I borrowed from my friend the DVD's of Ghost in the shell, the stand alone complex and i just like the opening, but i would like to know what is the other language than english in that music.

Sorry to have created an other unuseful thread.

A lot of the song is in russian, I think the same goes for Origa's "Rise" on the second season and some of her other songs.

Actually I thought Aerias Gloris might be Latin? Since the English-translated lyrics on OP sequence of episode 1 and 3 prints "Aerias Gloris" instead of a translation like the Russian parts in the same sequence.

And I agree--the song is awesome.

And while we're on the subject of GitS:SAC music--I just can't get enough of "yakitori" by Kanno Youko--It's really something...

Also, the DVD is well worth the money--buy it at 25-ish Dollars in stores or 18-20 Dollars online :)

It means something like "Air of Glory"...

A little late into the topic, but I was wondering the same thing myself. So I looked in the booklet with the soundtrack cd and saw that the lyrics were written in cyrillic, so I asumed it was Russian, and since "Aeria Gloris" sounded Latin it probably was.

If you are going to buy the GTS SAC, the special edition isn't a bad way to go as it includes the soundtrack cd.

Of course I see that it is about $25 over the regular edition, so it's really not that much difference than the buying them seperate. But I had preordered mine, so I got the special edition for the same price as the standard.

Well, it seems I appeared here two years too late xD But - Area Gloris means something like: 'Glory be to the space'. And yes, it's Latin.

Don't argue, please - it IS Russian :-D
The main difficulty in translation is caused by using Rus, Eng and Jap languages in almost each sentense :(
