I agree with you, but the whole situation cries "Reset in X episodes! Reset is X episodes!" I still believe the one who will finally set everything to their place is Karasuma. What Karasuma does will affect, Tenma, which will affect Harima, and the whole domino will fall.

Well, that's a conversation between Miko-chin and Akira about the real feelings towards Hanai, Akira asks Miko-chin about the "face" she is trying to see in this situation (i think Akira tries to say if that face isnt Asou -_-').

Previously, Eri and Tenma are talking about the same with Miko-chin: if Hanai really loves her and if she love him back; Miko-chin says that is all a mess because she and Hanai are close but like brothers... the girls then says if she means like a family, Miko-chin is agree, but the girls then say if a family like husband and wife.

I see in the future of Hanai so much physical pain... :heh:

IIRC, when the girls asks Miko-chin about what happened between she and Asou, she was very "clear", she dated Asou because everybody thought they were a nice couple, but she wasnt too much sure about if Asou was "the one".
I think that neither Asou nor Hanai are for her, she had that serious crush on her senpai and i think she hasnt any confidence in men.

Everybody pushes her to "have" a boyfriend, but she isnt sure about it... leave the girl alone!!!

Besides, Akira is really pissing me off with her attitude of having the last word and the master piece of advice... worst character in Sukuran... she has some funny moments, but she fitted more in Azumanga... :heh:

Page 2: Mikoto is in a such a panic she's stuttering; she says (with near incoherence) that what Hanai just confessed was not something so deep in meaning as a full confession. Eri and Tenma see she's obviously in denail; Hanai just totally confessed to her. Mikoto continues her denial.

Eri: "Isn't it the fact that somewhere in your heart you've already accepted him? Hmm...?"
Mikoto: "Wha..."

Page 3:
Tenma: "While we weren't paying attention, the two of you have drawn so close to each other... *sparkles* lovers, neighbors separated only by one thin wall, the two of you..."
Mikoto: "Stop saying things I can't understand/process! There's no way Hanai and I could become like that! Don't you understand?? We're like... like siblings! It's like... we're closer than just strangers/acquaintances though. Right? Right??"
Tenma/Eri: Siblings...? I guess... it's kind of hard to visualize you two as bf/gf.
Akira: So essentially they're like family, right?

Mikoto: ....Eh?

Page 5. They decided to have a wedding right away, Mikoto is swept up in everyone's enthusiasm and unable to resist.

Page 6. Hanai: "Mikoto-kun, for sure, I will make you happy." *Said in the same way one would say to a prospective father in law, i.e. I will surely make your daughter happy.*
Mikoto: *Makes another priceless expression*

Page 7. Akira. "Honestly, how do you think/feel about this?" *To Mikoto*

Page 8. This is an important page but also harder to translate precisely. I'm trying to check with one more friend in order to obtain a more authoritative translation. A friend with better Japanese suggested this general translation: Akira asks Mikoto, will she continue this "act" forever should Hanai never recover, and never go and find another boyfriend? Mikoto has great difficulty answering, she dodges the question by saying that the situation is the same for Hanai (probably referring to their "act" of a relationship).

Akira: "But, Hanai may have realized already, from his own feelings." Not full understanding the context I'm not quite sure what this means; likely, Akira is referring to Hanai's reflection on why he felt so safe because of Mikoto, from the previous chapter.

Side bar: "Is it because XXX was unconscious?" Not exactly sure what XXX is referring to, likely referring to Hanai and/or Mikoto's feelings, likely Hanai's, again, from the previous chapter.

Conclusions: What we know for sure.
1)Yes, Amnesia Hanai did confess to Mikoto and is ready to marry her and make her happy.
2)Mikoto realizes that she and Hanai do sort of resemble a bickering couple that's been married for a while.
3)Hanai's "I'll make you happy line" did something to Mikoto, we don't know what, but it did something. Akira's mysterious words at the end (mysterious to me, anyways) also made Mikoto realize something. In other words, Mikoto's view of Hanai is undergoing some drastic change.

What appears certain is this: Regardless of how meeting Yakumo will affect Hanai's memory/feelings for Mikoto, Mikoto's narrow vision of Hanai has certainly expanded with new possibilities, though not necessarily to the point that she would admit she loved him romantically, which Eri has done for Harima. It's an irreversible gain for Flag faction, though how conclusive a gain remains to be seen.

More precisely, Asou was totally into her. She was a bit iffy about it and kinda shied away from full out commitment/the conventional bf/gf stuff, or felt uncomfortable acting girl. After talking with the school nurse however, she decides she's going to make an effort and "try to do it right" (i.e. relationships require effort on both sides to build) and confess to Asou properly. However, Asou breaks up with her before this can happen. His reason? Because he realizes that she's more comfortable being friends with him than doing romantic bf/gf things. Moreover, he saw pictures showing that Mikoto was most comfortable and herself hanging out with a certain four-eyed idiot.

Asou handed himself the "good guy" card in a preemptive strike. I'll not pass judgment on his choice, but that's how it happened.

Really, Flute has been foreshadowed since very early on in the manga, the b chapter from where the faction draws its name. Even Hanai's own imagination betrayed him when he tried to picture married life with Yakumo and instead saw himself married to Mikoto with four kids (the same four kids that were in Mikoto's fantasy, no less). If that wasn't an indication of Hanai's true secret feelings, I don't know what else it could have been.

Of course the wedding is going to get broken up by Yakumo triggering Hanai's memories, but Mikoto should be very affected by the whole experience. She DID agree to go out with Hanai at the end of 250, after all. Meanwhile Asou was just given closure with Mikoto and a couple of suggestive scenes with Sara, his other potential love interest. Page 2: Mikoto is in a such a panic she's stuttering; she says (with near incoherence) that what Hanai just confessed was not something so deep in meaning as a full confession. Eri and Tenma see she's obviously in denail; Hanai just totally confessed to her. Mikoto continues her denial.

Eri: "Isn't it the fact that somewhere in your heart you've already accepted him? Hmm...?"
Mikoto: "Wha..."

Page 3:
Tenma: "While we weren't paying attention, the two of you have drawn so close to each other... *sparkles* lovers, neighbors separated only by one thin wall, the two of you..."
Mikoto: "Stop saying things I can't understand/process! There's no way Hanai and I could become like that! Don't you understand?? We're like... like siblings! It's like... we're closer than just strangers/acquaintances though. Right? Right??"
Tenma/Eri: Siblings...? I guess... it's kind of hard to visualize you two as bf/gf.
Akira: So essentially they're like family, right?

Page 4:
Akira: If that's the case... could they also be like a married couple???
Mikoto: ....Eh?
Tenma/Eri: Well, how about it, Mikoto? Rather than GF/BF, doesn't it feel more natural to compare your relationship with Hanai like that of a married couple?
Mikoto: *Makes complex expression, you need to see it in order to understand*
Tenma/Eri: "AH, SHE CONSIDERED IT! SHE Considered it! No way, Amazing! *General meaning here is: rather than bf/gf, the idea of them acting like a married couple here is more natural to Mikoto*"
Mikoto: *Wakes up* "AH!!! No, that's not it!"

Page 5. They decided to have a wedding right away, Mikoto is swept up in everyone's enthusiasm and unable to resist.

Page 6. Hanai: "Mikoto-kun, for sure, I will make you happy." *Said in the same way one would say to a prospective father in law, i.e. I will surely make your daughter happy.*
Mikoto: *Makes another priceless expression*

Page 7. Akira. "Honestly, how do you think/feel about this?" *To Mikoto*

Page 8. This is an important page but also harder to translate precisely. I'm trying to check with one more friend in order to obtain a more authoritative translation. A friend with better Japanese suggested this general translation: Akira asks Mikoto, will she continue this "act" forever should Hanai never recover, and never go and find another boyfriend? Mikoto has great difficulty answering, she dodges the question by saying that the situation is the same for Hanai (probably referring to their "act" of a relationship).

Akira: "But, Hanai may have realized already, from his own feelings." Not full understanding the context I'm not quite sure what this means; likely, Akira is referring to Hanai's reflection on why he felt so safe because of Mikoto, from the previous chapter.

Side bar: "Is it because XXX was unconscious?" Not exactly sure what XXX is referring to, likely referring to Hanai and/or Mikoto's feelings, likely Hanai's, again, from the previous chapter.

Conclusions: What we know for sure.
1)Yes, Amnesia Hanai did confess to Mikoto and is ready to marry her and make her happy.
2)Mikoto realizes that she and Hanai do sort of resemble a bickering couple that's been married for a while.
3)Hanai's "I'll make you happy line" did something to Mikoto, we don't know what, but it did something. Akira's mysterious words at the end (mysterious to me, anyways) also made Mikoto realize something. In other words, Mikoto's view of Hanai is undergoing some drastic change.

What appears certain is this: Regardless of how meeting Yakumo will affect Hanai's memory/feelings for Mikoto, Mikoto's narrow vision of Hanai has certainly expanded with new possibilities, though not necessarily to the point that she would admit she loved him romantically, which Eri has done for Harima. It's an irreversible gain for Flag faction, though how conclusive a gain remains to be seen.

Mikoto has been through the same sort of mixed feelings before, at the time of the student council elections (around Ch.220 or so). If you aren't completely caught back up yet, you might want to check that part of the story out.

In that arc as well, Mikoto's feelings for Hanai were in flux, but her interest in him was due to her need for security. At the time, everyone around her (including Hanai) was working towards their career goals, and she was feeling left behind. But the instant that she confirmed that Hanai was the same as always, she lost interest, since she felt secure again.

It shouldn't be too hard to bring about a flute ending, but I'd rather see it developed by expanding on the feelings that the two have for each other, rather than just forcing them on to each other. But that's just me. :heh:

More precisely, Asou was totally into her. She was a bit iffy about it and kinda shied away from full out commitment/the conventional bf/gf stuff, or felt uncomfortable acting girl. After talking with the school nurse however, she decides she's going to make an effort and "try to do it right" (i.e. relationships require effort on both sides to build) and confess to Asou properly. However, Asou breaks up with her before this can happen. His reason? Because he realizes that she's more comfortable being friends with him than doing romantic bf/gf things. Moreover, he saw pictures showing that Mikoto was most comfortable and herself hanging out with a certain four-eyed idiot.

Asou handed himself the "good guy" card in a preemptive strike. I'll not pass judgment on his choice, but that's how it happened.

Funny, I never saw her very "iffy" about it. It seemed like she developed feelings for him, and the guidebook confirms that. Asou needs to remember that Mikoto grew up with boys and she's a tomboy. Her weakness is dating; doesn't mean the relationship can't improve. X'D

Right now, I think her feelings are being tested. It's up in the air.

Meanwhile Asou was just given closure with Mikoto and a couple of suggestive scenes with Sara, his other potential love interest. I will be totally astonished if Flute doesn't end up being a successful pairing in the end; IMO, it's close behind Imadori/Ichijou in inevitability.

Sara is a nun. And she actually hints to Asou "looking" at Mikoto, so I don't see Chinese Food Faction in the way of Basketball.

I think there's a big chance Flute won't happen, with the simple fact they're close but only as childhood friends. Now... Imadori/Ichijou is in another league. THAT is almost inevitable. <3

At this point i think is better to Mikochin to be alone, everyone is forcing her to pick Asou or Hanai and the world is bigger than they. Akira is so wrong in how she puts the things to the girls, she is forcing the situations too much, first between Eri & Harima with the script's movie and now with Mikochin & Hanai with this "marriage" thing.

The "real" Hanai is in love of Yakumo, Mikochin doesnt have a real love, Asou is full of doubts and with an inferiority complex about Hanai. The only way to basketball to happen is up to Asou and we can see he doesnt have enough courage.

I think Mikochin is looking for "friends" and not for "boyfriends", the conversation with Asou and Hanai in this chapters are very clear. But the girls are pushing her to have a relationship almost like a "girl duty".

Nah. The majority of flaggers are pretty easygoing, because it's the mainstream pairing. Usually it's the niche groups that are really hardcore about their shipping, because they feel like they have to compensate somehow.

What i tried to said is about the personality of Yakumo, she reacted releasing a lot of issues, she assumed a protective rol on Tenma and at first she thought that Eri was being mean to Tenma, but Yakumo also realizes that she was jealous of Eri. So finally she said to Sarah that she knows about Eri's feelings towards Harima and that hurts her.

So... i said "its Yakumo" for the "reset issue" and "its school rumble" for the "think in one way and act in another".

Yakumo is the type of person who is always keeping her feelings inside, but there is a limit and she just exploded.

It's surprising because Yakumo is usually the rational one in the series, and she rarely throws herself headlong into a conflict without trying to understand what's going on. She usually tries to resolve conflicts, rather than to create them.

In that chapter, she jumps in and hits Eri before she actually knows why Eri was angry in the first place, or without understanding what caused the conflict between Eri and Tenma. That's why Yakumo breaks down into tears when she finally realizes what she did.

It just seems a bit unusual for her.

B57 features Mikoto and Hanai in AU 19th century London setting. Hanai is a tailor who wishes to help the poor who lives in his neighborhood and Mikoto is his supportive wife who is exasperated but ultimately supports his noble ideals. They're expecting a baby. The last page is a gag ending, but damn if Kobayashi isn't following on the Flute Faction attack.

It depends on how you see things. You could chalk up the whole Tenma attraction thing to Harima's need to win at everything he puts his mind to. But it's not like you could say either for sure.

And frankly, you could write off anyone's actions in this story as being stupid, since we have perfect knowledge of everything that happens in the story. I'm sure that if Eri had our knowledge, she could have done things better. But did you have a point to this?

I don't know but Tenma does help out Harima's character.... and I think it was because of her that made Eri liked Harima....

Although indirectly...Harima tends to build up a kind of character that will attract the likes of Eri.

I'm not sure but Harima does act a lot "natural" to other characters in the story aside from Tenma....What i mean is that...he is interesting on Eri's eyes for: He's a guy who unlike/dislike

In retrospect, Eri tends to be popular to majority of guys and men(if not...all) and yet here comes a guy who doesn't even bother her... And about Harimas thoughts about Eri. Read again the chapter after Eri destroyed his manga, when Yakumo finds him in the park. I think it's more than enough to understand, that he hates rich and bossy people in general, but Eri became exeptiom from this rule... and as i think, he also tries to avoid her coz "ojou really IS a bad omen" for him - every time he enteractas with her leads to misunderstandings or physical damage)

Hehe.......Even though Tenma will disappear at any means other than death, it is not enough for Harima to forget about Tenma......He'll just escape the reality and divert himself to other stuffs, like drawing manga and being a hermit. I guess, Harima needs to be "pierced deeply in his emotions"......meaning....he needs to be busted by Tenma herself,,,Well, there's still a great chance that he'll still escape reality...but it is a greater chance to be in good terms with Harima, in Eri's part, since Harima is hopless against Tenma anymore ( unless he's not concieted enough to be hopeful).......When that time comes, i hope that Eri knows what to do... (at the least, Eri should still have feelings for Harima for it to happen.....and i greatly wish for that.)

Personally I really don't care on the unrelated/inconsistent/neglected facts since this IS anime. But i (everyone) would greatly appreciate if such things are reduced.. I mean if the facts are correlated/considered to the plot setting....

Well..considering that the author considered such facts...then i guess that:

1.not related harima's brother hair color?
Is really a matter of genes and doesn't provide "absolute" basis for likes and dislikes between individuals of a family. Ex. any black haired couple could bring up a child having a brown hair. Which is possible but has a lesser chance than bringing up a black-haired child.

2.Harima/Tsukamoto family background?
I guess that these contain a potential conflict/hole/support for future plots in terms of comedy. misunderstanding,romance,(just maybe) a serious romance and mild to hardcore drama(which is unlikely but still possible).

3.Kenji=beast master ability?
I forgot!....^^ (must reread)

4.School Rumble=true life expirience?
I really don't know about it...but i'm not bothered if it is a true-life-experience or purely an ideal world for a romantic comedy scenario..... as long as it can make me laugh and wonder the flow of the story and their character development then i'm fine with it...^^

That was one of those mysterious Karasuma moments that defy explanation. He may have changed his mind later on (since he has shown no inclination to approach Tenma until this recent meeting with Yakumo), or he may have been saying the opposite of what he was thinking because Harima had caught him in an unpleasant situation.

Barring any sudden reversals of Karasuma's terminal(?) illness, the situation does seem to favor Oudou the most. Karasuma has always been the biggest obstacle between Harima and Tenma; with his departure, it will be much easier for Tenma to see Harima in a non-platonic light. Also, chapter 256 was pretty positive for Oudou, with the two-page spread of Harima and Tenma walking through the forest and their later gazing at the moon together. Never ever ever bet against the main guy and girl (well, main girl of original intent) in a romantic comedy.

What I don't get is why Karasuma did not ask Tenma to be his girlfriend, since Chapter 257 appers to strongly reinforce the notion that Karasuma does have feelings for Tenma.

It would seem Karasuma only said that then so Harima would do something stupid. Such is the fate of a plot device like Karasuma.

This goes beyond real conflict, to the level of utter impossibility. Previously there was always the possibility that Karasuma might choose to stay indefinitely, but now that appears to be ruled out. I think you're reading too much into it. Harima just let Tenma go to Karasuma; he has nothing to do for the rest of the night, as long as Tenma is with Karasuma. Harima probably expects that Tenma will get together with Karasuma, but due to Karasuma's condition this is probably impossible. So, unless Harima hooks up with someone else immediately, he will probably still be waiting when Tenma returns.

Start reading the manga dude you'll have a good time but lately the comedy has been relatively uneven.

The manga is not ending and the end is not in sight, more is still coming until the endless cycle
of the characters going back from where they started, no development whatsoever, and the joy of reading it wears itself out... or the Mangaka gets bored by his own work and really starts making a comedic masterpiece of an ending.

I really wish it would end or at least give us a major development that hints to an end or else I'd have to agree with Jason Thompson in his complete guide to Manga where he stated that "School Rumble wants to be a slapstick deconstruction of high school manga romantic comedies, but the problem is that this kind of material already parodies itself...their stories are short and predictable." He rated School Rumble a miserable 2 stars out of 4 (another interesting note, one line caught my attention though: "Karasuma is a shy high school delinquent who has a crush on Tenma" ... What?!)...If you ask me I'd rate SR a 3 1/2 out of 4 and that Thompson guy really doesn't know his School Rumble manga.

Nevertheless, that's truly weird. Harima always freaks out when he sees or knows of Karasuma being w/ Tenma. A notable exception was on her birthday when he told him she was expecting him to show up.

Due to lack of discussion of the latest chapters in English forums, I've started browsing the 2chan School Rumble threads. Since I cannot actually read Japanese, this has been somewhat difficult. But, using Google translation, I have gotten a general idea of their conversation.

It seems that they are mainly obsessed with the current dilemma of Karasuma's health. Many have suggested that Tenma would go to America to be with Karasuma, or that her praying for him could result in a miraculous cure (as little Tenma got a dying cherry tree to blossom in a recent b chapter, though it was still chopped down in the end). However, it seems to me that most of these ideas are out of place in the comedy that is School Rumble; either Tenma and Harima will never learn about Karasuma's illness and thus not be crippled by angst or it will all turn out to be a gigantic misunderstanding.

At any rate, unless there is yet another implausible reset, the situation between Tenma and Karasuma should be resolved in the very near future, i.e. by the end of the walking festival, which should have a huge impact on Harima's story.

Putting that aside, I'm somewhat convinced that there might be a misunderstanding somewhere along the lines. If I remember correctly, Karasuma's illness was terminal, right? Unless they wish to keep him in the story (and probably in effect Tenma...Unless KJ wants to transfer the attention over to the other characters again or back to Eri as well as Harima and Yakumo provided the latter stays), it's going to be a pretty big development.

If you look at how SR develops though....RESET TIME. :p

Harima was about to confess everything, and then Tenma cluelessly stops him by asking him to leave her alone with Karasuma when they find him, confirming yet again that she has no feelings for Harima. So he goes "orz" and meets up with Yakumo, who just wants a hug. ;_;

Sure, Harima looks to have given up on Tenma now, but come on. This is SR. I expect a switchback within two chapters or so, unless we get more side-character focus instead.

Oh well...Considering the recent turn of events (Only up to 252), it does seem like yet another repeat of the same old scenario: Harima gives up only to have someone else or something else unwittingly encourage him, thus resulting in him going back for Tenma and a RESET.

There is a somewhat greater chance now, though, that this might change, one namely because of Karasuma's 'disease' and Yakumo's desperation to get him to tell Tenma how he feels before he 'dies' (Yeah, well, lots of people are thinking RESET here). Another factor would be that Harima now actually thinks Tenma has 'always thought of him' as a fatherly figure, like Yakumo so much earlier when she saw her father's silhouette in Harima when he was staying over.

And what's up with the 'Nice Assist' from Eri? I can't find a logical explanation, unless we get a little more spotlight on her now that the focus has shifted mostly to Oudou, True Oudou and a bit of Onigiri.

I wouldn't really say 'beating', but more of 'taking the back seat'. What happened with Onigiri in recent chapters (Ah well, I know a couple of people who are going to twist and turn things to make it sound as though 'THERE IS NO ONIGIRI' in recent chapters, but what the heck :heh: ) should show that we don't know jack about what's going to happen next with our favorite pairings.

the author really needs to make it s story advance at some point, i only watched the first season, read the last 4 chapter and the story still hasnt advance, i dont get the feeling that i missed any important event.

Hmmm....

I have to agree 258 certainly got up some hopes for Onigiri. Up till near the end, it was playing out like a typical 'female tries to confess but dense male protagonist mistakes it' scenario. Of course, it all turns out to be a misunderstanding on Harima's, Yakumo's (What a reaction :heh: ) and the three girls' part.

The part with Yakumo was pretty nice and would most probably clear away all doubts as to who she really liked. Probably the first time we get to see that kind of an expression on her otherwise 'stoic' face. The wait for this chapter was certainly worth it. (And a big thank you to Townsocks once again for his work on translating the chapters :) ).

Another point to take note of is that Harima continues to have an automated reaction from just looking at Karasuma and Tenma together. You have to admit, it does look somewhat good for a reset of some sorts.

Eri, Eri, quite contrary...Hm. I get the feeling here that she hasn't quite given up, so Flaggers can take it easy since her time to take centrestage should be coming soon enough.

Seems like this chapter focused on True Odou. Tenma and Karasuma talking at the beach, then Eri, Mikoto and Akira saw them, they seem to be happy for Tenma and Mikoto teases Eri...maybe Harima again. And when Tenma was about to confess her feelings to Karasuma. The idiot Tougo shouted for a running competition. Harima on his knees on the last page and Tenma doing her trademark vortex spin.

Now that's another possibility. Judging from his reaction while he walked with Yakumo on the beach, though, it seems that Harima's actually still fixated on Tenma. Yakumo, on the other hand, seems to think nothing of it (the near-miss confession) yet. Unless we get to see some more interesting monologue from her POV later, I guess. She strikes me as the type that is more receptive to the meaning behind what other people do, but please do refute me if there's any evidence to defeat my claim. :heh:

Please, this is Harima we're talking about. Astrophysicists have theorized the existence of objects called "quark stars": remnants of supernovae possessing such great gravity that their neutron degeneracy pressure may be overpowered, crushing the neutrons and producing matter made up of unbelievably tightly packed quarks; this matter would be the densest state in existence next to the infinitely compact matter within the event horizons of black holes...

...but still not as dense as Harima. This is the guy who had no clue of Eri's feelings for him until Yakumo flat out told him, despite everything that he went through with her. I guarantee you that Harima did not suspect whom Yakumo really loved.

Well, Max was reintroduced fairly recently... but more importantly, Harima still loves Tenma and her relationship with Karasuma appears to be very doomed at the moment. Short of a miracle (or an epic misunderstanding of his illness by Yakumo and us), Tenma will not be having a happy ending with Karasuma, and guess who is Karasuma's understudy...

Huh this thread is rather a long one... And as I am reading through it, it is almost as exiting to read as the school rumble itself... Being new here, I think I'll say something about my prefs in the SR, so my current top 5 characters are (more or less in this order): Yakumo, Eri, Harima, Ichijou and Mikoto and I am still unsure about whether to support Flag or Onigiri faction, though thanks to the recent chapters I tend to pref Onigiri a little more ATM...

Also I'd like to add some comments as to what I think the coupling might turn out:

Tenma: I think it is obvious she'll end up with Ooji or with nobody. In past I was also thinking about Togou and Nara, but I already abandoned the idea of those two... And how it will end up with Karasuma? I think there are three possibilities, all of them including tenma/ooji confessions in the airport

1. Karasuma will make promise he'll return back to her whenever he can (well, this is sorta like mimi wo sumaseba ending... this requires his illness to be misunderstanding or made up, or at least not lethal)
2. Karasuma will play the hard man role and says he don't want Tenma to see him dying and leaves.
3. Karasuma will decide to stay and his illness will be proven to be a misunderstanding

while 1. and 3. requires some SR-like resolution to the Ooji's illness thing, only the 1. IMHO makes way for third year. So we'll either see end of SR soon, or will be given another 200+ chapters :)

Harima: Kenji's tunnel vision will end just as it started (IMHO), i.e. in one moment; though when and how this will happen I have no idea, but I am almost certain Tenma won't play any role in it. IMHO there are only the possibilities of Kenji ending up with Eri or Yakumo. But from looking how the relationships between them are, I think KJ already decided for him to end up with Yakumo.

Though his behaviour to both Eri and Yakumo is different from how he treats others, I don't think he can build a romantic relationship with Eri. I think they are perfect together as they are now, but if Eri broke through his tunnel vision I am sure their relationship would end as "best friends". As for Yakumo, it seems to me, there are hints Harima actually loves her, though romantically, not 'beastly' like he does love Tenma and it is only that his tunnel-visioned self is not yet aware of it. But if you think of it, Yakumo is the only one he was never bad at, he always behave like quite a different person around her, I do not remember even a single time him accusing her or shouting at her. Also the sensation he felt when their hands touched, he had not this feeling with anyone else including Tenma (or at least I don't remember such).

Once his tunnel vision is broken, I think he'll be bound to realize the fact that he harbour deep feelings for Yakumo, but there is no chance his love for Yakumo will end up like the one he has for Tenma, so we should not fear of Yakumo being able to read his mind, since I don't think he could be able to think towards Yakumo in a way that would insult/angry her.

Mikoto x Hanai: You know, I am a fan of this one, and some of the recent chapter suggested KJ might be leaning this way too. I see Hanai's tunnel vision is being broken and Mikoto seems to begin to realize she has some feelings for him as well...

Ichijou x Imadori: This one is set... There is no doubt that Ichijou is in love with Imadori and there are strong hints that even though Ichijou is not a *D-cup* he has a soft point for her and unconsciously is being attracted to her.

And what will happen to Eri? I think her feelings for Harima will fade out slowly and the two end up as a best friends, though the idea of these two being a romantic couple is entertaining as well :D

And the others will probably end up being single (save for the already coupled ones).

My conclusion is that we are finally heading for final conclusion and break of Harima's and Hanai's tunnel visions, or that we are heading to another 200+ chapters :D And I really don't know what I would appreciate more...

I think somebody has underestimated how dense Harima is. It is bottomless! Anyone who's familiar with Harima knows that when he says "You Love Manga!" he means it as it is, no hidden intentions whatsoever. But there is still hope for Onigiri as Yakumo still has her manga job and Harima is still oblivious to her feelings.
Instead my heart bled for Eri after she said "I wasn't even chosen." Red alert for Flag. I'm guessing that she will eventually tell Tenma of Harima's feelings for her since basically everybody but Tenma knows, but my guess is not soon.
I'm also guessing that Karamusa won't die, since he's going to America, Dr. Gregory House can fix him up, kidding aside I can't see SR going in that direction.

Eri and Mikoto both know about Harima's feelings for Tenma. Eri began to suspect it after seeing Harima with Tenma at her birthday party and confirmed it for herself when Harima chose Tenma over his manuscript. Mikoto has never shown knowledge of Harima's true feelings before; Eri and/or Akira must have told her recently.

I think your thinking a little to much into it. School Rumble is all about misunderstandings. This was just another classic case of it.

But damn chapter 258 was one of my favorite chapters in School Rumble. I guess I can take 1 good chapter for ever 30 bad chapters. :heh:

At least Yakumo's character has some development in this chapter. The last two chapters she has been very emotional towards Harima.

Well as a friend Harima will always be there also for Yakumo. But as of now the turn of events Yakumo has not yet asked Harima for any favors. but maybe in the future chapters she might say

"Harima-san please forget about nee-san...she loves someone else." or something like that to him. I think due to his respect and alot of I OWE YOU to Yakumo he might do what she says and this might make a way for Harima to look for another or just be the same old ass kicking delinquent.


About KJ's Hentai Kamen version there's 2 chapters I saw. But there all raw. Hmm seems KJ's Hentai Kamen has more flare than his Natsu no Arashi. Just wish Yakumo would smile more like Shunka in HK....

Karasuma was speeding up to stop Tenma from confessing to him because he doesn't want to complicate the situation further. So him turning around to help Tenma is a little bit strange and it seems somewhat likely that the "Karasuma" on the last page seen by sun-dazzled Tenma is actually Harima.

I don't think anyone would not understand why Harima attacked Karasuma, after he broke Tenma's heart. It will be more interesting if Karasuma is the one to beat up Harima (remember how strong he is).
