This board is a little dead, and I guess no one's a real FMP! fan, but I caught this on a fansite's (http://www.abstratica.org/anime/fmp/fmp.html) message board :
The August 2004 issue of Dragon Magazine (on sale today - that's the Japanese magazine containing text stories, not the US magazine about role-playing games) states that the September 2004 issue (on sale 30 July 2004) will contain a big announcement about Full Metal Panic.

!!! My prayers have been answered!! Season 3, here I come!! (I'm missing the great old-school AS action-- bring it back!!) And if ADV dares license it before it comes out, I will personally rush the offices brandishing multiple pointed objects... :heh; j/k, I'm practicing for July 30th if it is indeed a season 3.
Well, whatever it is, it looks like great fun. I'm an FMP fan through and through, and though nothing necessarily points to a season 3, it looks like good news either way (I can't imagine FMP becoming a game, but I wouldn't mind that all the same).

in deed there's rumor for a third season and maybe even a fourth or fifth season for FMP continuing the story in the novels. I like this series, more is better ;)

Honto!?! even a 4th or 5th? Wow, looks like good news is on the way. Btw, dreamless, is that Tsukihime pic actually from the game? Heh. It's kinda like a homage to ur old avy lol. Except for the blood, Yumizuka actually looks kinda cute in it...

I think it's a safe bet that FMP season 3 will get a license pretty fast. But I'd love to see how the story evolves, I didn't get that far yet in the manga. I hope theri will be bit more romance development going on between Chidori and Sousuke :p

So far there's been nothing but rumors flying around... I googled with the appropriate terms in Japanese (Dragon Magazine, Announcement, the September issue, and such) and turned up nothing but BBS talks of the "announcement" and how it could mean a third season, or, a movie! I'm not trusting anything anybody says until after the September issue (out on 7/30/2004) of the Dragon Magazine gets released...

All this talk and speculation about a new season makes me excited... the series is nice and very entertaining... the down part is that if all the speculation and talk are bs... I'm gonna snap... :(

oh COME ON. TELL ME YOU'RE SERIOUS. The novel has ALREADY been translated, damn it! :P And I've already promoted it in this board on another thread. Gyaaa~!!
The novel series consists of both "light" chapters (comedic episodes) and the "serious" chapters (the main story arc). Translation has already been done for the main story arc that occurs after the FMP season 1. That novel is called "The End of Day by Day".

Are the novels worth the read? I've been curious about those novels and read arias' post on another thread commenting about it... but I'm hesitant on reading it cuz I dislike e-books... I'm hoping that the rumored new series is gonna cover it ... cuz I'd much rather see the characters on screen and animated as opposed to imagining them in my mind...

If you've read my other comment, you should've read the extract of the FMP novel that I put there. Isn't it tantalising? :D ... At least it was to me, that's why I chose that part. Regardless, I think the novel IS worth the read. I'm no FMP obsessed fan, but I'm a Sousuke-Chidori fan :) I can honestly say that the translation is really good, and the "novel" is only really light reading.
And right, you might do well to wait for the next animated series, but keep in mind at the same time that the novel covers details that are missing in the animation. For example, Sousuke is not the only agent sent by Mythril to protect Chidori; there's also the agent "Wraith". Oh well. You can always try.

Jinkies...another season or 2 or 3...WOOHOO!!! I'm not sure if I should read the manga and spoil the animation or just wait for the animation to come out. Grrr....decisions..... I wonder what type of villian will come out if it's like the 1st season. I guess if they go the usual pattern it will be serious then come out with something humorous.
