Has Barragan actually shown or stated his number yet? Or is it just implied that he his #2?Please only answer if your a manga reader.
Well, yeah you would assume he's a number 2.
If not then who would be Number 2? Unless number 2 is WW.
But I actually think WW is stronger than Stark, just from the comment Stark made when WW showed up.
Stark is number 1 and Halibel is Number 3... so you would assume Barragan is Number 2, if Yammy is Number 0

What makes him strong is his seemingly unbeatable ability.

Well Shunsui pointed out he was the strongest. And his has number 1 on his hand.

Very, very good observation.
It'll be really interesting if it turns out he's not actually number 2.
In actual fact it's never been shown where his number is and as evidence I've just got some Bleach wiki, and my poor memory:

Although I don't think there's going to be any change or real surprises in the story, there's a chance that he's not actually Number 2 and that he's just some dude who people may think is number 2 or is covering up the place for someone.
However, the odds of him not being number 2 are low since he's got Fraccion and most of the Espada insist he's number 2.

Raw episodes come out on Tuesday and subbed episodes usually come out the next day. (Wednesday)

Since they are numbered episodes, there's no reason to skip them in DVDs. Some people don't like fillers because of their simplistic or formulaic structure, or lower quality.
BLEACH does have a plot, but it is so weak that compared to other series it's next to nothing. Or so they say~

Normally any episode that airs on TV is later released in DVD, because DVD sales are primary source for anime studios
Anime studios working on manga based series such as bleach, walk on a tight rope regarding fillers.
Without them they can lose their TV time slots which is disastrous.
Or they can catch up with the manga and go on totally original direction with usually bad results (inuyasha, kenshin etc)
Too many fillers however most of the times cause drop on DVD sales which is equally bad for the studio. (iirc this happened both for Bounto & Amagai DVD sales in Japan)

could even be an obscure hint that the king is missing. *points at isshin=king theories*

What Happened to the last Bount he was still alive at the end of the Bount arc but he did not return to the world of the living. He was staying with Rong Geaku (sorry I don't know how to spell her name) He was still persona non Grata in the sole society wasn't he; will we see him again during the Current arc airing on Cartoon Network/adult swim.

for all we know he could still be hidden away telling his life story to ran'tao.
neither have been so much as mentioned since then and probably never will be.
filler characters usually don't get much, if any, meaningful airtime outside of their arc (and that is usually for comedy, which those two didn't do).

yes, but was any of their involvement meaningful?
as in, actually contributed to the episode and/or plot instead of just more filler.
walking around serving tea or jumping in to get stabbed and forgotten (and not even worth a heal scene apparently :heh:) are not what i would call meaningful.

I've got a question.
I've only watched one episode of Bleach, the first one which was a week ago. And it will take forever to watch the 200+ episodes so, can someone tell me which episodes are fillers, which are important and which are not fillers but not that important?

But 1 question what does the episodes.
Like 141+ leading up to filler what are they about?
Cause i saw it said like 147 was a filler episode if I'm not mistaken.
that batch before the menos forest bit is manga based leading up to and starting the attack on hueco mundo.
if i remember correctly, kubo wanted to put the menos forest in, even started some sketches for it, but didn't have time to do it.
guess i should've said alternate timeline instead of out of continuity then for the amagai arc.
Karakura riser part is kinda important but pretty less
they made it look like a way to stall the arrancars so that Urahara have enough time to set-up the barrier without them noticing :heh:

When dealing with fiction the most common meaning of out of continuity is that it is not part of the same continuity not that it is out of sequence. Technicly both are correct but for things that are only nonchronological it is misleadingl
It's better to say that 227 was a flashback as it is part of the main anime continuity (as well as the manga) and but ther other eps are not.
karakura riser is a bit of an oddball 213 is the back up from the manga volumes 27-31 and 214 is not directly from the back ups although all the other riser and thier moves are. one small diffrence is that the Don was not in the town when the barrier whent up in the manga as he got a reaction shot when everyone showed up as he could barly feel it.

2. Yes it's true. Whether or not he will gain a bankai later on remains to be seen.

2)Yes, and anyone who doesn't know the name of their zanpaktou also can't have a shikai
3)Royal Guard (or 0 squad) haven't appeared in any episodes yet but they are mentioned in The Turn Back The Pendulum arc and in the episode where Ishida accidentially summons the Menos Grande.
4)There are 232 episodes so far, as the manga hasn't ended yet, we don't know how many more episodes will be made but Im guessing at least 75+

high level shinigami can fly in the real world by standing on platforms made of spirit particals under thier feet. Ichigo could do it since chapter 5. The same seems to be true of HM (but it seems to be harder) but not SS.
The current battle is in a fake Karakura in the real world the real Karakura is hidden away in Soul society

(I'm not sure) but personally I think so, coz if the zanpaktous reach bankai leve it means they are independent from their wielders.
and as soon as the shinigamiz conclude that, they will know about Ikaku and Yumichika :heh: Oooops they cant deny it anymore.
2) Do you remember the first epi of this arc when a purple hair women (not sure) with little girl and other people go to yamamto and i think they sealed him as Marumasa said. the question is " Is that purple hair women is Kyouraku Syunsui's zanpaktou?" coz i think she is appearing in the ending with him ?!!
if that is true .. Poor Kyouraku, he is the most one who concerned abt Yama-Ji and his zanpaktou did that to him!! lol

1) I don't understand exactly what you are asking. Anyway, to achieve bankai a shinigami must successfully bring/materialize his zampaktou in real world. Extremely few succeed and usually it takes at least 10 years to do so. (Byakuya said so in SS arc)
In this arc Muramasa forces zampaktou materialize, so it doesn't count as achieving Bankai. E.g the fact that Tobiune was forced to materialize does not mean that Hinamori has now Bankai.
2) Yes she is Kyorakou's zampaktou
Note that Yumichika, Kira, Hisagi, Momo and Matsumoto have not achieved bankai so far.

it is because the anime catches up to the manga.
since they don't have enough manga content to animate, they have to make up new stuff. japan doesn't do reruns like we do. they have the choice to either make up new stuff to let the manga get ahead again or to lose their timeslot.
almost 1/2 of the anime isn't from the manga.

How reliable can a line spoken by the english dubs during a filler arc be? On the episode of Bleach I just watched tonight, it was just stated by a filler character (Ashido) during a filler arc that their are Vasto Lorde level hollows (as in plural) residing in Las Noches. Should I take this with a grain of salt? Or should I have some faith in the possibility that the localization team isn't allowed to let the voice overs say something that's not true (even if it is a filler)?
Because quite honestly, this is pretty huge IMO if what Ashido stated is indeed true. For the record, I don't remember if Ashido stated the same thing in the japanese dubs. And I'm feeling way too lazy to check.

how you consider what a filler character says depends on your view of canon. although in this case ashido and the menos forest are things kubo said he wanted to put in the manga but didn't have time.
as for the line itself, he does say it in japanese as well.
in addition to Kafriel's comment, it could also be explained by him not knowing what an arrancar is and confusing the two. after all, most of the arrancars' unreleased forms would fit the given description of a vasto lorde.
on a side note, omg the english nel, pesche, and dondo chakka sound HORRIBLE!

Did Ikkaku beat Grimmjows fraccion before or after the power limit thingy was removed?
I think it was before that, I remember Renji,Matsumoto and Hitsugaya releasing...he's a 3rd seat anyway so he didn't have a limit in the first place.

The limit seal applies only to captains & lietenants entering the real world.
It is applied based on rank and not strictly power.
Other shinigami don't receive it even if they are of captain class power.
That is why Matsumoto & Renji had seals while Ikaku & Yumichika didn't, even though the later might be of equal or even greater power.

Just go back and watch the Japanese version just to make sure.

it was more like she was jealous of the attention he was given because she only saw him as a lazy slob. then she found out that all of her evidence of him being lazy was actually him very discreetly doing his job. then we never see her again.

Ikkaku also is better than Matsumoto.
And Hitsugaya... well he is a captain so he is tronger than Ikkaku. But still I would expect his 20% be better than that.
If Ikkaku will train some more and will change his attitude, he can be next captain easily.

Still didn't trust him much when he wanted to visit the Maggot nest.
Just shows that she didn't really trust him.
Besides in SS arc there wasn't really a reason for her to show her hate towards him since he wasn't there :D
Anyway her hate definetly is because of Yoruichi leaving with him since like this Yoruichi became an outcest and she also was left behind. Probably no one told her the details about the vizard case.
But if she will know the truth and will get at least one hit n him, all anger and hate will be forgotten :D

If the OP is all about this filler arc, then we will most likely have another full season of filler (26 episodes);
If the OP has some random scenes that could belong to any arc other than stuff from the filler arc, then there's the chance that this arc will go on for just another 13 episodes. If that were to be the case, the OP would be altered mid-season, with the stuff from the filler arc replaced with stuff from the canon arc.

It depicts clearly the hierarchy of SS.
Unfortunately in Pendulum arc, Kubo contradicted a lot of things shown in the pictured & mentioned in SS arc. For example he made Yoruichi a captain, and merged Gotei 2nd squad & Cover corps.
In Pendulum Urahara went as far as to say that high ranked 2nd squad shinigami are also commanders of the Cover Corps.

When Ichigo was fighting against Zangetsu and wasn't able to go bankai. Could he have gone bankai like Hichigo could?
Hichigo was a part of Ichigo like Zangetsu . We considered Hichigo representing his hollow side and Zangetsu his shinigami side .
But now Hichigo has been broadly classified as a Zanpakuto . Going by the current opening Hichigo materializes in the real world and fights along Ichigo like Zabimaru / Senbonzakura . If ithe new OP is to believed or not, is a different question going by 2nd opening by Uverworld and Toshiro .

He uses it in SS arc to attack Kempachi. In the anime the don't show it in that scene.

It will make completely no sense if they will launch manga with this OP.
And why do you think it will end soon? Just because we saw Yamamoto, it doesn't mean the end is near.

I'm new here. I don't have much of an experience writing in forums, and my friends aren't exactly what you'd call otakus, so I also never really had the chance to enjoy proper anime-fan discussions .. I'm really looking forward to this :) .. Uroshkuneh :)
Now I have a question, but I must apologise in advance for two potential errors here .. First, if this is the wrong place for posting this question, and second, if this question had been posted before. Here goes;
So I liked the zanbaktou rebellion arc, except that I have a small problem with episode 239 (I think). Particularly the part where Hitsugaya reminisces about the pre shinigami period of his life. It was different from what they showed in earlier episodes, I'm sure you all remember. If my memory serves me right I think he grew with Hinamori, and he was hesitant of joining and, well you watched the whole thing too. Am I confusing my self and both stories actually fit in a bigger story, or are they really different ? in which case I'd like to know which is the truer one. I'm a big fan of this character.
I only watch the anime ..

As for Hitsugaya not wanting to join the 13 squads, that holds true at the 2nd flashback too. At the end of 2nd flashback it is hinted that Matsumoto made him change his mind in order to get a grip of his dangerous power.

well both cases are actually true (both in bleach and in real life).
most anyone can get there with enough hard work and time, but there are also naturals that can get there faster or more easily.
an example off the top of my head would be Iba (komamura's vc). he mentions that he was terrible at kido, but practiced hard so that he would be more well-rounded and get promoted to vc (think he was talking to Ikkaku).
Hisagi is another good example of a hard worker.
Butyou also have to remember that just because Toshiro was born with a lot of reiatsu, doesn't mean he didn't have to train hard. He was just strong and smart enough to skip through the academy really fast. Byakuya was also born with loads of reiatsu but he also trained really hard to be as strong as he is now.

It may have just been a clip from the last anime canon episode. They fought for a little while in that last episode.

Here's a question that I've been pondering for awhile.. (sorry if it's been asked and answered)
At what chapter did Shinigami begin to fly around like DBZ characters? Was this "ability" explained? Think back to the Soul Society arc where Ichigo saves Rukia, Ichigo flew to the top of the Sokyoku using a cloak.

Volumes/episodes later, seems like every Shinigami is zipping around the air without the cloak apparatus. I never really thought about it till recent volumes, was it ever explained? Just spiritual energy? What is funny is there's a lot of scenes/episodes where the Shinigamis (mainly Ichigo) run hurriedly around --e.g. through caves, forests, etc., Then moments later in a heated battle they're flying all over the place. Why don't they just fly in the first place when traveling?

this. The ability was explained by Zangetsu in the manga back when Ichigo was discovering his own powers in his inner world; he's basically concentrating reiatsu below his feet to fly, same goes for the other shinigami. They don't use this in SS for some reason, spirit particle concentration perhaps. The question has been answered a few times before , you might want to search for it if this wasn't enough.

Why is it important that Ichigo hasn't seen Kanzen Saimin? Is it simply a matter of his closing his eyes and covering his ears going all la-la-la-can't-put-me-under-perfect-hypnosis to avoid being affected when it's released? If so, it seems like a rather strange weakness to such a powerful shikai.

Well, Ichigo had to use the cape to fly, that's true. But they can stand in mid-air by focusing their reiatsu under their feet. It's just creating aomething to get your feet on, nothing more. Flying and that are two different things, although you can jump long distances in the air by using the combination of shunpo and the reiatsu-under-your-feet-technique.

So how come they can? high level shinigami can fly in the real world by standing on platforms made of spirit particals under thier feet. Ichigo could do it since chapter 5. The same seems to be true of HM (but it seems to be harder) but not SS.
The current battle is in a fake Karakura in the real world the real Karakura is hidden away in Soul society

Aizen said it himself that it's a matter of reiatsu so it's very possible. but we don't know how much stronger Kenpachi is compared to Aizen. Aizen has also been shown to be a bit of a powerhouse himself recently.

I don't think he'll find it. He's already way too powerful. He'll risk taking the spotlight from Ichigo, and we all know how much Kubo loves Ichigo. But I guess it's something Kubo could use should be ever write himself into a corner (which he does frequently).

Don't get me wrong, I actually like fillers if they're done well. That is, if they're done like the Bount arc or Amagai Shuusuke arcs. Actually, I think I'm one of the few people that actually liked those. The current fillers are okay, but I would prefer a storyline. Canon or not, watching a bunch of disconnected episodes is boring. Where's the tension and suspense? The entertainment factor is what separates good and bad filler. If it's actually entertaining and makes me want to watch it, it's good filler. If I'm watching it just because I feel I have to to remain faithful to the show (e.g. Naruto filler from Part I), then it's bad.
I actually like the current filler, and yes, it's NECCESSARY. If the anime team catches up to the manga, the series will come to a screeching halt. It's a fundamental property of an ongoing series... the anime team has to maintain a comfortable distance from the manga. Not too far so as not to frustrate the manga fans, but close enough that if something changes in the storyline, the anime-only adaptions don't suddenly run into continuity or canon issues. This is a bg problem with Naruto, but Bleach hasn't had any such issues that I've noticed.
Then again, given how convoluted the storyline has become in the most recent 2 chapters that I could just be too confused to notice mistakes. :heh:

Shows about nothing ARE entertaining to an extent(Seinfeld, anyone?). Some would consider them "true fillers", in between story arcs and whatnot. I only spelled them that way because that's the way it's spelled on the Bleach wiki. Personally I don't like Engrish either, but I wasn't sure if Nova and Claude were their proper names or just how DB translated it at the time. It's hard to tell with katakana sometimes.

I've watched up to about 135 of the dub, and all I've heard Orihime call him was "Ichigo".
Hey, I'm trying to figure out the correct translation for Eppisode 215 / Chapter 317
when Ulquiorra is talking to Orihime about Hearts/Soul, in the anime it seems translators used "what is a soul? If I ripped open your chest would I see it?" and in the manga they used "What is a heart? If I ripped open your chest would I see it?" Both which seem kind of silly, since there is a "soul society" saying soul seems really dumb, and it's common knowledge eveyone has a beating heart muscle inside their chest. Actually I just thought.. Do Hollows actually not have hearts at all? Thus that could explain why Ulquiorra doesn't know about them when Orihime talks about it. And would probably mean Heart is the correct translation. I still wonder why the subbers used "Soul" though :S"
I always thought he was speaking in more abstact terms. So not the physical literal organ but the idea of the emotions we attribute to it and how they drive us to act. Being a logician Ulquiorra has very little understanding of why something as trivial as love could force someone to act one way over another or drive them to succeed. Thus why he asks the 20 questions.
Anyhow, I would err on the side of "heart" since ch 317 also bears the title "Six Hearts Will Beat As One". Continuing the theme then, Ulquiorra is talking about the heart. No idea as to why the subbers decided to use soul - perhaps because the idea of the soul is abstract it fit will with the point of emotion being abstract. Who knows.
the sub translation of that line is even more dubious when you consider that they translated the same word to heart when orihime says it earlier in the same episode.
also, we were given a set up to the abstract heart idea with rukia's flashbacks with kaien.

That's a nice way to see it. You might be doing him a favor. But, you may also be disadvantaging the guy. He'll be left out of all the discussions about the awesome new episodes everyone else will be having.

if by 'they' you mean random fans making theories, then you are right. however, it was never more than a theory.
i believe vs threads don't exist because they tend to promote flame wars (even more than certain threads we do have).

i thought aizen mentioned it when he was doing all his explaining. i think that vs threads work if you make the rules correctly. like, give your answer, the reason, & debate with others. if you don't & act like an idiot or a fan with no reason, then you get warnings & possible ban.

nope, aizen's explanation at the end of the soul society arc indicated that the hogyouku was already in rukia before she got urahara's special gigai (chapter 175).

Due to Kubo's poor writing skills (and multiple fan translations) it's not clear either way.

it would make sense for it to have been built into the gigai.
except then you would have to explain why/how it was able to detach from the gigai that it was supposedly built into and end up fully burrowed into rukia's soul. the gigai was destroyed after she was captured.

Aizen said that by the time he had discovered that the Hogyoku was hidden in Rukia, she had gone missing in the real world. Rukia didn't get her Gigai until she got to Karakura.
