I downloaded the torrent and I read the first 7 chapters or so (66 pages). I hate to say this, but I think the scanslation is pretty shitty. I know I should appreciate the fact that there IS a scanslation, but there are parts that aren't translated and parts that are translated poorly, so it makes the manga much less enjoyable than it would be if I just read the Japanese version. There are several instances where the translation makes the context of the situation ambiguous and unclear, like when Harima saw the foreigner's name on the class list and hit the guy who told him.

I'll keep reading but I still think that the anime is about 1,000x better due to the excellent translation there.

Also what's with each chapter being so freaking short? It makes the manga feel so episodic and I hate that. :upset:

I've pretty much stopped reading the scanlations because at times, especially during scenes that you know should be funny, the translated text is anything but funny. Most times it's down right confusing... :confused:

Well I'm sorry, but I'm enjoying it :heh: But Manga Inc's translator is just doing a horrible job, I mean, wow, left alot of it untranslated at times. I remember one time, he just put a "blah blah blah" instead of translating the real thing, and he puts a note about it.

The translator is listed somrewhere on the website, see if we can email the person :) But really, manga inc' is working on vol 5 at the moment, vol 6 is like completed in japan, and on to vol 7. So technically, I'm two books ahead :p

Where was I when the manga was yet to be animated? Let's see, I was talking to people I already knew about the translation quality. And I was asking people I knew if they wanted to do the upcoming anime with me, with this:

Shoddily tossed together in one sitting using GMAO back in August. First time trying to use that program. Meh. And in the end I didn't exactly get a landslide of interest, but oh well.

You've never seen it, of course, because... well... I didn't care about the leechers enough to release it to them. I handed it out to various people I knew in the community as a treat because I was putting it together to see if anybody wanted to do the anime with me anyway. If I made it a public release, people would have asked for more, and I've got enough projects on my plate already.

I might toss it out into the open eventually, but I guess I should clean it up a bit first. I've got other anime and manga projects to worry about for now.

I'm minded of the words that a person's quality of work is in direct purportion of it's quality of effort. So while a translation is appreciated for this gem, a bit more effort could have gone into 3 areas:

1 Grammer and spelling. Be it Queen's or American English, a reader of the language at it's most basic level will know when something doesn't make sense. Is it so hard to flip open a dictionary or better yet use an auto-check program in the draft? Granted it's a chore to translate from one language to the next, but some of the sentences look like it's been run through Babblefish- only with spelling errors.

2 Structure of sentences. This isn't about grammer, this part is about presenting the text in a manner that is clear and cohesive to it's reader. There are a number of instances in the translations when an entire sentence is split between 2-3 text bubbles. I'd be reading through a page when I'm suddenly forced to stop and look for the next word in a sentence. Common sense tells you a direct translation isn't going to work, people are programed to read English in a straight line or within a text bubble before moving on. So use your discretion to keep the story in flow.

3 Wherever possible, keep things simple. The majority of blokes who are going to read this after leaching it off your servers are admittedly even poorer in the Japanese language than yourself. For the benifit of these poor unfortunate fools [like myself] a more expansive set of translation footnotes for the jokes and cultural references would be helpful.

Last bit, change your attitude. An answer like this:

everyone will just write off as lazy, arrant and self serving. We'd give you the respect due for exercising a skill in language by translating from Japanese to English. And that's only because this is something many here just can't do. Is it so wrong to say that it's going to defeat the purpose of the translation when your English needs exercising as well? 5 translated volumes and no clear improvement in all 3 areas mentioned above throughtout reflects badly on the command of the language. So screw perfection because people here aren't looking for that, only the minimum expectation of the work done.

Other than that, I largely agree with your sentiments. The original tagline for Manga! Inc. was "some sloppily scanslated manga" back when the School Rumble translation was started. To my knowledge the only person proofing the scripts, inputting the text, and doing final quality assurance on the earlier chapters (and most of the later chapters) was the translator himself.

From my conversations with the translator on the manga project, this has been simply an exercise in reading a fun little manga and sharing the results of his translation with folks that may be interested. I don't think anybody should be surprised that there are some errors (especially in the first few chapters, at the beginning of his experience as a translator) and the lack of stringent QA standards, and I certainly don't think anybody should be getting as worked up as Nubby appears to be over this.

Back to the topic of the manga itself: my main problem with SR these days is that it seems to have degenerated into a formulaic romantic comedy, with about as much hope for significant forward progress in the plotline as One Piece (which I love, but dear God, are they ever going to find the dang treasure?). The way that the plot is failing to progress leaves me with some small expectation that this title will stretch on and on, with new stories fueled simply by a compulsive need to create a popular product instead of actually telling a story to its resolution. I'm hoping the mangaka will wrap it up in the next volume or so.

School Rumble raws covering chapter 1 through 103 (including the b chapters, if I recall correctly) were recently put up in a torrent on http://www.mirkx.com/. I'd give a direct link, but it's my understanding that linking to raws isn't permitted in this forum.

Regarding the tension... I don't think it's really as bad as it looks. Mangainc was considering ending his career as a translator before the SR anime came out, and it shouldn't have come as a big surprise to regulars in the #mangainc channel. We received an offer for supplemental translation service this afternoon, so it is entirely possible that the title will see revised versions of the earlier chapters, possibly complete with some editorial constraint (sanity-checking on the English text, etc).

Nothing is really firmed up right now other than that Inky has disappeared off IRC and has posted elsewhere that he won't be scanslating anymore. Apparently he's jumping off a building somewhere.

For the manga plotline, I am worried about where it is heading. Most people here have read up to chapter 70 for the translation, the main object to Tenma's affection has disappeared [we still don't know too much about him] and maybe 3 girls have unclear feeling for Harima >_<

Eri probably wants to beat him with a large stick. Unfortunately, the girl has a real big streak of green so it's likely she want to be the 'Only' one to do it. :eyebrow: Their 'encounters' have been the really funny point of the manga thus far.

Yakumo can't mind-read this guy [damned dangerous ability to have btw], and it's only much later when I figured out her abilities are limited to dirty minded fools who love her [I blame the translation :p] and her sister. He's either too dense, or really is a nice and straight guy [or all the above :heh:]. She is probably curious on finally meeting a guy who doesn't think of her as a sex object, like 99% of the male population.

I'd add the older girl who keeps showing up, but I don't know her name and she's pretty much underdeveloped

The thing is, the manga is going to end the moment:
a Tenma hooks up properly with someone [can be Ouji, the wimp or the poor suffering fool above]
b Or when the Harima finally does.

Till then, the writer has to milk the side stories and franchise until blood comes out and this dies a natural death.

I somewhat disagree with the interpretation about who Yakumo's abilities do and do not work with. She seemed genuinely surprised when she couldn't read Kenji. She can't read that cat's mind, either, so I suspect that Kenji's own telepathic abilities are involved in her inability to read him.

Note that she was able to read her sister when playing ro-sham-bo. She lost because her Tsukamoto is so scatterbrained that there was no clear read to get.
But that's just a matter of interpretation, and probably doesn't have a heck of a lot to do with the ultimate resolution of the storyline, if a resolution will ever actually come.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they are extremely similar. There are some things that happen in the anime that didn't happen in the manga, and likewise there are some things said in the manga that don't happen in the anime.

As an example of each take the anime episode where the class is going on a field trip. In the anime Tenma is constantly trying to think of what to say before she goes and sits next to Karasuma-kun, and seeing this Sawachika intentionally beats her to the punch. In the manga, Tenma doesn't worry about what to say at all and Sawachika unknowingly sits next to Karasuma (or at least there are no signs she did it to piss Tenma off intentionally). Also in the manga Tenma actually does make it to the seat next to Karasuma, but she finds in his place an old man (the bus driver) is sitting there and Karasuma is now driving the bus.

There's just a lot of subtle differences like these thrown all over the place, and a lot of side/minor dialogue is in the manga that isn't in the anime. However, at least from the first volume that mangainc translated they left out nearly all of this side/minor dialogue so you probably won't learn anything new.

In the b06 of the official Chinese version of the 3rd volume of the manga released in Hong Kong,
Akira lets Hanai join the tea club, which is not true in the anime version (ep 5).
..... that's very frustrating :frustrated:
since Akira letting him join would be an important evidence for Akira-actually-like-Hanai

I think everyone will agree that this is superior to mangaincs version both in translation and editing job. Even if you already read mangainc SR, I recommend you download this and compare the two. Our version doesn't have missing content and the translations are much, much more accurate. I know this because I did the translation myself. :D Oh, and ed from dash fansubs translated the first chapter as well, so there's even more reason for you to go d/l it!

As for editing corrections, I'd like to hear them, although I don't think we'll go back and change the releases unless it's something major.

Ever since Taiwan enforced their copyright laws, they have no more mass flooding of illegal bootlegs around in their markets or coming out of it.

The mass of bootlegs coming out these days are from Hong Kong and China. It also seems that they are getting smarter to the demographics of their purchasers ( I just saw an English subtitle only, all region bootleg being sold ).

With that said, I am sour that Tong Li's Vol 5 of School Rumble have not come into my shores yet. So here I sit with the first 4 volumes, staring at Yakumo on Vol 2. :heh:

Yeah, I wasn't completely satisfied with my translation job either. The mangaka writes a lot of the small dialogue by hand and sometimes the kanji are SOOOOOOO messy I can't figure out what they are, even after half an hour of looking it up. :( But this was my first translation job and I think I got better as it as I went thru the chapter, so I think I'll continue to improve in Volume 2 and beyond. :D

For some odd reason, the side comments weren't in our Volume 1 RAWs. We have no idea why. Sorry. But they are in the Volume 2 RAWs so you can look forward to that.

To my knowledge nobody has put anything like this up. Most of the folks that have been keeping up with the latest raws know how to read Japanese and hence didn't have to create scripts. Give Roots some breathing room and I'm sure he'll be caught up in no time.

The thing is, Tenma never really grows up in the series. Sure she's funny in a dense as concrete sort of way, but you can only carry that so far. Harima on the other hand goes from bad boy to having a very interesting creative outlet for his rage, frustration and disappointment in love. He very nearly scores big on a number of occasions. Damn, you Harima. What's wrong with hitting it when a hot older women offers? Other than the fact that you're 16 years old :heh: Really, his self restraint is pretty much legendary by now. ^^;

Eri on the otherhand gets sucked into the wake of Harima's misadventures, she has no choice but to adapt or else kill the guy. Watching the girl operate in situations where money and orders don't work has been a blast thus far. It's also rather painful for him, so the comedy can't be far behind. My money is on this pair, even though it looks like they are sitting on an atomic bomb >_<

Does anyone know of some softwares good for making character relation graph? I used mspaint previously, but anyone seen up to #109 would know the relations are now really messy, so, mspaint is very incompetent....

I suppose if the graph gets too large you can break it down so that it centers around one person and just ignore anyone too remotely connected to them. Say just on Harima and what ppl think fo him and vice versa. Ya, it means more charts- unless you know how to create a fully rotatable 3d structure with the crew.

Of course, this is less of a headache trying to fit one more fool into the picture when there isn't enough space and you can't follow the arrows anymore.

That particular manga chapter [no72] happens to be one of my favourites. Great WTF moment at the end :heh: Don't know to call Harima lucky or just plain screwed when hot older girl/teacher glomps him- and the entire class walks in on the scene. :eyespin:

What are you speculations regarding Karasuma's "I tried to be careful when I came, but in the end I got careless" ?

Did he and Eri pull a double KO? Or was he careless in letting Tenma discover him? Or was it something else?

If it's her, then the story is explained in chapter 'flat-23' (b-23)

Regarding Hanai, it seems his variable-tint glasses have a huge effect.

If he could somehow keep his glasses on low tint, then he'd probably be popular.
(That, and he has to stop speaking his mind so freely...)

...and yes, b-23 does portray his more romantic side.

What I'm not to clear about is what does the survivor finally get out of this game at the end?

I think the winning group gets to do their event during the culture festival (or something like that?)

(Harima wants to joing the play where he and Tenma are paired as the leads, Hanai wants Yakumo to assist their 'shop'? Karen wants to perform with the band.[I wanted to put Oji instead of Karen, but one can NEVER understand Oji, so...])

Both Hanai and Harima were scary this chapter, showing off their 1337 skills. Harima especially, considering that he actually knew how many bullets Mikoto had left.

Too bad Oji forfeited / retreated though, cuz I would have liked to see a 1 vs. 1 vs. 1 free-for-all at the end.

heh... now watch Tenma just walk to the other group and take the flag casually while they're duking it out on the roof.

or better yet, watch Akira somehow get everyone killed (e.g. detonate building / gas / grenade), and then her video ends up being the event.

Wow Oji is soooooo cool in the past 2 chapters. and Harima looks EVIL in 110... however I'd say all is not well for him... although he is winning the battle, he is losing the war... He has made the biggest mistake of leaving Tenma to ambush Hanai&Mikoto, resulting in Oji and Tenma together doing the emotional "I'll die for you" show... both Tenma and Oji win big time, with Tenma trying to commit suicide and Oji forfeiting to save Tenma.

I really hoped there can be a Oji vs Harima showdown, but it seems at best we can only wish for an Akira vs. Harima showdown now.

Hmm, I've just downloaded and read Yanime's version of volume one. Much nicer translation but I still didn't quite understand Flat-1.

Did Yakumo gain her ability to read minds on the day she met the cat or did she have that power before that incident? I feel the implication is that she received that power on that day but I'm not quite sure about this since I thought she had the power all along.

I can't wait to read the other Flat chapters since the translating of the thoughts are so much more complete.

Hmm, I've just downloaded and read Yanime's version of volume one. Much nicer translation but I still didn't quite understand Flat-1.

Did Yakumo gain her ability to read minds on the day she met the cat or did she have that power before that incident? I feel the implication is that she received that power on that day but I'm not quite sure about this since I thought she had the power all along.

I can't wait to read the other Flat chapters since the translating of the thoughts are so much more complete.

Flat 1 seems to suggest that Yakumo's abilities came as the cat arrived.
(Hence some people suggest the cat's a god or something)

However:

Flat 4: The spirit of the little girl seems to suggest that Yakumo had this ability all along. (Thus her inability to like anyone?)

I also read somewhere saying that Yakumo's telepathic abilities vary depending on the phases of the moon.
(can't remember where I saw this though)

oh BTW, i suppose you already know that Yakumo can only read the minds of people that have affection towards her right ;)

Heh, I've figured that much. Well, at least it seems that way. However, it's possible that it just so happens she can't read Harima and can read her sister. But the Flat with Shuuji seems to imply she can read anyone who likes her.

I don't see where the idea of the phases of the moon came from. Her power seems to be always working.

I personally believe Yakumo lost to Tenma on purpose in rock-paper-scissors (I'll have to wait for yanime's improved translation to be more sure) since she saw Tenma wanted to do scissors and put out paper to lose to Tenma's scissors.

Oh well, perhaps it was meant to be mysterious whether she received her power, or always had it.

the problem about any guy with Yakumo is, if the guy really likes Yakumo, he'll scare the crap out of her, so she can only interact well with guys who don't like her :eyespin: The only reason that Yakumo can interact so well with Harima is because he has absolutely no romantic interests in her, so she can't read his mind. Can you imagine what will happen if Harima really begins to like Yakumo and Yakumo reads his mind about all those images he fantasizes as currently he fantasizes Tenma? :twitch:

Hanai should be together with Akira, they'll make an extra nice couple ;)

well, Yakumo is a very shy girl, she easily blushes in front of others. Both Harima and Tenma are not that shy (except facing their respective love interests), and they are VERY single-minded in their quests for love, that they basically ignores anyone else in terms of romantic emotions.

Yakumo read Harima's mind only for once, and it's "Tenma-chan you are so cute" (it's debatable whether Yakumo sees the "Tenma-chan" part... although it makes one wonder how you "block" part of other's mind reading with your body), not those disturbing images of his daydreamings. If Harima really changes to like Yakumo as he likes Tenma now, so Yakumo can consistently read his mind and see those... well, disturbing images and daydreams... :uhoh:

But not always disturbing. Very often Harima comes up with the same cute little ideas that Tenma does. In fact, most his ideas are rather innocent of Harima considering what you'd expect from the mind of a 16 year old guy.

As for Harima's love interest. I'd be quite pleased to see him get together with Eri or Yakumo (<3), but considering his character, it'd literally take an event of cataclysmic proportions (maybe more than one) to change his focus. I don't think it even crossed his mind to look elsewhere (he didn't even care until he met Tenma, so I'm not surprised by this).

Thanks for the description. Yakumo blushes so much, it's hard to tell what's going on. Yeah, I can't picture Hanai with Yakumo ever. She isn't going to like him unless he changes his approach, and he doesn't seem the type to change. I like MikotoxHanai because they get along well and Mikoto isn't embarrassed by his bluntness. Although to be fair, Hanai isn't hitting on her all the time.

Many people (including myself) are hoping for a Yakumo vs. Eri showdown, so hopefully it'll happen.

That would be interesting, but I don't think it will happen since I doubt Yakumo would battle over Harima, even over a misunderstanding. I prefer Eri x Harima, but I don't want it to happen yet. Eri's scary expressions are too funny to stop them now.

Hmm, I'm under the impression in chapter 29, that Harima was talking in future possible tense about what he had wanted. Especially since he called it a dream afterwards.

Flat 03. The comments after the part saying the napping Yakumo is a like a goddess don't make sense in the context. First they she's like a goddess, then it says she wouldn't look good in a portrait and isn't worth talking about. I think the context changed and they were referring to themselves by that point.

Apparently when Harima killed Mikoto, Hanai yelled out "Mikoto-chan", and probably loud enough so that everyone heard.

(the -chan portion suggests that they are on more intimate terms than it would seem, at least that's what the class would want to think.)
(Note Hanai usually refers Mikoto as "Syou"..)

Hello everybody.

I'm kinda new to anime and just got into SR cause of a friend. I've looked around and up until now I haven't had any trouble finding what I was looking for.

I was looking for the School Rumble manga and I found the latest (volume 2 I believe) from Yanime, but I just can't seem to find the first bunch, nor do I really know what to look for.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Just got done reading V2, great work on Roots. BTW I'm wondering something about Itoko
Is she a secret agent and possibly Akira's "handler"? I remember from the Manga-Inc thing when there's the summer break we see Akira on a covert mission. Then looking at the anime and then the manga and seeing for the 'second and third time' that Itoko had the high-tech microphone/receiver and then seeing her with a gun just made me wonder about her.

Title Conte D'Hiver. Starts off with Fuyuki helping Tsumugi set up the telescope so she watch the stars. He teases her a bit saying she likes the stars even though she is almost a 3rd year student. Sagano and Ichijou show up with food they eat and Sagano brings up love. She says that when 3 girls get together that's usually how it goes and Fuyuki says he's still here. She teases Ichijou a bit by bringing up how she's changed and her Imadori moments like singing in front of him and calling him over to her house.

Sagano then switches over to Tsumugi and she says nothing in particular happened to her. She says having her stars and watching a sparkling Ichijou is plenty enough for her. Fuyuki then says he'll go buy coffee since it's freezing and then Sagano and Ichijou volunteer to go so they can be alone. Fuyuki and Tsumugi continue talking about what Sagano mentioned. It switches to her having no confidence and what not. Fuyuki says that she is also cute. She says he says that to people like Sawachika as well. Then he says that women in love are beautiful to which she replies if she seems that way to him.

Fuyuki then goes on about taking pictures to capture that beauty and what not and compliments Tsumugi. She tells him to stop and then she has a flashback of Mikoto and Hanai out shopping while she was looking on. She tears up and then Fuyuki says he found a star and she says it's far.

are u sure that that's asou? why would Tsumugi be crying if that's asou? i think that it was Hanai without his glasses, coz as far as i know Tsumugi had a crush on Hanai since.......well one of the b chapters (i forgot)

I think he means with the recent hinting about asou and mikoto going on dates and hanging out. In the B chapter that certainly is Hanai wearing contacts with Mikoto. And yes poor Tsumugi maybe she just assumed things.

Also in other manga news Vol. 11 came out a while back and it featured Tougou on the cover. It has ch 130-140 with b chapters 30-32

There's a year end party going on and he goes to see the editor-in-chief who is meeting with Nijou sensei (Karasuma).

The guy rejects his manuscript saying it's not needed anymore then Tenma shows up and sees her broken plate and gets very sad. She hands a shattered piece to Karasuma and wishes him a merry christmas and leaves. Harima apologizes profusely about breaking the plate but Tenma isn't listening he hugs her and she screams and from the sound effect probably slapped or slammed him. Chapter ends with a Tsukamoto at another party with someone else saying they've been waiting, then followed by it was a place where the Eve ended dangerously. Then asks what's wrong and Tsukamoto says nothing and then 3 2 1 merry christmas.

This is a pretty interesting chapter. We see the first pro-active act of intimicy from Harima to Tenma when they are both aware.

I think Yakumo was about to tell Tenma that Harima probably likes her(Tenma), when the phone call interupted them. If that is indeed true, it's sad for Yakumo :(

I'm a big YakumoXHarima fan myself, but I don't see it happening unless Harima moves on from Tenma, and for that to happen, he'll have to confess and reveal his secrets, and get rejected. Same goes for HarimaXEri. He won't even look at another girl romantically unless he gives up Tenma.

Still, Tenma blushing when Harima hugged her from behind was cute. Who knows what could develop when Tenma sees his kind side :P

Yakumo seems more of the caring type, so i think she'll be a good girl for Harima.
tenma and Harima, is a basic setting for the story. but even so i wished for HarimaXYakumo setting later on :p

I would be one to think that Eri would get a shot at more spotlight in following chapters. The place in the bottom of the last page could be Eri's house, so she might be tied up in the meantime. It wouldn't be surprising if they jump to New Years' or something like that, but that's just my opinion.

The Lion King. Harima is having a dream with Tenma in it. He wakes up and says what kind of new year's dream is that. He thinks to himself that it is said new years dream tend to become true so he will go to the temple and pray that it does. He greets and wishes a happy new year to Itoko who says he's noisy. He goes to the temple for the new year temple visit but it's crowded. Switches to tenma who is happy she ran into karasuma and they walk together through the crowds. Karasuma tells Tenma to watch her step when Harima finds Tenma and he sees her with Karasuma. Harima starts grinding his teeth when suddenly Mikoto shows up. She says she has some urgent business and asks him to do her part in some family group performance thing.

She leaves before he can protest after she used the fact she helped him before as a reason to do it. Harima goes and runs into Sawachika who is waiting for Mikoto to show up. He says she isn't coming and they do their usual "why am I stuck with you" greeting. Sawachika after complaining about Mikoto doing this to her agrees to do the lion dance for some kids who show up and wanting to see it. Sawachika then tells Harima that until Mikoto comes back he better help. Reluctantly Harima works with Sawachika and starts thinking why him after he had such a good dream. Tenma and Karasuma end up behind them and Harima curses Karasuma. He gets the idea to bite him with the lion but Imadori gets in the way who is together with Ichijou:love:. Imadori sees Harima and before he says his name he gets hurt:heh:. The onlookers just marvel at how realistic this year's performance is:heh:.

Harima gets the idea to follow Tenma and Karasuma while indisguise so he tells Sawachika to follow his lead into the town so it'll be like a parade and people will be delighted. So he starts his Tenma stalking plan then tenma and co go inside a coffee shop. He follows as well and Sawachika starts asking if they are going the right way. Tenma and Karasuma then end up at a cliff and she starts saying what a beautiful sunset and how last year she saw fireworks with everyone there. Harima sees it's too good of a mood and before karasuma tries anything he will attack him. He lunges at Karasuma but his super strength:heh: stops harima in his tracks and he throws him down the cliff. Harima apologizes to Sawachika for getting her into that situation and she bitches a little but then says for this year as well best regards for the time being. He says "ou" and chapter ends.

1) If you can remember back to the story arc right after the beach when the girls are preparing to watch fireworks at the cliff behind Yagami shrine, Hanai and Harima fell down the cliff to a ledge just below. I haven't seen the chapter yet, but that could be where Harima and Eri went.
2) I'd like to carry her.

They were both wearing the lion costume, harima at the front and eri at the back.
When they got thrown over the cliff by Karasuma, she just grab him.
Think of it as a reflex, just like if you slipped and try to grab something.

SR happens to be published in Indonesia except it's in Shonen Magazine form. :( This means that we get them a lot slower than the standard tankoubon mangas which are published monthly. Right now it's up to chapter 53, more specifically, #53 since there are B flat sidestories. The last chapter is where Eri and Mikoto finally makes up after their quarrel in Summer holidays. Ok so I have some questions to those who follow the manga closely:

1. In what tankoubon volume I am right now?
2. Are there any further developments between ErixHarima? I couldn't care less about Tenma. xD I'm tired of the main girl getting the main guy, we need some variations!
3. Seems that there's YakumoxHarima developments from reading bits and pieces of this forum. O_o That's interesting I have to admit since I don't see that or any hints of that yet in the manga. So is that gonna be a Eri-Yakumo-Harima love triangle?
4. Seems that the latest chapter is 160. Sigh... it gonna take at least 1 year for Shonen Magz to catch up. K, does the story get repetitive like Midori no Hibi?

I don't really watch animes so I don't know really much about SR anime. Any answers will be appreciated. I kinda like SR manga, it's a bit unusual. Yakumo owns btw.

Title- "The Jerk". Starts off with Akira who is flying a kite by herself but wants Hanai's help. He says by herself she should be able to manage but then she uses Tougou's name to coerce him into helping her. Itoko asks Harima for help but he gets an attitude about it but then she brings up the fact he still hasn't paid the rent so he ends up helping Itoko. Mikoto talks about her samurai kite then they notice the Harima kite and Hanai kite:heh:. Tenma is excited and tells Harima to kite fight. Hanai says he's been meaning to settle things and this is a perfect place. Harima doesn't feel like it until Akira complicates things by instigating a fight between them by punching Harima. The side bar is kind of funny "Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's 2 idiots!":heh: :eyespin: Harima and Hanai fight it out while the girls look on. Hanai gets serious and tells Akira to use "that". So he flies 3 times as high and starts his "Sure-kill" move:heh: the string breaks and Hanai disappears.

Switch to Lala and co playing 100 poems by 100 poets card game. Ichijou:love: explains the rules to Lala. Sagano reads her when Imadori shows up to interfere. Lala takes him out by "TKO". Back to Tenma and Sawachika who are going to play Hanetsuki and the loser gets stuff written on their face. Tenma ends up with a pitch black face but then asks Yakumo to take revenge and switch with her. So Yakumo vs Sawachika, but Yakumo gets serious and easily beats her. As Sawachika is about to get written on she sees Harima ogling Tenma saying she is cute. She tells him to switch with her when he says no then she demands retribution for the cliff incident of last chapter. Harima then accepts his fate, a worried Yakumo then draws back his moustache and goatee.

3rd school term begins and the class is talking about a trip to England. Mai the other class representative wants to make plans for the trip. They all talk about the stuff they would like to do there without Hanai who is still missing. Some people mention they want to see Stone Henge. Mikoto says she wants to see stuff like castles. Tenma nominates Sawachika to handle the planning of the trip and they ask for a guy to be the other representative and work with her. The other guy would have been Hanai but since he isn't there. All the other guys keep thinking of working alone together with Sawachika they start arguing among themselves for the honor. Yoshidayama and a few others throw their name into the fray until Suga intervenes saying to select someone who loves England. Asou tells Suga don't show up for their club activities. The teacher, Tani then comes up with a simple solution of nominating someone based on their english grades since England is an english speaking country. Mai suggest using the final scores in English from the previous term Hanai is no. 1 but since he is missing Harima no. 2 ends up being picked. Chapter ends with him telling Sawachika nice to meet you in english and her saying don't chicken out.

They explain why Harima's 2nd. I completely forgot about it myself but it's thanks to chapter 139 on vol. 11 where that teacher was haunting Harima:heh:.

As much as I like the ErixHarima and YakumoxHarima pairings things never really go anywhere. Five chapters later Tenma tunnel visions starts again and the pairings go back to square one. It's getting to predictable.

Hopefully.... I'm a great supporter of a Harima-Eri pairing, especially after the sports carnival incident.... He should just forget about Tenma (just like tenma should forget about karasuma lol!).

In any case, I'm still at volume 10 of the manga... eagerly awaiting volume 11.. and season 2!

I don't get the "going back to tunnel vision" people. Look at it from this perspective: Harima's infatuation with Tenma has grown over the course of the story. Harima's relationship with Eri has grown in the course of the story. Harima's relationship with Yakumo has grown in the course of the story. He's opened up to two other girls whereas his obsession is still just an obsession.
Tenma is just my least favorite character. My motto is anyone but Tenma.

Yeah the latest chapter had a lot of things going for it. We get to see a little of both Eri and Yakumo.

Incidently, though, I thought that Eri handled that event rather amusingly. She sets new records of cuteness this chapter. Just when I thought it wasn't possible, too. :D

The manga that the anime covers isn't worth reading, because the anime is almost the same as the manga, but better with the added benefits of voices and music, and color, and..moving characters.

This chapter had a lot of Eri + Harima interaction, so it's all cute, and Eri continued on looking more and more cute. Looks like things between Tenma and Harima are still the same, since she seems to treat him like she'd normally would?

What do you mean, I just read some Chinese scan of 162:

- Harima tells Eri that he doesn't really want to do this trip planning thing. After overhearing Tenma and Mikoto, he figured that he can show Tenma around during the trip if he knows some English.
- So he told Eri that he changed his mind and wanted to help her out after all. Of course, Eri thought that Harima was worried about her:heh:. Then she started teaching him simple English conversation.
- For every word the Eri taught him, he kept on substituting it with old Japanese samurais names, driving Eri nuts. Eri finally told him an old joke about Westerners coming to Japan that made him realize the error of his ways. Just then he had a flash of insight that Tenma will make the same mistake as he just did.
- So he pull an all-nighter to learn all the English words that Tenma may mistake, and then started talking to Tenma in English the next morning.
- Lo and behold, Tenma thought that he's an idiot, and he went to the bathroom and punch out a wall.

She then asks him if he has fallen in love and then suggests he should fall in love since there's a lot of girls in Tokyo but he answers something like they look more like daughters to him:heh:. She goes on about falling in love and growing up. Anyway he wakes up and sees Tae blushing and freaks because she overheard most of what he was talking about in his dream. She promises to keep a secret from the students. Tani then starts thinking that Yurippe and Tae resemble each other and he ponders that there's alot of resemblance but she isn't yurippe sort of thing.

Tae asks who is Yurippe and if she was his first love he starts talking about how she was a childhood friend and then asks Tae to go out with him. She throws herself to harima who is also sick with a fever. She tells him to save her she can't take it anymore. Tani is heart broken and leaves, the panel itself is priceless:heh:. Then Harima asks for an explanation she then says that she didn't want to get near Tani's sweaty face and take his temperature because it might be contagious:heh:

She throws herself to harima who is also sick with a fever. She tells him to save her she can't take it anymore. Tani is heart broken and leaves the panel itself is priceless:heh:. Then Harima asks for an explanation she then says that she didn't want to get near Tani's sweaty face and take his temperature because it might be contagious:heh:

"Cocktail". Chief director Jr returns from England. He starts hitting on Tae and Tani happens to see this along with another teacher Kanezaki. Jr abruptly decides to throw a new year party. Kato, Tani, Tae, and Kooriyama attend the new year party thing with Kanzaki not showing up for it. Jr starts being obnoxious at the party after drinking especially to Tani. Tani goes to the bar where he orders something strong to drink from bartender Harima:heh:. Before he opens his mouth Harima takes him to the bathroom and tells him to keep his part time job a secret. Tani is told some women gossip about Jr from Harima so he keeps quiet about the part time job. In the end Tae leans on Hario and Tani runs away crying like last week:heh:. Then harima asks Tae if she did it on purpose and she asks what is he talking about:heh:
