View Full Version : Problem connecting to tracker - HTTP Error -1
I've got this error since thursday. I already tried with Bittornado, Azareus, ABC and Bittorrent and reinstalling firewall (ZoneAlarm), but it doesn't work.
I'm new in this, so please tell me what to do >_<

It's not only DearS, it happens with any torrent...
And I already read other threads about HTTP Error- 1, but they didn't help me much ^^u
If you look at 'details' it will state the tracker url. Sometimes I get a similar error and the tracker will say http:/// which I just figure that means the tracker is down.
Or it might be one of those momentary hiccups. When I was using the original BT client, it often times said there was some kind of problem, it could very well be a http error, so I just clicked okay and it went on it's way. BitTornado is different in that there is no popup alert but it fixes itself eventually.
Most of the time, if the tracker url is not http:/// BitTornado will connect fine after a few and the error msg will disappear soon.
Then again, if you are new to this, and have never had a torrent work before now, it's being blocked by your ISP or Network Admin (if you are at a school/university/college)
Well, i'm using bittorrent since March and this is the first time it happens.
The trackers are not http:/// so I left some downloads open for 15 hours or so, but it didn't connect.
But thanks anyway =)
Any other info about this? ._.

Is it from the A-Keep site? Because I'll check it on mine.
The Dears torrent is from the Anime Keep site, yes. But I also download from other sites like boxtorrent, Shinsen-sub and Ayu...

Not sure if this will help, but there is a connection checker post on BitTornado's forum, http://forums.degreez.net/viewtopic.php?t=1457 also there was a post in that topic by DeHackEd saying this "I find that HTTP error -1 generally means that the other side closed the connection rudely without sending any data at all (no HTTP headers even). I doubt that was the problem in this case. No one else has mentioned this problem. Something's off." Your answer might be in the topic.

Please!!

You, personally, don't need a tracker. I don't even know how to explain it really, but there are sites that have a tracker...which I guess keeps track of the files, the user downloading and uploading, data sent and received. You download one of their torrents, and it opens in your default bittorrent client, you select a save location and you let it go. If someone can add to this, feel free. I just know the basics pretty much.
:frustrated: I have the same problem, my bittorrent does not work.....the same error is happnening to me and i dont know how to solve it. I tryed to unistall and reinstall bit torrent but the problem continues.
Does anyone knows how to fix it ... the problem that appears is http error -1 and does not conect with any site so i cant download any shit.
well i hope someone knows
thanks :help:
I have the same problem too..with azureus and bittornado..when I use azureus it says that the tracker is offline (right click download -> show details)
that happens with all the tracker with the port 6969....
perhaps this has something to do with it? ^^'
