It was okay.

I thought that the premise was a little dumb.
The idea of blaming this on a taxi driver is just pathetic. Noone would believe that some taxi driver just happened to go berserk and kill all of the prosecutions witnesses and the prosecutor. As if that coincidence wasn't too much, all the killings are incredibly professional. Two to the heart, one to the head. All perfect shots. I can't believe that the other taxi driver assassinatino was ever believed by anyone unless the detective in charge just wanted to cover it up.

You could say that the hitman was trying to create Jazz assassinations. It has some validity if you think that the hitman was trying to create art more than kill anyone. Of course the taxi driver made things so unpredictable that doing this is utterly stupid when in such a high risk situation. Honestly, I think that Tom Cruise's character must have been suicidal and was trying to find some way to get himself killed because that is the only explanation for doing something so utterly stupid.

Since when the Hollywood movies have grown brains? Just stare the pretty explosions and suck in the plot without questions. ;)

I just saw this movie with a group of friends yesterday before I went bowling. I thought it was a pretty good movie.

I thought Tom Cruise did a fine job at playing Vincent's character as a cool, strictly business, seemly emotionless focused on the job killer with hidden and pained past. It was a good combo as well with Jamie Foxx. This is a deeper movie flick than I first thought. I like the action and the plot and the idea, but there was a bit too much dialogue going on. Some funny jokes too. That scene at the hospital with Max's mom, hilarious. I didn't care much about the psychobabble that the characters (Vincent) kept talking about life and the universe and stuff. A friend next to me kept complaining "When's Tom Cruise gonna cap someone?!". I felt some of the music was a little out of place, when there should be silence. And what the, a bullet to the head and Vincent's still walking? Why didn't Max finish him? Why did Vincent choose a taxi driver instead of driving himself? I think that's because it's the idea of the movie. If Vincent drove himself to deliver the kills, the movie wouldn't be as interesting maybe it wouldn't of been made. Nevertheless it was a worthawhile movie.

I think I can answer some of your questions:
And what the, a bullet to the head and Vincent's still walking?
Actually if you look closely the bullet didn't hit Vincent in the head. He ducked rather successfully. It took a piece out of his ear, but missed everything vital. All that shot did was make him bleed from the ear a lot.
Why didn't Max finish him?
Max has never killed anyone in his life. Perhaps he should have been thinking that he should kill Vincent considering that Vincent threatened to kill his mother if Max didn't follow orders, but Max just isn't that sort of guy. His mind was focused on saving the girl, not killing Vincent. It's a hard thing to kill a man who is lying helplessly on the ground. If Vincent was still standing he probably would have shot him again, but with Vincent on the ground it just didn't feel like self-defense to him at that moment.
Why did Vincent choose a taxi driver instead of driving himself?
Vincent explained that himself. It's jazz. It's all about adapting to unexpected circumstances. For whatever fucked up reason Vincent is more interested in creating art than methodical killing. Perhaps he is very jaded and needs these unexpected thrills for the adrenaline high like a sort of X-treme sport.

That was the second time Max shot him, in the subway. He was referring to the first time when they were in the office.
