So, what are some of the funniest moments in the FMP: Fumoffu series? I thought Sagara making weapons out of the Bonta-kun costumes was one of the most hilarious moments in the series. The fact that he didn't understand why it didn't sell that well made it even funnier. Also, Weber's attempts at peeking at the ladies in the hot springs trip. That was hilarious.

Yeah the underwear SEED mode was awesome and another favorite scene was really early when they were playing the pumpkin and Sagara uses the gun, classic.

The beginning of the hot springs episode where Sagara has a "nightmare" about Tessa and wakes up with an erection was hilarious. The part in the "pony" episode where Sagara fights the crazy policewoman is great too.

man, I have so many favourite moments and there just isnt a "best" one, it's like comparing apples and oranges.

The most memorable though is his repeated "I won" scenes, those always had me laughing so hard. The fact that he is completely ignorant to his tactics being dirty and dishonorable, and taking it dead-serious is just too much for me to handle, and had me in stitches.

Also when Sagara falls ill when guarding Tessa and they (Tessa and Chidori) have a fight over who gets to take care of him, and drops the rice on his face. Very small moment but it just struck me as incredibly funny.


I could go on and on, I have so many moments I want to mention, but I think it would come out as a rant.

I like the 'fighting for an activity room' ep most. Esp towards to end Chidori dressed in kimono. That was one of the few times Chidori resolved problem without vioilence...

That was probably the funniest part of the series that didn't involve Sousuke in my opinion...and my other favorite was when Sousuke and Tsubaki were "fixing" the bench...

There are countless other parts in the series i found hilarious but those two are teh ones that made me laugh for the longest time

My favorite line was the one with the "haunted" hospital...when i heard this line i was laughing for a while...

"I would understand if she got scared if the old lady was armed with a gun or a rocket launcher

Some others... The scene where they want Souske to be a model for the art class in the park, and he sets up all the traps. It was so funny seeing that girl pulled up into the trees, and those guys getting hit with a log... was just great how they were dropping like flies.

Also, when Tessa is sleeping over at Souske's, and she "sleepwalks" to Souske's room, but Mao handcuffs her.

During the rugby training, when Kaname asks where Souske learned all those words, and he pulls out "Mao's Book on How to Abuse a Trainee" was hilarious.

Kazama, In general. It's so funny how everyone ignores him, like when he finds the toxic stuff in the last episode.

If I had to pick 3 funniest moments, they'd be:

#1: Rugby training incident... (All the *beep*ing, the FMJ parody, and the punt that Sousuke does... ROFLMAO)

#2: Bonta-kun's first appearance.... "aiya... why you ...".... ROFL

#3: Kazami Pansu SeeD... and ending up in Sousuke's.... LOL

* The cop who goes after Sagura and Chidori on their (stolen) bicycle, terrifies her partner and trashes the car. And the way she pitches up in subsequent episodes.
* Chidori: "Just die! If you feel any pity for me, please just die!"
* The haunted hospital episode: "Besides, the old lady was just standing there."

I loved the whole of the Hot Springs episode. One favourite moment of mine was when the glasses guy (forgot name) could 'see', which was a direct spoof off Gundam Seed, with panties! I couldn't stop laughing on that one.

Oh yeah, I also liked the haunted hospital episode, the part with the floating head. The fact that Sagara was so ignorant to something so obviously weird is too much. The next part where Chidori scolded the 'ghost' was the icing on the cake :D

What's funny is that I read in an interview with Gatoh-san that the Sagara character is loosely based on a real ex-military person that he knew in college. Apparently he had trouble adjusting to civilian life as well.

The part in the last episode when Sagara was making an emotional speech and suddenly the audio is turned off and the entire class is makinga rush at Sagara with evil eyes and faces armed with teeth, Kaname was in the middleand the first to make contact. OMG! I can't believe I never made the connection! I caught the Holy Hand Grenade line in Cinderella at Boku-tachi, and the obvious (or at least I thought so until the friend who actually owned the DVDs was like "but what's with that name?") LOTR reference in the name 'Mithril'...

Are there any other Python references? I haven't been able to see all of Fumoffu (and actually I haven't seen all of the Flying Circus, just a best of and I own the first half of the scripts).

The Fumoffu series is just funny all the way. A little fav of mines is the letter Sousuke writes in the Pony ep

All the episodes in fumoffu was pretty funny.

I'd say the beginning part of when Sousuke is the model for an art project was pretty funny. "Sousuke, where are you? We need you to stand under the tree for us." "I can't. I'm melding with the environment. *mumbles about weapons and war*"

Then there was the part where he "rescues" Kaname after the beach scene. "You launched a grenade knowing this would happen? Calculating precisely where the debris would fall..." "No. I accidentally shot a live round instead of a practice round."

And of course, the ending of Fumoffu cracks me up all the time. Just the sheer mayhem he causes is just non-stop. I loved it. Especially how the ending credits was rolling, and everyone was screaming how Sousuke's got to pay.

In first season, I'd say the whole thing where Sousuke agrees to pretend date that one girl was pretty funny too. "So, what movie are we watching?" He answers correctly at the beginning, then he starts deviating to war talk.

-The scene where Kaname decides to use her 'proactive' method of stopping that taxi.
-Sagara punting the rugby fella... I almost fell out of my chair laughing at that scene. (and falling out of my chair is no mean feat...)
-Then there is the scene when the rich mentally disturbed kid gets sent flying after copping a feel of Ms. Kaname...:heh:
To name just a few (in my opinion) truly hilarious moments within that brief lull in action we lovingly refer to as Fumoffu.

I agree that everything in Fumoffu was practically hilarious, but to me, the funniest moment has actually not been mentioned yet (I think). It's in the episode of The Goddess Visits Japan (The Hot Springs Chapter), before the allusion to Gundam SEED via the panties being broken.

I wish I could just put up a screen caption, since the image was by far the funniest part of the whole thing.

I guess I'll settle for quoting the conversation:

1) Gouda-kun, previous rugby captain, after Sousuke's "punt" :

-YEESSSSSS !!! *berserking insane rugby crew rushing with blazing eyes*

2) Commander Mardukas and Sousuke, after the little explanation about Tessa's presence (after the memorable Monty Ponty/Psychose easter egg) :
-If you do something perverted to the Captain, I will pack you into a torpedo bay and launch you with 300 kg of explosives! I swear to God and Her Majesty that i will tear you limb from limb! UNDERSTOOD?
-I will never do such a... *pure gold panicked and horrified face*
-DO YOU COPY?! OR DO YOU NOT?!
-UNDERSTOOD ! SIIIIIR !!!

3) Washio and Sousuke, after their insane matrix battle :
-What an incredible guy...you fired your grenade launcher at this? and you even calculated the falling point of this pillar?
-No i fired a real one instead of a dummy one by mistake.
-Damn you, pervert !
-hang in there, Chidori !

4) Sousuke draws the winner ticket for the vaccine. Classmates aren't really happy about that... sousuke's answer :
-I understand your feelings. But i promise. I will not forget about this tragedy. I will send the data to the weapon developers and notify them strictly to prevent this kind of accident from happening again.

-So...what?
-Accept your fate and rest in...

5) Kaname, when explaining to sousuke what "flirt" means... :

i think 1 of the funniest moments and a good battle scenes in the show was when issei and sousuke were trying to help that teacher that they injured dooring 1 of their fights and then they really piesed him off when they killed his fish and had him eat it.

Why did MaoXKurz come to my mind well Mao and Kurz are not conventional chracters . To begin with Mao doesnt like being steretyped into a woman's role she wants more that would explain why she fled from wedding alter and joined forces . Its highly unlikely Mao is going to end up in a submissive conventional relationship with anyone . Kurz on the other hand is not a one woman man he hits on anything that moves :D Aside from that who knows Kurz best after Sagara its Mao . I love the scene where Sousuke has to participate in the art class with Kaname aand the gang in FUMOFFU and the crazy art professor says this, and I quote:

Hehe, I don't really know why, but I simply love one of the scenes in the fumoffu-episode where Sousuke forgets Kaname's notebook. After Kaname performs the "Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex Hold" on Sousuke he comes up with the idea to go to the faculty lounge to talk to Fujisaki-sensei. Like I said, don't really know why, but I simply love that little 5-second-scene that follows Kaname's line "Go! Right now!". Fast forward to about 14:30 in that specific episode to find the segment.

Well, there are a bunch of funny moments in the three anime-series that have been released so far. Hard to pick one to be honest. That's one of the things that I love about FMP though. Many animes that I've watched feature boring-ish "funny-scenes" but the ones in FMP actually make me laugh. :p

There are too many memorable parts of Fumoffu, but after reading all the post I'm kinda of schocked that no one put down the part where Kaname gets kidnapped by the gang and Sousuke comes in the warehouse and the Leader of the gang told him to drop all his weapons. He unloaded so many weapons that the faces of the gangmembers were priceless then the Leader shouts out "Where the hell did you put all that!" (I guess the only reason why I love that part is because the next day I had to watch Bowling for Columbine. In one scene a kid pulls out a lot of guns from his pants and I whispered to my friend "Hey, it's Sousuke Sagara!")
The rugby episode was really funny and anytime Tessa and Kaname have an episode together you know that's always going to be a laugh:D

I found that scene really funny too. The games like 'RELOAD! RELOAD!' and then Sousuke panics and pulls out his gun ^^ I think of that everytime I'm at the arcade.

Love the first (?) eppie where Sousuke gets a love letter (detonates it ^^), and then he explains that there are professional's that can forge letters, and in the background is some macho guy writing in cute girly writing and draws the love heart.

i did not stop lolling the entire episode, and by showing this episode to my friends i have managed to turn 4 of them into otakus (they previously didnt think they liked it lol). I'm surprised not many people have mentioned any funny moments outside of Fumoffu, Although throughout fumoffu I couldn't stop laughing, some of the funniest moments to me were in season one and TSR(including OVA).
Episode 9 of season one, was probably the funniest episode i've seen. The Dating SIM scene is a classic. Then in Episode 2 of TSR, when sousuke blows a hole in the classroom wall and charges, oh man. But I don't think I can choose a funniest moment because there are far too many for me to pick one good one :heh:

On the last scene that they're shown doing warm-ups, they switch to synchronized dancing. :heh: That's the hardest I've ever bursted out into laughter. That was the BEST synchronized dancing I have EVER seen in ANY anime!

It starts off with Kaname eagerly waiting for class to end. When the bell rings she springs from the class, seeing the corridor packed she jumps through a window and runs along the roof of the corridor before jumping to the bread line.

My favourite part of the episode is when she is talking to Sousuke about how to get bread. After her advice Sousuke draws his Glock 19 and fires off a round only to ask for the plain rolls...

That was one of my fave epis of fumoffu.

I too adore Yukino... she's so emotive and amazing with her voice acting. She gives a lot of life to Kaname's character... Kaname's just not the some with the english voice actress.

I personally loled during that one Fumoffu episode where they were at the beach and Sousuke thought Kaname was kidnapped, and how he was picturing hentai stuff happening to her xD

And I agree with everyone who mentioned the last episode. I love when everyone got murderous and looked like they were about to attack Sousuke xD

Oh and the episode where Sousuke forgets Kaname's homework and they go out to get it in a certain amount of time. I love the crazy policewoman, and Kaname trying to push Sousuke out of the train...

Gawd I miss fumoffu. I hope they do come back with more lighthearted episodes like this for FMP one day (though that's unlikely given the very serious direction the series has taken).
