It would be rather silly to destroy a ship like the Archangel considering it's both fast, well-armed and can carry 6 mobile suits.

Eternal on the other hand had just one purpose: ferry around Freedom and Justice. Could possibly be refitted to a standard MS carrier but come on, it's pink. I'm certain that Andy became colour-blind after his "accident".

I'd wager that both are under ORB's care. Most likely ArchAngel will be housing Freedom, I have a lurking feeling that there will be more characters introduced around the time Kira and Lacus surface, possibly some new pilots.
