The First Season (http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/252.html) is available on Fansub and even listed on AnimeSuki. Follow the link.
The Second Season is licensed and so you won't find it here -- ever -- you that you are not allowed to ask for licensed anime (in case you don't know). I think the same goes for the movies.
As for the third series... it isn't available on fansub yet so I don't think you will find it anywhere.
All this information is available on the site and forum already... If we don't list a show; chances are you are wasting your time and ours asking for it. So, before you think about posting similar questions, can I ask that you read the torrent listings we provide ~ You would have saved all the time it took to make those two threads.
I used to be in Anime Club at my high school. I got to know everyone, and we'd do various things that had to do with anime(watch it, draw it, etc). I also got to know the girls as well. I told them about a lot of anime I watch and whenever I mentioned Lupin The 3rd the girls always said they hated that show. Then the samething happens when I talk to girls online(with AIM) they also hate Lupin. What's wrong with Lupin? It's one of my favorite anime's. I've seen most of the specials/movies and I've seen all of 2 of the series(green shirt and red shirt Lupin). There's a lot of action and comedy.I'm just curious about all the ladies here at AnimeSuki. What do you think????

I'm a girl and think its funny. Maybe I'm just strange tho. :hmm:
maybe you are strange. I donno, i'll wait for more girls to respond.
Maybe girls hate sideburns?
I'm a girl and I hate Lupin. I don't like the humor, pointless nudity, and art style in general. There are probably five girls at my local anime club (compared to 20ish guys) and only one likes it.
It's the sort of show that doesn't bother disguising the fact that it's targetting males and males alone. Some females may end up liking it because there are exceptions to every rule.
The logical solution, I think, is not putting that on your list of anime to mention to girls when you first meet them. You can try converting them later... or not *shrug* ^_^

Ouch, i've heard that a lot. Anymore girl opinions on it?
I'm a girl and I love Lupin. I also describe myself as being a feminist, liberal, and pretty PC, but Lupin just doesn't bother me. A lot has to do with the fact that no matter how Lupin acts Fujiko still comes off as a very strong character who can hold her own. I find most of the situation and comedy amusing and I like the character style. I actually don't see it as being super guy oriented either. A lot of the jokes actually seem pretty neutral. Especially considering the sarcastic humor that is often used. I mean is GTO something most girls don't like? Onizuka is just as, if not more perveted then Lupin, but I always figured it was a pretty neutral anime.
To each their own.

I am a girl and like Lupin quite. The stories are well done and the characters great! I really love Goemon & Jigen who are so particular!
The musics and songs are nice and fit the story, maybe the only bad thing I can say is there are too many eps/specials/movies and after a bit it may bore you.

I don't really call it dislike but I can't seem to put myself into shows that's made for guys. But of course there are exceptions...
i'm a GUY and i don't like it -_-
It's good to see that there are some fans of Lupin. The girls that don't like it just think Lupin is a pervert, which is mostly wrong. He'll only act perverted toward girls if they make the first move(it being real or just using Lupin for something). You can understand Lupin wanting to get Fujiko, because on the show she is supposed to be like the most beautiful girl there is and she uses that to manipulate men(which sometimes backfires then Lupin has to save her). If you notice, most girls that Lupin rescues/meets he just tries to act like he's really cool and romantic(without trying to get some). Some examples of this are in "Castle of Cagliostro" and "Legend of the Twilight Gemini"
As for Kyuven....No offense, but Your a freak of nature. I've never known a guy that has watched Lupin the 3rd and hated it.
Haha, common, aren't you being a little too harsh? there are people who just can't get into lupin simply because it's old, or they don't like Lupin's projective personality, guys included. as for lupin being for guys, while I don't think that the humor of the anime is entirely directed toward guys, the theme is very masculine. As for the manga, that is definitely a guy's manga.
tch, maybe I am being a little harsh. it isn't like I hurt his feelings or somethin.
Well, yeah. everyone is different and we all got an opinion.
I like the humour and the adventure of LupinIII... well the movie that is... Still need to watch the series.

is it just me or did thay already licens that show already????
and if so why are thay still subing it
I might be wrong, as I haven't checked to see what it is that's actually been subbed, but I was under the impression it's from the first Lupin series, which has not been licensed.

Hey i am female and i Love Lupin the 3rd he is soo funny and very cool. So I don't care about what other girls say about him if they have a problem with that i tell them how gay their favorate anime is and rub it in their faces. Lupin is God
i watched the first season of lupin the third and really enjoyed it, though my only issue was the lack of a story arc. seeing as season two is quite a bit more lengthy, i was wondering if like it's predecessor it's stand alone episodes only or are there any story arcs?

I've also seen the 1st season of Lupin III: it's fantastic; sometimes one forgets it's a 1971 series! :D
The 155 (or so) eps 2nd season also goes the same way. It doesn't have any particular story arcs. But its "stand alone eps" are also very good and well written. :) I advise you to go and watch it. ;)

I've been watching Lupin III recently and I'm really shocked that some of these episodes ever aired. I'm watching HK bootlegs so I don't know if the episodes I'm seeing are the same as what was released in the US. (Yeah you don't need to say a thing about HK bootlegs, but there are an awful lot of episodes and they're cheap.) There's some really surprising material. For example in series 2, episode 34, "Lupin Becomes a Vampire" we meet Jesus' vampiric sister. Then there is episode 65, "Lupin's Enemy is Lupin" where we see a girl stripped naked and fondled by a tentacle! On TV?!
You can see why I'm a bit surprised that episodes like these actually aired. As far as I have learned, only a single episode wasn't aired on TV: episode 3, "Hitler's Legacy" which was banned because of Nazi imagery.
This leads me to ask a question that I hope someone else can answer for me. Does anyone know how many episodes weren't aired in the US? Of the rest, were any edited? Did they really show that Jesus had a twin sister who was born a vampire?

Lupin the 3rd is awesome...but then I like history so it's always fun to see them poke fun at certain historical figures or their descendants...
I'm guessing the ladies don't like it because it's an old anime and the art style reflects that (but then the art style is what makes it so awesome to me) and there's not much romance in it...but whatever, let them watch Wedding Peach or something...;)
No offense to the ladies here, I'm just joking around...

I've just finished watching Lupin III second series and started the third series. At this time I am filled with a sense of retrospective for the show. I find it interesting that each series has its own distinct character.
The first series was largely marked by bizarre technological advances or other outrageous supervillanous plotlines. I hardly liked the series much, but at least it got better towards the end. After watching the first series I only barely had the interested to start watching the second, but I am glad that I did.
The second series moved from strange incidents in Japan to a series of thefts around the world. The Lupin gang have become globetrotters trying to steal treasures all around the world. Curiously the second series began with a reunion of the cast who claim to have broken up after the first series and took a 7 year vacation. This is curious because after the first episode all the writers seem to have forgotten about that 7 year vacation. Later episodes refer to events supposedly taking place 5 or 7 years before the current episode and they blatantly ignore that continuity.
This second series presents a much more bumbling Lupin who often relies on good luck to survive and frequenly loses his loot through bad luck. He also spends most of the series chasing after Fujiko and getting taken advantage of her again, and again, and again. You'd think he'd eventually learn better, but he never does.
Of particular note in the second series there were two episodes directed by Hayao Miyazaki. He makes it clear exactly why he is the master. When I got to these episodes I never had any trouble recognizing them. The character designs were more in line with his personal work and the animation quality is better than most of what is on TV today. Just brilliant stuff, but even more amazing is the way that he writes the character's personalities. As written by Miyazaki I finally understood the Lupin and Fujiko relationship for the first time. He conveyed the sense of a man actually in love with a woman, not just because of her body, but because he loved the way she kept him on his toes. As written by Miyazaki, Lupin was in love with Fujiko for her mind and truly enjoyed playing an unending game of wits with her. Just brilliant. If you never see any other episodes of Lupin III, you need to see episodes 145 and 155.
Now I'm watching the third series and I'm noticing a certain trend... there's no other way to put it, so I'll just say it outright, "Holy crap, nipples!" I'm just amazed that this actually aired on TV. I've only seen 4 episodes so far and in each episode I've seen a girl forcibly stripped completely naked from head to toe. Usually it has been Fujiko, but not always. In episode 3 it was a pubescent loli old enough to have small breasts. In episode 4 (while Fujiko was manacled naked to a slab) we had a close up of her naked breast just to show off a very clearly drawn and colored nipple. I'm no stranger to fanservice, but I'm amazed this got on the airwaves.
Other than that, the third series had been pretty good so far. We seem to have a return to the cooler Lupin of the first series. Strangely all the characters are drawn much prettier. Lupin no longer looks quite like a monkey and Goemon almost looks like a girl.
I know this is bumping up a fairly old thread, but I just wanted to mention one thing here quickly.
In the context of the new Lupin: Green Vs. Red OVA released this week, it might be appropriate to think of the Lupin III in each of those separate TV series as separate individual characters.
Heck, the OVA pretty blatantly implies the death of the Lupin III we've become acquainted in from the most recent Lupin movies (same voice and jacket colour), with a new green jacket copycat taking up the mantle

The OVA is very confusing because the guy on green is the copy cat, but he was the one that lost on the stand up. The one with the red jacket is the real lupin. notice that the ring that the green lupin gave to his girlfriend has a RED stone, but the ring that the REAL lupin has hanging from the read view mirror has a Green stone.
This OVA is very crazy and sometime make you doubt which lupin is which.
the stone is green because it is HIS stone, the same ring he has at the begin. Basically, ti could have gone either way:
Yasuo becoming the new Lupin
or
Lupin staying Lupin and having the ring as a memento of Yasuo
It's wanted, I think.

I enjoyed that Green vs Red OVA, it was a cool change of pace. I did miss having Fujiko in a larger role though, she's the best.
Here's one question I have, anyone have any thoughts on this?
Why does Yasuo (the fake Lupin) have psychedelic trips where he sees Fujiko?
I enjoyed that aspect, but it is pretty unexplained.
