What to choose, what to choose...
"More Rosa Gigantea ?" ^^
"The new students! Denpa vs Drill" ?
or "More Sachiko and Yumi" ^____^
They all seem more interesting than the others...
Definitely Rainy Blue... which I doubt we'll get to if we only get a 13 ep season. Otherwise Noriko/Shimako's Cherry Blossom.
As for Rosa Gigantea, do you mean the departing Rosa Gigantea, or the soon-to-be Rosa Gigantea? ;)
BTW, does anyone have definitive news as to whether this will be a 13 or 26 ep season?
Edited to add: There's been public announcements regarding Noriko & Touko in the new season but not for Denpa as far as I know. So has there even been any indication that Denpa will show up this season or has it all been just fan speculation/wishful thinking?

They can still do Rainy Blue with 13 episodes. They can probably conclude the graduation arc by episode 4 and leave plenty of episodes for Cherry Blossom and Rainy Blue/Parasol wo sashite arc.

Denpa didn't appear in the OP so I doubt she will show up at all this season.
Maybe that means a 3rd season! (wishful thinking ;))

Won't going through the 2 book Graduation arc in 2 episodes be very rushed? (Or 3 eps if you count Rosa Foetida's side story) I was hoping that they'll do the Sei/Shimako first meeting story as well...
If your prediction prove to be correct and the series does in fact reach the Rainy Blue/Parasol arc, then I *very much* hope that it'll be paced so that they'll finish the whole arc rather than leave the audience hanging for the conclusion (in a possible) next season. :(

Or a movie ? :thinker:
(yes, yes, no chance at all...)

I wish I knew, too...
Nobody know ? (please ? )

I certainly hope they don't just stop at the end of Rainy Blue this season. That will cause a huge riot among fans. Heh.
I would love to see more episodes on the graduation arc but based on the pace from last season it's very possible they will speed through most of the story.
My guess is there will be a separate episode on the first encounter of Sei and Shimako. Not sure if they will put it before Cherry Blossom or after since either way works IMO.

Of the three story arcs that this season will likely cover, I do think that the Graduation arc is the most expendable. I'd hate to see them rush Cherry Blossom or Rainy Blue/Parasol like this, so sacrificing the Graduation arc is likely the best compromise.

It's a very good prelude/foreshadowing for the Noriko/Shimako meeting and I think adds an interesting nuance and extra dimension to that meeting.

I just remembered there is another side story in the novel about how Youko, Sei and Eriko met. I wonder if they are going to animate that as well. If so, that would be another episode....

I agree with you. I think anime-wise it's better to put it before Cherry Blossom. In the novel you can always go back and forth but it may not work well with anime.

I voted Rosa graduation. *sigh*
Awww....everyone seems to be looking forward to Denpa, and she wont even be showing up. :(
Will Canina really be in the series again? :)
Will Canina really be in the series again? :)Well, I don't know about the anime series, but I know Shizuka had a cameo in Volume 17 of the novel when Yumi, Yoshino & Shimako went to Italy...

I think, we should one more option here:
Rainy Blue
and change "New students! Drill vs Denpa" to just "New First Grade Students"
Agree?

Sounds good. You might want to be specific with the "New First Grade Students" option and specify Noriko/Touko. Too bad I've already voted... (voted Sachiko/Yumi since Rainy Blue wasn't up as an option)

Can any Admin help to me change:
(1) Option "New Students! Denpa vs Drill" to "New First Grade Students"
(2) Option "Rosa Kanina" to "Rainy Blue"?
Thanks

It seems that Denpa and Drill (Oh gosh, I love these nick names) will appear in the spring season, even only for one or two episodes.
Look at TV Tokyo site, here for those who have forgotten how to type using keyboard (http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/anime/mariasama_haru/) . Select on Character.

So, We only have Drill, well better than nothing.
By the way, I could not resist reading the spoiler of Episode 3 in TV-Tokyo site. I can anticipate that Episode 4 will be the Graduation Ceremony story.

So there are two types of marimite fans:
- Those who like shoujo-ai anime.
- Those who have been shouting "more yuri! more yuri!" all the time.

Ep.3 is already part of the graduation arc. In ep.4 we probably will see the famous scene of Sei and Yumi. ;)

LOL I guess that's true for the most part... but there can also be fans like me, who just plain like the characters and the way they interact! :) I mean, shoujo-ai or not, I really enjoy all the character development (because that's pretty much what this whole series is).
And would someone be kind enough to explain the origin of the "Denpa" nickname? I get the "Drill" thing with Touko (Heheheh), but I don't know what "Denpa" means. :heh:

One thing to note is that Touko never has a nickname "Drill," nor does Kanako have a nickname called "Denpa" in the novel - and assume they won't be used in the anime as well. These two were thought up by fans of Marimite as a description of the two characters
Haha, ahh, I get it now...
Thanks for clearing that up, kj1980 -- much appreciated! :)

As of the latest Volume neither Yumi nor Yoshino have chosen their soeurs. Touko and Kanako are thought by fans to be the top 'candidates' (Noriko is already with Shimako, Shouko is interested in Tsutako, and there aren't many other major new first years), but both of them have indicated they've no desire to be chosen by Yumi. For now...
Aaaah, pardon me for being ignorant but what is the Rainy Blue Arc you've been talking about? (sounds depressing O_o)

The "Rainy Blue" arc is actually consisted of two volumes of the novel: "Rainy Blue" and "Parasol o Sashite"
The "Rainy Blue" novel is mainly divided into three parts:
A. Shimako chooses Noriko as her petit soeur
B. Yoshino joins the kendo club against Rei's overprotective wishes
C. Yumi and Sachiko's soeur relationship in crisis (Touko is "taking" Sachiko-sama away from Yumi)
"Parasol o Sashite" is an antithesis to "Rainy Blue," in which
A. Yumi and Sachiko's relationship is reinforced once again from this crisis, and stronger
B. Yumi "grows up" on her dependence on Sachiko, and you see her starting to bloom as the "Rosa Chinensis en bouton"

No one has even licensed the anime version of the series yet. Besides, if someone was going to spend a ton of money translating books to English, I'd think they'd go for something like Legend of Galactic Heroes or Juuni Kokki first, both of which have better books sales than Maria-sama ga Miteru.
However, I would expect to see both Rainy Blue and Parasol o Sashite covered by the anime series this season. They will probably use the last couple episodes to show Yumi and Sachiko resolving their problems in their relationship, just like last season. Of course this still leaves a lot of book material shrouded in mystery for English-speaking fans, but I have every reason to expect a third season eventually, seeing how Marimite is a reasonably popular and profitable show in Japan. It's no Gundam, but it still draws in fans well.

So we wont see in 2nd or 3rd season Yumi choosing a petite soeur ?
I was really looking foward to that.
If there is a third season yes.
Agreeable, it would be nice if they followed the anime thorugh until the graduation of Yumi, Yoshino and Shimako. (I really want to see Yumi as Rosa Chinesis^^)

What i want to see too is how Yumi will handle having other student "worship" her.
I wonder if she will get use to that.
Yumi: "MUAHAHAHHAHAAAA!!! Dance my puppets! DAAAANCE!!"
No? :p

No one is Yumi's petit soeur in the novels either, so even if there is a third season, it'll be unlikely they will even get to that - more likely if there was a third season, they'll go to "Ciao, Sorella!" where the second-year students go to Italy for their school field trip.
There are only "suspected candidates" - Kanako or Touko. Also, Yoshino's hunt for her own petit soeur continues as she made a bet with Eriko-sama. However, as of the latest novel, not even a hint of who is going to be Yoshino's soeur has been made.

The novel hasn't even gone that far yet. The last novel was about the second-year students going on a school field trip to Italy.

I'm going to have to say I am a bit disappointed by season two's lack of any focus upon Yoshino and Rei. I enjoy both characters very much, as well as their unique relationship being both cousins and soeurs. I feel they have been neglected during this season so far, Rei in particular, and hope at least one of the episodes remaining in this season will give them some time alone on the screen.

So long as they go to the "Rainy Blue" arc, there should be one episode about Yoshino joining the kendo-club against Rei's wishes. We'll probably see Tanuma Chisato once again.
I am making the presumption that this season will go to "Rainy Blue" and "Parasol o Sashite" because in the latest mook/novel "Maria-sama ga Miteru Vol. 18 Premium Book," there is one manga short done by Hibiki Reine who visited the aft-recording session for Maria-sama ga Miteru Episode 24 (Maria-sama ga Miteru~Haru~ Episode 10) which was titled "Rainy Blue."

I have a feeling Yumi's soeur is going to be Shouko
The author tends to lead you in certain directions then completely takes a different turn nearing the end.
It's a remote possibility, but I'd prefer (as most fans do too) that Shouko to become Tsutako-san's soeur, as "Chocolat and Portrait" was a great story.
I highly doubt that this season will even get to that episode.
"Chocolat and Portrait" was a short story in the novel "Maria-sama ga Miteru Vol. 16 Variety Gift." It is a side-story of the Valentine's Day event (Vol. 7 in the novel, Episode 7 in the first season of the anime). A third-year Lillian Middle School student named Naitou Shouko and her friends snuck into Lillian High School to participate in the Valentine's Day event. As Shouko wanders around the high school grounds, she meets Tsutako-san...
Since this a new student year, Shouko should be a member of the new first year students at Lillian High School...
