Aside from OP 1-4, my guess is that SEED OST IV contains all of the BGM that got left out of the first 3. I noticed that there were some BGM's missing from the first three including the suit CD's, that I really liked. Hopefully they're in this one, as well as the BGM for the Astray promo's.
As for the Destiny OST, can't wait till it comes out. So far the BGM for Destiny has been great.
Whee, I'm listening to the soundtrack now. Maybe I'll give individual comments on each track... I don't think I'll particularly like it but who cares :D
I'll type down which ones I really like after I'm done with it.

The only vocal song on it is Fields Of Hope? I'm suprised that Invoke or Reason isn't on it, but I guess they're making money selling them as singles.
I preordered Destiny's OST (I wondered why though, then I found out that one of my favorite anime music composers did SEED's music and is doing Destiny's).
I won't get it until Christmas, but uh...I can write a review for it if anyone would read it. I KNOW I said that for the Fullmetal Alchemist OST and I never did write it, but if enough people are interested I'll try to write a review for this one . :)
Okay, I listened to it... It isn't a particularly amazing soundtrack, though I guess I liked Minerva Take Off, Gaia x Chaos x Abyss (because it's so funny), Mission Kaishi, Youki to Bishoumi, Nouryoku to Shi to, and the piano version of ignited.
It turns out I don't like Fields of Hope as much as I thoguht. :(

I actually like Fields of Hope more now that I've heard the full version several times...

I haven't done with destiny's one yet
but i am listening to OST4 of seed now
personally......................I think it isn't as great as the previous 3?
there are only a few that i like @_@
but maybe it's just me
Just wanted to help pimp this soundtrack. It's incredible. The order of songs is great. And yeah... Fields of Hope full version is too good. I LOVE YOU LACUS-SAMA!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah, I'd be impressed if someone could find the piano sheet music to ignited.... not to mention totally greatful.

The thing is I didn't think that highly of Fields of Hope at all when Lacus sang it while they were in the shelter/bunker, yet for some magical reason I liked it immediately after listening to its full version. :o
Tracks I liked (in no particular order):
ignited ~piano version~ - This is just a lovely change of pace from the hyper hot-blooded version used for the OP.
MINERVA NAVIGATION - A nice soothing piece unfit for a warship like Minerva.
Kotoba Nakushite - That sad string-piece during the episodes.
Asu he no Hashi - The music used in the next episode preview; it gets my blood flowing!
Youki to Bishoumi - A nice piece overall, and the middle portion reminds me of RPG battle music. :D
Yumemiru Shoujo Ni... - The full version of the piece used for the eyecatch; serene RPG town music. :o
Honorable mentions:
Mission Kaishi - I just like it.
Nikurashimi Arebasoko - What can I say? I'm a sucker for violin.
CORE SPRENER LIFT OFF - Yes, I hate the stupid combining process, but the music shouldn't be blamed for it. ^_^;;
Shizukesa no Toki - Similar to all the other suspenseful pieces, but it gets good around 1/3 of the way.
Naze no Kiri - One of those ominous pieces...I just happen to like it more than the other ones.
where do you get the full version of Fields of Hope. The person who does Lacus's voice is amazing. I already pre-orded the destiny ost and can not wait.
Oh, I've got to get a hold of this one. Ignited piano version? :D
And while I'm here and you lot seems to know about the OST's... which I don't... Does any of you happen to know what the title of the song that plays in Ep 50 when Yzak protects Dearka and shoots Raider is named?
Aw come on, the ignited piano version played at the later half of ep 8, IIRC. On A-One/A-Kingdom's sub it's from 18:55 to 20:34 (until just before Lacus butts in on Shinn and Kira's conversation. I must be having some burst of dyslexia, just typed "Kinn and Shira..." ...).
One thing about the ost (it's the first of the seed OSTs I've ever listened to) is that it does fit the show's theme and all, but individually I'm not particularly interested in the songs. The thing is unlike other seemingly boring songs which I love because of memories associated with the show (like most of the RK OST, which wasn't all that amazing but they're classic tunes to me since I remember them so well), I don't find most of the music in SEED/SEED-D memorable really (except maybe 1 or 2, very few really...).
I guess in that sense to me it is average, it's a functionable OST but isn't anything special.

My favorite of the five so far is Seed OST3. But generally speaking, I don't recognize most of the tracks from anime OSTs because I don't really pay that much attention to the BGMs unless they really stood out (either negatively or positively) or are repeated frequently...so when listening to most of the tracks on the OSTs, it's almost as if I'm listening to them for the first time. :o

I'd have to agree. :(
