Kinjirareta Asobi? Sort of. Track 3 on the single is the off-vocal version, but the backing vocals are still there and pop up occasionally, especially during the chorus. If you don't mind that, there is one. If you don't like that, then there isn't :/

I'd like to ask what time period and place RM's songs are patterned after (Is it Victorian)? Any other albums/CDs that have similar sounds to it?

Also, what is the string(?) instrument that plays in a lot of RM and RM Traumend songs? The instrument I'm talking about is the one that plays for the first part of Hagashii Omoi and Bara Jubai of the first RM.

LOL it is NOT a string instrument! It is a keyboard instrument, teh harpsichord!

Harpsichord was used primarily in the Baroque period before it was replaced by the mainstream piano in the Classical period.

Rozen Maiden music makes excellent use of the piano, violin and harpsichord. Even though I love it for the characters and plot, the music is equal to that quality or can even be better.

And Suiseiseki still owns.

Yep Rozen Maiden's music was just one reason why I liked that show so much myself. I dunno about "Victorian" sounding but the little sound clips they used for the "eyecatches (commercial breaks)" (both seasons but mainly the first) sounded pretty true to the Victorian element of the show.

Such an elegant sounding intrument.

Hello Rozen Maiden fans.

Just wanna say the RM OST owns of so many different levels. The last anime OST that reeled me in this deep was Inuyasha, Fate Stay Night and Gundam Seed. Now I can safely say that RM is now my favourite. So many great tracks that fit into so many kinds of mood. Excellent to say the least. Oh yea ALI Project owns as hell.

If you liked the RM OST, check out the Zero no Tsukaima OST as well. Same composer done in a similar style.

BTW, after listening to Baragoku Otome over 150 times, I've grown to appreciate it a lot more. I think it'll really suit the tone of the special.

When I first ever heard Baragoku Otome, I didn't like it. But after the 2nd-3rd-ish time of listening to it, I came to love it. And the opening sequence goes with it very well in my opinion.

I also like the ending, although the animation is weird... It's like, EVERYONE looks pretty/cute except Shinku and Kanaria. XD But why is Bara in there, though? o,O

Anyways... If anyone wants the complete RM & RM~T~ OSTs in mp3 format, or just certain songs/BGM, I can send them to you if you want. Just PM me or something. :p

(I also found the romaji, kanji, and english translation of the lyrics to Baragoku Otome. Just incase someone can't find them or is just curious. If you want me to post it somewheres, tell me. I have the Baragoku Otome single by Ali-Project in mp3 format, as well.)

Do you mean the ending song? Or the BGM to the next epi preview?

If it's the ending theme you mean, then it's called Utsusemi no Kage by kukui (of which the single hasn't been released yet).

If it's the BGM, I forgot what it sounded it like... but I highly doubt you can find it anywheres at the time anyways. ^^;

No wonder I like ALI-Project more than I should. For some reason I always thought there were 2 vocalists... but it's just a guy on a synth/techno music maker thing and a singer-- just like Two-Mix!

Who else remembers Two-Mix? GundamW OP 1 and 2? I loved them... had all their CDs of old school Napster. They went away for a while and came back and II Mix Delta... Picked up both of their new CDs (legally).

Also, if you like the quirkier "German" music from the series, especially the two opening credits, I suggest you check out a band called Cinema Strange. They're a funny little German goth-rock/death-rock band and have a lot of the same odd melodies and pacing. Highly recommended :) Check out "Speak Marauder" and "Catacomb Kittens" especially though you can only really comprehend their full weirdness with a whole album.

It doesn't as such but since Japan uses english so much it "does".

Some things just flow better with an l or r sound, it's just that the Japanese treat them as the same letter.

For instance, it's very hard to say "Sperunking". The R feels weak and limp.
However, it's also quite hard to say "Fullel Figule". So that would tend towards R in

Generally "olo" isn't used much in japanese, but oro is a sound that is.

It's just like how Y can be "Yuh" or "Iy" depending on context only not intentional, I guess, though it doesn't matter as much in japanese, they're interchangable just tend towards one or the other at the slip of the tounge.

Remember, japanese originated from something that didn't even have letters, but word fragments.

This is based off my own interpretation though, so correct me if I'm wrong.

I like Suigintou's song, which is named Kanata Kara no Requiem (彼方からの鎮魂歌). It's a solemn-sounding song, like a requiem. The scenery it gives me is...drifting...fading...lingering...

- Kowareta Sekai : RM ep 2 when Shinku is talking with Hina about the Alice Game

- Shukuteki : first minutes of RM ep 12 with desu-boku-Hina facing Gin.

Due to the magic/wonder/horror of 4chan, I've gotten into Rozen Maiden. Got the dvd's, ebayed/amazoned the two O.S.T.'s. Really like the opening theme by ALI Project, Seishoujo Ryouiki (http://i4.tinypic.com/309rmme.jpg).

On Youtube, there's a full length (just shy of 5 minutes) live version of this, as well as a similarly length music video.

Does ALI Project have a live album, best of album, or studio release of this song? Listened to a few other of their songs, wouldn't mind a full cd of their music.

Not only Utsusemi no Kage is nice, I pretty much enjoyed the rest of the album. kukui is one great singer i gotta say. Hikari no Rasenritsu is still my all time favourite. This album is definately worth the price i paid for it ^^

I can't find anything out about them on Google, it's like they don't exist except for their CDnow and Amazon listings for Rozen Maiden and Concordia.

This is really frustrating, and their music is very beautiful. I love that kind of Ethereal stuff, it reminds me of the bands Faith and the Muse, Rhea's Obsession, Dead Can Dance. I'd love to read up about them and know if they took influence from them, and what other artists they like.

I really enjoy listening to all Rozen Maiden songs espeically Hikari no Rasenritsu. The big disappointment to me for Ouverture is the intro. UnLike the 1st two seasons, the song was much faster. Overall, i still love all their songs

Hmm, regarding scores....

I've done a few transcriptions for Rozen Maiden OST and the first opening... If anyone is interested, it's posted on www.ichigos.com

Don't expect too much piano stuff though, mot of them are full ensemble transcriptions since I suck at arranging for piano.

All the opening themes by ALI Project are unique and beautiful. Well, all ALI Project songs are awesome, to be honest. But Kinjirareta Asobi and Baragoku Otome are the ones I enjoy listening to the most. I don't pay much attention to ending themes, but the Ouvertϋre ending is beautiful. Battle of the Rose is pretty, too.

My favorite OP is probably Kinjirareta Asobi, though I like all of them. Fave ED is Utsusemi no Kage
Fave Image Songs are Suigin Tou's Kanata Kara no Requiem and Sousei Seki's Nemureru Shiro

As for the OSTs, I like them all because of the violin, especially Bara no Chikai, Bara no Jubai and Noble Dolls

I like almost all of the rozen maiden's music except the rock one. I really love Bara no Jubai, Battle of Rose, Atatakana Kokoro, the other kokoro one, Barasuishou's song, hyoukai, and the alice game song.

Hopefully the strings album will be better. I reviewed the Rozen Maiden Piano (http://blog.animeinstrumentality.net/2009/02/rozen-maiden-piano-sound-album-review/) and tried to enjoy it since I do like piano music, but this one simply didn't do it for me. Not a bad album, but not a terrific one either. Oh well. :\

By the way, has anyone ever seen a translation of the Christmas 2007 drama CD into English? I have looked high and low and found nothing. (Not that I have the CD, but such a translation will be nice in the happy distant future when I do have it!)

"Everlasting Moment", Rozen Maiden Duellwalzers Ending (PS2 game) will finally be released on CD.

It will be featured on the CD "Soshi Hosoi Works -Vocalists- " (release date: September 2nd). It was sung by Haruka Shimotsuki (she was part of kukui)
