Because most anime only appeal to otaku and they don't want to waste valuable programming slots in prime time. Sad, but true...
that expains it, thanks fo replying :)

Or they don't want to waste money on more expansive time slots, because otakus are going to watch it no matter what.

I got a question about the Mai Hime, how come no one has subbed ep 13 yet? It's been close to 2 weeks already. Is the series on hold in Japan?

It's because of holidays and the fansubbers are out enjoying themselves I'm sure. It should be back to normal soon, and it was on hold in Japan, but at episode 14 rather than 13 and the raw is out for that episode. So by the time they get back and sub they'll be able to sub 14 without wait. ^^

I'm sure everyone can figure out why this thread has been closed. ;)
Do NOT ask when the next episode will be released!
This thread has become a lightning rod for people who don't understand that simple rule. Just because a sub is slow, is no excuse for asking about it. If you really want to see the next episode of Mai Hime now, you should learn about this (http://opera.infoplease.com/ipd/A0580268.html).
