this thread is for you to post titles of animes that are never been picked up by fansub groups
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
for starters:
Kaiketsu Zorori
Kinnikuman
The Marshmellow Times
Kyoro-chan
Captain Future
::can think of about 500 other titles...just go buy the Anime Encyclopedia::

Shows like Kaiketsu Zorori aren't meant for people over like, 7. I guess if you watch Nick Jr., you'd enjoy these types of shows... :/
clem-kun

And I believe it's "Marshmallow", not "Marshmellow". :/
Many of these are "abandoned" because of lack of raws and interest in the anime...

For the new stuff... at least most of it's usually disposable crap for the 5-year-olds. I do secretly wish for subtitled Yu-Gi-Oh! though (but I'll never tell anyone).

Why wish? DVDs will start coming out in the next few months of this--subtitled, and uncut.

Yeah I know... although they will be unbelievably far behind.

Not to dis you, Soulfang, but young-audience anime does have its value if you're learning to speak Japanese. Even though the plots might not be engaging to most adult minds, it's often very helpful for picking up the oft-unexplained meanings of certain words or phrases that a mature japanese audience take for granted. After all, English speaking folks didn't pick up their first few years watching crime shows and soap operas. :)
I wish Captain Tsubasa was fansubbed. IT will never get lisenced in the US due to the lack of interest in soccer. The job infusion did on 1-11 was amazing tho.

There is also "Kinnikuman" this was NEVER been licensed
this is (pre- Ultimate Muscle)
and "Kyatto Ninden Teyande" it was licensed by Saban but, Disney took it over and ditched KNT from Saban so it's now Not Licensed once more
and still waiting for a good fansubber to sub this forgotten anime

Ah, captain future. What childhood memories....
It has the BEST opening theme ever...
There were even popular techno remixes of it a few years ago here in germany...

I sometimes bawl my eyes out because no one has subbed this.
I believe a tape subber was doing this at one point, because I saw a couple very very bad quality RMs of what appeared to be a tape rip.
I saw enough to love it :\
Personally, I've been really itching to do the re-done Dr. Slump series which aired in 1997 (usually referred to by the Japanese people as Dr.スランプ(新) ), but lack of proper raws has made the idea infeasible. If anybody actually knows where to get some decent-quality raws with no hardsubs and Japanese audio, I'd like to hear about it.

The golf series was called Dan Doh, and it's licensed by Bandai.

No it's "Kinnikuman Nisei" (2nd) and not "Kinnikuman" on Foxbox. The original Kinnikuman anime is 20 years old.

I was soooo curious about Kakyusei's tv anime, but no one ever seemed interested in it, guess why... It seems cute... Let's hope the upcoming new sequel has better luck (and maybe point the attention on the original old one! :) )

I can now confirm that there are DVDs out in Germany of this new dr slump series, well, only one is out for now.

Actually, 4Kids may hold the liscencing for it. I'm not 100% on the details but so far, I'm going on what one of the voice actors said.
Wow.
That's... actually rather interesting.
Time for me to dig out my German contacts...
edit: according to "some guy who can read more German than I do and is more reliable than Babelfish whose nickalert is set off by the word 'steamship'", it's the first four episodes spliced together into some kind of movie. Huh.
Damn. So close, yet so far...

EXCUSE ME
but, Ultimate Muscle isn't the ORIGINAL Kinnikuman
Ultimate Muscle is "Kinnikuman II" aka "Kinnikuman Nisei"
in short 4kids licensed this version of "Kinnikuman" not the original
http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/tv/niku/
so technically.... the original KINNIKUMAN is still Unlicensed

two of my favorite animes....
Gosh, I wish someone would sub and release these. Fox totally stinks. *burns Fox* I know Saban technically owns Mon Colle Knights...or do they?
*Gabriolus forever!!*
I'm still waiting for someone to sub the Angelique OVA series. T_T The Angelique series has been popular for over 10 years, and it's still running. OVAs have been released regularly since 2001 (I think?).
It has an all-star voice cast and great animation (I saw the name "GAINAX" in the closing credits for the newest OVA :P It was the only thing in English writing. They're a famous animation group, right?).
The latest OVA was released July 2004 (part 2 of 3). The 3rd part should be out soon. <3 You can learn more at the official website: http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/media/ova/angelique/index.htm
I'll keep trying to get it subbed by SOMEONE. T_T (yes, I have all the raws)

Two series I'd love to see fansubbed are Little Memole and My Daddy Long Legs. They're both pretty old; I hope someone picks them up before they're forgotten about forever. A movie version of Little Memole was actually lisenced by Just for Kids in 1991 and they released a kids' movie retitled Wee Wendy. But, I'm assuming that since they lisenced the MOVIE, and because the company doesn't exist anymore, it would be okay to fansub the series.
Is there any way to make suggestions to fansubbers about this sort of thing? They seem to have a sort of just-download-your-anime-and-don't-complain-or-recommend-or-ask-when-episodes-will-be-out attitude.

Public IRC channel or individual forum for that group. And if you go in with some preconceived notion, you'll probably get ignored or banned.

Daddy Long-Legs was released on R-3 DVDs with english subs, by PIM Group. You can buy them from Yes Asia for a decent price:

Awesome....! Except I don't have a R3 player. :\
EDIT: Coolio. I just discovered that there's a hack for my DVD player, involving only the pressing of a few buttons, which will make it region-free. Yay! Of course, the only way to try it out will be to put a region 2/3 DVD in it and I won't know until I've spent money on an import that might not work, but I'm willing to do that since I really want to see this series.

Heh, thanks, but I'm not an idiot. Not like I'm going to go in there and call them stuck-up and demand that they listen to me.

Er, if that's your site in your profile, most of the subs you're working on/planning on working on are already licensed. Don't really understand why someone would want to fansub something like Trigun, since it's already available and, um, will get you in trouble. I may be wrong, though-- Trigun doesn't have a link, so I hope you're not planning on subbing it (and isn't Brain Powered lisenced/released too?).

It looks as he doesn't have a fansubbing group, but a "ripping" group (a group that pirates commercial DVDs and converts them to video files).

Also that you forgot to meantion that Samurai Pizza Cats is also licensed by Buena Vista and has been for over 2 years. It really bites that they are not planning to release it on DVD.
All the Angelique OAVs would be great. I'm surprised nobody's picked them up..I even have some of the raws.
Other than that..I'm not really certain on the license status of an old classic called Ningyo Hime Mariina no Bouken. It aired in the US from 1991 to 1992 under the title Saban's Adventures of the Little Mermaid, but only the first 13 episodes were ever translated, and only came out in dubbed format. If Saban no longer has the license, it would be great to see if it could get subbed.

Aura Battler Dunbine is licensed, but I'm sure that some other Giant Robot show will get fansubbed eventually.
