I don't mind watching them (sometimes, they're even fun), but they waste a week's worth of waiting for Naruto! We're probably going to have to wait until November at least to see what happens on the main story. V_V

Damnit. I hate whining narutards.

They have to do them in order to not catch up to the manga. Its either this or random 15 minute flashbacks (that have no relevence to the current events) each episode.

One question: Are you a manga reader?

Read the manga if you want story progression. But since it sounds like you already do, since you can tell this is filler rather than actual storyline, I think you should just shut up.

Bottom line: Read manga if you want storyline. You will get it quicker.
If you do read the manga, then the filler should not really disturb you as you know what is coming up. The only thing you could be impatient about would be watching the fights.. if that is the case, you need to relax... they will come when the anime directors believe they have given the creator enough time to get a big lead on the anime again.

or he reads the forums, where everyone makes a big what-to-do about whether or not the next episode will be spoiler

you can spot these crappy episodes a mile away anyways, they stick out like a sore thumb in my opinion :hmm:

well even if you did read the manga or not, you could tell this is a filler arc. Why?
Well if you think about what just happened
hokage just died and the chuunin exam was interupted so they should start explaining what happened after the chuunin exam and should continue the chuunin exam.

I don't read the manga. Everyone (exaggeration) knows that we're on the filler episodes. Can't you just tell by their quality how off-topic they are?

I could read the manga, but I find action much more exciting when they're animated. *shrugs*.

If the fillers get really bad, I may have to start manga.

I think the new filler arc looks promising.

You can tell it's filler by the complete lack of story progression and just messed up timing taking into account what just happened.

Think them as an extension of the original story. It's normal proceed to add those into an anime. In the fact Naruto anime is sticking pretty close to the original. As a comic reader I really couldn't care a less how much they screw up an anime but I'm tired of this endless complainting. Enjoy the show, please.

You're so boring, really.

I like Naruto and I like the fillers even if it won't happen anything spectacular. Would naruto be a good series if there were always something big happening all the time? I mean a big thing after a big.. Do you think? It would be _boring_. It's good to sometimes see funny and relaxed episodes and not always serious and dangerous.

I'm glad as long as they do naruto.

this thread is as useful as the thread about complaining at nit pickers. If you have criticism, make it constructive and useful. Don't blather on about how it does't live up to your expected fantasties. Yes they're poor episodes, the team isn't capable of doing anything decent with originality. However, they exist for a logica reason, and all your crying won't change that.

Well the action doesn't have to stop for there to be comedy, 20 minutes is more than enough time to combine comedy, action and drama, there's more than enough series out there to prove me right, Naruto itself has some great comedy scenese right in between intense moments in the same episode... Besides big things happening is what it's all about! You're right about saying that a 100 straight episodes without any comedy might be stretching it, but that's no reason to defend horrible, thoughtless writing done for the sake of filling the gap. Filler is necessary, it's not necessarily boring.
Though I have to disagree that any series that is constat excitement, big thing after big thing as you put it, will be boring, most of the great animes are pure excitment from beginning to finish, granted they're much shorter (about 26-28 episodes usually). Why? because they don't leave out comedy, they keep it woven in with the excitment.

who cares if it is filler the fact is the whole serie just rockx correct me if i`m wrong
Naruto is awesome, I love it, but I will stop watching if I get too bored.

Whether you like them or not is irrelevant. It's pointless to complain about them. The anime team has no choice but to add filler. Quite a lot of it, actually, if they don't want to ever catch up to the manga. The only way for them to fit all the filler in without ruining the manga-based episodes is with filler episodes. Otherwise they would have to go down to 1 chapter per episode or something and every episode would be diluted by filler. A lot of the manga chapters simply don't have room for all that filler, so the anime team has no choice but to squeeze it in between arcs.

Simply put, filler is inevitable with a series like this. Your complaining accomplishes nothing.

You're right, no matter how much I complain it's not gonna solve the problem, so what? I have a right to feel frustrated if a series I like, one of my favorite series infact, is being ruined by a lack of creative effort. And hey, I never said filler episodes weren't necessary, infact, I said the exact opposite in the post above yours! What bothers me more is that so many people are willing to come and post the exact same thing some one else has already posted, not contributing in any way with any kind of non-biased opinion, and not only that, apparentally failing to read any of the posts... I mean did you just have a bad day and decide to post here?

everyone knows this when engaging in this type of discussion* That doesn't mean we don't want to voice our opinions or lament on the quality of the filler. "Worst episode ever" threads will always be pointless, but so is hanging out at these forums discussing the series in the first place.

anyways, even though filler is required (which no one says it isn't, so stop bringing it up**) that doesn't mean that we shouldn't expect quality filler from a series or show we have come to enjoy. seriously now

*except the severely retarded who have the notion animesuki.com produces said anime, and yes, I've met one

**I am sick and tired of everytime someone complains about fillers, how some retard always says "FILLERS ARE NECESSARY" as if he had stated something novel, or something that wasn't common knowledge

simply put, your post is symptomatic of everything wrong with the naruto forum, which is mostly the intellectual naruto fans and the narutards arguing with each other

end rant.

I actually sort of like the fact we are having fillers. Naruto is become more and more about personal strength and not team work. I like how we get to see Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto in a team working together to archieve a common means for a bit longer before they go on with the main plot.

I am especially glad becuase this means Sakura gets more screen time while Sasuke is still an intelligent and relatively nice boy.

im definatly mixed. i hate it, then sometimes i can tolerate it...barely.

i would much rather see "fillers" of everyones past, or an arc about kakashi's and gai's s-missions after the detruction of konoha. i dont like the small little anecdote fillers that show no appreciaton to the current characters.

so i say, if your going to give us fillers, at least give us some substance. like, insight to the 4th, or the sannin.

Ori
2004-09-30, 02:16
That won't do because chances are those interesting arcs like insight to the 4th will be done in the manga later. Kakashi's and Gai's mission cannot do becuase Naruto is not in it and Naruto is the main character.

You never know if this filler will really be completely useless until the end. I figure these fillers may give some character developement for Sakura and maybe give Sasuke more reasons to betray Leaf.

I heard that Itachi is returning in episode 107, so maybe he'll send Sasuke back into angst mode and then he and Naruto will have their fight and from then on it will get back on track with the manga.

Or at least that's what I think.
