I personally enjoy long-winded animes.. At least 90+ eps. Now.. 240 .. 250 or whatever dbz had.. + DB and DB-GT. . . . well that might be a bit long..

but if the story is good, I don't mind the length.

To tell you the truth two of my fav. animes are short and I hated it :frustrated: - Trigun and Cowboy Bebop. Bah.

Not to say its not a good anime, but dang its long. Its becoming like DBZ. I loved DBZ when it came out, but than people started killing it. Naruto is going through the same thing for me. I still like Naruto but people need to stop talking about it likes its the best anime in the world.

You know what? I'm glad that I discovered an anime series that is worth discussing.

You know why we have this many topics on Naruto? It's because Naruto is an anime with alot of debth. There is alot to discuss, alot to discover, alot to make theories around. It's not as straightforward as alot of other animes.

Behind every person, there is a history.
Behind every jutsu, there is a history.

There is alot that we don't get to know at first, so we like to share opinions and theories.

So get over yourself, and stop telling people what to do. If we think it's the best anime in the world, who are you to judge? If we don't, it sure is NOT something for you to bother your narrow little mind in.

Go get a hobby or something, so we don't have to put up with your pathetic assumptions.

Anyway back on topic... It only anoys me that the fanboys can never keep their fanboyism (yeah I just created a new word... I think. ) where it belongs... Every good, and in most cases better imo, anime will at some point have a naruto fanboy come in and say IT'S NOT AS GOOD AS NARUTO!!!

Now I am friends with someone who will also argue that Naruto is the best anime ever but this is a quote from said person.

This game would be awesome if it wasn't for the boring story parts.

Naruto follows a standard recipe for succes. It offers nothing new has a shallow storyline and character development. Joke like a 1000 years of pain and draws out as much as it can.
Is it fun to watch? Yeah it's enjoyable to a point.
Is it the best anime? Not even close.
Will it be called the best anime by various people for various reasons? Oh god... yes.
Is it at all possible that people keep that contained to just these forums? No... not to be insulting but it's because of a certain audience it atracts that this is a hopeless dream.

Just do what I did, stop watching the anime till someone mentions the filler eps being over (since that is the big annoyance to me) and read the manga instead. (c234 made up for many weeks of dragged out naruto vs sasuke)

Well, when someone says "Naruto is the best anime ever!" I treat him like someone who said "DBZ is the best anime ever!" or "Harry Potter is the best book ever!" and so on. I smile and go away. There is just no reason to argue. Just like there is no reason to argue with a Pokemon Fanatic.

By the way, to all those who said it is the best anime there is, how old are you and how many anime did you watch? I'm just curious.

I like how there is some long running series. It's good counterbalace for all short series comics and Naruto isn't yet even that long. Like Jojo's Bizzare Adventure ended around 80 volumes or like One Piece is in it's 35 volume and it still gets better all the time plus Oda could go easily another 35 volumes. I think Naruto isn't going to end soon. Probably atleast 15 volumes to go. It's good to remember the series is Kishimoto's first and he probably will do few other (better) titles in his career. Supposing he isn't just a shooting star.

Edit: Yes, I think Naruto is overrated but it's not that bad either. It's a mainstream comic done fine and it have some good features. Likeable if you are able to ignore all clichés in it but it's nothing special, just over hyped. I don't hate it at all, I follow the series but it doesn't raise any feelings in me. A habit I would say.

I do agree the constant Overratedness of the anime can be annoying, I can't name an anime more overrated. As the majority of Naruot fans... well maybe just a lot of it have never actually gave another fansubbed or good dubbed anime a try.

I think people get to emotional over this. Naruto is great but its just a show. Whats the greastest show ever? Is there one or is that an opinion? Why would there have to be a greatest anime? If someone likes a show and declares it the greastest ever fine let them keep that opinion they deserve to like their favorite show that much. Its nothing to complain about every time a decent show comes out that people worship. It happenes every time. Samething happened with Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop etc. etc. Something new will come out and everybody will worship that to, I for one won't lose sleep over it.

Tbh, I think Naruto is quite good, but certainly not the best anime out there. FMA is like hundred times better in story, character dev etc etc. People just love shinobi who doe cool stuff...:p That's why they watch it. But that's just my opinion :P
