I find it easy to say it's not my personal favorite work from Adachi-sensei.
You mentioned Rough, Proto. That would be my personal favorite. I even liked the movie.
As for other manga works of his, I loved H2 (the anime kinda sucks, tho), Katsu!, Short Program and Adventure Boys. But there are a lot of other stuff to read (and, obviously, the ongoing Cross Game and Q & A rank highly on that list). :D
Thanks for the recommendations. However, I'd love to see if there were any other anime works of his that you would recommend. Personally, I'm more of a sound oriented person so I love my VA'ing and OST's. :p Which is not to say that I won't read a manga, but if there is a good anime alternative I'd take it.
Well, you could try the Slow Steps anime, then. It's actually quite fun and short.

The Miyuki anime is very cute too with the incredible voice of Miyuki Wakamatsu. Hiyatari Ryoukou is very good too. The bad thing, is that both shows doesn't have complete english tranlations.
Too bad you don't enjoy manga, the magic of Adachi is mainly portrayed on his mangas.
And H2 anime isn't as bad as they say. The characters design differs just a tiny bit and it doesn't have an ending, just that.
My main problem with H2 anime was exactly not having an ending, actually. The character designs I could live with.
Too bad you don't enjoy manga, the magic of Adachi is mainly portraying in his mangas.
Gee, I do enjoy reading manga, just not on the same level. And if the main problem with H2 is the ending I can just jump to the manga when the time comes I guess. In any case, thanks for the recommendations on both fronts, I'll get started.

When we first started to release via the internet we used a straight out of the Amiga super-genlock into the PC. The video quality was messed up and we tried to make it look good. But there are limits. Now that I have the ability to use the DVDs instead of LD(that box is heavy-especially when you have to carry it out of Akiba on the train and to your hotel) I can make the quality so much higher.

Thanks a bunch. I'm going to leech the new episodes now. :p
Okay, I need some help from Touch fans. I am watching Cross Game and just finished H2 (which I should have known wouldn't have a decent ending considering the manga is 34 volumes and the show was 41 episodes). So while I read H2 to figure out what actually happened, I thought I would start watching Touch.
My question is in regards to the movies. I see there are five. Do these have to do with the plot or are they extra side-stories? Also, when should they be viewed during watching the series? The asuki page says "Do not watch Movie 1 until after you have watched at least eps 35 to 40 otherwise it will spoil the story. For Movie 2 you need to watch even further! " but that doesn't really help for figuring out when to watch movies besides movie 1, and even that's not particularly specific. Thanks for any light that you can shed on this matter.
Edit: Also, my apologies if this has been asked and answered before, but I didn't want to look through the thread and risk spoilers.
Sebangou no Nai Ace, Sayonara no Okurimono, and Kimi ga Toorisugita Ato Ni are recap movies. They offer nothing much of note if you've seen the series, but have a few different scenes in them, if you absolutely must see all Touch material.
Touch: Miss Lonely Yesterday is a sequel taking place after the television show. However, be warned, it is horrible (imo), and I wish it didn't exist.
Touch: Cross Roads takes place after MLY. It's not bad.
Thanks for the info, Theowne.

I did not mind MLY. It addressed Tatsuya's lingering doubts about himself being happy while his dead brother got the short end of the stick and how he never got to properly compete with Katsuya for Minami.
Anyway if you are an 80s anime junkie you would want to watch one of the movie adaptations of the anime (forgot which one) as it shows up in Kimagure Orange Road :p
My issues with MLY was:
I felt like it was just rehashing emotional conflicts that had already been covered in the anime. The whole storyline just seemed to make light of all the development they had gone through in the anime. I just never believed it for a second.
