New "skyscraper" ads on the site

Let me just start this thread before anyone else does (and I'm sure someone would have).

The theory is: more advertising income == more likely to keep the site online until well in the future.

But... what do you think of them?

Note that if you don't want to view any ads at all but still want to access AnimeSuki
you can of course visit the site through another mirror: www.animesuki.com/mirrors.php

Note: The decision to keep these new ads isn't 100% certain yet.
But such a decision would have to be made pretty soon.

Cause right now i dont see any...i just see a blank space where it looks like an ad should be...the only ad i see is the one on top

But if you choose to put up a few more ads i dont mind...if it helps you out it's fine with me...ads never really bothered me...the only thing that does is having more then 2 popups on a single site...

I won't mind Skyscraper ads at all. I've seen them on other forums and never really disliked them a whole lot. If you can put them in there and not disrupt the forum experience at all, then by all means put them in.

Anyway i wouldnt be to bothered about a few more ad thingys coz they dont bother me, i thought it was kinda stupid when ppl got all weird about there being an underware ad or summin?!! ^_^ lol silly :D

i dont mind it.. doesnt really affect me, but i agree with SCHADOWFOX i think there is enough people on here to donate atleast a little money to keep AS from adding more . Ads arent bad.. cuz u can just ignore em.. pop-ups are the worst, most of us have stoppers, but they are still quite annoying if ur on a dif comp

I'm all for having an add banner to help support the cost for this webpage, but why not put something people might actually use? Or at least in english? I was on one bit-torrent site and they had a link for Russian Brides (http://www.bride.ru/) and I got curious and clicked on it (rather than clicking just to help out) and I signed up for free and now I get an e-mail every day with about 20 thumbnail pics with many cute russian girls complete with profiles that want to marry me :heh: .

Of course I'd never do it but it's funny to read and some of the girls are really hot, so it's fun to look at ;) . I also checked and it pays 10-80 cents per click (I think thats good), so it's a money maker. So how about giving that one a try?

you know why ? its on the bottom of the page :) it should be in the menu big marked as Donate so anyone can see it on the first view :)

So..... AnimeSuki won't list licensed anime, but *will* sell ad space to a pirate hawking Cowboy Beebop on 3 DVDs for $38.95?

Oh well, I hope the advertisers pay well... I don't know what I'd do without this awesome site.

As mentioned in another thread... we CAN filter the domains
that are shown now. So if you notice an ad for a site with bootlegs,
PM that domain to Mb81 or me. I've already send him 4 domains
I've found. I've not seen those since; but I haven't really checked.

Plus I send him those domains late on a Friday, and he needs
to forward them himself as well, so it may take a few days
before they're actually filtered out, and of course most companies
don't work in the weekends.
