View Full Version : Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Hello, I'm new so I don't know if a thread was started already on this topic, so I'll just bring it up anyway.
Has anyone played this game or not? What are the stats of your best units? Share your facts, comments and tips on this game here!
Tip: To make anyone with magic stronger, turn them into a white mage,(only vieras, nu mous and humans can be white mages) and equip them with a white robe so they can learn Turbo MP. After they learn this support ability, other magic jobs (like Illusionist, Summoner, Time Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage) will become stronger and do more damage.
All I can say is that this game was quite easy :)
I played it a while back.
I remember the best way to use the hero was to get him to become a ninja, learn the 2 swords skills then switch to paladin so he could have healing magic, hit with 2 weapons and have way better HPs/resistance than a simple ninja.
Also, a good idea was to give him the counter attack from whatever class had it to get him pretty hard to beat ; this way, the last boss couldn't do much to me and was rather easy.

It was the first game I had on my GBA SP. Played it for weeks but once you beat the game, you can't be bothered to do it all over again. The last thing I did on it was make a team full of 5 Assassins but it got boring. I eventually got Fire Emblem and compared to it, FFTA is pants.
My best unit was probably Hunter/Paladin, because you can use Ultima Shot and Holy Cross from 8 squares away.

I heard some mixed reviews on this one and got Fire Emblem instead.
FE rocks, its hard, but its a really sweet story-driven strategy rpg

Fire Emblem is so much better the FFTA. I've beaten Fire Emblem a lot of times. Its really not that hard. But Fire Emblem is fun so I play it again every now and then. You have to love the Pegasus Knights! Get all three to their top levels and you have THE most destructive units in the game. Plus their combo thing has 100 accuracy and you can use it every turn.

Never really got into FFTA. FFT was inredibly easy and I didn't really bother with FFTA. I didn't like the law system at all.

FFTA was a nice game for the GBA. My best unit was a Dragoon/Gladiator... it was nice because he could use ultima sword from 2 spaces away w/spears.

Thanks, I'm making an army of white mages called The Jesuits clan, and I'm looking for power and glory. I really love the Mogs. OOH they're gorgeous.

omg serapiel just dissed FF6(3). blasphemy. evil. IMO one of the best console RPG ever.
anyway, Fire Emblem was much better than FFT...
btw, de're Moogles. Mog is a name. :p
I'm playing FFTA now, and its storyline is, so far, pretty good. A bit simplistic with the gameplay, however, as the missions dealing with them main arc don't take into account your clan's levels and abilities, just the random clan battles, which just bumps up the enemy clans' levels and points to match yours. It's a bit quick to beat the main missions when you're at level 20+ with 100+ HP and 150+ speed and everyone else is still at least 10 levels behind you.
I'm fielding a team of 4 thieves (2 Moogles with Call and 2 Humans with stolen abilities), 2 assassins with Last Breath and Petrify, and a white mage with Life. Steal everything they have (weapons, armor, and every job ability that a Moogle or Human can master), and use the assassins to KO everyone when done. The mage is to bring back anyone whom you've KO'ed by accident whose stuff I haven't stolen yet.
That last bit happens more often than I'd like, though. Hard to control when the humans all take about 100 HPs every time... :heh:
Will play it through once more without leveling up first once I'm done, however, but after that, probably not going to touch it till a few years later. :)

Moogles. MOOGLES!!! Sorry!!!! they're so cute! I seriously have to make another mage team of Moogles. They drifted into other careers last time, useless.
