Impossible to tell... So many good games..
Here's some of them

Silent Hill - The story is so good. The music can be weird sometimes, and wonderful sometimes.. A really great game! :)

Metal Gear Solid - Whoaa, Snake. Again! Nothing better than running around with Socom killing soldiers. ;)

Final Fantasy - FF games are great! Even though like "50" hours sounds alot.. it isn't that much. Since you get into the game just as it starts.

Dead Or Alive - Lost of people complain about the girls HUGE breasts.. :p
I just ignore the breasts and everyone that complains and enjoy the best fighting game ever, DOA. (Brad Wong rocks! ;))

Xenogears - This game is awesome this far (never had time to finish it since the guy took back his PSone :|)
The music is just lovely. I hope that I'll be able to finish it someday!

Zone Of The Enders - Want to be cool for a moment? Want to fly around killing enemy after enemy in just a while? Want to get your hands on a mech? Great! This game is perfect if this is what you want. The 2nd Runner/ANUBIS is really awesome! (Go Jehuty ver. 2!)

I didn't add any numbers to the games since some of the comments was about all of it and not a single game..

Ooooh! Did you play Loom? That's my favorite of the classic LucasArts adventure games. I bought a whole collection of 'em when I was 6 or so that included Monkey Island, Loom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Maniac Mansion, and Zak MacKracken. I used to play all kinds of games back then. Space Quest (I bought the collection package a couple of years ago) and Police Quest (ditto) both fell prey to my typing ability, but I never managed to play the much-hyped King's Quest. Even now I've never managed to play one of the games...

I got the same collection a while back! i can belive i forgot the monkey island series, although monkey island (1) was the best!

Yeah, i played loom, dont remember if i beat it or not, although i do remember having to write down like pages of song notes.

I can still remember that song from zak mackraken, i think it was when you see those hali-christnas, er,er-er-er-er-er, er-er-er-er-er, er. or somthing like that, rifk!

It was a little annoying having pages of notes for Loom, but it was so much fun to explore and figure out how to use the magic and make different combinations and things :D I remember one part especially where you had to save a flock of sheep from the dragon and in order to do that you had to magically change the color of all of the sheep to camoflage with the rest of the ground :) Ahhh memories!

I don't remember Zak MacKraken very well... I remember something about a phone company and a pyramid. I always died in the pyramid because the alien always blasted me to smithereens.

I still have the collection, but I had to mail my 5 1/4in floppy disks of it back to LucasArts because they stopped working. They sent me back a bunch of 3 1/2in disks though :D

So many to choose from, so many different eras. How do you compare BGII with EOB or something like that? OK I'll do it by computer:

Electron: Free Fall.
Amiga: Between Eye of the Beholder, Civilisation and Mega Lo Mania.
Old PC: Between Civilisation II and Warcraft II.
New PC: Between Baldur's Gate II and The Sims.

hah! i just started playing this game today. im just beginning right at the part where the big tree spirit dies :). im still in the first town, i want to check out my controls and fighting manuvers before i venture off. also, i have no clue what that little guy playing the flute is trying to tell me. looks like i have plenty of hours to contribute to this game.

Zelda: Link to the past (for:snes) was awesome too. if this game is anywhere near as good as link to the past, then im in.

WHOOH!! Zelda games! sigh..I love OoT...the first time I played it though, it took me months! (cuz being inside that fish was scary!) Now Ive beat it so much I think I can play it over night. Its still really fun though.
Also I also kinda liked Majoras mask..whoo...time limit..what a rush. Plus you get to become zora link!!..I could spend all day just swimming around and zapping fish..but then, Im easily amused

And Monkey Island! Guybrush, what a cad.

Ive also got an unhealthy vice for Pokemon Pinball..

You know, whenever I see threads like these, 3 or 4 great games pop into my mind, making me think "wow, those were great games, I gotta add those". But as I read other people's posts, the list of games that I have enjoyed to the extreme just grows, until it strikes me that I have a hard time choosing between the 30-40 or so great titles.

And when I consider that I have played around 2000-3000 games on different platforms over the years, probably more, that list of great games seems awfully short somehow.

Anyway, I'll sort my favorites by platform, otherwise I'm bound to forget more games than I already will:

NES:
The Legend of Zelda 1 & 2
Super Mario Bros 1-3 (3 is the best, of course)
Megaman 2
Turtles 2

SNES:
Chrono Trigger (IMO the best RPG EVER!!)
The Legen of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Tales of Phantasia
Secret of Mana & Seiken Densetsu 3
Lufia 2
Megaman X 1-3
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Super Castlevania IV
Illusion of Time (Illusion of Gaia in the US)

Nintendo 64: (which I haven't played all that much)
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
MarioKart 64
The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask (prefer OoT, though)
Mario64

Playstation:
Final Fantasy VII-IX (love'm all)
Star Ocean 2: The Second Story
Vagrant Story
Breath of Fire III-IV
Metal Gear Solid
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Megaman X5 & 6
Chrono Cross (good game, but inferior sequel, IMO)
XenoGears
Suikoden II
Valkyrie Profile
Lunar 2: Eternal Blue
Harvest Moon: Back to Nature

Playstation 2:
Final Fantasy X
Kingdom Hearts
Devil May Cry

PC: Oh boy, here's the toughest one...
The Command and Conquer Series (prefer Red Alert, but I'll put all in one cathegory)
Baldurs Gate II + Throne of Bhaal
Civilization 1 (the original and still the best!)
Fallout 1 & 2
Kana - Little Sister (adult Bishoujo game, often called H-game)
True Love 95 (another adult Bishoujo game)
Season of the Sakura (same as above)
Princess Maker 2 (which was never officially released in English, sadly)
Tyrian
UFO Enemy Unknown (X-COM UFO Defense) & Terror From The Deep
The Monkey Island games, especially the first.
Day of The Tentacle!!!
Deus Ex
The Jagged Alliance games
Transport Tycoon Deluxe
Police Quest 2
Theme Park (the original)
Master of Orion 1 & Master of Magic
The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall (if it only weren't for all the bugs...)
Syndicate
Worms and Reinforcements United
Lands of Lore 1
Beneath a Steel Sky
Sam & Max Hit the Road
Alter Ego

 That list got longer than I thought!

monke island series (even though i only finished them with the walkthrough)

altought monkey island games are fun to play, its more rewarding when you think things out. i {almost} never used walkthroughs. even if it took me hours just pointing and clicking, and "useing" all my items on diffrent objects just to hope something would happen.

however, when i get stuck, i usally just take a nap. and for some strange reason, like my brain is subconsciencely solving the problem while im asleep, i usally get a "eureka!" moment and know what to do.

oh crap, im suppose to be a slight expert in cog pshycology. the real reason, i believe, is that when you work on the same problem for hours, you're stratiges at approaching the problem are not being varied. you're spending more time on testing the wrong stratigy than clearing your "slate" and starting a new. this also has to do some what with proactive interference. you may have been only working on a few diffrent problem solving stratigies or viewing the problem form a certain angle for hours. You fail to come up with more varied paths to solve the problem.
when i take a nap, i forget how i was approaching the problem almost completely, but, i now know that that was wasnt working and it was the wrong way. So when i wake up, i think of a new diffrent ways of solving the problem, and bam, "eureka!"

All games from the Tales Series just luv the battle system.
In no particular order from the top of my head I would say Xenogear, FF9, MGS (PS-PS2), Chrono Trigger,Suikoden II, FFT.
If I had to pick one i would definatly take Xenogears.

Since i am like one of the biggest xenogears fan out thier.. i find this most interesting. BTW, i would like to warm the rest of you other xenogears fans, to NOT buy the so called "prequal" of xenogears, xenosaga for ps2. I unfortunetly did buy and half way played it, but gave up on it because its sooo AWFULL. Becuase its not even by squaresoft is not the only problem, but alot of other things that made it horrible and an awfull video was due to its gameplay and lack of interest for characters. Also story sucked monkey butt.

I want to add that I love

Jet Grind Radio (Reason why the DC is still around and not in storage next to SNES)

Jet Set Radio Future - The Reason I bought an Xbox to begin with.... that and Halo.

oh yeah, and Super Mario Kart! and uh... Sim City on the SNES (I never could build a Megapolis :frustrated: )

hmm... I guess that's it. No....wait.... change FF1 and FF7 to ALL of the FF series.

And all the GTA... they're funny.... and Tetris! gotta add Tetris.

Wow!- I don't think that I'll ever finalize this list. :heh: I'm not a big Mortal Kombat fan but my friend shop has MK3 there and it's free to play. Me and my friend spent hours there.... go figure. I love games... :)

OMG, i completly forgot about the great RPG suikoden!!! I loved part 1 and 2, 3 suked in my opinion. And I also forgot to mention shenmue. That was like the coolest game i ever played on the dreamcast, and i actually considered buying an xbox just for the part 2 release.

Necrodeath
2003-11-06, 09:34
DiabloII: Lord of Destruction |PC| <<< A friend if mine bought it when it came out, got me hooked, and I still play it today. (Account= Necrodeath . Realm= Europe . msg me sometime :) )
F-Zero X |N64| <<< Best hardcore high-speed racing game there is, even better then GX.
Megaman X |SNES| <<< I dunno why, I just find myself playing that game over and over and over and over again...
Fallout 1 |PC| <<< This needs no explaination...
Fallout 2 |PC| <<< Needs also no explaination....no wait...It rocked too, just not as hard as Fallout 1...

Halo is nice, but it's just not appealing to me, and the X-Box version is better IMO.

Considering how much I enjoyed them at the time...
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (PC)
GoldenEye 007 (N64)
...it would probably be one of those.

Hmm.. I love how I never get tired of Katamari Damacy 2, no matter how many times I beat the game. XD But for my favorite, I'd have to say Disgaea or Disgaea 2. I play them over and over; can't get enough of the chibi characters and the funny storyline. XD

For computer games, I tend to play one for a while, then quit and find a new one. I've never stayed with any game for longer than oh, six months or so.

Wow, two votes for ChronoCross on this page alone. Usually it gets written off as a "poor sequel" to ChronoTrigger, but since I played them in the reverse order, I approached CC as a game on its own and enjoyed it thoroughly. Both the Chronos are in my top five, too, along with FFX, Shadow Hearts: Covenant (never gets enough love), and the original Ratchet and Clank. Close behind are FF VIII and Xenosaga I.

It's really difficult to pick up my absolute favourite. But I can easily name the ones that have had a lasting impact on me, and on how I've viewed games after playing them.

Final Fantasy Tactics
My favourite game in the entire Final Fantasy series. Extremely challenging gameplay, a host of the most popular "old-school" FF jobs, and quite easily the darkest and most mature story of the entire franchise. This is a work of love, created by someone with a strong love of history, and a hard-headed understanding of the cruelties and beauty of human nature.

Final Fantasy X
Once I got to Luca, and won my first blitzball game by a golden goal after a triple overtime, I was hooked for good. FFX forever changed the way I regarded console games in general, and RPGs in particular. Prior to FFX, I have never appreciated a video game's potential to tell a grand and truly memorable story.

Metal Gear Solid
If FFX was my initiation to console gaming, then Metal Gear Solid was the game that forever cemented my profound excitement in video games as a medium for interactive story-telling. :)

Silent Hill
To be honest, other than Ringu, I can't think of any horror movie that scared me as much as this classic game. I could feel my heart tighten every time I slipped into Dark Silent Hill, and I can still vividly remember the heart-lifting relief whenever I finally found the way out of that nightmarish world.

....and finally, there was

Ico
Where the very game environment is in itself a "character", especially the huge castle from which the main characters have to escape -- it's Gormenghast, brought to vivid life. A game of astounding beauty, graced with an extremely straightforward, yet profoundly touching story. The main characters do not utter more than five sentences (in an unintelligible language) throughout the entire game, but yet they somehow managed to trigger an urgent need for me to see them through to the story's end.

Wow, two votes for ChronoCross on this page alone. Usually it gets written off as a "poor sequel" to ChronoTrigger, but since I played them in the reverse order, I approached CC as a game on its own and enjoyed it thoroughly.

I played CT before CC, and still, after finishing CC, I thought it was the best piece of gaming software that had ever passed through my hands. It might sound like baseless fanboyism, but I think there's never going to be a game like CC again. Never. Not only on the technical quality of things (amazing graphics for the time, the best, simplest and most well thought out battle system I've seen in my entire life, incredibly deep storyline), but on the spiritual side. I often make these sort of special "connections" with games, more particularly with Japanese RPG games (I've yet to see an American game that provides me with such an experience), and with CC, I made one of the strongest links, which would be the strongest if it wasn't for the existence of Legend of Mana, a game I left out of the discussion since it has its own technical flaws, but that I definitely loved in a huge amount of ways, too.

No wonder, after all, that Gamespot gave Chrono Cross a perfect 10 (http://www.gamespot.com/ps/rpg/chronocross/review.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=gssummary&tag=summary;review).

Of course, there's always the people that will think CC is a full-fledged sequel of CT... and who fail to see the real purpose of CC as a stand alone spinoff of CT.

If I have to list the five games that left on me the biggest impressions on me and heavily influenced my gamer tastes:

#1. Fallout

Just when the RPG hysteria generated by FFVII hit France, I longed for a game that would not be set in an heroic fantasy world, would let me determine my character's strenghts and weaknesses and yet leave room for improvement through the course of the game, and the freedom to do anything I want, just to emulate that freedom I felt when I played tabletop pen&paper RPGs.

Fallout unexpectedly hit me hard on what I wished in a game pretending to deserve the "role-playing game" label.

This is what I wanted, and way more. A mad max setting with a retro-1950s feel? SOLD. Shotguns, the GARest firearms, are in? SOLD. Can I get around some conflicts or quest w/o having to pull off my firearm, with the help of my character's wit? SOLD.

I do not remember how long I played this game until I sucked it dry.

#2. Planescape Torment.

A D&D game done right, with almost the same freedom as Fallout. The Nameless' quest was very compelling and was actually tought-provoking to me. I don't think a RPG's main character left such a strong impression on me, and having a witty flaming floating skull as companion cannot get you wrong.

Also, mad props to TSR for making a great RPG universe such as Planescape, one of my favorites along with Dark Sun by the same company, The Emerald Empire from "Legend of the Five Rings" by Alderic Entertainment and the Known Worlds from "Fading Suns" by Hollistic Designs.

#3. Monkey Island.

My favorite point & click adventure game.

#4. Guilty Gear.

Street Fighter II triggered my love for the 2D Fighting Game genre, King of Fighters made me care for the actual backstories of their characters BUT Guilty Gear with its hi-octane action, Bastard-ish character designs and metal soundtrack turned my love for the genre into a burning passion. I played it and could never look back. I can't even touch a 3D fighting game without groaning.

#5. Resident Evil.

The game that made me go "Woah, a vg can scare me!", "Oh shit, Capcom can do something else that is not Street Fighter or Megaman.", etc...
The Romero feel, the music and the presence of a shotgun in the arsenal were enough to buy me.

Demongod86

FFX: Voice acting, beautiful cinematography, and a truly memorable story.

FFVII: Because Sephiroth is just too damn cool.

Chrono Trigger: Claimed as *still* the best RPG of all time. I'll go with X in terms of storytelling, but for its time, Chrono Trigger held the top spot along with...

Seiken Densetsu 3: didn't get to the US of A because that's when the PS hit and so SNES was going out of style. Excellent game, and very replayable, but once again, replaying an RPG sort of is like rereading a book. Once you know the story...that said, you gotta laugh at magical girls in bathing suits in a snowy land!

WarIII: Because of FFA and DotA.

Heh. I've played the games through at least 20 times. 3 times for KOTOR I, at least 20 for KOTOR II. My save files are numbering into about 128 or so.... watch it, because after so many save files they get all corrupted if you have more than 1600 blocks. I like going both light and dark on all my characters, and choosing multiple classes. My fav's are Jedi Watchman/Sith Asassin, because they get to use Niman style, which is good for ALL forms of combat. It's interesting because the ending...

...changes f you kill 1 or 2 out of the three Jedi Masters but leave at least one alive and the conversations change slightly when they realize that you're with Kreia.

I still haven't been unable to unlock all the movies yet... I can't figure it out. I still have 2 to go, but I can't figure it out..... grrrrr..... :frustrated:

I have a tip for KOTOR II: Infinite XP. When battling Sith Assassins on Dxun, don't head straight for Mandalore's office. Stay in the field and Sith Assassins spawn continuously. However, you'll be doing a lot of running around, cause they don't die (even if they have no health) until you're really close to them. They also get harder as you level up. Have fun.

Runscape: Right now my character (Crzymn246) is about lvl 60 or so, maybe 61. I didn't bother to check. My total lvl is in the 600's or so, I think. I keep getting scammed. I've lost.... what? FOUR full sets of Rune by now? Once dying, twice scammed, once hacked.... I have the worst luck in the universe. :(

Yeah Kotor rocked :D Played Kotor II around 5 times XD I couldn't finish Kotor I cause the disk was whacked :upset::frustrated:I didn't like KOTOR II much. Near the end I had become so ridiculously powerful that it turned into a really boring game. Even when being fully on the light side, I could walk around and constantly cast the most powerful lightning attack without dropping a single FP (and I was playing in hard mode since the beginning of the game). KOTOR I was a much harder game, what with the level 20 cap and the lesser overpowering of feats (and there weren't any of those fighting techniques or whatever they're called--they really unbalanced gameplay a lot).

Soul Caliber II was good. Weapon Master mode was fun, and unlocking costumes was interesting. I thought some characters could have used more costumes (i.e. Kilik), though. My only problem with gameplay was I thought they watered down Cervantes too much... but he's still tough if you know how to use him. My favorite character: Nightmare. First game listed in system is best game, next is runner up

SNES - Chrono Trigger (probably THE game), FF4 (See handle?)

PS - Tactics Ogre (I only played this version, but memorable characters and an epic storyline that branches? wow), Persona 2 (plot being different was great)

PS2 - Romancing SaGa (Beat it with all 8 chars, spending 300+ hours on it), Ar Tonelico (Possibly the game with the best music, EVER)

PSP - Riviera (Goto-san, moe!), Tales of Eternia (First RPG here with next to no load times)

GB - Pokemon (c'mon, it redefined the genre didnt it?), DQ3 (Although it was still called Dragon Warrior then)

GBA - Riviera (can't you see I love this game?), Golden Sun (graphics were amazing for a GBA)

DS - Etrian Oddysey(difficult game, very few of those around anymore), Izuna (difficult game as well)

Yes, I'm an RPG junkie :P. I own all the non-action RPGs (a genre I don't like) for PS, PS2, DS, and PSP, on top of everything listed up there apart from the SNES part. XD

Not necessarily the "best" games ever, just your favorites. Mine are:

1. Shenmue II (DC)
2. Final Fantasy VI (SNES)
3. Jet Set Radio (DC)
4. Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
5. Soul Calibur (DC)
6. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (PC)
7. Grim Fandango (PC)
8. Battletoads (NES)
9. Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap (SMS)
10. ICO (PS2)

Most of these are on lots of favorite game lists, other than Battletoads and WBIII.

Battletoads has a reputation as the hardest game of all time, and I'll admit it is probably the hardest game I've beaten, but it is very fun and has a great variety of level design. I recommend anyone to at least try it, but avoid the SNES remake.

Wonder Boy III is the best of the very underrated Wonder Boy series, and is a game I think almost anyone would love. WB in Monster Land (SMS) and WB in Monster World (GEN) are also outstanding.

Now if only they would make Shenmue III and a JSR sequel that keeps the intensity of the original...

1. Nexus the Jupiter Incident (PC).
2. Lands of Lore: Guardians of Destiny (PC)
3. Haegemonia: The Solon Heritage (PC)
4. Sacrifice (PC)
5. Secret of Mana (SNES)
6. X3: Reunion (PC)
7. Mafia (PC)
8. Silent Hill 4 (PS2)
9. Clive Barker's Undying (PC)
10. X-Wing Vs. TIE Fighter (PC)

As you can see, I'm a long-time PC gamer, and I love games that take me places, tell me a great story, and my favoritism is especially reserved for the game series that were unfairly snubbed before their time. But if anything, my years as a gamer have taught me that it's not the quality you put into your games, it's how many people you can convince to buy them.

Of course, it doesn't change the fact that I'm furious as to how quality like this could possibly be allowed to die:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=vD4C8LA0_24

Long live true gaming quality, and may the developers who dare break the mold and produce it be justly rewarded.

Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap (SMS)

Wow, I didn't think anyone else remembered that game. It was a lot of fun. I especially liked the password they had in the instruction booklet that put you in human form with all the weapons and all stages clear. I did beat the game without it though. I still have the game somewhere, but my old master system has long since ceased to function...:heh:

mmm.. I haven't spent much time playing games since I was younger, and I'm still a fan of more laid back, lower tension games (RPG's and the like) but the few that made a large impact on me in some way, or ones I particularly liked were:
1. Chrono Trigger
2. Starcraft
3. Final Fantasy IV

That being said, Final Fantasy Chronicles made me very sad, but the GBA port for FFIV was great.
Next up, handheld Chrono Trigger, please.

Other notable games (read "Games I've played and liked") are Fire Emblem 7 & 9, Final Fantasy I, VI, VII, and IX (maybe VIII, X, and XI), Super Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl, Chrono Cross, all of Pokemon.
So yeah, I haven't played much, and usually only play first-person shooters and the like when I'm over at friends' houses.

1) Chrono Trigger (SNES)
2) Final Fantasy VI (SNES)
3) Secret of Mana (SNES)
4) Earth & Beyond (PC, MMO) <-- best MMO ever before EA pulled the plug
5) Ogre Battle 64 (N64)
6) Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
7) Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (PC)
8) World of Warcraft (PC, MMO, duh)
9) Diablo 2 + Expansion (PC)
10) Starcraft + Expansion (PC)

Awesome SNES classics, some awesome N64 classics, and if having 3 Blizzard titles on the list makes me a fanboy then I guess I am, but I love their games(except WC3, didn't take to that very much).

I left any VN's off the list because I choose to categorize them differently than other games, just me being strange maybe, but I'd say my favorites are probably a big tie among: Fate/Stay Night, Tsukihime, Planetarian, Ever17, Wind ~a breath of heart~, and Narcissu. There are so many apparently really good ones that I haven't been able to read though because I can't read a lick of kanji, and I know I"m missing out because of it, and it kills me that the translation for ef fell through since I absolutely loved the anime.

Final Fantasy series, more specifically FF VIII. Had the best story of them all and the battle system was really intellectual.

Starcraft for PC was an awesome game. Gave rise to many custom maps and I can't wait for Starcraft II to come out. Looks amazing, going to be the reason I upgrade my PC :).

Metal Gear Solid series. Awesome series, gives you tactics in a shooter.

1. Counter Strike Source - just for some good old simple easy head blasting:p
2. Guild Wars - long time player of this and just love it
3. Final Fantasy VII & VIII - for me these 2 titles stood out the most in the series so far, altho I think XIII may take the top spot when it swings around
4. Total Annihilation - Best RTS I ever played and haven't come across a game that plays anything close to this master peice.
5. Halo - Now here I have to say 2 and 3 are ok by any standard, but the first was just awesome. Any console FPS that came before was just meh, and many that came after still don't compare to it. Only other consloe FPS I can think of that come close are CoD4 and Golden Eye

Ps1 - Vagrant story - front mission 3

wow thought I was the only person that liked these games lol. Front Mission 3 was a brilliant game, great game design with a good story to go with it.
My friend had Vagrant Story which I always went round to his to play, another great little RPG I enjoyed as much as any FFgame.

Final Fantasy 4,7,9,10,12 & Crisis Core.... those games are legends in my book... the graphics, storyline, characters says it all... it pawnez!

Disgaea 1 & 2.... even though my favorite among all rpg's is the FF series, this one doesn't dissapoint me...it has a good storyline as well, humorous characters, strange worlds... and Laharl is the baddest among all demons XD

Tales of....
a.)Symphonia, even though this game has the eng. ver. only in GC, my friend showed it to me and said "woah!" the plot twisters did it..
b.)Abyss, this has a nice plot as well, many plot twisters as well, many unexpected turn of events, great battle system... but poor graphics T_T
c.)Eternia, well it is a nice game for the psp and Farah is an awesome fighter and she's cute :3

DoTA... yes, this is originally warcraft 3, but this map is amazingly popular... I know why.. the competition! yeah!

and my favorite game of all time is the
Tekken series
how I love thee.... it has competition, crazy juggles, cool characters, superb graphics, nice arenas... oh why must this game be so good XD

out of the games i have played

#1 mischif makers - to me music and replay value can always be improved in any game. but other than that i honestly can not think of one way to make mischif makers better. in my eyes that makes it a masterpice.

#2 veiwtiful joe - i honestly can't express my amazement with this game. not becuse of the action, not becuse of the challange, but becuse of the replay value. 4 difficulty modes wich and 4 characters makes a nice 16+ playthroughs. also the difficulty modes actually change fetures in the game verse most difficulty settings wich just incress the number of enemys and there states.

#3 gex 64 - "It's tail time". an amazingly addicting game full of memeroble moments.

#4 rayman - i never completed it becuse it was sooooo hard, but that's what made it fun. i had a great time dieing over and over agian just to get to see the next level. it's one of those few game that gives you tremedous euphoria every time you clear a world.

#5 megaman aniversary collection. what can i say. hours of fun.

Portal - no comment, it's awesome ok!
Deus Ex - the best action RPG ever made.

Supreme Commander - the best strategy game imo! The scale is just enourmous!

Golden Sun (GBA) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Sun#Reception)

I first saw the game in a colourful review in Nintendo Official Magazine about an interesting new rpg and I'm so glad I manipulated my parents into getting it for me. :heh:

Once I got the game I couldn't put it down, the graphics for the game were as detailed as you could get at the time on the GBA but they were amazing every background were detailed and the Djinnia summons were epic - there was nothing better than summoning Judgement to nuke the hell out of the enemy , the storyline was amazing including the engaging characters every part of the game had an interesting story to tell so even the most hardened text skipper stopped to read, the music was amazing despite the limited capabilities of the GBA from the haunting music of Sol Sanctum to the break neck beat of the battle theme, the gameplay was great as at the end you felt like you had gone through an epic journey and experiencing the various towns;meeting strange characters and solving puzzles that were actually a challenge! and the control system was easy to understand, it was a gaming masterpiece imo, it was the only game I can remember being a fanboy of and repeatedly playing through (to collect all the Djinni and items again.)

Sorry to offend any Final Fantasy fans, but this is a real Picasso of an rpg even stripped of it's decent GBA gfx it could still stand on it's own because of it's epic storyline, which you can't say about any of the FF games.

Rating: 1,000,000/10

I've been playing Simulators and RTSes for most of my gaming experience so. In no particular order:

Sins of a Solar Empire (Great game, and promising for the genre it introduced RT-4X, and superb for Ironclad's first game)
IL-2 Sturmovik (WW2 Flight Sims just don't get any better. . )
Freespace 2 (Need I say more. . .?)
Freelancer (Great game, bland ships :heh:)
Company of Heroes (A nice change of pace from the regular stock RTS. Love the Infantry capabilities)
Starcraft/Brood War ('Nuff Said)
Star Trek: Armada II(I'm a Trekkie so this ones a bit biased, but its a fun RTS nontheless)
Star Trek: Bridge Commander (Great simulation of Trek ships from the bridge, instant favorite of mine)

Though my ultimate favorite from that list would be Freespace 2, it just oozed epic.

My favorite would be, and has always been, Banjo-Kazooie for the N64. I thought it was the most amazing looking thing when it first came out; when I finally did play it, I was completely immersed. I just beat the game again recently after a lengthy hiatus, and it still lives up to the same charm, wit, and amusement as when I first tried it out.

I do have a few others: Viewtiful Joe is the best beat-'em-up I've played, and I especially love the VFX modes. The original Disgaea is my favorite JRPG (and has utterly ruined my life), American McGee's Alice has such a lovely atmosphere, and I am attached to a variety of trademark platformers, such as Super Mario Bros. 3 and Sonic Adventure. Oh, and Sam & Max Season One is pure excellency.

I think Persona 3 has a good chance of making it to this list, but I'll have to play more of it to see if it's a worthwhile contender.

Diablo 1/2 caused me to lose 1 year of my life. Great games. Did you play the addons (Hellfire/LoD) as well?

LoD of course. Hellfire? Hmm... If I remember correctly it's 3rd party expansion pack, a sort of original story thing that just makes use of the world of Diablo. Haven't played that one.

Yes. It isn't developed by Blizzard, instead Synergistic Software, Inc. did the job. It adds a new main story and 2 new types of dungeons. And tons of new items (and enemies).
I must mention the Staff of the Jester which casts random spells. I love that one. 'tis a nice expansion pack worth trying if you ask me.

Favorite Game: Final Fantasy VII
Reason: I really enjoyed the story behind the game. I was a big FF fan since way before that game was released, and I became even more addicted after playing it. It's so long and so complicated. The creators really went into the storyline of the game, and that makes it absolutely worth the money and time.

Besides, Tifa is just smoking hot!

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (Invention system, relationship system, good plot, good graphics)

Tales of ... Series (Too many to list)

Honorable Mention:

Earthbound, Metroid Prime 1/2, Final Fantasy VI/VIII/XII, Starcraft, WoW, 007: Goldeneye, Tales of Symphonia, Portal (GotY '08 in my opinion), Geist, ...

In Japan it's FF4 and the US it's 6...that caused a me lot of confusion...I call it 4 because I had played a hacked Japanese ROM. But yes it does not get a lot of love...I love Terra and...who were those other guys again? lol oh yeah sabin and kefka...he was too funny.

I think you may be mistaken, according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_IV), FF4, is the one with Cecil et all. (In the US, this was originally released to the Super Nintendo as FF2). While FF6 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_VI) was the one with Terra in it (this was originally released to the Super Nintendo as FF3).

Let's see:

- Sonic series (including the "bad" games, I don't find them that bad... just annoying... I think Shadow is at the level of Sonic CD in annoyance level *hides from raging fans*)
- Oddworld series (what came out to the pc)
- Serious Sam series (Sam I am)
- Blizzard games... every one of them... (well I don't really love Lost Viking that much, but the recent titles: Diablo, Warcraft and Starcraft (even Huncraft, the unbalanced, unofficial hungarian expansion for SC, known as Genocide in english))
- Rayman series, thought 3 was not that good, and I haven't played the party games
- Kingdom Hearts 1-2 (one of the rare things that I thank for my brother that he borrowed a PS2 from his japanese friend... game consoles are considered to being luxury in Hungary, and I was called a rich bastard when I told my classmates that I have a PS2...)
- Ecco the Dolphin series (whats are made by hungarians! Mwhaha! But I think the Megadrive games are better...)
- Castlevania series, mostly the new ones (god bless the noGba NDS emulator)
- Metroid series (I only played the 2d ones... there's no gamecube emulator...)
- and those what I forgot...

Right now, my favourite is the Metal Slug series, what I found thanks to a g1 submission at Screwattack.com. Being borned in a country where "arcade" umm... shops, or what you call it, are non-existent, it was both new and retro for me. And I love it!

There is a gamecube emulator called Dolphin at www.emulator-zone.com. You'll have to get the ROMs elsewhere, I can't tell you where to get them.

And I LOVE Metal Slug, expecially X, so hard to beat XD
