I dunno why Sousoke should be using a glock, when much more superior pistols exist, surely a powerful organisation like mithril would be able to supply better weaponry. Unless that is one of those glocks which can bypass metal detectors and such which i dont think it is

His Glock is not a gun that Mithril provides, it's his handgun of his choice.

Trivia info: in the original novel, Sousuke's handgun is a Glock 19. In the anime versions, his handgun is a Glock 26.

I've got a few questions based on the books. Firstly, do we have definite ages for the cast? I know Souske starts 16 in the anime and it is mentioned later in TSR that he is 17; Kaname, Shinji and Kyouko are presumably the same age. The manga says Tessa is the same age as Kaname's class, but I think one of the translations on Boku-tachi said that she designed the TDD when she was 15. Is she 16 now [TSR timeline] and therefore a little younger than Souske? My main age issues are with Kalinin, Mao and Kurz. I'd like to do a bit of fanfic with Mao and Kurz, but I've had conflicting accounts as to his age. Oh, and does anybody know how old Mardukas is?

Names. I've seen a few sheets of character roughs for the anime that gives the names of the characters in kana script. Now I'm none too great at reading Japanese, but it would seem to me that 'Theresa' was definitely a more logical translation than the standard 'Teletha'. Opinions? Anything definite one way or the other? And why is Kurz's name so often given as 'Kurtz'? In the dub the characters are clearly pronouncing it with a 't', but the same DVD subs it as 'Kurz'. Again, is one more accurate than the other? Are there any other name issues? I know there's been a few ways to spell 'Gates', and Garoun's name seems to be all over the shop.

tessa - ~16 - it's quite possible for students to be one year younger/older than "the norm"; in my senior year @ high school, when i was 18, one of my friends had turned 17 just two months before graduation
kurz - 20-24 - successfully passed himself off as a research assistant during the onsen trip in fumoffu, yet still interested in high school-age girls (FMP first few episodes) any older and others would note the creepiness (imo at least)
mao - 27-32 - her rank as sargeant; also, the fact that her dad had tried to marry her off, something that would happen while she is still relatively young + time as marine PLUS mithril
kalinin - early 50s - extensive battle experience in afghanistan plus appearance and build forms lower limit of late 40s; however, his combat skills and general fitness (FMP behemoth episode) sets the cap around 54.
mardukas - mid 40s - commanded a british submarine for a while, plus experience with mithril; the british do not tend to fast-track the careers of submarine men.

judging from the tendencies of many anime studios to emphasize the foreigness of non-japanese characters, it may have came down to teletha sounding more "foreign". kurz may be spelled as 'kurtz' for phonetic reasons, along the same lines as the urzu/uruz/wurz debate. as for the "standard" name usage, i guess it would depend upon the audience you are targeting. for general consumption, i suggest you stick with the fansub spellings; i am partial to anime-one (ie, gates and gauron)

kurz weber is a germanic name; also i believe he spoke german in one instance. from the novels and anime, we are informed that souske is japanese; his being raised afghani occurs after he is captured while acting as a soviet assassin. how and when this move occurs has afaik not been mentioned. his japanese origins may be part of the reason for his language skills; however, considering souske's dedications to his missions, it could be chalked to "being prepared" :p

considering the multicultural background of mithril, my gut instinct is that, in real life, they would be speaking english. however, as this is a japanese show... ;) i would avoid bringing it up in any fanfic unless absolutely necessary, as it can lead to confusing situations.

Cheers! You've been a great help. I wouldn't have changed the language for fanfic or anything (that would just get confusing...) I was just wondering if it was anything like Trigun, where everyone appears to speak Japanese but all signs and names are given in Western style, and Vash clearly can't read kanji.

Are there really no definite ages for at least Mao and Kurz? I think Wikipedia or similar gave concrete ages, but they conflicted with other sources. I was sort of wondering where they could have got the impression that there was a definite age for each character if there wasn't. Mind you, I was of the distinct impression that Kurz was 24 until a friend of mine turned round and said she thought he was 19. Weird.

(Speaking of creepiness... episode one. Just look at his face when he sees that photo of twelve-year-old Kaname. He might say "in a few years"... but I'm pretty sure that wasn't what was going through his head. Not that I think he's a paedophile. I see him as more of an aesthete. ;))

Glad to hear I was right on the German thing. I thought the name was German, but I only studied German for a year, and I can barely remember a word of it. (Der katze ist hinter der table...) Another friend, who took German for five years, is pretty sure Kurz means 'short' in German. I have got to look that up. *giggle* (My shaky memory suggests it might be 'Kurtze,' but the pronounciation is the same...)

And Souske is Japanese. Cool. Thankyou. I just read too much into the Helmajistan episodes I guess. That and he's pretty dark of countenance compared to the students at Jindai.

Um... one more question... Wikipedia and anime database sources note that Kurz has a girlfriend in hospital whose treatment he pays for. Where does that come from? Is it true? I can't seem to find anything to back it up anywhere (mind you, I haven't been able to even finish watching Fumoffu? yet, so it could be in there for all I know). That wasn't at odds with anything I'd seen in the anime up until Episode Five of TSR (Lovely Sicilly- I am getting obsessed with that episode!) when he waffles on about goddesses and says the moon makes him think that he might spill his hidden love for the goddess of night. He seemed pretty serious there.

Although Wraith is portrayed at the beginning like an old guy, which was only a disguise that went off after he (she =p) was shot.

And about the Mithril topic, it's an International Military organization, it's been pointed out before in the series, which leads us to believe that their "main" language IS indeed English. They speak Japanese because, wow, it's a Japanese anime =p. Even today, most "International" corps are treated in English, for example Airports. A flight in Italy, between Italian personel, has to be done in English.

I might be wrong, but I recall Mao saying that, after she graduated from High School, her father wanted to marry her to some guy. That led her to run away on the day of her marriage and join the Marine Corps. The Marines often don't like the Airforce people that much and her father, being an Air-Force officer, would get pretty pissed at her for joining the Navy =P

It is highly likely that the American distributor of the FMP series, ADV, will get the license for "the second raid."

Until then, the only official DVD are the original region-2 encoded Japanese DVDs. You can try your hands at Amazon Japan (http://www.amazon.co.jp), cdjapan (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp) or various other sites that specializing in importing legal DVDs.

No, so far that is the only image he has in his memory. Perhaps later novels might show some more details, but at "One Man Force," that is the only thing written.

Of course, there does seem to have hints of what happened in a short story that has yet to be published into one novel, but since I do not read Dragon Magazine, I wouldn't know.

No, and the answer is always the same. As for how long it takes, you can take a look at the Information and FAQs regarding FMP (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=26478) and look at the original publishing date between each novel and figure that out by yourself. Rest assurred of course, is that is just a reference, so even if several months pass by and you screaming "when is the next volume coming out" does not make things go foward.

It's all speculations up to this point, we don't know anything yet. I'm sure kj will let us know first thing if a new season/ova/movie will be out. I'm more of hoping that they license TSR soon, I'm sure that if the DVD sells great internationally it will contribute even if only a little.:D

Side stories are separated from the main story novels and so far TSR is based on the novel Owaru Day by Day. After that 3 more novels came out, Odoru Very Merry Christmas, Tsuduku on my Own and Moeru One Man Force, these are all part of the main story.

Is there going to be another season or was "the second raid" the last one ?

It's just more profitable for them if they do continue with the series. The only problem is that, right now, we don't really have much storyline in the novels to make a full-size series just yet. It's just my opinion, but I think that a new series could only show up in late 2007-2008.

I was actually scared when I heard that Saint Seiya took over 15 years to be finished. If that happens to FMP, I'll be on a hunger strike for sure.


About the manga, it's not that bad, I've been buying it from ADV-Manga, 2 at a time. It's kind of like watching the whole series again, just in black and white and not in motion. But IMO Tessa looks way more cure in the manga :x

I thought that, but also Souske's face looks fat, Mao's neck is even longer than usual, Tessa's sideburns are odd and Kurz's hair is way too short. I think Kaname is the only one who benefits from the manga treatment. Oh, and I am probably biased against the manga because I am a flaming Kurz fangirl. :P

What I like about the manga is that you can read these side stories regarding Kaname and Sousuke at school (ones that wernt included in seasons 1, 2 and fumoffu)

Actually, that story was based on the short story "Maigo no Old Dog" from Dounimo Naranai Gorimuchuu (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=410487&postcount=14). As it is a short story that is yet to be incorporated into anime form, who knows? It may show up in the next series should they decide to go with the ones that follow the short stories like "Fumoffu" did.

Cheap price and notion of "complete pack" is a warning flag of it being an illegal bootleg. Support your favorite anime by buying the actual version in our R2 DVD format, or wait until it is released in your country through proper and legal means.

I haven't heard about a complete collection for Fumoffu, I bought mine per volume with the first one with artbox. Maybe there will be in the future, but it seems that complete collection gets released in 1 or 2 years after the last volume came out.

Believe it or not, I think Kurz actually has a sick gf in the hospital (he joined mirthril to help pay medical expenses) and Mao is older. I actually think Mao might have had a past romantic involvement with Clouzot, the replacement for McCallen.

I'm pretty sure those would be from season one. Seina was only in season one, and fumoffu really wouldnt have anything mecha in it.

It looks like its somehow related to ikinari but i cant tell much more than that.

Also, what's up with the FMP Comic Mission manga? It appears that they just rearranged some of the chapters of the original manga, but anyone know why?

Questions, questions... can anybody tell me Kalinin's codname? Does Tessa have one? Does Mardukas have one?

How exactly are the crew of TDD-1 organised? There's the SRT, and I've heard of a PRT... what are the divisions, who (named characters) is in which, and what are their ranks? What are the responsibilities of each group? Do we know how many unnamed characters work in them? I believe Kalinin referred once to 200 crew.

Kurz's guitar is a Gibson. Any information on what make? Has it ever been illustrated?

AS pilots appear to use fairly normal looking weapons (I know nothing about the military). Would these be the same weapons they would use on foot? If not, what are they? Particularly with regards to Kurz.

What are the medical facilities on the TDD-1 like? Who is in charge? Do we know their name? Have they appeared in the anime? How well would they know the rest of the crew? How often do people end up visiting the medical facilities? Considering how few characters we know well and how often they seem to wind up requiring treatment, would it be fair to assume it might be a busy place, or are many of the crew in less rough jobs?

How exactly are the crew of TDD-1 organised? There's the SRT, and I've heard of a PRT... what are the divisions, who (named characters) is in which, and what are their ranks? What are the responsibilities of each group? Do we know how many unnamed characters work in them? I believe Kalinin referred once to 200 crew.

SRT is an abbreviation for "Special Response Team." PRT is an abbreviation for "Primary Response Team." PRTs are the ones with lower enlisted ranks, whose major task is providing ground support, whereas SRT members are of higher enlisted and lower officer ranks that specializes in AS combats.

Since TDD is sort of an equivalent of the Marines and the Navy combined, I'll use the U.S. Marine Corps ranks for enlisted and Navy for officers.

How often do people end up visiting the medical facilities? Considering how few characters we know well and how often they seem to wind up requiring treatment, would it be fair to assume it might be a busy place, or are many of the crew in less rough jobs?

Once again, people think too hard on what languages they speak. It's a freakin' story! Just let it be! If it were any closer to reality, you'll have FMP characters talking and written in so many freaking languages that only a person who is fluent in ten different languages to get the story!!

I think the language thing is very interesting- for instance we see Mao speaking in four different langauges, which is kind of at odds with her beer-guzzling hard living exterior. (It was me who was nagging you about languages before. :p I find language really interesting, possible hence my anime addiction.)

I don't actually own a copy of the first series. I remember somebody from the medical wing spoke to Sosuke about Mao's condition just before the TDD-1 was seajacked, didn't they? I was trying to remember exactly what that scene was like. I've only seen that episode once. I had to give the DVD back.

Was Yan one of the men during the Hong Kong incident? The apron-wearing guy when the TDD-1 was seajacked? Or is that just completely a figment of my imagination?

Brilliant. You didn't mention the les Paul part in the FAQ, so there were a few basic looks I could have gone with (I researched as much as I could before asking). Thanks! And the rifle make, I doubt I'd have been able to find that out anywhere either. ^_^

Episode titles for season 1 and Fumoffu are both here: Information and FAQs regarding FMP. Season 1 is in post 2 while Fumoffu is in post 3.

As for continuity, you can skip pretty much any episode of Fumoffu or watch them out of order, and not miss anything vital. There is no plot in Fumoffu at all.

The episode you're talking about is in the first series, Full Metal Panic, not the second released, Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu?. It seems like a Fumoffuish storyline I guess, but I swear it's FMP, since I've actually seen it.

this is to address the questions regarding as to whether Kalinin, Tessa, and Mardukas have codenames.
Kalinin is refered to as Pass-1 in the TSR
Tessa is called Anthaz in Oduru Very Merry Christmas
Mardukas I am not sure about, however Tessa tells a story about him being called "The Duke" when he was in the British Navy

Also, in regards to how the TDD-1 would be run. It would probably be organized like a cross between a modern submarine and aircraft carrier (American), given that it has both sea, land, and air capabilities. Tessa, while being the overall commander, was given Kalinin and Mardukas to help her with military matters. Kalinin would be in charge of ground forces and land based ops, like the AS units. Example, the rescue of the hostages in the first FMP.
Mardukas, on the other hand, would be in charge of sub operations and maintenance and running the ship when Tessa is not there. Example, the fight scene in Oduru Very Merry Christmas.

As far as I can tell, Kalinin's codename is "Pass-1".
You can check it on the last episodes of TSR where he says "Pass-1 to Urzu 7...".

I've been into mecha anime for a just a couple of months and just finished watching the entire FMP anime, including Fumoffu and TSR.
Oddly, I became more enamored with the characters than the mecha I initially started to watch this series for. ;)

I'm now on to read the translated novels, since I'm eager to find out more about the story. :)

And me being somewhat of a military affairs enthusiast I may be able to answer some of the military related questions.


How exactly are the crew of TDD-1 organised?I believe Gryphon is right on track. I haven't read the novels yet, but from what I can gather from the anime is that the command structure is very similar to the US Navy submarines and USMC amphibious assualt vessels.

Teletha Testarossa (means redhead in Italian :p) is the captain, while Richard Mardukas is the XO (Executive Officer).
The one that is only subordinate to the captain and responsible for the day to day affairs onboard.
Andrei Kalinin seems more like the combination of a Navy CAG (Commander Air Group) and Marine expeditionary force commander; the commander in charge of force deployment.
Both seem to act as counselors to Tessa and Sousuko in their own ways.

The gattling gun used by Zaïd's ZY-98 Shadow is a AK-57 (going by memory here).
AK stands for Avtomat Kalashnikov, the most famous machine gun design from Russia, and 57 probalby denotes the barrel diameter of 57mm.
The real AK series of infantry assualt rifles found it's origin in WWII with the production starting in 1947. Hence the name AK-47.

On a side note, the ZY-98 designation seems more like chinese in origin than Soviet, as with the RK-86/92.

Many technical terms are good representations of real military affairs and it seems like the responsible writers and designers have a realism fettish not unknown to the creators of Macross and Gundam. ;)
Having each non NATO arm slave being designated with a codename that starts with an S (Shadow, Shamrock, Savage) is a typical NATO approach.
Soviet alinged fighters always got NATO codenames starting with an F (Fishbed, Flogger, Flanker, etc.) and bombers with a B (Bear, Bison, etc.).

All I can say for know is that despite the typical exxagerated comedic element in FMP that the characters come of as believable.
Somehow the the realistic alternate reality Cold War backdrop works fine with a story revolving around a high school aged boy and girl.

I do have one question of myself.
Are there any (online) resources available that go more indepth in the weapon systems used in FMP and the geopolitical situation?

I was talking about the fictuous mecha weapons, not the small arms weapons. ;)

The P90 is made by the belgian company of FN Herstal if I'm not mistaken.

Too bad there's no FMP 'history' book.

I don't recall it explaining it in the anime either so, I'll write why she did that from what was written in the novel:

As a Whispered, she knew what technologies are available to place a bug on her clothes. If no one seemed to be following her (which she was trying to find out by jumping onto the train right before the door closed), the only way a person could be tracking her is by planting a bug in her belongings. That's why in the novel, you can read a monologue of Chidori saying: "is technology advanced enough to plant a bug in this bra? [ponders] ....shit! yes." So she left all of her clothes inside the love hotel and wore only the hotel bathrobe so she can find the culprit who's been tracking her down. And as you can see, Wraith was found spying on Chidori believing that she's still inside the hotel.

They added it for the manga. The novels (and TSR) establish when Chidori gets her first kiss and that's not it.

I went to boku-tachi and saw some novels, regarding of FMP fumoffu and TSR stories, but i want to know where to find the translation of the FMP novels:

VOLUME 3: "Hashiru One Night Stand"
VOLUME 6: "Yureru Into The Blue"

These novels are the Main stories and because of that, i wanted to read them. :(

Just to be sure....
IIRC, Sagara first used it in the fight with Gauron (Episode 6/7 of FMP), but in the OP and even from the 1st to last episodes of FMP: TSR, it's not anymore there. Instead the Arbalest gets a knife mounted on its left hip.

i know this isnt a good place for it, but figured making a new thread would be worse. i just wanted to thank kj1980, your FAQ on the novels cleared alot of questings that have been bugging me to death for a while now.

as far as the post above me, since i dont believe it counts as a spoiler, i just rewatched episode 7 from the first series, and what i saw is that the things clamping the knife were actually part of the retractable mouthpiece, and after the knife was dropped, it looked just like the ARX-7 does in TSR. So i can only assume that the knife was never remounted(since odds are it was mounted there as some form of storage technique maybe?

oh that and the ARX-7 has two more knives, one in a compartment on each hip.

When i asked of the novel´s translation, people just told me that, if i could understand japanese, i should go to amazon and by the novel. Today, i was searching on the net for any information about the novels and i found out a site (http://www.nippon-export.com) that sells japanese mangas, cd´s, dvd´s and other stuff (including all of the FMP novels) and you don´t need to know any of japanese, because the site is in english. :)

That´s good for fans who´d want to buy the original stuff or live in countries that amazon doesn´t deliver, like me, in Brazil :p

Heres a question for ya, Who is that girl with the red hair and green eyes in russia that we see being rescued by sagara sosuke and the other uruz team.

At first i thought it was Chidori but she has blue hair and like brown eyes, plus the first time she sees sosuke is at school.

It just happens to be that China has 1.3billion population and they translate novels from japanese to chinese pretty quickly.
The author posts a chapter of the novel every month on a japanese magazine called Dragon Magazine.
Sousuke is still seperated from the remaining Mithril crew and he still doesnt know whether Mithril still exists or not. While Lemon is taking care of the seriously injured Sousuke in a church?(forgot where the location is), Amalgam has sent some units to that church to kill Sousuke.
And of course chidorii is still missing. But she heard from her slave in Amalgam that Sousuke is still alive.
At the same time, Clouzot and his m9 defeated an emeny who was equiped with lambda driver.

Do you guys know that the production of the novel after "Burning One Man Force" is already in progress ? Its name is something like "Together Make My Day".
Sousuke was seriously injured and had spent 45 days in hospital before he could move. But he had already lost the quick and sharp sense that he once had. Tessa and the rest of the Tdd-1 members have started to take revenge too.

I really like this attention to detail put into the series.
Gives the story a realistic feel despite it not being very realistic at all.

However, you could possibly tip it as the most realistic "realistic mecha" genre basic anime to date.

You was talking about the model 18... I didn't realize! :D

The model 18 it's the full auto by Glock but some people "makes" full auto versions from the 17 and 19 models and the differences - basicly - are the capacity and a fire selector. Also has a "C" version which includes a compensation system on the barrel what needs a slight more powerful ammo charge to produce any effect.

This is about a discrepancy between the novels and the anime.

In the anime, in TSR, we have the episode with Sousuke and the prostitute. This doesn't happen in the novels (I don't have a problem with the discrepancy, just need something cleared up).

The girl looks like Kaname, is this actually Kaname doing one of her acts (like in that flirting fumoffu episode) (I doubt this). A friend of mine says that it IS Kaname...

Anyone able to confirm/deny?

The best for them would be to wait a bit. Using only A Very Dancing Merry Christmas for the third season wouldn't give enough material for a series that'd be as long as TSR. FMP! and FMP! Fumoffu are made of multiple novels and excerpts from different books and put together. TSR is itself made of FMP! Sigma and FMP! End of Day by Day.

If they want to put the lighter side of the universe (slapstick comedy) inside as 'filler', then so be it, I won't complain but otherwise I don't think AVDMC will be enough. The problem is that the next major action novel in sight is Continuing On My Own and that'd mean they'd have to end the third season on a cliffhanger and a less-than-corny note...and there is no way they could back down from a fourth installment of the FMP! universe.

Shoji Gatou would then have to write something new to add to the third series because, as I said, AVDMC wouldn't be long enough. But that's my opinion - I could always be dead wrong.

Novel 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 12, 15, 17 make the main story line.
1, 3, 6 have been animated as FMP!.
8, 9 have been animated as FMP! The Second Raid.

The other novel are short story compilation ala Fumoffu.

It's not a story from the main story line, to be more precise it's the last chapter of the 10th novel.

Kaname can pilot (or control) the Dannam (however the sub is spelled) which has a LD in it and shes a whispered, as well as Tessa. So if Sousuke is able to "control" the Lambda driver on the Arbalest. Wouldn't that make Sousuke a "possible" whispered too?

The De Danaan don't have a Lambda Driver, the TAROS is directly connected to the control of the submarine not to a LD.

If Sousuke is able to pilot an AS with a Lambda Driver without special training or the use of drugs it's because of AL, the AI is a part of the Lambda Driver and the alter-ego of Sousuke. So I think that if Sousuke and AL are able to "synchronise" then the LD could be used directly without the pilote emitting gamma waves.

For me it's clear that Sousuke is not a Whispered, and nothing in the serie or the novel show that Sousuke could be a Whispered candidate.

The Whispered concept is first and foremost about the knowledge they unconsciously contain in their brains as if something had it imprinted it from birth - and the special telepathic link they share in certain circumstances.

So far Sousuke has not displayed either of the two characteristics. He merely shows impressive skills with piloting Arm Slaves, which is undoubtedly the result of his manning them ever since his childhood in Helmajistan. Since it was engrained in him at a very young age he became proficient in that field. His results are due to a high familiarity with ASes. And that's all.

As for the Lambda Driver, I believe it's a one-way machine with no feedback susceptible of changing the pilot's body and capabilities. Al is indeed the only one to thank for Sousuke's successful use of a Lambda Driver because he acts as an interim system meant to maximize compatibility between the two by tweaking Sousuke's brain waves around. I have not heard of any sort of return data to Sousuke's brains so I fail to see how he can become a Whispered.

If you want the whole AS/mech plot and action, go get FMP!

FUMOFFU has no connection to the main storyline,

and in TSR, there are no manga(except for the FMP SIGMA manga still being made) that fully elaborate the storyline

refer to the novels for ALL storyline data on TSR.

Also, not all successive deployed machines have to have chronological numbering attached to them.
Intermittent projects which had be designated ARX-5 or something else, may never have progressed beyond the design phase and remained paper concepts, while the designs were being overtaken by newer concepts and configurations proceding under a different designation.

If I remember correctly the ARX-1 to 5 have never gone beyond the paper concept. The ARX-6 was the first ARX to have a prototype but has never been usable. The ARX-7 was the first ARX fully functional but without the help of Bunny Morauta it was very hard to test/use it.

We don't know how he died, everybody think thats he killed himself but nothing is sure.

The Arbalest was probably ready to be tested, we know that the Arbalest was on the TDD-1 for sometime before Sousuke used it for the first time.

Well, I assume that most of you have seen the first season of FMP. Now, in Episode 6, something happened that I could not quite see the answer too.

Chidori is left alone with Kurz when Sagara is on he's mission to find gasoline, and make an message. In that time period, Kurz loses he's mind, probably very tired and somewhat confused, and grabs for Chidori. Not that unormal for someone like Kurz.

The next thing we know, is that he is laying in a way that suggests that Chidori punched him. Hard. So I just though, "Ah well, one could not expect less."

Now the bothersome thing: when they are discovered, and waiting for the enemy, something comes up. Kurz says: "I remember that the pretty heroine (Chidori) was very nice too the flirt too, right?" Then she makes an happy face.

An normal Chidori reaction would be an outburst of anger, and Kurz's face would probably have hurt alot.

Did something more happen between them, or was this just an glip/mistake from the authors? Since I really found that to be way mysterious.

They were speaking about a movie they saw (Chidori and kurz saw the movie, i dont think sousuke did) anywho three people are running away (from some bad guys of some sort to s. america or something like thate), and in the final scene they rush out from behind a barricade they have been pinned behind to meet the overwhelming amount of bad guys head on (thats how it ends, no denouement or any telling of how they got out of it if they did). They were reminiscing on how this situation mirrors there own, and they decide to rush out and go out guns blazing. Anywho Kurz seems to remember how the Female character was civil and nice to the playboy character (another name for a playboy character is a flirt). So she was smiling because of the contrast between what she did and what her "character" did (she just punched him), not because they were flirting - neither in the anime nor in the old movie.

Hmmm i guess there really is no proof, but somehow i rly remember thinking that. My point was that he wasnt saying anything offensive to her, like saying that she should be flirting with him, he was just pointing out how she was mean to him while in the movie the female was nice, maybe she found that humerous or was nervous cz they all thought at the time that they were about to die, or maybe she felt sorry for him a lil bit. The second Raid is the most recent season, but its end is really open (the threat of amalgam was just emerging as an iceberg, more are coming)

it is assumed that Kyoto Animation will someday animate the rest, but not before fall 2007 (they are currently working on Lucky ☆ Star for Spring 2007)

The first three novel of the main story haven't been translated, the novel are :

Those novel have been used to make the first season of FMP!

Most of the short story haven't been translated, in fact none of the one used in FMP Fumoffu?! have been translated.

The novel who make FMP! TSR has been translated it's ODBD (Owaru Day By Day).

Unfortunately, there isn't any english FMP novel yet.
you can only find english novel via fan translation (Boku-Tachi, and they aren't on BOMF yet, but this should be the next FMP translation project)

your best bet is either wait for the upcoming translation, or buy the original japanese novel and translate it by yourself or by one of your relative.
