Okay, have about 10 minutes to wrap things up, here we go:



I'd like to start with a basic storyline, which consists of the Maidens after the end of Traumend.

Three months after the fight against BaraSuishou, all the remaining dolls were living peacefully, without the fear of the Alice Game. However, that peace wouldn't last long. Inside the N-fields where they traveled, a new enemy was about to emerge from the inner thoughts of someone who had the ability to be a Maestro, yet had no intent of practicing that. His thoughts awakened the darkest thoughts of every object that was destroyed or forgotten by it's owner, and as they prepared to massively attack the human world, they had a problem: The N-Field openings did not support many of them to pass through; they needed something with incredible power to be able to continue, and they knew just what it was: The Crystal Rose. (Get all the Roza Misticae together and bam). For that, they pursued and eventually got hold of two of them. The others were still in their respective bodies, and now they had to obtain them.

The threat was too much for the Maidens to fight against alone; both Suigin Tou, Shinku, Suisei Seki and Kanaria didn't last long against the massive ammount of enemies they had to face and all got severely damaged but managed to remain intact by the invervention of a familiar face.



So, this is probably how it would be, any thoughts just tell me and I'll see if I can modify anything.

If I make it more RPG-like, with a battle system, I'll add in Enju, Rozen and probably Kira and Bara as well, as helpers here and there. If we decide to make it a more broad, interpretation-based RP, I don't see why Enju and Rozen need to be added.

Still, in the need of finding new allies, each qualified Medium would have Rozen/Enju (or even Jun) create him a powerful doll that gets a fragment of each of the more powerful dolls' Roza Mistica (Which makes them a more succeptible target aswel).

This is because I really don't want anyone to be left out for interpreting their favorite doll; you'll make your own and play as both Medium and Doll, fighting as one. The RMs and Dolls would be made into NPCs and not have much to do with the actuall game; they would mostly be interpreted by the GMs and just give out orders and "fight on their own", per say.

I'll explain the battle system I thought of later. It's a bit rough, but I guess it might work since it's a writing-based thing. It has HP, Action Points, Str, Int and Agi, and each of them will impact something different on the Doll's abilities. Magic is also another thing to consider.

Well so far so good I think. I like the system of creating our own medium/dolls. Hmm.. how about the doll's artificial spirits and weapons, attack styles? Thats also up to us right? On that subject, should there be a moderating system; as in, something to moderate the levels of each doll created, such that a doll that someone comes up with is not more powerful than the rest? (sorry, for want of a shorter description)

And I thought it'll be nice if Hina and Sou could be included in the back story.. but ah well, it'll be hard so nevermind. Also, a question.. does anyone play the baddies? (sorry I'm a noob when it comes to pen-paper rpgs)

You know, despite my submitted character being a professional killer, I didn't envision him to actually play an active part in the Alice Game, or any battle between dolls (you can't expect the medium to walk right into the N-field where the dolls fight and pop one in the head, and shoot down a rope, which holds a heavy, solid object so it falls on another doll).

But I do plan to have him advise whichever maiden whom he has sealed a contract with on efficiency and ruthlessness eg: use the environment to your advantage or 'You need more precision'.

so as you can see, it really won't be too hard to make a Rozen one, once you know how to edit.
I was asking for those skins, since it is a 'clock' type, they will have a different code than the one I have.

I had everything written up before my post got screwed, and I had to leave before I was kicked out of the class or gotten late for the next one.

The storyline is just a basis. Absolutely no need to get much into that anyway. The more complicated the less fun it is.

Ehem, should I continue with the explanation about the RPG and Battle system?

Damage, magical power and AP have to be calculated based on the agi; yet I don't have any equation for them right now.

The battles will be on a forum, topic-to-topic basis, with a basic introduction added by the mods/admins. Depending on the variable of having 2 clashing sides (RMs vs whatever), there will be some intervention in the battle if there's something out of the rules/abilities.

I'm getting some advice from a friend who's experienced in Forum RPs (i'm only in Chat rps), so I might change that out of the blue to best fit the stuff.

How about field bonuses for example, a maiden would have a bonus in their own field, but also they would have affinity for types of fields. Sui would benefit from a field that has plants in etc...

Also distance from medium and length of time, since this was highlighted by Shinku before she fought Hina.

I tried the pan v Styrofoam battle in epi5 s1, but that was too much even for me, I have to admit i got up as soon as it went off... Any ideas on what would make a good alarm please?

You know, by watching this episode again I just realized what I kind of took for granted before. It was here that Shinku decided not to fight. After all this discussion, I guess that this fight against Kanaria is a very important point in the anime. It also shows how Shinku's damn powerful when she gets serious. Hina, Sou and Sui weren't match together against Kanaria's attacks, yet Shinku owned her badly without much difficulty.

Yeah it was also a turning point, because Sou realised that Shinku wasn't serious about the Alice Game anymore, and that made her vulnerable to Enju's plans, which led to all the shit that happened later :upset:

That's exactly the way injured are carried. Although there is a big risk involved, and although it may seem that the injured acts as a human shield, there's no faster way you can carry 'em. If they did the fireman carry, it still doesn't change the fact that the injured is behind the guy, and that he acted still partly as a human shield.

Noticed that Enju praised Shinku? IMHO she's the most powerful among the Rozen Maiden, but she doesn't have the will of Gin. Even before she wanted out of the Alice Game she still did not take the Roza Mystica of others. She's a pacifist - in a word - aristocratic.

Well.., currently given the series that we are presented with.., some of the "most-watched" are almost over.., and new-ones aside.., none had the "interest" that Suzumiya Hahuri gives us..

I find the series kind of like a breath of fresh air, something new in a "time" where something "new" was needed.

It has alot of the right elements with it.., adding that to a great timming.., well, its understandable how many people have suddenly gained such an urdge to watch it (myself included).

Never the less.., not taking away credit from the series I am quite confident that if Rozen Maiden season 3 would be released as we speak.., ALOT of people would put Haruhi aside for it (myself included again).

In fact.., if season 2 had not yet been released, and was doing so now I am also confidant that it would put Haruhi aside once more.

Not taking away credit from Haruhi, its a great serie indeed; but Rozen Maiden still surpasses it in a tremendous level..

There are just too many questions, its a extreamly complexed story with a amazing selection of characters, these of which the development progress is beyond superb.
At least in my opinion though..

I honestly will run out of new series as soon as Utanomo finishes.., Karin is almost over and Haruhi is only 14 episodes.., so.. I'd realy wish that Season 3 would arrive the fastest possible.., even if just for us to get our own Rozen Maiden forum.

Because trust me.., when season 3 arrives.., we will definitly need it.

It feels bad when people talk about something so ... banal and trite, and worse when they don't talk about good anime - like Rozen Maiden. Granted, we have the most posts in the Fansubs thread, but only a few post really a whole lot.

Conversation is generated by a seemingly idiotic (IMO) funny girl anime than an anime with a complex interaction of characters who simply aim to be loved by their father.

Yeah, I did laugh at Haruhi Suzumiya. One is bound to. But it even isn't as funny as Rozen Maiden's fun episodes - the anime seems so contrived, so unnatural, it's hard to appreciate its value.

Any thoughts on what should be counted as official RM information on this thread? Personally I go for the 2 series as gospel, and the drama cds as tie ins although there seems to be a few inconsistancies. Does anyone know of any official bibles out there?

I like Suiseiseki and Hinaichigo because they are my complete opposite.

As for that "lifestyle"... ughh, no comment.

When I wrote about anime character designs suiting dolls more than humans, I was referring to the facial aspects. IMHO, it's pretty much a given that humans should NOT be dressed like dolls.

Me, I always loved tea, ever since kindergarden (my teacher once treated me to chinese tea, with her chinese tea set). However, I doubt that I can be friends with Shinku, seeing that I'm not refined enough. And yeah, I think I can be better friends with Souseiseki though, seeing that both of us likes tea, and both of us do have some things in common, except for the faithfulness part. I am always ready to jump ship when I sense my leader is going wonky.

And regarding Suigintou, we can be on neutral terms, but I doubt we can be friends, sadly. I mean....

well that depends, got great chinese food in manchester chinatown, got some good ones up in Newcastle and leeds. Can't say you can compare them its like comparing Malay daipaidong with one in HongKong, they just taste a little different, to suit the british taste. but the quality in the bigger restraurants are fantastic, just beware of the costs. it hurts
Mind you they might be a little too far up north for you.

Food in London's China Town is okay, but for taste (just the ingrediants make a huge difference, the white chopped chicken is a good example) and cost you can't beat HK, be prepared for your wallet to sulk at you when you eat.

80 degrees for 3 mins isnt it? I was told that the way to cool it down is to pour it into the cold cups first and then into the teapot and that should lower it to roughly the correct temperature. That trick that Sou's master does for Sui to cool her tea down brings back memories of what my mum used to do when she used to force us to quaff down chinese herbal medicine. A very bitter memory :p

Even though I believe that Shinku drinks many types of teas, I believe it is difficult to say what is her preferred tea. The tea set they use is one that belongs to the Sakurada household, it seems to have a sugar pot and a milk pot indicating "milk" tea, please don't be another green tea, milk and sugar drinker, thats just wrong! If its milk n sugar you want then ruin a cheap breakfast tea imho....

Shinku's cup does also seem to be from a western style tea set, but the tea leaves can't be decerned from the anime. She keeps complaining about her tea being too weak and luke warm so that indicates a black tea since they are more hardy and need to be steeped longer at hotter temperatures then green ones.

The specific tea she drinks is I think whatever is available in Jun's cupboard, but I am sure that Nori would pickup what ever she wants.

Bit of tea trivia, did you know why milk was added to tea (barbarians...). It was coz in the old days of Britain the porcelain cups were pony and would crack if boiling water was added to them. Cold water had germs, and beer made the tea taste bad, so milk was used. Yup milk has germs too but most people were used to them. But why did it stick even though the porcelain quality increase? Any tea drinker should be able to tell. With harsh teas (that's cheap to u and me) the milk makes it taste errr smoother. This happens because of a chemical reaction between the tea and the milk, and you only need a little milk to make this happen anymore overpowers the taste of the tea, which is a good thing with some teas.

Heh hope I haven't bored anyone and as a disclaimer I could be totally wrong with my tea facts :p

It is a black afternoon tea, so the colour matches what seems to be in their tea cups.

From the colour the tea is defiently a red or black tea, but other then that no other indications. How widely available is Darjeeling in Japan? I am assuming that Nori has to go out and buy it as I don't think Shinku is the type to go robbing a tea shop via a nfield.

Edit: Red tea does exist. There colour of the tea is dependent on how fermented are the leaves.

Less fermented: Green Tea
Medium fermented: Red Tea
Very fermented: Black Tea.

And as usually, the more fermented the tea, the hardier it is and higher temperature is needed to make them 'open'. So, yeah, Shinku drinks a kind of red tea.

I know there has been alot of off-topic related comments lately.., this due to the fact that most of the questions we could speculate an answer in the Rozen Maiden have been answered already.

Without a season 3 its natural that after getting to the point where we are "confortable" with the speculation on certain things where we had our doubts, that we end up without a realy important issue to discuss and try to gather more "relative" issues in which to question; hence the Tea.

Actualy Grey and Mice have made this turn into a good topic of conversation.., when I started this it was mostely to say that I found a red tea which tasted realy good and wondered if Shinku drank the same..

If you have a more important question to discuss Wanderer, PLEASE! :) present us with it.

I know this must have been said some pages back, (I don't specifically know what page or who posted it) but as much as we fanatics like to think of everybody having a season three, most of the questions posited by the second series has been answered significantly.

In fact, the fact that it did not have a happy ending for all of the Rozen Maiden and the crushing blow that is episode ten is also what helps the series, particularly Traumend, to shine. It is realistic.

It knows that life ain't all pretty, it ain't all that jazz. It's life, and everyday we have to deal uncomfortably with people and things. There are consolations, and that is also why we continue living.

If the creators aim was to create dynamic, in vitro (figuratively speaking, Jun's house is a laboratory) characters, then they have pulled it off: we realized Sou being more goal-oriented, and her, just like everyone of us, wanting to be loved; we see brotherly (or, to be more exact sisterly) love by Sui for Sou: she willing to give up becoming Alice just to have Sou with her; we discover that Gin has a heart, despite what he have seen of her in the first season, and that ultimately, she only wants to be cared for and loved.

We see the gaining of courage despite dire times of Kanaria, and in that miniscule amount of time where she decided to protect Sui's Roza Mystica, her resolve not to bullshit; we see Hina maturing and expressing child-like (not childish) love for Jun and her family; we see a Gandhi in Shinku; we see Bara wanting to be loved by Enju; we see jealousy, hatred, dishonor ... we see the entire human spectrum when we watched Rozen Maiden.

Despite its uninviting premise of living dolls, we have all fallen for them, gained a heart for them - to a tee, loved them - that's why WE're here, aren't we? So the message was delivered by creators even if they stopped here. No, it's not that dolls can be human too, but through anthropomorphy, they have shown what it is to be human. Through the dolls, the creators have shown who we are.

If there was no season three, I'd be terribly sad. Seriously. I have said this and will say it again: I hope they all have happy endings, because I sincerely hope that the human race will have a happy ending. However, the message has been passed.

That is why we are all here, sharing thoughts about tea or about anything in the world; that is why our thread lives as the most popular in the fansubs section (despite having a few commoners), and that is why Rozen Maiden rocks.

Like I mentioned before, Souseiseki probably prefers black tea. We do know that Suiseiseki knows how to prepare black tea, because 'grandpa' and 'grandma' loves black tea, so I assume that Souseiseki probably loves black tea as well, seeing that Suiseiseki knows how to prepare black tea and black tea only. And Souseiseki should also be drinking tea in her medium's house.

As for the other dolls, no idea. We never see Hinaichigo drink anything. We do see Suiseiseki drink orange juice, but we can't be sure it is her favourite drink since we don't see her drink that very often.

And I actually doubted that Gin-sama's favourite drink is Yakult. I mean, she mentioned lactic acid bacteria, but she was never seen actually drinking it. But I had reasons to suspect that she does drink tea.

Seeing that she is the youngest, I would say because of naivety, and because of her desire to please 'Father'. She is probably the only one who doesn't know that there are other ways to become Alice, I think. But I could be wrong.

She just loved her father and made all that she could to satisfy him. Her real face appeared at the very end when Enju praised her.
I really love her last scene when she was falling into pieces in Enju's arms. She was so cute and felt verry sorry for her. It was my favourite RMT scene with Sui's ones ("You want father's happiness but you don't mind if you make your sister cry" in particular), Shinku's trying to apologize to Gin and Kanaria protecting Sui's RM.

Suiseiseki wanted to deliver her letter to Jun, and she actually went to the toilet, before getting smashed into the wall by the door, pushed by Kanaria. I think that provides clues on the digestive system of the dolls, and that they do go to the toilet.

But I'm aware that this is contradicted by Shinku's lack of knowledge regarding the toilet.

And I don't know who started the Dearka (from Gundam Seed, isn't it?) and Suigintou pairing. I mean, it looks kinda absurd.

I know this must have been said some pages back, (I don't specifically know what page or who posted it) but as much as we fanatics like to think of everybody having a season three, most of the questions posited by the second series has been answered significantly.

In fact, the fact that it did not have a happy ending for all of the Rozen Maiden and the crushing blow that is episode ten is also what helps the series, particularly Traumend, to shine. It is realistic.

It knows that life ain't all pretty, it ain't all that jazz. It's life, and everyday we have to deal uncomfortably with people and things. There are consolations, and that is also why we continue living.

If the creators aim was to create dynamic, in vitro (figuratively speaking, Jun's house is a laboratory) characters, then they have pulled it off: we realized Sou being more goal-oriented, and her, just like everyone of us, wanting to be loved; we see brotherly (or, to be more exact sisterly) love by Sui for Sou: she willing to give up becoming Alice just to have Sou with her; we discover that Gin has a heart, despite what he have seen of her in the first season, and that ultimately, she only wants to be cared for and loved.

We see the gaining of courage despite dire times of Kanaria, and in that miniscule amount of time where she decided to protect Sui's Roza Mystica, her resolve not to bullshit; we see Hina maturing and expressing child-like (not childish) love for Jun and her family; we see a Gandhi in Shinku; we see Bara wanting to be loved by Enju; we see jealousy, hatred, dishonor ... we see the entire human spectrum when we watched Rozen Maiden.

Despite its uninviting premise of living dolls, we have all fallen for them, gained a heart for them - to a tee, loved them - that's why WE're here, aren't we? So the message was delivered by creators even if they stopped here. No, it's not that dolls can be human too, but through anthropomorphy, they have shown what it is to be human. Through the dolls, the creators have shown who we are.

If there was no season three, I'd be terribly sad. Seriously. I have said this and will say it again: I hope they all have happy endings, because I sincerely hope that the human race will have a happy ending. However, the message has been passed.

That is why we are all here, sharing thoughts about tea or about anything in the world; that is why our thread lives as the most popular in the fansubs section (despite having a few commoners), and that is why Rozen Maiden rocks.
So you saying we love Traumend because it was real? I agree, it was, but physics, you take things too seriously. :p For instance, about the crushing blow that episode 10 was, yes, but I don't think that much can be read into it.. for me I just took it as a wonderfully emotional episode that helped me relieve my tear debt (I don't cry nearly enough). Hmmm.. but what consolations are you speaking about? I don't think there were any consolations at the end of Traumend, not with Hina still dead :(

Heh I wouldn't compare Gandhi with Shinku. She still did fight in the end :p Well I agree with that last sentence. I love Traumend because it showed much humour, showed the wonderful sides of the dolls, and yet didnt shy away from killing THE CUTEST character. That took guts. I respect the show for that.

Since we're on the topic of what the dolls eat/drink, has it ever occured to you they to not go to the bathroom? Is it because they can't, or are they bound to television physics (ie. never see them go to the bathroom unless something hilarious/hentai is supposed to happen)? Where does it all go?
I propose the theory that Roza Mystica has something to do with it. Possibly it creates a small nField within the doll, and nce something is consumed it goes directly in and becomes the energy that fuels it. Though not a very sound theory, its all I've come up with so far. Any thoughts?
Heh. Hmm, yeah I'd say television physics, cause the only scenes involving bathrooms were 2 or 3; Shinku's mistake in S1, Jun reading mags in there and Sui and Kanaria getting crushed by its door. Anyway, for want of a rational reason, your theory is nice. I would say the same too... the n-field, or whatever is in there, deconstructs any organic food matter into their atomic/molecular constituents and converts it to energy for their use during moments independant of their medium. Using alchemy, that atomic matter/energy is converted to porcelain for autonomous repair of injuries in battle, and general wear and tear--joint friction etc etc.

Hmm...she would have a melee weapon. Remember that Barasuishou is a copy of Kirakishou and Bara has a sword. So I think Kirakishou probably has something that is more or less similar.

Her attacks do seem to be plant-based though, and possibly rose-based. I speculate that the rose on Kira's eyepatch is used to sap energy from her targets (in other words, energy leeching). She will probably be using attacks and weapons that are given to her in the manga. Anyone reading the manga?

And bout her melee weapon, it's up to Peach Pit to determine what she will use.

Out of all the dolls I would say that Sui's design is the most "humble" don't get me wrong I'm not saying that it isn't good, but if you look at the design the feeling it gives me is that it would have been worn by a maid in a posh residence...

Its hard to pick my favorite design as each one fits each maiden so well. Normally I dislike it when anime characters don't change their clothes, but with the maidens it just seemed wrong to me for them to wear anything else (the dolly cos play fan service Micchan served to us...)

Out of all the costumes the one that is the most imposing without looking like it was designed for Beelzebub was Gin's costume, the dark design like a delicate wrapping that covers a much more complex character then we are lead to see when she was introduced.

I would like to take this and merge it with an earlier posting by momogal (sorry to get your name wrong) and suggest that we try to find real life equivalents of the Rozen Maiden costumes. It already has been pointed out that the style of dress does already exist in Japan and it would impress me to no end to actually see someone who dresses like Shinku or Sui in day to day life.

Costume-wise Gin is definitly! the more detailed and complexed one.., that has always been proven true; and I myself also have the same opinion.

Don't get me rong though.., I also admire how Bara and Shinku are dressed.., specialy Bara's dress which is made in the form of a rose.

Shinku fits her caracter compleatly.., she is indeed the "most victorian" in her ways.

As for Suisei Seki.., her dress is kind of dificult to classify for me.., I realy like it, yet.., its still simple but at the same time complexed :p
I guess what I am trying to say is.., it has alot of detail that only with attention can one notice it; so at first sight it looks kind of humble.

Sou's in my opinion though, is the most humble of them all.., maybe its because its the more "boyish" of them all.., but if you look closely there is not nearly as much detail in it like the rest.., its very plain all arround.., not to mencione the fact that she most of the times "loses" her hat.

LOL!!!! I couldnt have chosen a better alarm theme ;) Good one. Hina's singing would wake the dead. Anyway, yes yes, Sui does look like a humble maid, but I supposed that suits her leanings, you know, as a gardener that sorta thing. I like how you described Gin's costume. Well said, well said. As for Sou's, well the fact that she's dressed like a boy puts me off. I guess its because her boyish dressing doesn't go with her character, I for one don't think Sou can be called Tomboyish, no. She is serious yes, but not tomboyish. On this point, I find that ALL the other doll's dressing really suit their character personalities very well, as if their dressing makes their actions/attitudes. :heh:

Best I've been able to find via google has been a pre order for a set of SD figures. The only Suiseiseki figure I've found is all sold out.

They're all sold out unfortunately. From what I hear, it's a limited production run and they're pretty expensive even on Yahoo Japan Auctions, up to about $100.
