Haha, I guess that rules out Ayumi Hamasaki :)

Check out Nami Tamaki's stuff like "Complete", "Naked", "High School Queen", "Prayer", "Shining Star", and all the stuff from Gundum Seed

Mai Kuraki is pretty good. Check out "Key to my heart", "Reach for the Sky", "Simply Wonderful", and "Kiss"

Nana Kitade's "Kesenai Tsumi" is excellent!

Also "Get Along" by Megumi Hayashibara and Masami Okui. That's one of my old favs :) Actually, anything from Slayers is fast beat and excellent!

Um.. I like anything by morning musume, but some people find them annoying.
You might want to check out Aya Matsuura's "Goodbye Natsuo". It's fun.
Or Pucchmoni's Chokkoto Love, or Baby! Koi ni KNOCKOUT! are both good!

I listen to SPEED or their solo work... even though their popularity really sank big time, but their singing is definately better as the years goes by.

Try Eriko Imai's identity or Our Relation, or for a cuter style, Luv is Magic.
Takako Uehara's Galaxy Legend, Kiss You Jounetsu

These songs are kinda old though,

Basically most stuff produced by I've Sound/Key Sounds Label.

KOTOKO is a good start. UNDER17 did some of that style too, but you may find them to be... too hyper.
