well the obvouis Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist.

Currently, i've been really surprised by alchemist and I am getting a bit dissapointed by the Naruto eps due to the
low actual content episodes. You just seem to notice the flashbacks and fillers alot more often when less and less is hapening.

And alchemist is at the last leg of its episodes so I guess it's not a fair comparison?

but all in all, i was really surprised by Full Metal Alchemist and I'd say it's a deffinete contender.(I even chose it over Naruto in a poll :p ).

but I dont want to turn this into a Alchemist vs Naruto thread because I know some manga reader will spoil both- so PLEASE DONT.

:)

Samurai Champloo is great too. Samurai 7 is really slow at first but good.

Same with Madlax, slow good.

Monster is slow all around and not your typical anime but if you haven't seen it, you have 21 episodes to watch and it is good stuff. Just after 21 eps, those 1 week waits will hurt.

Typically I like to stay away from anime until they are finished.

I have been watching Naruto and Fullmetal, but MAdlax have not heard of. Just was wondering what new anime was out there that is great.

yep, i suggest you give Madlax a shot.

I believe suki has 1-24 so you'll actually have alot to go at right away.

It's got a military feel to it too, and sniping :).

so it's good. And the music is nice too.

I'm really enjoying Samurai 7. As a fan of the original movie by Akira Kurosawa (I almost typed Toriyama!), I was kind of disappointed as to the backdrop of the anime was in a "16th century feudal japan/crazy technology with humongous mecha" era. But the way people, the story, and short (but oh so sweet) fights are presented, this show has lots of potential to become grrrrrrreat! (thanks tony the tiger!)

Oooooh, there's plenty:

Fullmetal Alchemist
Elfen Lied
DearS
Girls Bravo

I'm sure there's more, like Madlax for example.

1-23.

And the sniping is fairly minimal, even with a psycho and suspiciously lesbo sniper roaming around :D

Now, now... isnt this quite a subjective question... what could be the greatest piece of art jewel ever for me could be run of the mill for you... aw well

My personal favorites at the moment are Memory of Oblivion, Madlax, Elfen Lied and Maria sama ga Miteru

While i painfully wait each week for the releases I also entertain myself with Full Metal Alchemist and Naruto, they are nothing special but they surely entertain you for the 20 minutes they last

Besides DearS & Elfen Lied, I'm also watching Aishiteruze Baby.

I personally like Melody of Oblivion, however it's already up to episode 20+ in Japan and only 13 eps have been subbed in English so far. Better than nothing, eh...

I also really like Otogizoushi, but I can't tell you whether that's subbed or not because it's licensed, so, yeah...

Besides that you might want to try out Soukyuu no Fafner. It's got only 9 eps out and at first it had hordes of people fansubbing it, but now I think there aren't so many. Good groups IMO would be Anime-Empire, who's done 1-8... Anime-Keep has done from 1-8 as well. a.f.k./Solar seemed to have stopped after ep 2...
It seems fairly cliche to me and I juts don't get much out of it, but it's entertaining enough and... yeah.

You can say that Hunter X Hunter GI Final is new. Though you kind of have to watch the other part. But if you have you should watch it.

Tenjou Tenge is a great new series, I won't say the beginning of the series is like hwo the rest is. Though a lot of people just watch one episode and throw it off has nothing but fanservice and pointless fights...

Samurai Champloo is good. It's not really like most anime, well most 'popular' anime. It has an episodic style like Bebop does.

Until Fafner takes a different direction, I'm staying away. Bored the hell out of me. :/

I'd recommend watching Sensei no Ojikan, if you like that type of anime.

Fafner just doesnt seem to have anything new....character designs of Gundam Seed, Storyline oh-so-similar to Rahxephon.

Just because they kill of a character doesnt mean its gonna be dramatic...that girl's death seemed rather pathetic to me than touching...also the guy who had a crush on the girl pissed me off so much. If he thinks the main character could have saved her but didnt do it purpose, y not get his fucking lazyass off the dam chair and do it himself instead of trying to curse the crap out of the guy. Seriously you could tell the guy was trying to mack on the girl when she was sick but all she cared about was the main character....err where am i going with this lol

anyway i wouldnt recommend this anime at all.

I haven't watched a lot of new anime, but I would say Samurai 7. I enjoyed watching every episode of it (except Episode 01 :P) and yes, even those 'weird parts' in Episode 07. :heh: Maybe it's because of I've never watched the original movie before, so I don't know how everything is 'suppose' to go.
