I'm just curious as to it's early release. Not even halfway through the series yet, have they even played all that music during the show yet? ...

On a lighter note once I order a copy it's only a mater of time until I have the sheet music transcribed. So be on the look out in about a month or so for Mai Otome Sheet music

btw I wasn't able to check the forums for a couple days prior to the hacking, so I might have missed any new info...

someone mentioned they had some info on a new op for Otome for the 2nd half, done by (of course) Minami? Was there any concrete info on this, or when it'll appear, when it's released, etc?

All I saw was a brief mention, then I was offline for a bit, and then the forums were blown to smithereens...so I apologize if it's been posted and I missed it.

According to the character designer, there is definitely going to be a new opening but nothing has been mentioned whether or not Minami is going to be singing the OP or ED.

Though I certainly hope she does.:)

I certainly hope that they add a new ED when they do the OP. 'Do your best' is waaaayyyy too cheery for when this show turns south. Could you imagine that song playing after Ep. 20 of MH?

Ooo... thanks for that =D

Had the OST for a few hours... love it. All my favourites were on there and worked well as full versions, and there's a few I didn't recognise that are probably new tracks. Mai is pretty good too... not particularly dark though, sounds more like spanish guitars. Maybe she's not so evil after all? Or they're just doing with the 'dance' meaning, it would fit that pretty well. Materialise is what we thought it was too... and rules. They've put all the bits from the eps in, except for that really high part from Episode 7 (which is a shame, but there you go) Oh, and as for favourites... Shukuteki (played during Ep10 when Haruka was on the cliffside), Materialise (duh) and Hana Ichirin no Koi (does anyone recognise this? It's a reeeeally pretty piano track).

So yeah, anyone that liked Otome's music so far, you'll like this :)

[Edit - Actually, I lie. I just realised - the chase music from Episode 1 isn't on it ;-;]

I personally like it a lot. A lot of it are background music, and it's understandable that the OST might not particuarly stand out compared to bonafide music CDs that have major songs on each track. But this is OST we're talking about obviously.

I really loved the 'Hoshi ga Kanaderu Monogatari' track though.

Mika Kikuchi (Arika) has a beautiful singing voice.

I'm surprised no one has duelved into any discussion on MATERILISE vs MEZANE. Well, I'll say they're both solid pieces of music, but Mezane had a better ending. Materilise is very upbeat, but they missed the cool organ solo in the middle.

Great OST, by the way.

Have you forgotten that there is generally more than one OST per show, especially when Kajiura Yuki is involved?

The fact that there is going to be a new OP almost certainly mean there will be a new OP song, which means there will be a new, 2nd, OST.

Sunrise is messing with your mind; obviously they want to keep all the dark music they are going to use in the second half a secret.

Possible... But listening too it, it doesn't sound like something they would waltz to... It sounds like something off Zorro. You know, with the arrival of Freedom Gunda... No, I mean Mai.:p

It can mean "dance", or it can mean Mai. Either way, you can't waltz to it. Spanish dancing is possible though.

I guess if it's something recurring about Sunrise, it's that while they almost make no mistake in the spelling of their English or whatever language they take from like Garderobe, Bifrost, etc, their grammar still suck.

I have another theory; that they intentionally kept the Japanese grammar so the intended audience, the Japanese population, can translate them more easily. The young people in JP who watch Mai Otome have enough trouble learning English as it is, they would prefer to have an easier time being entertained.

after a long time of searching, nipponsei is late with its release dates... -_-;

i found it :D, ive been so bored the lats days listening to the same old ost music, mostly mai hime

i love this ost but i miss one song.. the funky song played in episode 1 when Nina materializes, with the cool trompet ^^

EDIT, post i made in another topic on this forum called Otome Songs

after 15 minutes of listening to this song over and over agin i typed out lyrics, though im not good at spelling things but i will find someone to spell it correctly, a friend of mine is good at it ^^

this are the lyrics of track 1 of the ost

Otome no Komoriuta

camenta sakia bastiva merter bisare story

averta sorta bastiya merter somai dorin

amane yaisamiya

imertai sommia

anetai captida

isomeri someri tedi story

also there may eb some flaws in it but i will sort it out

and i will try to type out the lyrics for the song Materialise!

Valdra, listen the track again at minute 3 :)

Indeed... I didn't notice that >.> Probably because the OST's track flows nicely whereas the ep's version was interrupted before that bit so it seemed higher. Ah well, I'm glad to have it.

So... what tracks are missing?
- The Chase Theme from Episode 1
- Nina's 'Materialise!' theme from Episode 1

Anything else?

Has anyone found or has the lyrics for track 13 Materialise?

As with most of Kajiura's battle themes, as far as I know it doesn't have any. The "lyrics" are just made up as the song goes along to compliment it rather than being actual words and sentences of any sort. That's how she's always done it anyway.

Something with the sheer IMPACT of "Yamiyo no Prologue" from Mai HiME? Then again, that's so far been missing from the show, too. I want some Shock and Awe, damnit...

(Of course, nothing so far in either series beats the scenes where that track was used in the original - Kagutsuchi's original appearance, and Mai intercepting Artemis' attack...)

But maybe a kickarse re-apperance of our Otome of Fire might rank up there among those two.

And yeah, most of the darker themed tracks were on the 2nd HiME OST, so we'll get the sweet stuff next year for Mai Otome.

Ahhh, I love 'Hoshi ga Kanaderu Monogatari'. I think it's a lot better than Alyssa-chan's song from MH. Maybe because I don't have to listen too closely to understand it. :heh:

As for MATERIALIZE vs MEZAME....
Materialize sounds so opera-ish but it actually FITS with the Otome theme of them being in high society and everything. Reminded me of that one opera song from 'The Fifth Element'.

I like it alot but I think I'll keep MEZAME as my top 'Battle Theme' for now. I wish that Lord of the Rings would have called Kajiura-sama before they created the soundtrack for the battles... *sigh* ... errgh, off topic. ^^;

I also prefer Mezame over Materalize because it has a nicer melody. Whereas Materalize is nice but it takes a while to get used to that melody. I cannot wait till the second OST then!

And now that you mention it, Kajiura's music would fit Lord of the Rings so much!

Mezame remains superior because of its consistency; it begins with eerily ominous anger, simmering below the surface, and once it explodes into a furious ballad of righteous rage, the fury of the rhythm never subsides and will not let go of your jagular till the final beat. By the thunderous final note, you'll feel like you have had a nightmare of flying through liquid fire, and feel good about it. ;)

Materialize is "cool", this much I can say, but it lacks the holy rage of Mezame. In trying too hard to be "hip" and "elegant" at the same time, it lacks structural integrity as well as consistency. And this is not to mention the absolutely deflating anticlimax, leaving you thinking "what just happened." :twitch:

In short, Mezame is a thunderously majestic ballad of Heroic Anger and Terrifying Beauty.

Wheras Materialize is a banal euro-goth dance track.

I have to say, the OST has grown on me in the 30 minutes I've had it. It's mellower than I thought and seems to focus on the lullaby as a theme. Oh well, I didn't expect anything less from Kajiura-sensei.

In short, Mezame is a thunderously majestic ballad of Heroic Anger and Terrifying Beauty.

Wheras Materialize is a banal euro-goth dance track.

Mezame is about a desperate fight that neither side wants to be in, but can't avoid. The anger in it is at the fight itself, not the opponent - at the circumstances which are *forcing* the fight. I get the feeling of "Why must it come to this?" when I'm listening to it...

Materialize on the other hand, is a song of divine justice - Heaven's warhost arriving to smite their enemies. Unlike Mezane, there's no sense that this fight is involuntary - and especially the segment that starts around 1:40-ish gives me visions of someone laying down an unholy smackdown, one strike at a time. It's also pretty onesided - it's pretty clear that someone is doing all the owning here...

As to which is better? "Nowhere" from the MADLAX soundrack, of course! :P

RATS! The song where Mashiro falls from the roof isn't there...

Althou I agree to some aspect about the battle hymns, Materialise is a bit lacking when it comes down to the graveness that literally soared through Mezame. Both of them obviously sounds like battle themes but for some reason, I get the feeling of a rather one-sided fight with Materialise, it doesnt exactly sound like if the good-guy is on a losing streak.

The reason I ask if it was a trick question, is because the music played in ep 11, as in the most recent fansub. Further more, it was used straight after the OP, when Arika and Co' were discussing exam results over picnic-lunch.:p

I am not sure if it might have been used elsewhere before that, but hey, don't worry about missing it. K.Yuki doesn't making her background-music as loud as she used to be these days.:)

One of the thing that I apreciate more of this OST is the fact that is not loud and distracting like the usual for Kajura. Of course is mostly a matter of direction (and one of the main reason I don't usually like Koichi Mashimo) but the prominence of instrumental (piano expecialy) pieces it's a nice plus for me. :)

Track 18 - Materialise- is the one song that makes the entire Mai-Otome soundtrack to listen over and over, and I'm not holding back when I say that it virtually pawns even Mai-Hime OST's Track 23 - Awakening.

The song is an upgraded, extended 'Valkyrie' myth/war song

If the good guys are winning in -Materialize-, they're losing badly in Shukuteki.

well for me i cant listen to it over and over again, the high pitch voice makes my head hurts:eyespin: I wish i can remove the vocal voice of materialise(if anyone got any idea to do this tell me xD) and just have the beats loud and clear , i like to listen to the battle songs like this one usually when playing some beat them up game or in pvp.
well i must agree mezame is better tho.
but overall the whole music in the ost are okay

Mai Otome OST is very good, i love it.
It's a very good Kajiura's work, but not the best.

Mezame versus Materialise: I love them both ^^.

Mezame is about a desperate fight that neither side wants to be in, but can't avoid.

I think it's right, very good description of Mezame ;).

Another track which I like:

01. Otome no Komoriuta; we can say that it's ensei of Otome?
It's a very good track, it's my best track of mai otome Ost ( better than Materialise :) ).

15. Makenai Kokoro Orenai Tsubasa: No one mention it, i think that it's a beautiful music.
This track is like the theme of Grandia ( RPG), i feel that Mai will appears like Freedom of Gundam Seed, with this music ^_^.

i made those last night i wanted to let it checked by a friend of mine first

i found out what 1 word means, the word Dorme that keeps on getting shouted in Materialise means to sleep in a way of you have to sleep now!

when my friend has time she will try and translate the rest

I've never been one for Latin and opera:heh: until I started to listen to Kajiura-sama waaay~ back in the .hack//SIGN days. Now I have a real appreciation of the Latin language. Something about it just sounds so... mesmerizing, as if a strange power is in the way the words are vocalized on their own. Maybe just because it's just the way the language sounds. I sometimes find myself preferring how 'Engrish' sounds from some Japanese people rather than from my fellow English-speaking cohorts. ^^ Just sounds cool in a weird way.

Anyway, I love Ronin Aquila's and Winchester's comments on the songs. Now I have the visual in my head of two Jedi battling it out to Mezame in fine fashion (or two Otome, pick your posion ^_^). It sounds like more of a mutual battle with neither side being totally right while the other being totally wrong - more of a clash of personal wills and ideals rather than the basic right-wrong question.

Materialize comes out as 'YOU ARE WRONG SO PREPARE TO BE SMITTEN' feel to it. ^^ They've called in the big guns from up above so when that ray of light strikes the ground and out comes a beautiful angel clad for battle, you just KNOW you're gonna lose. But ah, being defeated never looked so good...:heh:

Funny you should mention that: I'm currently making a series of Star Wars short films that ends in a ferocious climatic lightsaber battle between the two greatest Jedi Warriors in the Galaxy, coreographed and edited to Mezame. ;)

Hey, what do you find wrong with Duel of the Fates or Anakin v.s. Obi-Wan theme tracks?

Still, Materialise and Mezame own the Mai-Hime/Mai-Otome music.

Ronin Aquila
2005-12-22, 19:19
Oh, I agree, Duel Of The Fates and Battle Of The Heroes are two of the strongest warrior-motiffs in Modern Film Music.

It's just that:

1) Mr Lucas forbids the specific use of John Williams' music from the movies in the makings of your short films.

2) I wish to pay tribute to my roots as an Anime fan in my films.

3) In terms of rhythm, you can choreograph FOUR moves a second to the pounding strains of Mezame , as opposed to a mere two with Battle Of The Heroes. ;)

The music for the My~Otome OST is decent. Track 16, Mai is quite interesting. I'm sure it's partially because of the name of the track, but it makes me think of a character making a dramatic entrance. Still Materalise remains one of the better tunes on the OST.

Great minds think alike. :D

I wonder how Mai and Natsuki would look, battling it out with lightsabers...gyah, okay, enough of that.

I was thinking about the song 'Hoshi ga Kanaderu Monogatari' sung by Mika Kikuchi in the first OST...you think that there might actually be 3 OSTs this time around? 'Hoshi ga Kanaderu Monogatari' is to be sung by 3 girls in the anime. If things go as I think they are, there are at least two more versions of the song coming out by 'Nina' and 'Mashiro' respectively.

Very good for us if that's the case!

And I must say:

Much as I loved Track 13, O-To-Me Kourin, and much as I respect Nao of the Otome Universe, I expected her battle theme to be something a bit more erotic and sensuous, as opposed to so elegant and dignified. :o

I think people are far to hard on Kajiura-sensei. I'm surprised that she can still turn out good stuff considering her work load. That being said, she should start turning down projects so that she can focus on turning out EXCELLENT music instead of merely good. Otherwise, she'll burn out real fast. Otome OST 1 is not her best work but it's still quite good and worth the repeated listens I've given it.

I have no idea what these other complainers were expecting. Otome is no Mai HiME...there are tons of action sequences in that anime. This OST is much more sedate and orchestral given the episodes we've been shown thus far. I'm not disappointed at all. But then I'm an old fogey. I think there are too many GSD people who can't distinguish music very well. Methinks they should start watching other anime :heh:

I agree. But I also think we can't expect Kajiura to come up with awesome OST after awesome OST, she needs to start making fewer OSTs but better. Don't get me wrong, she is my favourite anime music composer, I just think she needs to maintain her high standarts.

Usually the background voices are layered in the mixing process and most often it's the voice of the lead singer unless backup vocalists are listed in the credits. In this case, I believe it's Alyssa singing the 2nd harmony part.

She did a few tracks jointly, enough for an independent CD, but not the entire OST. And you're right Kieli - it's not that Kaijura-san's getting bad at all. Kaijura-san has around 2 long term projects in the works at any given time. She's had her music on in the limelight ever since .Hack//SIGN and Noir. And both of those had 4 CDs a piece to cover all the music she did for those series. That and Madlax had 2 CDs, Tsubasa (season 1) also, GSD she did a few songs, MaiHiME is a 2 CD one as well. She's done a TON of work ever since she debuted with .Hack//SIGN - she might need to take a year-long break but it doesn't look like she will. ^^;

I saw that video for Honoh no Tobira (sp?) and Kajiura-sensei looked freaking exhausted. She says she never listens to music at home...well hell I can see why! :eyebrow: When all you do is write music for anyone who asks you to, good God I'd go nuts! Her pawprints are all over some of the hottest anime out there (other than Kanno Yoko, of course) plus she has had several collaborations and she writes/produces for Saeko Chiba and Nanri Yuuka. When does she get any sleep? So people shouldn't be so hard on her. The woman needs a holiday.

*starts a Holiday for Kajiura campaign*

The worst thing is I doubt she'll get one :( The same thing happened with Motoi Sakuraba (granted this was game music composition but you get the point) already... he used to compose some great music but he's fallen straight into the void of being formulaic now regardless of how many people thought he needed a break. I hope Kajiura doesn't end up the same =/

We'll just miss her music like crazy until she comes back and blows us all away with something totally different. :D Probably a dual soundtrack with Yoko Kanno-sensei herself?

don't forget Xenosaga III. That was something I first thought of when I heard of mai otome. Not only did there being a sequal to hime surprise me, but then when I saw Kajiura was doing the music again I was doubly surprised, since I figured she was busy enough already.

anyway, the lullaby theme is definitely the center piece of Otome's first ost, as aposed to the battle song being the center piece for Hime's first ost. I didn't like the Noir or Tsubasa soundtracks at all really, at least none of the tracks stood out for me, so I'd still say Otome's first ost is above par

and are ost's coming out earlier now than usual? there aren't too many shows where I persue the music so I'm not really in the know if its usual for an ost to be released before the series is even half finished

I'd have to say after listening to the Mai Hime and Otome OSTs, Mezane > *. I've never heard anything quite like it, Materialise had been my favourite prior to listening to Mezane and it was a pale shadow compared to Mezane. Mezane's melody is far richer and the song gradually grows and swells in complexity and richness yet I can easily feel the sheer emotion in it. It's an exceptional piece of work.

Mou Hitotsu no Happy Ending? I think, it fits that bit perfectly but if not I'll have to go watch the episode again.

Just done listening to it... I think I had my expectations too high. Most of the tracks fit the anime perfectly well, but as tracks on their own they're just not all that interesting. They're not bad by any means, but I can't see myself addicted to half of them, especially around the middle. Omachinasa~i! is a great track though, I loved that one since it first played in the anime and missed it on the first soundtrack. Zankoku na Mai... I can't wait to see where this one plays... Hinageshi no Hana no you ni is just ... wow. I am so glad this track didn't disappoint me, because I've been craving it ever since Episode 18. Sei Otome no Inori is a really good version of it too, and it has that little guitar bit that plays in Episode 17 when a certain blue gem flies. Not the track I'd expect them to use to make this one, but it works very well indeed.

Either way, it fits the anime and there's a fair few classic tracks on here that will be stuck to my playlist for a while, so it's all good I guess.

They're seriously making all the songs with "mai" involved kick ass.

At any rate, "zankoku na mai / nozomanu tatakai" = "Cruel Dance / a fight you don't desire" alternatively, you could translate it as "Cruel Mai" ;x ... I'm not so sure how to translate "nozomanu tatakai" so I left it without any artistic license.

WOOP the Aoi song! I really like the second half of the soundtrack.

And yeah, the Kazuya/Akane eloping song is "mou hitotsu no happy ending"

Methinks "Sei otome no inori" is definitely going to be the new fight song. It's not particularly dark, so... this series might end on a happy note (I didn't expect it any other way).

"ikusa otome" huh... ikusa hime anyone?

All have different feeling compare with rest of the the soundtrack in Hime and Otome. But man, I think 残酷な舞/望まぬ闘い is going to play when Mai is kicking people's ass, lol!!!

P.S. Your translation is right :D

Yeah, it's Nina's version of the lullaby. Hopefully this means that there will be a 3rd OST for Mashiro's version. :D

whoa... listening to the 2nd OST for Mai-Otome. Currently it's totally blowing away the 1st OST hands down! I'm liking like 95% of the tracks so far compared to like the 25% I liked from the first one.

Props to Kajiura Yuki is all I can say :D

Best vocal track on here has got to be Sei Otome no Inori - this personifies the type of song that Kajiura-sensei's known and loved for. That and the first track, Isuka Otome ~ Aoi to Kuro no Ky. Takes me all the way back to the vocals of the .Hack// series, which I think are her best works aside for Mai HiME. :D

As for Nina's version of 'Hoshi ga Kanaderu Monogatari' - it's not as memorable as Akira's version, which no doubt floored some people, but it makes for a nice comparison. I don't like Nina's singing voice as much as Arika's. :heh:

Yay, the 'Happy' song's on here. :D Omachinasa~i (Track 15) Kinda has that 'nod your head in a happy way' feel to it. ^^;

I know for sure that the middle part of that track was played when Arika materialized in episode 17. Otherwise, it's new, or rather, it's an upbeat version of Hinageshi no Hana no You ni.

Does anyone know if the BGM in episode 17 when Natsuki materalized is on this OST?

I don't know if it's been mentioned already but "Aoi's Death" theme is the very first track: Ikusa Otome ~Aoi to Kuro no Kyousoukyoku. It also seems to be a new rendition of the track "Mai" from OST 1, but both are great tracks! I'll make sure I listen to the whole OST 2 before I go to bed.

I think it was played at the end of episode 18 either when aoi falls to the abyss or maybe when mashiro is walking through the desert remembering this stuff. I'm about 65% sure. Will rewatch episode to check..

*edit: Apparently I'm thinking of the previous track, hinageshi no nana no youni... it starts about minute 20ish when aoi is on the cliff and mashiro is remembering her, gets the chorusy thing when aoi falls off and continues.

Mai´s song was kickass.

Also, I couldn´t find the song I wanted to hear the most. Help would be appreciated.

It is played when Nina and Arika fights (to decide which one of them should stay in Garderobe), more specifically when Nina tosses Arika up in the air and then stomps her down into the ground.

It starts right after Nagi and Sergey´s conversation.
"Nagi: She´s good
Sergey: For an amateur yes."
Something like that....

I haven´t been able to find it in either one of the OST.s... :(

asor merditi tamini sayer

but in later vocal parts they use this :
asor merditi kimi sayer, ife been listening to that part like 20 times now and i dont hear a resemblance in them so it has to be that way, and it looks a bit french lol, well the very first line does ha ha, ill try and translate the songs next week in my free school hours with the good old dictionary fo latin and soon the alphabet of greece and a how to say the strange letters of it, my friend is making me one for translations :D

They didn't have enough tracks for GS OST4 either. ;) They put all the TV sizes and missing songs on it... so I can only hope for that much. I really want the quieter intro version of 「乙女はDO MY BESTでしょ?」.

Then again, they could always put that kind of stuff on a "Mai Otome BEST" collection.

I only realized after the second viewing, but it looks like "zankoku na mai / nozomanu tatakai" was played even before Mai got to make her big debut, when...

...Aswad attacks Cardair.
-minor edit- also when the scene transitions when Tomoe is fessing up to all those bad deeds.

Still, though, that song totally fit the moment so I have no qualms. *_*

The "Mai" in Zankoku na Mai means "dance", so the whole thing means Cruel Dance, and is not necessarily refering to Mai the character.

They call all their battles "butou" - the "bu" being the same kanji as "dance" or "mai" and a pun on the word for "battle", so this is consistent with their continuing theme of dances being like battles. Tomoe in episode 22 asks Arika to "dance with her" as they start their battle.

Just got my hands on the OST a few days ago.
And comparing it to the OST1, I thought I liked the tracks in OST2 more.
Maybe because it has a darker feel to it.
Favs are:
Ikusa Otome ~Aoi to Kuro no Kyousoukyoku
Houkago no Manabiya ~Akashiya no Chikai~
Hinageshi no Hana no you ni
Sei Otome no Inori (the beat is quite similar to Mezame actually...)

3: Omachinasa~i! YES! I've been WAITING for that one since episode 1! :D
4: Kyuusai to iu Na no Rinryaku: Never has Kajiura Yuki written a song that screams "Epic" to this level. :twitch:
5: Hinageshi no Hana no you ni: Simply beautiful. Easily the best track on the disk, IMHO.
6: Sei Otome no Inori: An almost successor to Mezame! Very, very nice :)

OST 2 verdict: YES YES YES! It rocks. Forget it, rocks aren't big enough: it friggin' mountains.

eh? I could have sworn it was. It's Yami no Shuryousha - Track 12 if I'm not mistaken. If it's not the song, oh well - it works well for her :D.

2: Whoever is singing the new version of "Hoshi ga Kanaderu Monogatari" (Nina?) can't sing. Or at least, can't sing while keeping the character. I sound better than her at the high notes, and i'm a guy!
I'll take your word on that one for you sounding better but I do agree with Nina not being much of a singer. She should stick with just keeping everyone away from Sergay. :D
3: Omachinasa~i! YES! I've been WAITING for that one since episode 1! You too?! :) I have to say that IS a very fun song. Almost made me walk up to someone, 'tag' em and say 'YOU'RE IT!' and run away. :D No, I didn't do that but I sooo~wanted to after hearing the song. XD So I had to settle for my sister. :D Fun, fun, fun.
4: Kyuusai to iu Na no Rinryaku: Never has Kajiura Yuki written a song that screams "Epic" to this level. I have to check on that one... I like the song 'indio' she sang for another series - Noir it was I believe. My gosh, when she hits notes (the last minute or so of the song especially) they sound POWERFUL. I can see why she doesn't sing all that often - she'd blow away anyone else easily. :D
5: Hinageshi no Hana no you ni: Simply beautiful. Easily the best track on the disk, IMHO. Very very good song, but your next statement is MY best track. :D
6: Sei Otome no Inori: An almost successor to Mezame! Very, very nice Please, oh pretty pretty PRETTY please let Arika and Nina battle to this song...or have the Pillars rampage through the Artai army...:D But a full length battle between Arika and Nina to this song would just kick ASS.

Yup:
CDJapan (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/(with_comments,simple)/detailview.html?KEY=LACA-5492)
Play Asia (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-9x-49-en-15-otome-70-163d.html)
YesAsia (http://10.global.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/code-j/section-music/pid-1004102851/)

I've heard good things about all of them, so it comes down to preference. If you were going to order anything else though I'd advise YesAsia - $10 more and you get free shipping on the whole order. If you want it fast CDJapan seem to have the most stock in.

The rules only disapprove of people giving out illegal download links, not places to buy the CD :heh:

Has Track 24, Sei Otome no Inori, ever been played in the anime yet? I heard some bits and parts here and there, but I'm not sure...

Episode 22 when

Miyu saves arika and mashiro from the valkaries and when she starts to kick tomoe's ass

Surprised nobody posted any info about this yet..

Anyway, no idea if this should go here or not, so feel free to correct me if it shouldn't, Catgirls.

Just got my hands on the second Otome OST (why didn't anyone inform me that it was released??).
Sweet.
I liked the first one, and I like the second one.
Kajiura Yuki did a great job there. She has this strange style in her music. It's a good thing they got her to make the Otohime OST.

Anyone knows if a third one is planed?, I may be mistaken, but I think I miss some songs from the anime.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that song is Miyus battle theme. How can a Otome battle prayer be the theme of an Android?

But I do agree that it rocks...

Not to mention that it was an actually upbeat, heroic and uplifting Kajiura Yuki Battle-Track that made you feel joyful listening to, particularly the chorus. :)

at first the song made me think of that they would charge the city and Mashiro was running through the streets to the castle to find Nagi etc.

its like a final charge theme lol

I doubt there'll be another OST (there's just not enough tracks to fill one). March 23rd is the release of the first drama CD though, they may well put the remaining tracks on one of those :)

Sei Otome no Inori is sooo good :D

or some track will be forever lost in the anime and never make it to CD T_T (madlax fan should know what track I'm talking about T_T)

Eeep, Catgirls is being whip-happy tonight :heh:

Just a note I forgot to mention: Zankoku na Mai (Cruel dance) is pretty damn cool, too.

It really shows how good and flexible Kajiura Yuki is, I mean... She's done Vocal Orchestra (.Hack//Sign), regular J-pop (Any songs by See-saw), Techno-Hindu (Mai HiME - Yami no Butou), Waltzes (Mai Otome - Otome no Waltz), Spanish-style guitars (Mai HiME - Tokiiro no Mai), Scottish (Mai Otome - Hajimete no Machi, Suteki na de ai), and now Rock with Zankoku no Mai.

...She really IS a goddess! :heh:

yeah she was godly but she lost the status of goddess in me a while ago with the crap of Eremental Gerad and the first Mai Otome OST T_T, Mai Otome 2nd OST finally gain some of my confidence and trust in Kajiura-sensei :), look like she is not a sold out who abandon her style after all :D

Hey hey, watch it...! :p She's been doing a LOT ever since she started working on anime soundtracks. See-Saw, FictionJUNCTION, and whatever projects she's been working on - She's one of the top 5 'must get' composers for anime, second only to Yoko Kanno in my book.
If those two colaborated #_# - absolute pwnage on the anime music world...:D

I could be wrong, but I don't think that song is Miyus battle theme. How can a Otome battle prayer be the theme of an Android? Two things. A) It Just Is, the only time it's played so far has been Miyu's ass-kicking scene. B) Sei Otome means 'Holy Maiden' and doesn't automatically imply an 'Otome' in the sense it's used in the series. Now while we're discussing soundtracks, I'd like to see Mashiro's version of Hoshi ga Kanaderu and a version that includes the fourth verse from episode 21. Does anyone know who sang that one?

24 "Sei Otome no Inori" is first used without any chorus at episode 17, when Arika asksMashiro to touch the blue-sky sapphire necklace to kick some Smith's butt around :D

and finally, just for Miyu at episode 22 (that song is just like a Redemption or a coming of a savior; not especially for an otome. such a pretty nice choice may i say.)

What I'd kill to listen to is a collaboration between Kajiura Yuki and Nanase Hikaru, the author of the absolutely incredible Noein soundtrack. She does better chorus/orchestra than Kajiura-sensei, but... well, I'm imagining "Kakute, Tatakau" with a Kajiura techno backdrop; it'd be incredible :heh:

Does anyone know which track Static-Subs used while displaying the extra information at the end of episode 26? I'm acquiring the osts now and I'm excited to learn the name of the track. A friend said it's "Sei Otome no Inori", but that sounds a lot faster than the version played in the file, and no piano either. D:

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Nevermind, it's Hinageshi no Hana no you ni. ^^;

Can someone tell me the piece that played in ep22 when Miyu went up against Nina and the harmonium? It also played in the final episode when harmonium Nina was about to blast the world and Arika charged and stabbed her.... It isn't "Sei Otome no Inori" I am fairly certain.. sounds too... opera-ish

I see Materialise has been transcribed, but not Mezame?

What is the name of the song that was first "sang" by Alyssa in Episode Eight of MH (seeing as questions about MH are "kindly" redirected here) and which OST is it on?
Is the "slow" version of Mezame available on any of the OSTs?

Hey guys. I listened through the Mai Otome OST and was unable to find a song that I particularly wanted to hear. On ep. 19, near the end, when Aoi was falling down the cliff, they played a song that comes on later a few times.
What song is this? Does anyone know if it's available anywhere?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Mai-Otome Best Collection will contain all vocal songs from the series, all the BGM that was featured in the series but never on an OST (including the remixes of Mai-HiME BGM), a Mashiro version of Hoshi ga Kanaderu Monogatari and a bonus track called "Mai Otome SAGA - Memorial Melody." ('Mai Otome' is written entirely in kanji for the title of this track.)
