Kanon (romance and a bit depressing too)
Saishuuheiki Kanojo (saikano) : not completely like KGNE but it is romantic (and really depressing) story in background of war

Ok Kanon is good I'll agree with you on that. But depressing? In the end it has like one of the happiest endings ever. While the road getting there might be a bit shaky I would say that in the end Kanon is one of the more uplifting anime I've ever seen.

Now Saikano. That one really gets you down. It's good but don't watch it.

I agree, both Kanon and Saikano have their moments of complete sadness. I actually cried in Kanon epiosde 10 lol. And in Saikano, it was the first time I desperately wanted a character to die and the anime to end cause I couldn't take no more lol.


I think both are excellent choices.
