Best episode ever. Nina sexy fan service is good. I'd hit on her enough times with such force as to make it considered abuse.
Then the dancing midget comes along for some big laughs.

Oh yea, then there were some minor filler stuff :) .

Geez, Johan the next Hitler!?! That part just blew me away. When Professor Goderich says that Johan is doing one of the "three points," which one was it? Seizing the military?

Then Tenma pulls off a Yugo and gets tied and beat up... Can't wait to see how he gets out of that one.

Can't think straight for now, too blinded by Monster's glorious light of genius :eyespin:

This anime is pure genius! The story line is just excellent. I love it when the story is placed in important historical events. To relate this anime with the Nazis and the controversy of the fall of the Berlin wall is just a perfect scenario to tell a rich an entertaining story.

I thought that this anime was only going to be based on a chase like The Fugitive, but I was wrong; there is much more to the story line than we all thought.

I guess the title of the series "Monster" is very meaningful.

Man this story is just sooo good.

TWIN PEAKS DANCING MIDGET!!! ;) Seriously, midget guy reminded me of the twin peaks one. Except he didn't speak backwards.

I was missing Nina, I'm glad she popped back in this episode though. Plus the whole storyline was kicked up a notch, this baby guy thinks Johan can be the next Hitler for Germany... Wow. So the whole program in the orphanage was probably by those with Nazi-asperations who wished to create a strong leader for a new Germany.

I also loved the interaction between Dieter and the burglar guy... lol

Wow, I never thought of that! Very nice prediction there.

I like this new twist, where they throw in Nazi's...
Kinda reminds me of "The Sum of All Fears"... modern day Nazi's trying to create the Fourth Reich.

Yea, that was odd.
Since the right wing guys already know so much about Tenma and Johan, wouldn't they know that he saved his life? But then again from the tone of things, they probably haven't met Johan again after he left East Germany so wouldn't know how he felt about Tenma.

Professor Gotterich's VA seems to be the same one as Big Daddy from Gungrave.

I don't know if this needs a spoiler but:

I wonder how those right wing Germans would feel when they realize that Nina and Johan are both form Czechoslovakia?

Memory's fuzzy, forgot about that one, which episode was it mentioned?

Blah, wouldn't they already know though?

But anyways..
Are they ethnically from Czechoslaovakia?
Johan and Nina look of Aryan descent with blue eyes and blond hair, and I thought the Nazi's were more accepting of other Aryans or something. Someone probably knows these things better...

Thats no problem for those (historically meaning) because the "Aryan Race" go through Germany, Czech, Austria, Poland and Scandinavia. An another point it is if the twins come from slovakia.

Yup... basically, the Nazi's think all that land belongs to them. And, I guess they hope that Johan will re-claim it back... the 2nd Hitler...

I think its interesting how even though Tenma gave up being a doctor... he's still trying to save lives... but now, in order to save countless lives, he must kill Johan...

Franz Bonaparta (or any of his aliases), and most of the member of the project that lead to the birth and eventual construction of Johan are all ethnically German, including both parents.

It's a nice interesting twist to the series, and as far as episode progression go it's brilliant to get something which is so well paced. We've gone from a genius doctor, a broken relationship, to a manhunt for a framed murder, being hunted by a cop and his ex-fiancee, to getting involved in a bizarre Aryan plot to create a new evil. Brilliant.

I like this episode, but I was a little let down by the introduction of the nazi theory... I dont know, maybe I consider the subjet to have been tried too many times?, any way that "baby" dancing was the most hilarious and at the same time scary things Ive seen :heh: thats a character thats almost as scary as Karras (from Thief II, great game ^_^)

I think that probably Johan is not that interested in the nazi thing, as has been pointed out many times, he just enjoys and is facinated by human fear, and he is so intelligent that I doubt he will let someone handle him.

Both Nina and Johann were picked up on the *German* side of the Czech Border. Remember, they were on the run ... I'm not too sure what *exactly* they were running from (explanations are a little shady), but regarding crossing borders: even within the Eastern Block it wasn't that easy; just remember, you had to have visas to enter another country. I guess their parents abandoned them in the process of trying to enter Czechoslovakia meaning to cross the border to Western Germany/Austria which wasn't as heavily guarded.
Left them behind willingly? Since only Hollywood would picture Germans in such a dire light (and most of the world is tending to believe the crap HW tells them), I would still believe they were split up without intention. Otherwise, we'd have another Hänsel&Gretel story.

Just as a reminder: ppl usually don't leave their children behind. That goes for South Africa, Indian (turbans), Indian (feathers), Mexico, North Ameri..., sorry, Korea, and yes, North America. Germans usually do that neither. No, parents don't abandon their children whatever there comes. I hope we get told a reason why this happened.
