View Full Version : Kanji Reader needed !!!!!!
I'am currently looking for a kanji reader. None of my translators or myself are too fond of kanji and the only two people whom could read it in our group are now on vacation and won't be back for until september. If anyone can help us out then please send me a pm. I would simply send you a Pm with a few screen shots of various signs and ask you to just translate them. I wouldn't ask if I didn't need to however I hate all the morons complaining about our bad signs so I'am trying to do something about it now.

If your translators can't translate kanji then they are not very good translators :(

1. Open up Notepad
2. Activate Japanese IME. (If you don't know how to do this then give up - you are too dumb to proceed any further)
3. Activate "handwriting mode" in Japanese IME.
4. Attempt to draw the kanji in the area provided.
5. Select the correct kanji out of the computer's possible guesses. The IME presents you with limited info about this kanji. If you can make heads or tails out of it, stop here. Otherwise go to step 6.
6. Copy this kanji
7. Go to http://www.kanji-a-day.com
8. Paste this kanji into their kanji dictionary.
9. Voila! You now know what the kanji is.
Alternately, http://dict.pspinc.com has kanji idioms in their dictionary such as 三拝九拝 so if you need to look up a multiple kanji idiom, use that.
These instructions seriously work, but I agree with Tofu here. If they can't be bothered to look up unknown kanji then they're not really good. ^^;

Expect criticism when you put your work out in the public. Yes, even when you're doing this for free and out of good intention. However, I can probably help you out or you can just do what GipFace suggested.
A translator came back from vacation yesterday so I had him translate the sign. LOL...ouch...burned.
