It's pretty amusing. Maybe somone can translate the text by the image. I neither speak nor read Japanese and Babelfish didn't make much sense out of it.

Heh, deformed tomatoes are fun. Unless of course someone has poisoned it. We used to make deformed ones all the time when I was young. First trick to learn is the square tomatoe, and after that you move on to harder objects.

It's not just with tomatoes, you can do it with lots of other stuff too. I grew up on a farm, so I've seen a good number of deformations. Anyway... :topicoff:
:heh: Nice picture, that's a great Al.

haha, nice, i wouldnt mind knowing how 2 do it as well, though i wont be growing them
Well, there are square watermelons, so the growing of square tomatoes shouldn't be much more difficult. You'd have to put the baby tomatoes in square jars very early, no?
They'd be easy to store certainly...

Yes, there is an art (or a trick really) to making tomatoes grow into different shapes. You can't do anything with sharp edges though. You make a clear container in the shape that you want it to be, however it needs to be light enough to not break the stem. You then put said container around the tomatoe as it is growing. It will conform to the shape of the container. However, if there is a sharp edge on the inside it will break the tomatoe. I have seen a star one, but I was never able to make one of those properly. non-round tomatoes definately draw attention, and some people really don't like to see them.
Square watermelons are easy, you grow them in a clear box.

Yup, works with any fruit (and most veggitables). They grow to the shape of their containers. Not exactly sure what genius decided to start growing things in containers to make them different shapes, but it does work.
I wonder if it was the same bright person who decided to strap exposives to the outside of tanks to deflect shells (reactive armor).
